This is a hidden gem for breakfast and brunch in a convenient location in Wilmington, DE. We traveled from Philadelphia to get a yummy breakfast and we were not disappointed. Fresh, flavorful food and the inside of Urban Kitchen was pleasing to the eye pallet! Highly recommended and yes we will be back!!!

This food was sooo good. Place was packed. If you're looking for some good home cooked style breakfast. This is it. The presentation was nice. Service was fast and the staff all very kind. The potatoes were delicious as well. Definitely recommend. More locations are definitely needed. Or at least a bigger one. It's slightly cramped inside but doesn't take away from the experience or the taste of the food. The mimosa I had was great too!

I dined at Urban Kitchen while paying a visit to my aunt in Delaware. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy we were greeted immediately and seated fairly quickly. The staff were very nice and welcoming. I ordered pancakes with bacon, eggs and a side of grits. The food was well prepared and delicious. No complaints at all.

Very busy and legit brunch place. The wait was 45 min on a Sunday morning. They have a pretty well-rounded menu, essentially with most of the breakfast/brunch items that one could think of. Their brunch alcohol menu seems interesting, too. We had the French toast and the Reuben sandwich. They were both tasty. The portion sizes were huge. The ambience was a lot of hustle bustle, like most brunch places on a Sunday morning. Their food is rather dense and carb/meat heavy, so for us, it might be a once every three months endeavor.

Crab cake Benedict so good!!! Home fries are perfect!!

I've been here several times and each time has been a great experience. The vibe in the restaurant is great - decor, music, etc. The only thing I will say is that maneuvering through the restaurant can get a little tight when it's crowded, but in no way would that keep me from going back. Food is AMAZING. Haven't ordered anything off the lunch/dinner part of the menu yet, but have tried the pancakes, french toast, eggs and most recently the crab benedict. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new favorite brunch location!

Came here for breakfast before hopping on the road to come back home; and I am GLAD we did! So they do NOT take reservations, so if you want breakfast, come here early. It is so cute inside! Everyone was so nice and we were seated immediately. Also, our server was so sweet!!! What we ordered: * Side of bacon and scrapple - Bacon is always a hit, and the scrapple! It's my favorite breakfast meat, and whoever cooked it, cooked it right. * Big breakfast (strawberry French toast, eggs, sausage and home fries) - French toast with as love, home fries were seasoned to perfection and sausage was good too * Side of sausage gravy and 2 biscuits - huge chunks of sausage in it, thick and creamy; just needs a little pepper and it was top tier. Plus, the biscuit was just as fresh. * Waffle with sausage - the little one cleaned his plate, so I can say he loved it * Crabcake Benedict with grits - SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!! And the crab cakes were such a nice size!!! The grits were good as well! * Strawberry fizz mimosa - delicious All I know is, I'm coming back! lol

They might take reservations for larger groups but they don't for a smaller party of 4 or so.

Really cute place but left very conflicted in terms of reviews…read more Made reservations because it was Wilmington restaurant week but we were the only people in there for a while. Started at a table and then learned there were happy hour specials only at the bar. They refused to give us HH pricing at our table even though we were the only people in there so we relocated to the bar. The bartender seemed skilled and looked like he was making an incredible cocktail. Both cocktails were absolutely terrible and tasted like perfume. Extreme let down. The meal had highlights like the shrimp and grits and steak, everything else was flavorless and not worth the money. It's a beautiful place and had live music but I don't think there's anything that would make me come back.

The seats are comfy, with backs, and there's a place to rest your feet. They have a few TVs, so you can watch sports too. The friendly bartender greeted us with menus and asked if we needed a minute before ordering drinks, and we did, because they have a nice, interesting, creative cocktail list. I had the Grill Your Fruit Honey, a whiskey drink, and it was delectable, but I was very tempted by the Does a Pear Spritz in the Woods? It was Saturday brunch time, so we got one item from their Brunchy menu and one from their main menu. We picked the Famous Post Breakfast Sandwhich with smoked chicken. The server recommended a runny egg, and it was perfect. I had my eye on the BLT, so we went with it. It was so good!! The bacon was thick, crispy, and so flavorful. The bread was perfectly toasted. We had a hard time picking a fav sandwhich, but I think the BLT won. We ordered a side of their cheesy grits, and they were award-winning, and I'm from the south, so I know grits.

