Urban Stems is the WORST. Every single time we've ordered from them there has been an issue. From dead/wilted flowers, not meeting the promised delivery date, to most recently a broken vase. I'm not sure what seems to be the issue but clearly their quality controls need a serious overhaul. We definitely will not be ordering from them in the future. read more

Spent over $100 on a Mother's Day arrangement and they email me the day before it's scheduled to arrive to inform me it's going to delayed, and that rather than possibly miss my desired delivery date, they've just gone ahead and refunded my purchase so I can make other arrangements. Now keep in mind that, this is the day before Mother's Day, she (my mother-in-law lives in Chicago) and I live in VA, so it's not really going to be realistic for me to make "other arrangements ". On top of that, I also spent a hefty sum on an arrangement for my own mom (which did arrive luckily) but quite frankly, for the amount of money they charge, I felt the product received was pretty "meh". I'm more than happy to spend $$ on quality products/services but in this case, Urban Stems dropped the ball around in my experience. Most likely won't be using them again in the future. read more

UrbanStems is like the other online "fresh" flower delivery services. Overall, although they provide a solid service, I have experienced delayed shipments many times. With flowers, you can't really afford to have delayed services or not received by your recipient, but that is the chance you take with online services. This time, for Valentines, I asked for flowers to be delivered on Saturday 2/11. Urbanstems has not delivered the package to FedEx yet unfortunately and there is no sign when the flowers will be delivered. Their customer care is good, willing to discount/credit back these issues, but buyer beware. There is nothing like calling your local florist and having confidence your flowers will arrive as requested. read more

My daughter sent me a gift for Valentine's day. When it arrived it was in a large box. When I opened it, it was a small bag of dried flowers that once I took off the plastic which was wrapped around the flowers. Most of the flowers fell apart. What was suppose to be a beautiful dried bouquet looks like a bunch of crap. EVEN worse was when I went to the website to see the price for this delivery it was 85.00 for something that could purchase at Home Goods or ROSS for 20.00 in the dry flowers home decor section. WHAT A MESS, that you even think you would sell something like this.. ANd when you call the customer service line, they want pictures before they refund you. SAD part is my daughter call me excited to see a picture of the gift that was sent, i felt bad to have to tell her it was AWFUL!!! read more

Ordered some online for the 11th knowing I wasn't receiving any for Mother's day. Contacted them asking for a tracking number. And I received my refund because they assumed I wasn't happy with my order and it showed it was delivered. I ONLY requested for tracking information and they refunded me and canceled my order. I didn't want any of those two options to happen. They did admit to their mistakes showing it wasn't shipped, but they offered nothing in return. Now, their assumptions about my emails asking for my tracking information caused me to not get anything. I am disgusted with this company. I ordered Sympathy flowers for my aunt because my uncle died. It took over a week for my droopy, half dead flowers to arrive. I complained immediately and they offered to expedite an upgraded sympathy bouquet. Two days later, another droopy lifeless arrangement arrived. Not to mention, neither bouquet looked like the picture on the website. This company packs up beautiful blooms in a box without any cool packs or water source, loads them into a hot truck and let's them travel that way for days!!! I received flowers on Mother's Day as a gift from my children. The box was left on the side porch for an hour as I wasn't home. Of course as soon as I "found" them I cut and put them in water. Some of the flowers didn't make it to the vase as they had already lost petals or were broken. Now, two days later and more than half the bouquets flower heads have drooped. As I mentioned, this is a gift that apparently is a subscription. I will update this review next month if things are better. I realize Mother's Day can be a nightmare! I would give zero stars, if possible. I have used this company many times and highly recommended them to friends and online. However, I sent my stepmom flowers that were to arrive May 7th, prior to Mother's Day, and UrbanStems never sent them, never notified me they did not, and, when I contacted them, did nothing to resolve the situation. Had I not specifically asked my mom if she received them, I would have never known and been out about $100. After 3 emails and a 19 minute phone call where I was repeatedly told they would place an order to be delivered on the 14th, I was finally told they had no inventory until the 18th of May. Eleven days AFTER my order was to be delivered. If they can't fill orders, they should not accept them. If they accept an order and cannot follow through, they should contact the customer. Super disappointed in this whole ordeal and now I have to go order from a local florist. Save your time, money, and patience and order locally. read more

