I ate the world's best hamburger there last night; the ABSOLUTE best! I was torn between two on the menu until the server helped me to decide. I went with the Philly Cheeseburger hamburger, and I was not prepared for how well done this meal was! When I bit into this burger, I was astonished at how the chef was able to get this to taste EXACTLY like a Philly Cheesesteak ON TOP of a burger. It was wonderful. Our server was great as well. This place is the real deal!!! Everything was amazing and service was probably the best I've ever had. It was a Saturday afternoon during a festival and we got seated right away and our food and beer came out almost immediately after we ordered them. The workers were super nice and the food was good. However the portions could have been bigger for the amount of money the items cost. Two that we got were good - something Mamacita burger (I forget the name, but I liked this more) and Holy Guacamole (burger of the month that came back over and over). My husband and I were in Chattanooga for business and on the way home we decided to find a good burger place. We stumbled across Urban Stack Burger 48 minutes after arriving; we were finally seated. We ordered Stawberry Blonde and Wicked Tea (cant remember name). The drinks were great! We also each ordered Hercules as our meal. My husbands burger cooked well was hot, but dry. My burger cooked meduim well was cold and dry. We were deceived by the reviews and the line. Im sorry the Hercules was not worth $11.99. What makes it bad we paid extra for cold string fries. Went here with my family, a 20 minute drive from home. Was NOT dissapointed! My order came out as the wrong salad at first (a chief's salad as opposed to the Farmhouse I ordered) but was swiftly fixed by our server, Zach. He and the manager on duty were very apologetic, but there was no need too! I have never had a restaurant handle something like this small problem so appropriately and making sure I was happy. It's not like they did it on purpose and they quickly fixed it. My husband had the Spicy Asian Q and my son had the "Range Free" Chick sandwich. My son's meal is certainly one of the best values for a kids meal and with a portion I rarely see. My husband enjoyed two English beers and the burger with a side of their Gouda Cream corn. We came to urban stack because we wanted to give it a second chance. Our first experience was less than memorable but we figured everybody can have an off night. Our second encounter with this place confirmed our first impressions. The burgers are over rated. The mixed drinks are average at best. Go to Tremont Tavern if your in the mood for an awesome burger and beer. You'll end up paying less and parking is free. read more

The service was really good! We initially asked to sit inside but then decided to be outside and everyone was super accommodating to this. We had our baby with us and they have an awesome kids menu and the waiter, Dalton, was very sweet to our son. My husbands burger was delicious. It sucks the burgers don't come with fries and you have to pay extra for fries. I got a kale salad that was good. It has coconut in it .. yum! The side salad portion was plenty. The sweet potato fries were perfect! My only complaint is the burger didn't come automatically with fries. And the bun wasn't anything special with the burger. Oh and the pickles weren't good. This place is another nice lunch spot. It's an older building that sits next to the train tracks. I have asked a few food service folks where to eat and this place came up. I have also used me yelp app (as I always do) and found it too. So on this trip I ordered a lamb burger with feta and cucumbers. Then onion rings as a side. The burger was a little over from which I ordered it but it was mighty tasty. Now I make a lamb belly bacon that would have sent this one though the roof. The burger, that's what I here for. It was yummy but not real lamby in flavor. The cucumber and pickle red onions mixed with the feta spread really gave you that tzatziki flavors. Now the onion rings were alright nothing special. A couple of them were under making the onion tough. You know when you bite into it and the onion pulls out of the breading. In all it was a really good burger and I wish I lived a little closer. The Urban Stack Burger L ounge 12 W 13th St Chattanooga, TN I've been skeptical of the buzz that's swarmed around Urban Stack. What could possibly be so special about a burger joint unless it's run by Hubert Keller? And a "Burger Lounge"? How exactly does a burger lounge? But, the buzz has persisted since the opening, and due diligence demanded a visit. Approaching Stack required walking through a milling throng, or perhaps semi-throng of young people waiting to enter. The patio was full, and there was a line inside. Although Stack technically doesn't take reservations, they were more then accommodating for our party, and our table was ready. Stack is