This breakfast was surprisingly delicious and I would say it's one of the best breakfast options in San Pedro or the South Bay in general. I've tried many of the other restaurants in the area and for some reason had missed this one because I don't live close by. This past weekend I gave it a try and thought it was terrific. There is a free parking lot attached on the side of the building so parking is very easy and inside is pretty large with booth seating as well as regular table seating. They also have outdoor seating as well, but it was a bit windy on the day we stopped in. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They also had a very large amount of limited time specials so I had to take them up on one of those options. We started off with the coffee cake and I thought it was pretty good although it was gigantic. I'm a bit more of a fan of the gooier coffee cake and this was a bit cake ear but still it was enjoyable. I also tried the spicy turkey chili and thought that was a 10 out of 10. I absolutely loved the amount of spice and it had some really great flavors. For my breakfast, I chose one of the specials, which was the Carne Asada Chilaquiles and thought it was terrific. It was a ton of meat and it was honestly more than I could finish, but I really enjoyed trying to. I would definitely recommend and would stop again next time I'm in the area. read more

Found this hidden gem when I was looking for a place to eat near by after going to Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro. Their service was great - super friendly and they even brought fans to keep flies away from our table. There was just one fly but they immediately came and let us use the fan which gave us a great impression. Food was generous and one dish was more than enough for two, but me and my husband each ordered a plate along with a bowl of clam chowder, onion rings and pancake w/fries for the kids to share so we had a ton to take home too haha The food didn't surprise me as much; The clam chowder wasn't what I expected but their fries and onion rings were good! I was thinking this could get four stars but ultimately felt a three was more accurate. It's a terrific location with a great staff but the food and coffee were really subpar. I had the breakfast burrito which was really average at best. But the coffee + which is the easiest to get right + was really awful. And no cream just the fake stuff. The places you find when your not really looking. We stumbled here while heading to another place for brunch. That didn't go so well as it wasn't what we were expecting. And then this place popped up. Of course we were literally around the block from it beforehand. It's a cute little cafe nestled right among a cute little residential block. It's like a if you know you know type of place as it's not on a main street. Literally at the end of a block where's its basically homes. So a neighborhood cafe. There was plenty of seating as it was mid week during lunch time. We walked in which has an open concept with the wide window looking outside. There's a bar area with counter hi top seating and a nice patio out front with umbrellas covered tables. It was a little breezy but had to make do as we had the little pup with us. Checked in with one of the server which she informed us to have a seat anywhere we like. A good amount of the guest did occupied the patio seating which we did to as it was nice out when your in the sun but a little breezy. Menu wise, it's mainly breakfast and lunch. They only open till 3. We started off with the bubbly special which was a bottle and a juice. Can't have brunch without mimosas. For the price it was great, 21.00 I believe. Meal, they had a board right when you walked in with daily specials. We went with an order of the lobster omelette and the tri tip sandwich. Both on the special. It was between the lobster or Philly steak omelette which we were informed that lobster was a favorite among the guest. That was served with either house potatoes or hash browns and toast, biscuits. And the tri tip was with curly fries. Plus an order of onion rings to accompany the meal. Omelette was quite tasty as I wasn't quite sure with the ratio of lobster. Quite honestly, it was decent size chunks inside and a good amount of it. The hollandaise sauce added that extra touch to it. Everything was delicious. The tri tip sandwich itself was excellent. Served on a roll which was tasty and the sauce used was amazing. It just made everything work all together. Plus both the seasoned fried and onion rings were excellent. Both with a nice crunch to it. Service was excellent. Our waitress was a doll and the sweetest. Food was great and the mimosa's special was the finish touch to a nice brunch. The cafe itself was a cute addition to the neighborhood. Street parking along the front. Not sure if there's parking in the back. My friend wanted to go here and I was taking him to breakfast, so we did. When I lived nearby I would have picked the place next door. So this may have been my first (and last) breakfast here. My friend got the breakfast quesadilla, which was oozing with cheese--seemingly low-quality cheese, that gooey-looking kind. A little paltry for the price of $18. Why no beans on the side? I was considering the lobster omelette for a whopping $25 and the waiter raved about it and I let myself be persuaded. It was terrible! Drenched in a creepily orange supposed hollandaise (as we know, see photo, Hollandaise sauce is not meant to be orange), which looked like it was poured from a can. Thin and no lemon. Just some cheap flavoring. The waiter insisted that they had "made it this morning," so maybe they made it from a powder from a packet? I was starving so joylessly I ate nearly half of it and then subsisted on eating most of a generous serving of hash browns. Perhaps I was too timid. When the waiter did not offer any compensation, or to get me another plate of something else, I just dutifully sucked it up. Then he asked if we wanted coffee cake -- which should have been on the house, since he clearly realized I was not happy with the lousy omelette. If I'd not been with a person I was only meeting for the first time, I'd have been more plaintive, but I did not want to embarrass them -- they live in the area, and I do not. But just YUCK. When another friend joined us to sit and chat after our plates had been taken away he told us how he'd given up on this joint. I suggest something be done about the food quality and value. read more

