    Thin hard waffle , avoid

We came here to have Belgian Waffles. After a few minutes' wait, we were seated. The menu is a typical breakfast menu with all the usual items. Service was slow and sure due to the morning rush. I could not believe how many flies there were at this restaurant. I was hoping we wouldn't be served one of them. We went ahead and ordered the waffles without realizing they weren't Belgian waffles. When the waitress brought our order, we noticed they were flat and thin, which made them a little hard to cut. I am disappointed that a business that called themselves waffle served thin, hard waffles.

We got here at 9am on a Saturday and no wait. Staff welcomed us as soon as we walked in. We loved the pumpkin waffle. It was crunchy yet chewy and a perfect texture. The melted butter was a plus! Omelette was good and biscuit and gravy was better than most. Would come here again because the menu is massive!

So this is my parent's favorite breakfast spot in the city. And I can see why, now that I've tried it out for myself. It's a classic diner type restaurant that serves good quality food at a reasonable price. It took me a minute to select an omelette since there were so many options on the menu. But I ultimately settled on the avocado, bacon, and cheese omelette. It came with home fried potatoes. The omelette, on its own, was pretty good. It was hearty and filling. However, when paired with their slightly spicy salsa (which doesn't come with the dish, but you can ask for), it was fantastic. Seriously, ask for the salsa. You'll thank me later. Can't say much about the home fried potatoes. The potatoes were good, but nothing special. The same can be said about the service. I don't have anything good or bad to say about it. The server did everything you would expect from a server, nothing more, nothing less. One note about this establishment before I conclude this review. They prefer cash. If you pay with a card, they will charge you an extra $1.50.

Amazing Food!! Very customizable, you can make your perfect style meal. We went around 11 am it was full and had to wait a little around 15 min. Once seated order and food came fast. The ambiance is a little to loud. But otherwise had a great 1st experience. Not to mention we got seated with one of the beautiful owners! Like she said quality control has to be number one thing. We are going back soon!

When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Today, I'm at O&WS. Since I prefer omelettes over waffles, I got the #3 Avocado, Bacon and Cheese Omelette and a cup of coffee. Pretty, pretty, pretty good. For the omelette, the hero was the avocado. The rich and creaminess texture from the avocado made the omelette that much more enjoyable. The toast was crunchy and buttery. The coffee was a nice medium roast. The home-fried potatoes were good. However, I prefer mine a little more crispier. Seating is available at the counter, booths and in the small patio area. Service was very friendly and prompt. There is a very small parking area. I opted to park in the residential area. TY for the owner's response. Definitely will be back to try a new meal. Kudos to the high commitment of the owner for customer satisfaction!

Upon walking in no line but didn't get noticed sitting on the chair to be seated , so I seated myself. I did get a menu but felt rushed to order. Mind you it's not busy. Got coffee and the bird special 2 eggs, sausage and pancakes with a side of sourdough toast. Waitress has not stopped at my table not once, since my order was brought to my table. My receipt was brought to me first, but yet I have so much food on my table. She didn't ask if I needed containers. NO TIP she didn't earn it A gentleman coming around filling up coffee was great. Food is average. The music is pretty good but has commercials. Over all 3.4/5 Not in the area often ,so chances are won't be back

What a gem! It's like an old school coffee shop that serves a gazillion things and they are all good! We stumbled upon this place and got there at 8a, it was nice surprise. The food and service were great. The store is very nostalgic.

Best breakfast in San Pedro! Service is great! Unfortunately the one down side is limited parking...

A decent stop for breakfast before heading over to the cruise port. But not quite as good as I had anticipated. Choose your seat and sit down then make your menu selections. For me it was the chicken and waffles with 2 scrambled eggs and a hot cocoa with a mountain of whipped cream. As well as 2 slices of heavily buttered wheat toasts which I did not request. My wife chose the San Pedro hobo omelette, sourdough toast and potatoes. She was probably more satisfied with her order than I was with mine. Chicken and Waffles: the chicken wings were fried and seasoned perfectly, I just thought the waffle (1) was too rubbery and hard to cut through, with a lackluster taste. 3/5 Scrambled Eggs: Something about them just tasted off. Definitely needing salt and pepper. 1/5 Wheat Toast: Not ordered by me and unaware of them being included in my order so I ate half of them. Well toasted but so much butter spread over them on arrival they were rather messy to handle. 3/5 Hobo Omelette: My wife seemed very satisfied by them but not the best she's had. And the potatoes which I also sampled, were below average. 3.5/5 Sourdough Toast: 4/5 Hot Cocoa: Delicious but much more whipped cream than I requested. 4/5 $45 and some change. Not including the tip. Cash preferred and street parking only.

