We were a huge group of 7 adults and 8 kids (4 through 11 yrs old). Insane! Tried to go to Terminal Brewhouse a few blocks away first but they couldn't seat us (even separately) at 5:15pm. The wait would be 45mins to 1hr, I was told. Not possible with that many kids with us. As Urban Stack was my other choice anyway, I called to ask if they could seat us and was told that they could!! So off we went. They were able to put us in 3 booths that were all in the same section of the restaurant. We piled all the kids into this corner booth and the adults took up 2 other booths for 4 people each. Worked great! The extensive choice of burgers were mouthwatering. There were vegetarian options too, if anyone was wondering. Grassfed beef, locally sourced etc. featured all over the menu. I ended up choosing the "Asian Q" using Kobe style Waygu beef done with a Korean flare. Cucumber kimchi - yum!! I opted to swap out the buns for lettuce leaves. Great move! It was so tasty! Oh, and I had the sweet potato fries. Highly recommend! Had the beer taster flights. All were really good as well. What a satisfying meal after an exhausting day chaperoning kids around the Children Museum all day. Would come back for sure. read more

It was completely packed when we visited, but a few minutes of mild lurking near the bar led to two good seats - we had dinner here and took our name off the weight list. Came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon during a weekend visit to Chattanooga. A friend told me he had the best burger he ever had in his life here, so I had to give it a try. He told me to be sure to get the Waygu beef. As soon as I arrived, i knew coming here was the right move. The service was amazing. David, whom I I believe is the owner took care of every and even gave a first hand guide of places to go in the city. I had a margarita that was so yummy I ordered a 2nd before I finished the first. I also had a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms and A1... and of course I requested the waygu beef. The first bite was so amazing, I literally stood up and walked away from the table to have an moment... LOL!!! OMG... the beef was so delicious and just indescribably yummy! i thought this place was beautiful. the burger and menu of toppings was EXCELLENT. the hand cut fries did not seem hand cut but i'll believe them. there weren't bad at all but just seemed ore-ida. the sweet potato fries were some of the best ive tried. burgers were good but not anything special. just textbook and that not a knock at all. smores shake was AWESOME. id suggest making them BIGGER or even with the silver canister to give it some feel of authenticity. they have some really creative flavors that i wish they had like a milk shake sampler of large shots of each. i know itd be a bitch to the kitchen but you could charge a good premium on it. like a sampler. hell even serve them like test tubes. one thing i really didn't like is how 2/3 of the menu is just every mathematical combination of all their amazing ingredients. 3 reasons: 1) i think it overwhelms the customer - nothing gets highlighted since you're reading through so many details 2) i think if it was rearranged itd be a good way to really stress those items that may cost more or have more premium ingredients. i think id cut this in half and stress a make your own combination. My bf and I live in bham we found this place on yelp and visited while in Chattanooga. First off this place is always clean. Everyone who we have talked to who works there has been outstanding and provided great service. The atmosphere is good. Now to the food it is fantastic the Asian Q is great the hello sunshine is awesome the gruyere corn is my favorite and the sweet potato fries and chipotle ketchup is great! Dropped by during lunch one weekend while in town. It was a pretty day so we opted to sit out on the patio. Walking through the restaurant, it looked clean and the decor was modern. There is a little bit of a hipster vibe. Looking over the menu after we sat down, I was impressed with the "natural" selection of food (grass-fed cattle and local homemade breads used). We started off with an appetizer, the pickle plate. I was a little disappointed with it. It was basically raw pickle chips in a small mason jar with vinegar and seasonings. The name is a bit deceiving. Unfortunately, there were flies going bananas the whole time the pickles sat on our table. We weren't sad to see that dish go. For our main plate we of course ordered burgers. They were tasty! A little greasy but not dripping or sloppy. (They also offer chicken sandwiches and veggie burgers.) On the recommendation of our server, we ordered the creamed corn as a side. It was an extra $5 for that side but worth it. The creamed corn was probably one of my favorite things I had. Our server described it as "creamed corn on steroids" and he was right. If you like spirits, there's is a pretty extensive alcohol menu including high end liquor, aged scotch and whiskey. We tried the most popular mixed drinks our server recommended: the 'Southern Bell', the 'Tennessee Jed', and the 'Bacon Manhattan'. All stout, all good. They run at about $9-$10 a drink though. All in all, we had a great time. Our server was attentive and the food and drinks hit the spot. It does get pricey once you start adding on appetizers, drinks, and sides but if it's your first go around, it's worth going for the full experience. read more