We sat outside on a neighborhood street with a view of the lighthouse in the distance-well you could see it from the middle of the street. The Lobster Benedict and the Carnitas Omelette specials were delicious but the accompanying country style potatoes were not soft or well seasoned. Great friendly service! read more

Celebrated my wife's BDay with family. First time for 5 of them and let's say they were not disappointed. The different dishes were DLicious but more impressive was the outstanding service by the entire staff, especially the owner. Place was packed, luckily I made reservations ahead so we didn't have to wait. All our dishes came out very quickly and although we had a party of 7, everyone got their food within a minute, no 5 or 6 then long wait for last one or two. My wife and I are first timers to this place and the area. My wife got the fried chicken and waffle and they were delicious. She said it was the best she's ever had. Disappointed. We have come previously and had good food and good service. Something changed. Not today. It's open seating but it takes a while for service. I had the chicken Cajun salad and my husband had the special - chopped beef and cheese sandwich with fries. Order was delivered without condiments. No follow up and we had to flag the bus person for drink refills. The party at the next table sent back their plate as their bacon wasn't crispy. The server dropped off her plate but never checked back with her to see if everything was ok. We could hear her complain and she didn't touch her bacon. It's loud. Difficult to converse because of noise from other tables. There is a credit card surcharge that isn't disclosed until you receive your receipt and the check automatically defaults to 20% tip. Amazing . Such a gem of a place. It's located in a residential area in San Pedro. This place is the light to brunch/breakfast places. We wanted to go to our pancake and omelette restaurant today but it was super packed so we diverged and checked this place out. I love me a breakfast spot! I was staying at a friend's nearby and just had to try this place. Seemed like a nice local spot. Found parking in the lot in the back and came on a good day with good weather. I could've sat outside but there was plenty of room inside. The service is friendly, everyone was super attentive. I brought the kids here for lunch after a morning of beach time. I was happy to find this spot close to the Korean Friendship Bell. There was ample parking in the lot and it wasn't too hot inside because the breeze came right in the big garage doors. I like how that is set up, like some breweries. This place seems like it's at the end of the earth. Take the 110 fwy south until it ends. Then take Pacific Ave south until just before you hit the ocean. Is it worth it? Well, as far as breakfast places go it's great. The staff all seem like local folks that really know what they're doing. Great beach vibe, open wall to the outside as well as patio dining. You can bring your dog if you have one. Parking is surprisingly easy and free. There are only a dozen or so tables but we never have any problem getting seated right away. Al fresco dining has its perils: flies. Not too bad but annoying on occasion. Can't imagine one can do much about it. Nothing else to complain about makes this place worthy of 5 stars. read more

I sat inside and ordered one of their specials, the sun dried tomato and artichoke omelette. I ordered it with a side of fruit and an English muffin, but got a side of potatoes instead, which was fine, since they were seasoned and exceptionally tasty. Almost addicting. Like most restaurants now days, the omelette was all yolk. They save the whites for those who order egg white omelettes (additional $2). However, the omelette also included chicken, asparagus, mushrooms, and two different types of shredded cheeses that forced me to eat the entire thing. I will definitely be back. Maybe try something else on the menu. The employees are friendly. Free, shared parking lot, and free street parking. Yes, it is a Diner Style restaurant but that being said the food is really a step above what you may expect for similar style establishments. Lighthouse Café, has both indoor and outdoor seating. They have a very well designed interior space with a few booths a long one of the walls and tables well spaced throughout the rest of the restaurant. As far as outdoor seating, they have several tables outside where you can catch the nice ocean air if that is what you desire. The staff here are all very friendly and they always greet their customers with a smile.