I live in Florida, she lives in Connecticut.... How would I make alternative arrangements day of? If I were able to bring her gift, I would not have needed to order from this group of incompetents. When I called... I was given the run around... can't get a manager on the phone, or to respond to my email. FINALLY my order is delivered. All of the roses and filler florals were already wilting and one of the larger flowers on one bouquet was actually squished in the shipping box edge. Terrible - worse than not good. I placed four orders. One was delivered on time and was what I ordered. One was not what I ordered and late. Additionally, when it arrived, the flowers had huge rotten spots. My third order was not delivered on time. When I called, I was told it won't be delivered for another week. My fourth order has also not arrived on time. The customer service it terrible, I received no notifications that they would be late until after they were late and I contacted customer service. And, after my second order was delivered I had an email telling me it would be late, and not what I ordered. I read this company was great. It is not. My daughter ordered a very expensive arrangement from Urben Stems Thursday for me for Mother's Day. She was informed they were next day delivery and was excited when she was informed they were out for delivery Friday. Later Friday evening she received another email informing her they would not be delayed till Monday. After receiving them at 10 am. Central time today they are awful. Being in Texas and realizing they were delivered by Fedex I can only assume they sat in a nice warm truck or hot ware house all weekend where it was 85 degrees outside, no telling what it was inside. As you can see by the crushed box they were NOT handled well to begin with, but the fact that only 2 calla lilies survived should tell you something. The stems of them were total mush and the flowers themselves were brown around the edges. The tiny purple roses are falling apart every time someone touches the vase. Defiantly does not look like the picture presented. These are NOT worth the $169 she paid for them. My daughter is a young professional and was excited to have something nice delivered to me for the first time, for Mother's day and you spoiled her excitement first when they were not delivered like stated, but then the absolutely poor quality of product had her in tears today. read more

Two of the orders were completely messed up (one never arrived, one arrived brown and with all the petals falling off). But by far the more frustrating issue was the TERRIBLE customer service, nearly 10 emails back and forth, faulty information, repeating what seemed like formulaic language that didn't respond to the actual conversation we were having, and a refusal to offer a refund referencing the t&cs saying we needed to submit photos within 72 hours... on an email chain where we submitted photos and a complaint within fewer than 24... just outrageous. I've had to go out to my credit card company to open a dispute try to seek a refund. read more

I told them no, please refund. Their response was to send me their Terms and Conditions. The refund policy: UrbanStems refunds only with a cancelled ordered or damaged orders. Or (the big kicker) they will provide an account credit for future purchases. Really? So you are forced to use their horrid service to get your money worth if they miss an order delivery date and never contact you to tell you. This is horrible. Delivery failed on scheduled Saturday, so the same package was delivered on Monday. Terrible! A resend on Tuesday was not much better. For your business' sake do not ship from LA County to metro Phoenix, especially in the warm months. Incredibly small in comparison to photo advertised, wilted flowers. To top things off, the vase has sharp edges, making it painful to pick up and even cutting you if you are not too careful. This was the WORST experenience ever ordering flowers. The order was supposed to arrive the Friday before Valentine's Day and is now expected to arrive 2/15 but still has not arrived yet. When I contacted customer service to determine a resolution to the matter, the representative claimed that I would receive an email shortly thereafter with some sort of resoluton. That email never arrived. I have used UrbanStems before with positive results BUT this was the absolutely WORST experience ever. I will NEVER use this company again. I cannot rely on this company to provide the paid for product on time and then to cancel the order after they did not deliver on time. Every girl loves to receive flowers at work so when my receptionist called me down to pick up a delivery, I got a little excited. I was surprised to see this box with "UrbanStems" on the outside. I'd never heard of them, but man, what an introduction! When I've received flowers from their national competitors, I have to open the box, unwrap a ton (a ton!) of plastic, find a vase, cut the stems, pluck some dead petals because the flowers don't seem that fresh. You can tell the flowers traveled a long way and that isn't exactly personable. Don't get me wrong, I'm appreciative and because I LOVE flowers, I'll do the work, but it is a little bit more of a hassle. Today, I received a dozen pink roses in a carrying case and the flowers were wrapped in a little bit of plastic and a couple of rubber bands, nicely tucked into a vase. I didn't have to do anything but take the plastic off and pour water into them. They also came with a nice card with my private message typed in handwriting font. My boyfriend ordered me a bouquet from Urban Stems for my birthday. On the website, it says that the flowers are hand delivered. FedEx actually delivered them, and when I received it, the flowers were dried up and shriveled. The stems had not been immersed in water for a long time, probably two days, and therefore were brown at the tips and already well into the dying phase, unable to be resuscitated. When my boyfriend called Urban Stems to ask why FedEx delivered, Urban Stems said that the flowers were shipped directly from the growers, and blamed the growers for the dying flowers.