After a 10-mile hike, I was super jazzed to sit down to a filthy burger. Unfortunately, my dinner at Urban Stack was fated to be a huge disappointment. This was early Saturday night, and they were SLAMMED. Good for them, but I thought this may be a major hurdle to quelling my hunger. Luckily, not two minutes after taking a buzzer from the friendly hostess, I was able to nab two seats at the bar for my boyfriend and me. I was pretty excited, as I was beyond starving. I was a little thrown by their small beer selection, with only one option for local Chattanooga beer. I settled on a 23-oz. Chestnut Street Brown Ale, which was super yummy (pat yourself on the back, Chattanooga Brewing Co.!). After looking over the menu, I settled on the Fried Green Tomato burger. The bartender asked if I'd like to upgrade to the Wagyu Kobe Beef. "Why, yes...yes...I think that would be an excellent idea." And so began my gleeful anticipation. About 10 minutes later, my burger was delivered to me. At first glace, I was pretty happy. A pillowy bun from Niedlov's Breadworks hugged my Kobe patty. I took the top off to get a look at the guts, and that's when I got really sad. The tiniest fried green tomato lay atop my burger. It resembled a pickle more than a tomato. Considering its namesake, I really expected a nice, beefy slice of tomato fried in heavenly cornmeal glory. While I ordered my burger medium, I was given well done. I didn't realize until after my visit that they completely forgot my Benton's bacon, as I'd not seen it in the description (I was a wee bit delirious from my earlier hiking adventures!). I was ravenous, so I ate every bit of this burger, but there was nothing memorable about it. Nothing. Adding insult to injury, with the Wagyu upgrade, this was a $13 investment with no sides whatsoever. I was bummed. When I realized I hadn't noticed the missing bacon, I was SUPER bummed. Service was abysmal as well, but, as I said, they were slammed. No one checked on us after we received our food. We finally just asked a bartender for our check. I can usually look past inattentive service if the food's top notch. That being said, this was not a fun experience. read more

Had heard a lot about this restaurant on blogs before traveling to Chattanooga. The atmosphere was cool. It was a Friday so we did have to wait about 20 min. The pimento cheese dip was AMAZING! I got the southern belle cocktail and it was tasty. Their burger all have different ethnicity and cultural themes to them which is different from other gourmet burger places I've been. I got the hamberguesa mamacita and my boyfriend got the Hercules (Greek themed). We both enjoyed them (me more than my boyfriend). I will come back again when I'm back. read more

We finally got to Urban Stack after our recent move to Chattanooga. Hubby ordered the spicy veggie burger and said it was the best veggie burger he has eaten! My Mushroom burger was great, could have used a few more mushrooms. We each had a side Kale salad, a little pricy for,the size but fantastic salad. The burger combinations and options are some of the best in Chattanooga, and I thought the service was great! Make sure you try the Fried Bologna Sandwiches appetizer. This place has amazing customer service and food! I had spilt ketchup all over my shorts and not only did they come over with napkins right away, they also came back a minute later with soda water to help get out the stain. Only about two minutes later is when the manager came over to apologize and offered a free milkshake. They were super nice to us the entire time. The food was also amazing! Really delicious burger. I had the cheeseburger with jalapeños added which they grilled them at my request. Server was attentive and pleasant. The spicy pickles were a pleasant surprise. Fries aren't included, which I don't like, and for that reason I would say prices are high because you pay for each item individually. What I couldn't get buy was the price, and dif I mention that you have to pay for fries separately? Huh? The Urban Stack specializes in burgers and my girlfriend and I wanted a good burger after having just visited Lookout Mountain. The decor of the restaurant is nice, cool, and comfortable and we sat on the patio out back. We did have to park in the parking lot behind the restaurant but the parking fee was reasonable. The service was also really good. No complaints there. They had a huge variety of burgers and, while many of them were not my cup of tea, there were plenty to choose from on the menu to make my mouth water. I had a chili and cheese burger and it was very messy (as you would expect) but very good. It really hit the spot after the long hike on the mountain. I recommend Urban Stack to family and friends and will tell them to visit there if they are looking for a good burger place in Chattanooga. read more

However, if you order the dinner size of the 3 Little Pigs Chili to-go, be prepared for a "bowl" the size of a very small coffee cup! And for this small portion, be prepared to part with $8. The sole reason this restaurant receives two stars is that all four bites of this...meal...had a unique smoky flavor that is not a carbon copy of a competitor.
