There was a separate shower and bathtub in the bathroom. There were black out curtains on the windows. I didn't realize there was a window on the ceiling until the sun shown down in the morning. Then I also noticed there were blinds to block out the sun on that too! The bed was so comfy. The blanket was so warm and seemed like down feather. They gave us two complimentary glass bottles of Martinelli's apple cider. Amenities: -Fitness center. I was here at night, so it was very dark. I only saw one small room with cardio equipment. No weights. -Spa. There was no water dispenser and no hair dryer. In the women's locker room, there were lockers, one shower, new bathrobes, one pair of slippers (that we saw), and fresh towels. The steam room was small but could fit at 4-5 people. -Pool. The pool is heated. I wish they had a jacuzzi! -Golf. I think they had a 9-hole course on the property, but I did not partake in this. -Golf shop/Golf club. This is a 10 minute walk from the lodge. You can rent and purchase equipment here. -Tennis/pickleball. Equipment is free to borrow. No shade for the pickleball court. One tennis court is covered in shade by itself. Not sure about lighting. No wind guards. -Restaurants. See website for hours. When I checked out around 11-12PM, the restaurant was closed.

They charge $25 per person, unlimited balls. A little pricey compared to the other driving ranges around but worth the try since we were in the area. There's a limit to how far you can hit your ball (180 yards) because it's not a big enough space and there are houses nearby. The pro shop looked well stocked with golf clothes, footwear, accessories. I'm sure there were golf clubs (I didn't really look, but I'm pretty sure I saw some bags). Lastly, they have strict dress code- both at the course and at the range- no denim, no t-shirt's, no sweats. Didn't know this prior to coming here.

I called that other company's teaching approach Painting by Numbers because it wasn't cohesive and intuitive for me. Also, Matt gives full hour-long lessons versus the other company that only did half hour lessons which I found to be way too short so I ended up having a fractured and incomplete understanding of the golf swing. I'm over 60 years old and a slender woman. So I don't have bulk muscle for strength. Learning how to strike the ball correctly gives me the distance. Matt teaches with intuitive, cohesive instruction and shows (sometimes with props) as well as explains why certain aspects of the swing are important so that logically it all makes sense. He is such a gifted teacher to help all the details gel without my feeling its overly analytical. Proof of his teaching is I started out hitting my 7 iron 42 yards on the Trackman and am now hitting 122 yards dead straight. Also when I started out I didn't have the ball striking skills to play18 hole courses, only 9 hole courses. I recently scored 110, 112, and 114 on a par 72 course. When people learn I've only golfed for 10 months total, they can't believe it. When they ask who is my coach, I happily share about Matt being the best ever and why. The room was spacious, we added a roller bed and BabyQuip crib. Signed up for the little rancher and was super cute. The kids got to feed the goats, per sheep, alpaca, donkeys and mini horses. Did breakfast buffet daily, as we had credit. We also went to the pool, and the kids loved it. Walked around the golf course and saw some deers. There was a wedding so it was kind of loud. Wished the in room dining had more food. All in all, good experience here.

Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.

Although it's on the Del Monte Forest side and no Ocean holes, the course is still beautiful and challenging with a mix of long and shorter holes, with sloping fairways, lots of bunkers, and difficult greens where you need to be strategic on approach shots, so it helps to play here a few times to get used to them. The course was in terrific shape today and pace was very good...finishing in a 4.5 hour round despite our group having lost a few balls along the way in the woods or thick native areas. I will say there were a few changes since I last played and I didn't remember it having so many waste bunkers everywhere the last time I came, which was at least 7 years ago. Although many people walk, I enjoyed having a cart because it's a rolling course and it can be quite a walk on a few holes to the next tee. I do wonder why they still don't have GPS on their carts. I would also suggest that they add some EV car chargers in the parking lot. Many of us drive 2 hours or more to get here so it would be a nice touch to be able to charge up the car a bit during a round, or while having a beverage or two in Porters before hitting the road! It's been too long since I last visited and I won't wait that long again for sure!

