Our six figure, "3-4 month" backyard renovation ended up taking 11 months, with an additional 4-5…read moremonths for "warranty work" to address issues like leaking pool equipment and a warped pergola roof that drained water back onto the covered space. The final product is so poorly constructed that I have spent spent thousands of dollars in additional legal and engineering fees in an attempt to recoup costs for what is clearly a poorly executed project. But don't take my word for it. Here is a direct quote from the engineering report I commissioned: "The patio slab exhibits grading and finishing defects that cause ponding and direct runoff toward the structure and toward the pool perimeter. The patio-to-garage interface lacks typical moisture clearance provisions, increasing deterioration risk. The pergola structure exhibits material deviations from the structural drawings in anchorage, weld completeness, connection detailing, and framing geometry that may compromise structural performance and safety. The polycarbonate roof panels retain water within internal cells, indicating deficient edge detailing and/or installation coordination. The original pool equipment pad distress further reflects early construction deficiencies and inadequate support and/or detailing at slab-to-structure interfaces. The pool installation deviates from manufacturer requirements for hydrostatic relief, drainage, backfill separation, and impervious perimeter detailing, and the Terra Dura design drawings reviewed are inconsistent with the manufacturer's impervious surround requirement. Collectively, these conditions are foreseeable, preventable, and materially affect performance, durability, and safety. Overall, both the design coordination and installation workmanship for the patio, pergola, and pool installations are inconsistent with manufacturer requirements and accepted standards of good workmanlike construction."

We were thrilled with the final outcome of Crafted Outdoor Living, however in the past 10 months…read morewe've encountered a number of small fixes with no help from Jeremy, even though there was a warranty on the work. Jeremy's communication was a little slow during the construction process, but very flakey upon completion. Originally we had issues with two sprinkler heads, which Jeremy 'fixed" a few weeks later, however this summer the grass died nearby and had to have a professional re-install--he confirmed they weren't the right heads. I'd recommend using a third party for irrigation to save the headache. Additional issues include: 20+ plants dying prior to the winter freeze, gate not properly installed, concrete chipping and now outdoor lighting issues. In Jan./Feb. I tried multiple times to have Jeremy stop by, however he never showed even though he confirmed multiple days. We even were trying to give him more work but went quiet even though we communicated via text and email. @Hanley please read email from Jan. 28 requesting help with gate, lights and additional work opportunities. We still love the work Jeremy and crew did, however the communication and lack of warranty follow-thru have been disappointing but we still enjoy the space he created.

I previously left a negative review after months of waiting and repeated attempts to get in touch with Jeremy, all with no response. Only after that review was posted did he finally reach out and say he would come back to address the issues. Wanting to be fair, I took the review down and gave him one last chance. Jeremy did stop by and assured us he would fix the problems. Unfortunately, that reassurance led nowhere. He did not follow through on what he said he would do, and once again we were left disappointed. Now, only a couple of years later, we've discovered major issues with the very expensive turf he installed. The groundwork was not properly laid, and as a result the turf is failing. Turf of this cost should last at least 15 years -- not two. This has been a costly and frustrating experience. The lack of communication, broken promises, and poor workmanship have left us with significant problems that should never have happened in the first place. I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. If you don't want to risk regret later, I strongly recommend staying away from this company.

He worked hard to come up with an irrigation system remodel that saved lots of time and money on an old inadequate system. He also was good at solving problems that were uncovered as the project was underway. He worked tirelessly to match stonework on a wall that needed to be built to solve an irrigation issue. His workers are craftsmen and care a lot about their work. You can not even tell it was built at a different time than my other walls and pool rock work. I was very particular because the wall has lots of detail with multiple types of stone with a limestone cap. I am very pleased with the results. He has very good design skills as well as knowledge of plants that will thrive in specific areas. He spends lots of time finding the right plants to work in your yard. This combination of skills and attention to detail makes him a good choice for any problem areas you may have. I am very excited to have a new, beautiful, lush landscape to enjoy in my backyard! We're…read moreout on some property and unfortunately here in Central Tx runoff even on high ground is inevitable. I though his crew was just going to install crushed road paver with reinforced timber. My wife and I were amazed after they completed the project. The "road paver" looked like a professionally engineered home foundation! He constructed a full retaining wall. And to further divert the water's flow they graded away from our building installing a massive drainage pipe below ground! Landcraft design also routinely prunes our undergrowth and oaks. Richard is very knowledgeable cleaning his tools and sealing the wounds. In all the years we've been here there has never been a sign of wilt. We're blessed to be on such beautiful land... and get to see it without all those juniper and cedar saplings stealing all the water and ravaging our allergies.

We did a complete backyard overhaul and transformed it from a bare mud pit to a backyard oasis that we now love spending time in now: new sod on half the hard, paver patio and crushed granite on the other half, limestone retaining wall and mulch bed on the back wall, drainage, and irrigation through out. We had an old and non functioning irrigation system that we inherited from the previous owners and rather than just ripping it up and charging us for a new one, Aaron spent hours servicing and getting it to work, and then customized it to work with the new yard layout. We also had some freak of nature downpour of rain pretty soon after the big project was complete, which washed away some of the granite and caused the patio to settle with some dips. Aaron came back and fixed it all and added in additional drainage to keep it from happening again. This company is reckless and unskilled. These tree rings and patio were completed 2 weeks ago and…read moreare already breaking apart as you can see from the pictures. They overcharged for work they did not know how to do. When I questioned their methods and repeated 2 outside professionals' expert explanations of the issues, they condescendingly told me to "google the ramming earth method they have used for 20 years" and acted like I was overrating to my patio caving in on itself. I did google it and found out it was indeed the wrong method for a raised/sealed patio and would cause it to sink into the ground and break, which you can see is already happening mere weeks later. When I asked how they would fix the issue they said they would remove an isolated area of stone that dipped into the center to reinforce that part and add more mortar to the top to fill in the sinking seams. The issue is that they used permeable sand that allows water to break down the seams and because the base isn't reinforced with cement/rebar, the water that leaks in and the weight of the stones make it sink deeper and breakdown into itself. I had stopped payment on my second check so we could work out a solution but other professional opinions were their solution wouldn't actually resolve the problems, it would just keep happening. They told me to use the second half of my payment to hire someone else, so I did. When I asked them for the remaining refund of the patio (excluding the tree rings that weren't even circles and had already cracked apart) because I didn't want to pay for something that needed to be demolished and redone, they responded with a bill and threats. The email was attempting to convince me that I had accepted their work and was there to oversee it all, which I wasn't and also, I'm not a foreman or masonry - I accepted ugly work but didn't realize it would also fall apart. They attached a bill for full payment, going back on their previous statement to keep it, and threatened to put a lien on my property if I didn't pay. Luckily, that was unlawful. I replied inviting them to see what has happened to their work over the last couple of weeks and provided them with access to a photo drive with over 100 photos and a video so they could see their work. They accesses the photos but ghosted me. If they, and their work, had integrity they would have handled this situation respectfully and appropriately. I don't want others to have to be in my position so I'm sharing my experience in hopes to prevent you from getting a hazard installed on your property and having to pay twice.
