If I could give them a 10 I would this place is awesome! The food was great the quality was awesome and service was fast and excellent! I order the Cobb salad and it was super fire. Chipotle ranch was my choice salad dressing and it was bomb little spice and had the ranch flavor as well! The focaccia bread was warm and so soft it was like a little cloud in my mouth. The chocolate chip cookie wow warm and delicious the best I've had! The lemonade is to die for any flavor the blueberry basil was of the hook. One of the guys that worked there gave me a sample and I was blown away! Restroom, dining and patio where all clean and smelled great! Staff was knowledgeable and polite. Right now if you're debating whether to try this place out or not, it worth a try! Was looking for something to split with my fiancée and we ordered the SoCal Chicken sandwich. The sandwich also comes with a side house salad. We asked them to split the meal and so we each got plate with half the sandwich and half the salad. The sandwich delicious and the salad complemented the meal nicely. For under $10 it was a great value for the quality we received. By no means would half fill me up but it was a nice meal to hold me over for a few hours. I look forward to coming back here in the future! read more

After coming here for an event, I knew with how delicious their food is, that I just had to come back and have their food again. The menu here is super simple and delicious. I think that their sandwiches are what they are most well known for here. They've got a sandwich with turkey and brie which I will be my go to if I can't ever think of what to get or I don't want to venture out. The most recent visit here, I got the Chimichurri Tri-Tip which was delicious as well and also did not disappoint. I love how much chimichurri was on the sandwich. The place inside is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and all smiles. Having been in sales before, I love the extra add-ons that they ask if you'd like while at the register. I ate here probably a week ago and from what I remember the food was good. I probably waited about 5 minutes for my food to be ready which was fine with me. This place is perfect for when you want to sit down but you don't want to wait long unlike most restaurants. I ate the sandwich and it was really good, I normally don't eat onions but I saw that it said they were pickled onions. If I didn't get the onions I think the sandwich wouldn't have been as good as it was, it brought just the right amount of flavor to the mix... It was not over powering at all. Tried this place for the first time tonight. What a disappointment! First things first, I asked for a menu that included the nutrition facts since I don't eat certain foods due to allergies, and the manager told me that I could "look it up online"..... first red flag.... it's 2018 isn't that required by now? My boyfriend ordered the So-Cal sandwich and I ordered the Rustic Rosemary sandwich to go. Our order was put in at 8:15pm and we didn't get our food until 8:37pm. A 22 minute wait usually wouldn't bother me, but at that time there were 4 employees who seemed to be on the clock and maybe a total of 5 other guest that had previously been served their food. The manager tried to remedy the long wait with some bonus cookies as an apology which would have worked BUT yet again there was another issue. We were given a Southwest sandwich instead of the So-Cal sandwich and a soggy Rosemary sandwich since it had been sitting there so long. The food, although pretty tasty, definitely isn't worth the time and money wasted there tonight. We will not be coming back. read more