Happy hour means $6 well drinks, so my standard is rum and diet Coke. Good drink, single pour of Cruzan. I chose to dine at the bar because the weather was a little steamy out. But I later took my second drink out onto their riverfront patio, and sat awhile in the shade of the building. It was lovely. For snacks, I ordered the blackened filet medallions and the garlic mussels. On a skewer, four hefty pieces of excellent beef were joined with a nifty horseradish dip. I did cut the steak into several bites per piece, so it was a good sized portion. My only preference would have been some garnish (greens maybe?). The mussels normally come with bread, but I let them keep it in the kitchen to sub my own GF bread from home. The broth was thin and lightly flavored, which I enjoyed almost like a soup (but was too embarrassed to tip the bowl). The patron to my right bemoaned the loss of a thicker broth from a previous recipe, so the bartender brought him some scampi butter which helped apparently. I really loved the light broth and found it soaked into the bread quite nicely. Friendly bartender gal cashed me out at my request before I took my drink on the patio. $30 plus tip, well spent. I could be a regular here, and look forward to another visit to Wilmington next time we are in Philly.

My wife and I ordered simple salads--nothing complicated--and it still took about an hour for the food to arrive. After we finished, our waitress disappeared and it took another 45 minutes just to get the check. At that point I was getting anxious because we needed to get back on the road. I even had to ask a busser to find our waitress. She apologized and mentioned she had a big party, but the issue wasn't just the check--it was the entire length and pace of the experience. The staff seemed nice, but the operation felt very disorganized, and the food itself wasn't particularly memorable. Unfortunately, we won't be rushing back

I heard of this place before but hadn't been and luckily they were still open that late so we headed over there. It was a Friday night, so the place was pretty full, with music playing throughout with some people our aged mixed on the college students there. We lucked out with two seats at the bar. For drinks, I initially ordered the Blue Rock Lemonade - in my mind I thought it would taste or be similar to lemonade cocktail drink I've had before... It was not that lol. Though I normally do like drinks on the sweeter side, this one was too much for me. But it may appeal to others taste. I ended up just asking for the same thing my boyfriend got which was a Margarita (I think pineapple flavor) which was much more satisfying. Again, we both were hungry and didn't feel like sharing apps or being there too late since we had to get up early. The Seafood Linguine caught my eye, so I ordered that while he got the Fish 'N Chips. There's was different in that they used catfish - we are used to seeing cod or haddock - but it came out pretty good. My dish was also pretty good, with a good mixture of seafood (shrimp, crab meat, mussels, clams) in it. We would come here again - earlier time though - to check out other items on the menu.

This is a lovely spot for a special occasion because they give you a giant sparkler for the guest of honor at the end of your meal. It's an intimate restaurant. I loved the unique lights at the tables that felt like taper candles. I'm not sure if it's because of what we ordered, but wait times were really long. It took about an hour for us to get our entrees. Thankfully we were in good company. And our party enjoyed their cocktails. We started with the brussels and cauliflower. This was beyond delicious. You have to order this as a starter. They had a quail special and monkfish special the evening we were there. The birthday girl ordered the quail. It took about an hour to arrive and came undercooked. Thankfully they were kind about cooking it more. I think she enjoyed it once she got to eat. Her husband got the pork chops. I shared the monkfish with a friend and really enjoyed it. We also got the seared tuna for the table and that was good too. Our waitress was super kind especially with the food hiccups. They have one gender neutral restroom stall. It has the prettiest wallpaper. We were stuffed by the time the dessert menus came out. Thankfully they still gave us a mini scoop of ice cream for the birthday girl with a sparkler. It was lots of fun. I think wait times were long for the specials and if we stuck to the regular menu things would've arrived faster. I'd go back to try more yummy food.
