    Happy Sunday.

My new favorite place. My reviews for restaurants have gone down in number because I really don't have to go anywhere else to eat. Their salads and sandwiches are so flavorful. The bread is the best part. I have to control myself from asking for more. Prices are fair until you ask for a fountain drink. I'm a water cup kind of girl. I'm happy Urbane Cafe exists.

Amazing ! Came twice in a day! Clean and staff were very welcoming! Food was delicious!

I've been here a couple of times. Once when they first opened and just recently. The place is small. But clean and well lit. You have the option to order through the r self service kiosks or in person. I've had the tri tip sandwich and the turkey cranberry Brie. Both are pretty good. It comes with a salad and balsamic dressing which I like. I do believe you can switch the sides to soup and other options. The staff is pretty friendly too. I'll come back.

Seriously my favorite spot. I love the food here. Service is wonderful. It's quick bite to eat, good sized portions delicious healthy food, not the kind that makes you sleepy and sloppy lol. I'm so happy they opened this place in Pedro! Definitely recommend.

New and clean with plenty of parking. Tons of outdoor seating. I gave it 3 stars because the Salmon Bowl was horrible and the BBQ tri tip sandwich was delicious. Salmon bowl - Dry!! Rice was so dry and felt undercooked. Salmon was so dry and not flaky at all. I could make better salmon at home. BBQ tri tip sandwich - Delicious soft bread. Warm. Good flavors. I would get sandwiches over the bowl for sure. Download the app for a free cookie.

It was the best of Urbane Cafes, it was the worst of Urbane Cafes. I honestly wasn't planning to stop by Urbane Cafe in Palos Verdes since it was way out of the way for me to go. However, I got an email announcing their grand opening there. "Oh cool," I thought to myself. The email also announced that if you order a sandwich, salad, or bowl between Jul 11 and Jul 18, you could get a free sandwich, salad, or bowl on your next visit. "Oh cool!!" I thought to myself. I was planning a day trip on Saturday, and I figured I could add a trip to this recently opened Urbane Cafe to my itinerary since it was just down the 110 from where I was at. I had to take the Channel St/Pacific Ave exit, turn right on Gaffey, and go left on Capitol before finally arriving at Western. Urbane Cafe in Palos Verdes is in a strip mall on the southwest corner of Capitol and Western. It appears this strip mall is going to be totally revamped because Google Streets shows a totally different set of businesses there. If you see or know of Sun's Pet Grooming, that is now Urbane Cafe. I hadn't really heard of Urbane Cafe before this year, but instantly became a fan when they opened a location in Long Beach, much closer to me. I love how the team in Long Beach treats all their customers like family, and I especially love the food they make there that I even got to share some with my coworkers via catering order. Unfortunately, I got none of those vibes on my first visit to this Palos Verdes location that I just had to start this review with some Charles Dickens. Since it was their second day of operation, they had a tent just outside the cafe that was supposed to welcome customers, but when I arrived, there was nobody under the tent! They had a table underneath where there were flyers advertising 20% off catering until August 31, Service Member Appreciation Days, and the offer I mentioned earlier in this review. But not having a human element aspect of the welcome tent was really a missed opportunity for some customers like yours truly; I might even argue that it was ominous! I had placed my order in the app because in order to qualify for the free entree, you have to place an order online or in the app; an in-person order wouldn't work, but several customers did this, presumably because they don't have the app yet. For whatever reason, I wasn't given a welcome by any of the employees, but when the other customers entered the cafe, the cashier would say welcome, and the rest of the team would follow suit. But my presence wasn't acknowledged? What am I, chopped liver?! I went to the rear of the cafe where they had 3 shelves of online pickup orders. One bag was already ready, but there were no employees overseeing the online orders. That bag wasn't mine, but since there wasn't any employee there, I could have easily taken that customer's order, which I'd never want to do! They also didn't announce when an online order was ready for pickup, so I had to keep a watchful eye to make sure nobody would take my order. I picked up my order about 4 minutes before my scheduled pickup time, but am not sure exactly when it was ready since, like I said, they didn't say my name when my order was ready for pickup. I sat at a table that wasn't cleaned up after the previous customer even though there were a handful of other tables inside since I'd much rather a family to be eating at a cleaner table instead. It wasn't that busy inside, so I was a little surprised nobody picked up table cleaning duties during my visit. I ordered the Salmon Salad with Chipotle Ranch dressing, which came with a side of focaccia bread. The salad was chock full of leafy greens, which I could tell after shaking the container to spread the Chipotle Ranch around. They could have added a little more of all the other toppings like the salmon, but especially the edamame. The jicama and mango salsa weren't as fresh tasting. The Chipotle Ranch wasn't very flavorful either, and that's one of my favorite dressings! I had to use some sriracha sauce to add some flavor to my salad. And lastly, the focaccia bread was a whole lot of nothing! I know it's just bread, but there should have been *some* flavor at least. Did they forget to brush the oil on top of the bread? Maybe. My only interaction with an employee was when I asked one where the utensils were, but she simply said she included one in my takeout bag. Well okay I guess, but it didn't totally answer my question. However, there were very few customers inside at the time, and I definitely felt like a fly on the wall. The cashier who made her rounds cleaning passed by me a couple times, including when I left, but she didn't even wish me a good day, perhaps a microcosm of the indifference in their service. The Salmon Salad didn't taste bad, but my overall experience at this Urbane Cafe was so lacking that, no joke, I even had to go to Chick-fil-A afterwards to finish my dinner. I doubt I'll return to this location.

