I came into the salon with 20 inches of hair, now I have 12. It was supposed to be "even" but I was left lopsided and significantly shorter. The products used on my hair left my hair extremely dry and dull. Not to mention that there was a roach that crawled up the wall and onto the hair station where I was seated. I returned to the salon the day after and requested a refund. Was never given an apology, my complaints brushed off. I was told that they "should" be able to refund me and the manager would be in contact. 4 days later, I haven't received a call, they have not answered their phone.

You get what you pay for. I have never received anything close to as good of a haircut from anyone else. I have extremely thick hair which can be hard to manage, especially when it's long. On Monday, the day before my appointment, I received a reminder email from Vagaro but there was no option to cancel through the platform. I called the salon but it's closed on Monday so I sent Bauhaus a message through Vagaro explaining that I needed to reschedule the appointment. On Tuesday morning, 7 minutes after they opened, I tried calling again but the line was busy, so I left a voicemail. A few minutes later, someone from Bauhaus called me and I assumed they were calling me back to reschedule. Nope. They said that because I didn't cancel my appointment within 24 hours, they are billing me for 50% of the service I booked. I explained that I'd left a message via Vagaro and that I left a voicemail this morning. "You should have left a voicemail yesterday." Specific instructions to leave a voicemail instead of a Vagaro message aren't stated anywhere. I made multiple efforts in good faith to reschedule my appointment and let the salon know that I would not be making my 10am today. "I can't rebook you until you've paid the 50% cancellation fee." That's a shame. I have no problem paying the fee if it will be applied as a credit to my next service, but paying it as a penalty when the salon's booking systems don't support its cancellation/rescheduling policy is deeply unfair.
