After selecting pottery painting, canvas painting, or glass fusing you are explained the next steps. We each selected two objects to paint and spent the afternoon in the studio painting away. We go pick up our art in 10 days which is the processing time. The shop does have a strict 60 day policy to pickup within or your art is thrown out. A fun and unique experience!

Instructions were clear, supplies were all we needed and the instructor took time to help my husband when he fell behind (I mean, took his time). The space was set well for the crowd, and there was enough room that we weren't bumping elbows. Bring your own drink-- stop by a local brewery on the way or visit the Dunkin' next door if that's more your speed. As a comparison, this is much more of an art class than a Paint Nite experience, in my opinion. That was totally fine for us, as we planned more for the evening. The general selection of ceramics was a bit smaller than other local places, but they offer a variety of stuff to choose from. In addition to the adult paint nights, they also offer kids classes (two hours, drop off). We'll be back.

What's the point of paying for swim lesson if they keep canceling class and they only allow you to make up one class between sessions. The staff in the reception area can't tell you if there will be make up classes. The coach who teaches the class can't confirm. They all direct you to the swim director. There should be some better communication there.

I was looking at it, and someone walked by and said, "You can get that free map in the arts center ", and then shared they were an employee there. So off we went to the arts center (just 5 steps from the garage). Did we ever make it to our original destination, no, but we certainly had a fun time exploring the arts center and would definitely go back again. There is so much to do and see - all 3 levels (I excluded the basement as we never made it down there (pressed for time). When in the area, please make it a point to visit this spot. You will not be disappointed.

We spent our Fourth of July at Terrapin and it was absolutely wonderful! From being welcomed at the…read moredesk (I am so sorry I can't remember his name!), to our awesome guides Justin and Jasmine, to Scott who helped at the swing and doing the belay to get us down - we truly enjoyed the whole experience (despite the unbearable heat this weekend). Justin and Jasmine made sure we stayed hydrated, and regularly brought us into the air conditioning to avoid overheating. They ensured our safety every moment we were there. The rope course was insanely fun, the giant swing and zip line were a blast and our favorite part was honestly the rock climbing! Justin and Jasmine were fantastic - we will definitely come back (preferably not during a heat wave haha) and hope they will be our guides again - every single person today made it memorable for my family! This should be an opportunity to identify a solution comfortable for everyone affected by providing single use options, as opposed to telling my daughter "it's ok because he identifies as a she". It caused an uncomfortable situation for girls and concerns for parents. No young girl should feel uncomfortable or anxious using the restroom.

Bar-T is a summer camp for kids ages 5 to 12 near the Urbana area. There are lots of activities for…read morekids and during COVID, the staff and counselors are definitely following CDC guidelines by wearing face masks and adhering to social distancing guidelines by remaining 6 ft apart. Currently since there is no bus pick up or drop off, parents and guardians are picking up children in an organized fashion and time frame by last name. Bar-T staff has been organized and I remain impressed by the communication. The activities for kids that are offered are hiking at the creek, the kids go to the pool twice a day, they offer snacks twice a day and a popsicle treat. They play games such as soccer, hockey and relay races. The kids are outdoors most of the time, even if it rains. However if there is severe thunder storms they do remain indoors to ensure the kids and counselors remain safe. They even offer arts and craft projects each day. This week my son made a wooden snake and painted it. Previously he made a ceramic pot made of clay. My son loves this place and makes new friends and memories each summer. Even though the price has raised this year, I'm still glad my son was able to attend since he will be doing virtual learning in the fall.

My son has been training BJJ at Clinch Academy for about two years…read more It was an instant hit. We had been play-wrestling since he was practically a baby, so he loved it from day one. The changes we've seen have been incredible--endurance, posture, grip strength, balance, coordination, and overall body composition. In many ways, BJJ reminds me of gymnastics in how well it develops a child's entire body and creates a foundation that transfers into other sports. But the biggest change has been his confidence. He was a little shy and not always confident around other kids. Today, he is much more comfortable with himself, stays calm under pressure, stands up for himself, and even helps his friends when they're being picked on. That's what I love about BJJ. It doesn't teach kids to become bullies--quite the opposite. It teaches confidence without arrogance, strength without aggression, respect, discipline, and self-control. My wife was a little skeptical when I first chose BJJ for him. It didn't take long for her to understand why. The Rinehart family and the coaches are a huge part of what makes Clinch special. They reinforce many of the same values we're trying to teach our kids at home. And the coaching is excellent. Coach Josh brings a different level of intensity, especially on Saturdays. Mini one-on-one challenges, live rolling, fitness drills--hard work! It's probably my favorite class to watch because you can literally see the kids being pushed outside their comfort zones. Coach Jhondy is another great example for these kids. He actually started at Clinch as a kid himself and now coaches the next generation. The in-house and outside tournaments have also been great for my son--learning to manage nerves, compete, win, lose, and come back better. Most importantly, he's made real friendships at Clinch, including kids he spends time with outside the gym. I wish I had started BJJ myself at his age. I don't see this as just another childhood sport. I see Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becoming a lifelong companion for my son. Choosing Clinch Academy has been one of the best decisions we've made for him.

The difference between a big chain gym and a family-owned gym is that when you're a member at Clinch, you are family. The owners, staff, coaches, even other members genuinely care about each other and every person that walks in the front door, no matter your age, size, fitness or skill level. They are versatile, with a variety of classes for kids and adults, encouraging, positive, friendly, and welcoming. Personally, I have had some challenges since becoming a member that I could not have gotten through without them. When I miss a class, I'm not just missing an opportunity to workout, I'm missing Clinch... something else I never thought I'd say about a gym.