What a great place to stop in and pick up lunch. Placed an order online for the Sante fe chicken, Banh Mi sandwiches and kids pizza. All served on focaccia bread. Absolutely delicious, I'd have to say mostly due to the bread, easy to chew sandwiches (you do have the option to substitute bread, but not sure why you'd want to). I did end up liking the Banh Mi sandwich better, and now I'm afraid I won't be able to eat one anywhere else. Both sandwiches were not soggy, not overdone with the toppings and it comes with a side salad or you can substitute fruit. The kids meal came with fruit which they forgot, so we did have to go back in to get. Luckily we weren't far and they didn't hesitate, apologized and gave us the fruit cup. Yep. The food here is definitely delicious, but if you're eating clean it's not the best option in the world. Sure, there's some salads on the menu, but they're hardly the healthy choice with ingredients like Applewood-smoked bacon, blackberry bbq sauce drizzle, and chipotle ranch dressing. You might as well just order a sandwich and make your visit here a cheat day. The bread is unbelievable and it's pretty clear when you walk in that Urbane is a well-oiled machine with a couple different locations across California. The only thing that was annoying was the fact that there Wifi wasn't up and running. I guess I just assumed any place with Cafe in the name I'd be able to get a bit of work done. I am a huge fan of Urbane Cafe! My co worker introduced me to this spot one day and I was really excited to have another good, fast, healthy place so close to where I live. I had actually stopped at the one in Temecula about a year ago and I loved it, I didn't realize this was the same place until recently. So happy the expanded to Encinitas! I have now ordered from them several times since my first visit and I feel confident in saying that this place is great! The staff is so friendly and helpful. I went last week and the cashier let me sample their Peet's cold brew which was delicious! I've catered from them a couple times for work and get great feedback every time, people always ask, "where is this place?" Their salads and fresh, tasty and big portions. Their homemade bread is so fluffy. My co worker has raced about their sandwiches as has my husband. This was my second visit to an Urbane Cafe. The first visit was at the Temecula location and everything was perfect and a five star visit! This visit was at the Encinitas location and didn't quite live up to the experience I had in Temecula. When I walked in the two ladies working on the food both looked up and saw me but didn't acknowledge me at all. After about five minutes a man came out from the back and rushed up to greet me. He was extremely courteous and helpful. I assume he was the manager. He was very upbeat and energetic. It's a bummer that the two ladies working on the food didn't even so much as crack a smile my way, but this man made up for it. I had the Cafe salad. It was absolutely delicious! I love eating salad! I don't eat it necessarily because I'm looking for a healthy food option, although that's a benefit at times, but because I really just love salad! That being said this salad had a balsamic vinaigrette that was perfect mixed with chicken, avocado, pears , pecans and goat cheese! Everything was really fresh. The lettuce was crisp and the bread that came with it was to die for! I probably would have been happier about my visit if I didn't decide to use the restroom before leaving. There was literally mud all over the floor and no toilet seat covers or toilet paper. Super disappointing. Despite the restroom issue and lack of acknowledgement when I walked in, I really did enjoy my visit to Urbane Cafe. The food more than made up for those two things . I'll be back for sure. My wife had told me how Urbane Cafe in Linda Vista was one of her office's favorite lunch spots; enough to drive there from downtown. So when we saw the sign go in at the Encinitas Ranch Town Center, she got excited. I wrote it off as just a sandwich place. I was wrong. In the last three weeks, I've eaten at Urbane six times; not out of desperation, but because it's so good. I've described it to neighbors as Panera but actually good. The So Cal sandwich is perfectly balanced, the turkey club is truly outstanding. The green chili is tasty but has structural issues due to slippery ingredients that cause most of the filling to fall out of the bread. Urbane's signature house made flat bread is great in all of the sandwiches. The service is super friendly, almost to a fault. During the first week my meal was checked on by employees about ten times, but that's to be expected during the opening. Urbane is my new, favorite New Encinitas lunch spot and comes highly recommended. read more

I never write reviews but our experience was so disappointing based on all the good yelp reviews I felt I had to. Maybe we came on a bad night and hopefully that's the case but we got 4 meals and they were all poor. I got the protein salad with tri tip and the meat was cubed and very cold, very cold! Like left overs in the fridge cold. My son got the kids grilled cheese that seemed like it had been cooked a while ago and then given to us. It wasn't hot at all and appeared to have been sitting out. My daughter got the kids pizza and the cheese was not fully melted and the crust seemed like it hadn't been cooked at all. My wife got chicken Cobb and asked for no tomato and it seemed like there was extra tomato on it. The chicken was also very cold. We ended up at McDonalds after since we were all still hungry. Very generous portion of roasted turkey with candied bacon, roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, parmesan cheese, housemade spiced croutons, seasonal greens served with pumpkin spiced Caesar dressing and focaccia bread. My husband, who generally doesn't care for sandwiches, really loved the Moroccan ~ roasted Harissa chicken, spicy Moroccan aioli, pickled heirloom carrots, red onion and cucumber mix, mozzarella cheese, cilantro and arugula. We decided to go with the seasonal menu and choose the Mediterranean Grains salad, Fall Harvest Caesar Salad and the Kale sweet potato soup. The first salad (Mediterranean Grains) had mixed ancient grains, arugula, chicken, and a creamy dressing. The second salad (Fall Harvest Caesar) was even larger in size with sweet bacon bits, orange beet, pepitas seeds, and generous amounts of turkey breast pieces. The croutons are very unique, seasoned with fall spices. The Kale soup is hearty with vegetables and thick consistency. Wonderful new breath of fresh air in this shopping center! Had lunch there on the Yelp Elite Week and it was great. I had the chicken torta which was just tasty. The chicken is all white meat and it's nicely chunked and shredded. It was created perfectly. The lettuce was fantastic, sauce out of this world and the bread was perfect. It was a very wonderful sandwich. And the salad that came with it, wasn't too bad either. Even the soda choices were cool. My girlfriend had a quinoa chicken salad and she loved it. We looove this place. My 5 year old is obsessed with their turkey sandwich. It's her #1 favorite lunch place in town and I love it too so I don't mind coming there once a week. I haven't had one bad thing there. I've tried almost every sandwich at this point and love them all. Love the cilantro chicken salad and the seasonal beet salad they have right now. They obviously know flavor, seasoning and flavor combinations. They cook the way I like to eat and cook myself so I think their style just really suits mine. Blueberry basil lemonade is bomb too.
