It is no surprise that the Corner Store will be celebrating 79 years in the community! The service has always been great the times I've gone. This review will be for my visit on 6/28 for a late breakfast. We ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was soooo good. It's my second time getting it because it's just that good. The first time I had the salsa it came with, I knew it was authentically made, because it tasted like my mom's homemade salsas! This visit I made sure to ask the sweet lady who brought out our food if she makes it, to which she shared that they did make it fresh in house! This visit we also got to meet the owner who was also very kind and welcoming to us. I would 100% recommend to everyone local or visitor to check it out for yourself! Not only is the food amazing but the atmosphere is perfect place to people watch, read a book, study, or meet a friend (and if you're lucky get to pet cute adoptable dogs) Lastly the Oreo cheesecake is freaking good!!!! read more

I stumbled into this corner store after a long walk in the area. I needed a place to stop for a snack and some water, and I'm so glad I found it. The store is tucked away in a residential neighborhood and is SO cute! There's plenty of seating and lots of fun little knickknacks to browse while you wait. Not only do they have snacks and drinks, but they also carry handcrafted local goods, which makes the space feel extra special. I picked up a few snacks for myself and my pup (yes, they even have a pet section with an amazing variety of homemade treats!). The good: I tried a Popeye's spinach wrap with turkey and bell peppers. The store is very cute and nestled in a neighborhood giving it a true "corner store" feel. The interior is spacious with vaulted ceilings and is very kid-friendly. They sell Melissa and Doug toys, placemats for kids, and have crayons out that kids can use to draw. I know they're known for their cheesecake but I tried the tres leches instead and it was great! It was balanced with the right amount of sweetness/moisture. The wrap comes with your choice of a side and I chose the chips. The salt and crunch helped balance the wrap which was softer/blander. The wrap tasted fresh and the bell pepper was refreshing and different. The bad: I wish the wrap came standard with mayo and mustard instead of us having to add it in from packets on the side. The server forgot to make the almond latte so I had to go up to the counter to request it. The almond latte tasted very much of artificial almond flavoring. My husband wasn't a huge fan of it. I didn't care for the canned peach slice on the tres leches but it did make it look pretty. The interesting: I like their random assortment of things in the store. Some stuff like wine and charcuterie boards were displayed on a long table. Other items displayed on an old stove. Beer in the back in the big fridge. Random shelves with chips or toys. Got the Breakfast Sandwich with Sausage. Very enjoyable. I had the bagel substituted with a croissant. The croissant was crispy, flaky and buttery. The gentleman behind the counter confirmed that the croissant was made in house. Good amount of cheesy gooeyness in the sandwich. Dining is available inside plus some tables outside. Ordering can be done at the register or via kiosk. TCS is located in the middle of a residential area. I went there on a Sunday morning and did not have any issues finding parking in the street. Glad I got to try it, they have pretty basic "cafe" food items like pastries and breakfast sandwiches, coffee etc. I ended up ordering a breakfast sandwich, and was able to substitute the bagel it comes on for a croissant which was really nice of them to do for me, along with a regular latte, it all tasted really good! Our food came out at a reasonable time but the drinks did take quite a while, however the worker formally apologized to us & said that's not typical for them & it just so happen to get busy right behind us, which was true! but I really appreciated her taking a moment to apologize for something she had not a lot of control over, that gave me really good vibes & is a 10/10 customer service for me! I appreciated the previous owners changing some things like opening the side yard, but I was lost when the Sailor's Delight fell off the menu. I can say it's back! BUT I am happy to say that I really think this new owner David seems to be putting in the necessary work to revive The Corner Store & I couldn't be happier ! Breakfast burritos in the Bay are never good, always $20, and when you ask for salsa they inevitably answer with -- is Tabasco ok? No. No it's not ok. It's a gem and the energy is odd now, the love felt sucked out of here , it's running low on many supplies and they aren't offering the same quality baked goods and items. There's a sign in the window that says for sale and the young lady at the counter said that it got sold to new owners and she's not sure what is happening ? Does anybody know what they're going to do with this place of neighborhood love and years of a personal touch to our community? We are so sad on what it looks like inside with empty shelves , hardly and desserts - it's lost it charm and neighborhood vibes. The food was not the same either. I noticed they were finally offering gluten free cookies and bread and tried a gluten free chocolate cookie and a Club sandwich with gf bread. Both were excellent.