This is one of those places that we found by complete accident. We chose to go for a drive from home to San Pedro and drove by. Since my wife and I are always looking for new spots we decided to come back a week later for breakfast. We were not disappointed! My wife ordered the kings Hawaiian French toast combo and I got their quickie pancake combo. I cannot stress how pleasantly surprised I was at how delicious the pancakes were. The were nice and fluffy and moist. Probably the best I've had. My wife's French toast were on point as well. She especially enjoyed the cinnamon sugar butter that was scooped on top. The scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy and my over medium eggs were also perfectly cooked. Our waitress was super attentive and checked on us frequently. It's definitely not quiet here on Sunday's at least, perhaps weekdays are. We even had the pleasure of meeting Mona the owner who picked up our plates. She was so appreciative of us coming in to eat. She was such a delight. Needless to say we will be coming back, most likely this week lol. What a great find

100 omelette options! Great options for everyone. Food was pretty good. Service was fast. Only complaint is that I asked the waiter for a to go box and another server came and took my half-full plate without asking; immediately stacking the plates before I even noticed it was gone. The to go box never came. Other than that, a good overall experience.

I have been coming here since my Sister introduced me to this great place in 1990!! This great place is owned by Mona and Leslie and when I first started coming it was half the size it is now. One thing that has not changed is the QUALITY food AND service! Everyone is friendly and they are busy but they never make you feel rushed. They are open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch, and they close at 3. They have the best waffles and omelettes. I ALWAYS order the Amigas scrambler which has tortilla, jack cheese, Ortega chili, chorizo, eggs, and it is phenomenal. Mona told me the story of this dish and I appreciate it even more, you should ask her about it sometime. This dish also comes with your choice of potatoes, and toast or tortilla. My hubby got the banana waffles which was very tasty with a combo adding two eggs and two sausage. Sausages here are nice and thick, very juicy and flavorful as well. I had an ice tea with lemon, which also has free refills. I also ordered a side of EXTRA CRISPY BACON not burnt, and it was cooked to perfection. It was thick, crunchy and very flavorful. I personally do not like paying $7.95 for a side of bacon, but here it is quality bacon, made right, so it was worth it. As my hubby said, it's not like we live next door and come here everyday. Our server did check on us plenty of times. The place is clean, and can be quite crowded in the mornings as well. Parking is a challenge in this area, so was happy to see a few spots available in the back again. Otherwise, you have to park on the street or across the street at the Vons shopping center, but well worth it though. Everytime we are in town, we come here and we always introduce our friends and family to this great place. See you next time Ladies!

I've tried many of the other restaurants in the area and for some reason had missed this one because I don't live close by. This past weekend I gave it a try and thought it was terrific. There is a free parking lot attached on the side of the building so parking is very easy and inside is pretty large with booth seating as well as regular table seating. They also have outdoor seating as well, but it was a bit windy on the day we stopped in. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out very fast. They also had a very large amount of limited time specials so I had to take them up on one of those options. We started off with the coffee cake and I thought it was pretty good although it was gigantic. I'm a bit more of a fan of the gooier coffee cake and this was a bit cake ear but still it was enjoyable. I also tried the spicy turkey chili and thought that was a 10 out of 10. I absolutely loved the amount of spice and it had some really great flavors. For my breakfast, I chose one of the specials, which was the Carne Asada Chilaquiles and thought it was terrific. It was a ton of meat and it was honestly more than I could finish, but I really enjoyed trying to. I would definitely recommend and would stop again next time I'm in the area.

I really hate to throw any shade on an independently own businesses. But, for your first-timers out there or you people thinking about going to the establishment, I think there's probably a couple of things that you should think about before you come to this café. First of all, let me speak about the high points. The staff here are all super nice. They do their job jobs very well, and they're very friendly. In terms of their food, it seems very well prepared, and it's always really tasty. They have a very nice cross-section of Americana, Cali/Mex, and other items that really make the selection of what you decide to eat truly an adventure. Plus, they have a really nice selection of drinks, including all of the expected: soft drinks, coffees, lattes, and all of that kind of stuff. They also have a few fairly unique drinks. All good! In terms of atmosphere, they have two main interior dining spaces. Both are very well presented, and the tables are nicely spaced apart so you never feel too close to the other customers in the restaurant, even when it's crowded. They also have a couple of outdoor tables, if that's your preference. If you want to sit out and enjoy the atmosphere. Again, all good! There's a few things that are a little bit funky about this restaurant, however, which always send me to wondering. The first is, they do not have their Health Department Grade displayed on their front window as is required. Generally, I've always found the only time restaurants don't show their grade is when they've received a lower than A marking. So, I don't know what Health Department Grading this restaurant has as it is not displayed. Simple as that. It makes me wonder. The other thing is, if you go to the restroom, you walk past their kitchen and their food preparations areas. You can't help but see the space. I don't know? It just seems a little bit funky back there. Then, when you go into the restroom, if I can be kind, it really needs a renovation. There's caulking and filler used all along the lower walls. Why? That's only known by the people who run this establishment. But, it's just a little bit funky back there. They have these upper shelves, covered with small draperies. Plus, there's an area where they keep their supplies, that it's just not a nice thing to look at when you're eating in a café. My feeling is this stuff should all be separated from the dining establishment so the customers don't have to look at it when they use the restroom. It's just not a good look. Overall, all this being said, this is an unique café, that offers some interesting dishes. I'm just telling you the facts. Make of it what you will.