My wife and I had an enjoyable breakfast experience, tasting some unique dishes that are worth coming in for. We had a real early errand in the Lomita area, so wanted to take advantage by trying a different breakfast place. They have a really informative website, explaining the owning family's participation and how some of their food is sourced. It's a brunch place (open from 8 am to 2/3 pm, Tu-Su), so needed to wait a bit outside (street parking only, found one hour free parking right in front since coming so early). Menus are available at the front counter, and you place and pay (clover) for your order first. The food came out soon after, delivered to your table. There is a self-serve water jug in the same area as take-as-you-need take-out containers (also saw a self-serve costco-size plastic wrap box for wrapping...such a Korean thing to do). Utensils and napkins are available at the table to take for need. I really like places like this that have optimized the service experience, getting what you need without having to track someone down. Forking Around's Filipino Burrito ($18.95) - a collab with the food influencer 'Forking Around' to put into a breakfast burrito, many common ingredients from a Filipino breakfast. This includes egg, garlic fried rice as base and a vegetable lumpia with longanisa pieces, wrapped in a good flour tortilla. Sides were both a cilantro lime crema and a well made sawsawan. The sausage was not too sweet nor too red (though perhaps a bit too meatloaf-like), and the lumpia in the burrito worked for me. Korean Breakfast with bulgogi and steamed rice ($19.95) - it was served in a cast-iron skillet and the pan had been heated up greatly...super hot when served and still warm by the time we left. The flavor of the bulgogi was solid, and I loved the presentation. Taco Truck Burrito ($17.95) - korean-style al pastor pork, with pineapple and kimchi fried rice and egg. It was good....forgot to ask if the meat was really cooked on a vertical rotisserie. Came with a good chipotle salsa and lime crema. We were done in 30 minutes, from entry to exit. It wasn't too busy, so asked the front-of-house lead where the longanisa sausage and lumpia were made...she stated that it was all in-house. That's really impressive, making an ingredient from scratch that is only used in one dish. This and the elegant presentation and longevity really shows that the entire team behind bites & bashes cafe (catering) knows what they are doing.

The service was really upbeat and friendly and our server was so kind and helpful. We asked him if the espresso martini had dairy in it (which I just discovered that is a thing at some places) and he double checked with the bartender to ensure there wasn't my dairy in it! I ordered that alongside a falafel wrap I must say, both of these worked so well together. The espresso martini was light and refreshing yet still had a bold flavor. The falafel was nice and crispy with a delectable inside and the tahini sauce was so rich and creamy. The meal felt indulgent yet hearty all at the same time. Kelly's Korner is one of those really fun cafés, not just because of the great food they serve, but…read morealso because of the location. Kelly's is located in what once was the Rolling Hill General Store. This business was established in the 30s, and Kelly's took over the location in the mid 1980s. Since then, this has been a great go to location to get that really fun snack and/or meal. What they offer is a really good selection of a lot of very tasty items. Everything is made with quality ingredients and a little bit of love. It's always a tasty place to grab that interesting something. With the offer is a good selection of salads, sandwiches, some pizza on French bread, pastries, along with some ice cream and other stuff like that. They really have a very good menu. There's really a lot of choices. And, from my experience, it's all really tasty. In terms of atmosphere, this business is really well put together. They have a number of very nice interior tables, if you want to stay out of the elements. Plus, they have a number of outdoor tables, if you wanna get that picnic vibe while enjoying your meal and/or drink. This business is located right off of PV Drive North. So, if you don't know the area, you may not know where it is. But, you can always GPS it. It's really worth the drive. Overall, this is a fun place to eat or grab that latte or other drink. It has a great atmosphere, both indoors and out. Great place!

Lots of quality meat Service: super nice folks but either I'm short or the folks behind the counter are at a higher level