located in one of the numerous out buildings previously part of Southern Railroad. The room has exposed brick walls, no decoration to speak of and low ceiling. It is LOUD. In fact, it is PAINFULLY LOUD. Here, the annoying habit of servers kneeling to take orders, etc. is actually necessary, especially when members of one or more tables commence to SHRIEKING. The bar area looks more open, and airy and has higher ceiling. Service was routinely accurate, attentive, friendly and helpful. The sole exception was that food arrived at table warm, not hot (fries, burgers, et al) an error that would easily be corrected by better staffing. In addition to touting their burgers and mixed drinks, Stack spends an inordinate amount of energy broadcasting that everything is made in house or locally, and that all the ingredients are of local origin. These notices are on the walls, on the menus and, I suspect, in the restrooms. Pride is commendable, but in this case false pride amounts to false advertising. The french fries and onion rings, although of good quality, were clearly commercial products. I seriously doubt Stack makes it's own ketchup to which to add chipotle or that they use fresh corn to make their corn and cheese appetizer. More, I can not imagine that the pastrami and capicollo are locally made. But then, I can't imagine why anyone would order either as a topping for a burger. What's next? Fried calamari (locally raised, of course)? Sashimi grade tuna? Crickets? The menu invites guests to customize their burgers with any number of topping variations. Absent from the menu is a plain ol' burger with lettuce, tomato and the Stack standard balsamic onions and chipotle ketchup. The least expensive choice is slice of cheese burger for $6.99. There are three turkey burger options, a veggie-mushroom burger, and a lamb burger, $11.99. A kitchen sink burger was not available under that name, but almost any topping you wouldn't think of is available. The burgers themselves are good portions, properly cooked, and juicy. So juicy in fact that cooked at medium or less, the bottom bun (Niedlov's) becomes soaked and a knife and fork are needed. The meat seems to be of good quality, but even with the standard toppings, the meat's flavor is overwhelmed. Not all the toppings are overwhelming; the cheese slice is so thin that, when melted, one can see the burger through the cheese, which leaves no flavor impression. Other toppings, such as the green chilies in the South Western Burger, are well developed and full of flavor, although, again, they obscure the flavor of the meat. Reading the menu listing of toppings would give a good idea of the flavor profile of the finished product. There is no need to further belabor the burgers. Stack has a very nice list of beers at moderate prices. The mixed drinks seem a little dear, but I ceased buying mixed drinks when bartenders became mixologists. Visited Urban Stack on July 4 weekend for lunch while spend a couple of days in Chattanooga. Very cool place. Feels like Flip in Atlanta...I had the Bacon burger, my wife the Mushroom swiss, the kids had a hotdog and a grilled chicken sandwich. The Chicken sandwich was a dud - my 7 year old barely touched it. However everything else was outstanding, however you can probably skip the Bacon Manhattan cocktail...a little strange, but if you're adventurous go for it. This place does serve a great burger but the service will leave you wanting. We came and sat on the deck area to avoid the wait because we were told it was heated. . It was warmer than outside but not by a lot so only go out if you are dressed warmly. I got the green chili burger and it tasted great. I loved the pickle slices and guess they cut and make their own pickles. They sweet potatoes fries were a bit over fried but still good. All the food was pretty solid. What was bad was the service. It wasn't just bad it was awful. Instead of harping the short is the server was slow in taking orders the entire time, drink orders had to be asked for several times before received and food didn't come to us as order. We went for lunch on Tuesday a few weeks ago. Then for dinner. Then for lunch the next day. Then for dinner again. Then for lunch again. Then two of us went back a few weeks later because we happened to be driving through Chattanooga around dinnertime. It's that good. Between us, my three coworkers and I tried almost every burger on the menu. Every single one was delicious. Seriously. Maybe not quite as life-changing as the burger from the food court in Roanoke, VA that changed my views on burgers forever - but close. Pay for the upgraded beef, and ask for a little bit of pink. You won't be disappointed. Oh, and the onion rings are among the best I've ever had. Chipotle ketchup and horseradish sauce are both very very tasty as well. Damnit, my mouth is watering just writing this. We met the owner on our third visit, and chatted with him about the place.