The staff across the board here were great and very helpful. Cart girl was out there until 6:30PM as windy and as cold as it was and the longest I've seen stay at any course. Bar / restaurant staff from the starter even getting us out earlier than our tee time. Played here on a Friday at 3PM and was off the course at 7:02 playing as a 2 some. Course was in great shape, green rolling always true and quick. Bunkers are always strategically placed in n the right spots but the sand is pure and fluffy coming out. Definitely coming back again here before the 2026 season ends.

Biggest complaint there is the slow play. Bayonet we played the round 5:15 mins and Black Horse we played that round 5:30 mins. We were 55 mins behind pace of play when we got to hole 18 and had to wait on the tee box. We waited on average 10mins on each tee boxes and No Marshalls to be seen on either days. We called the club house when we played Black Horse on hole 5. They never showed up. Would I recommend these courses to play? Yes, but get an early tee time.

Pro shop staff were great and helpful, paid $25 less than what I was expecting which was great. Let me start by saying this. When you come to a place like this golf course, as soon as you pay grab your cart and bag etc and immediately go see the starter. Check in with them. Our starter, an older gentleman seen we were about 90 minutes early to our tee time. We went to the range etc and upon just putting, he seen us and said we could go right now if we were ready which was almost 40 minutes ahead of schedule. He gave us some pointers etc on the course which helped a ton. The course had our 4 some completed in 3.5 hours of play. The course was in unbelievable shape and the greens were as hard as they get next to probably a US Open. What a great challenge and can't wait to come back here again.

Like many golfers seeking the ultimate golf swing "fix" I've been fortunate to have lessons with some of the very best instructors, Butch Harmon, George Gankas, professionals at my home course at the Olympic Club...all extremely good. Yesterday I had the best lesson I ever had. Over two hours of one on one instruction in a language I could understand. Not so technical that my eyes glazed over. What it accomplished is taking me, my swing, my learning style and making it about me using the best learning aid I'd ever seen. Robogolf is adapted to fit you and your swing. Countless repetitions later, you start to understand the end game because you feel things you've not felt before. Sounds strange but true. Scott claims one benefit for me is a potential gain of 40 yards. I didn't take the lesson because of that outcome. And if it so happens then another kudo to Scott. But, I know why I'm not getting the 40 yds today and before the lesson Nada. I could go on but you get the sense of why I'm a believer. Last, Scott doesn't something 95% of the teachers Don't Do. He will actually send you videos of your lesson. All say they will and most never do. It takes time and it's like paperwork-- they just don't do it. Go have fun and become what you want to achieve.

It's hard to believe there are people who get to play these courses whenever they want to. Again, wow.

Situated along the Monterey Peninsula I completed my work around the famed 17 mile drive with the…read moremost private of courses. How private? 1100 members and you can only play if you are a member (must be invited) or invited as a guest. Now I have played MPCC , Spyglass, Pebble (twice) , Cypress and Poppy. If you are fortunate to play this course, the Dunes is actually the more prestigious over the Ocean/Shore course. Most members walk with a push cart. Although I am used to carrying my own bag, I am glad I used a push cart. Our round started at 11am and ended at almost 3pm on the dot. The course has likely the most undulating greens I have ever played, so bring your short game and be prepared for 3 putts. As a middle handicapper I highly recommend playing the blue tees. The white tees were probably a little too close for me. I played true to my 17 handicap bogeying every hole except the 18 handicap signature 14th hole. The amenities were all there. Tees, ball markers, balls, score cards, water, towels, etc. They even had golf carts available on the 11th hole in case you were running late or got tired and wanted to ride the rest of the way. If you are knit-picking the only bad part is a restaurant that isn't available til the 12th hole or someone driving around with a food cart. Some points of note. There is no signage telling you what hole you are on so it is good to be playing with a member. Covid protocols are in place so it is wise to bring ID and vaccination. No shorts or jeans are allowed. Pants and collared shirts are required and the shirts must be tucked in. Women must also wear gear that goes to the calf. My friend's wife was wearing expensive designer jeans and even she knew to go inside and buy a whole new wardrobe for the day. The course was well manicured and one of the most naturally beautiful courses I have ever played. All the staff were exceptional, friendly, and attentive.
