Store is a bit expensive, but you are giving back with every purchase. Staff was pleasant. I was helped by the most soft spoken Columbia woman, I wish I remembered her name- the only reason for referring to her ethnicity. Very clean- so clean you don't want to even want to touch anything. I bought a $30 bracelet, supporting the "Not One More" cause. So far I've had a few people ask where I got it and what it was about. Definitely one of the best purchases I've ever made. read more

Wow! Urban Zen - where do I start?! Prepare for a sensory experience. The moment you enter your senses start awakening. The sights, the sounds, the smell, the art, the beautiful clothing- is all arranged in such a way as to make you feel like you are being transported - that you are, in fact, part of the journey. That (from what I have read) is very much part of Ms. Karan's evolved philosophy. She has transitioned from 'Dressing' women to 'Addressing' women. It is not just about the clothes - but, my god, the clothes - they are beautiful! The way they drape, the artful tactility, the way they seamlessly transition from day-to-night. These clothes are pricey to be sure - but are timeless. They are luxurious. They are effortless. They are comfortable! When I wear them I never feel more confident, more fearless! The fact that part of UZ proceeds from sales go to support Caregivers here in the US, developing Artisans across the world and other important initiatives makes me feel like I am doing a small part (as my budget allows!) to help. A win-win to be sure. I would be remiss if I did not rave about the customer service. Some of the most helpful, soulful and inspiring people I have EVER met work at UZ. (Shout out to Leslie!). They are helpful, but not pushy, knowledgeable but not haughty. They really try to listen to YOUR lifestyle needs and 'address' those needs through beautiful clothing and accessories. I have shopped at urban Zen both in Sag Harbor and Manhattan . I've accumulated quite a nice wardrobe. I have loved her cashmere line in dresses and tops, very "Donna" style. Here's the problem , almost all of the dresses I own have torn at the seams, my favorite black cashmere tube top ripped under-the arm, Pants too have torn at the seam. They were cared for , and favorite pieces in my wardrobe. The silk and linen dresses stretched , requiring altering . As much as I love Donna's style, cuts , the black , the iconic rusche, the bit of spandex added to silk , I want to make them aware issues exist. The fabrication, the folks sewing need to do better. Is anyone paying attention ?? I have tried to contact managerial staff, to no avail. I would appreciate a bit of dialogue. .... read more

AN ABSOLUTE DISASTER!! For a store with "Zen" in the title, this very expensive Donna Karan off shoot boutique is anything but. Expect shirts for around $700. After spending thousands of dollars on accessories and clothes that nearly all ended up having serious flaws, and in some cases completely fell apart the nightmare did not end there. I was actually told by the manager of the store that "Perhaps their clothing was too delicate for my lifestyle..." for the record, I am a hairstylist...lol. This is personally the WORST STORE I have ever patronized, and I would think a complete embarrassment to Donna Karan. read more

Terrible customer service. Several employees ignored me. When I finally found the fragrance section that I was looking for, a woman came over and just watched me. We exchanged a few words, but she looked at me like I was up to no good. I definitely felt surveilled and unwelcome. I'm not sure if she assumed that because I was young or black that I was trying to steal the samplers, but anyone who knows me knows that I'm an oil enthusiast. I'll buy from another Urban Zen, but definitely not this one. Learn some basic customer service. Your store is nice, so I'm sure all sorts of people wander. I'm certain that you don't treat them all like unwanted garbage. read more

Pricey, but great quality. Urban Zen is a foundation, so most of the profit goes to a philanthropic cause. Great store to visit.

Loved this place. Gorgeous clothes.... they give credit to the artists which I think is fantastic. The women working there were so nice to us. Really high quality customer service. We are not from New York but I will definitely save $$ and go back when in the city. read more
