I often buy fresh flowers to decorate at Whole Foods, but I figured I would give this delivery service a try. As I ordered, I was telling my fiancé about all the beautiful arrangements they had online. Little did I know, he too was placing an order to be delivered the same day! My flowers were delivered between the time frame I selected. I think it's so great that they send you a picture for proof of delivery. I quick went downstairs and picked up my bouquet and the one my fiancé sent from the front desk. The flowers came packaged in a cute carrying box that I tore right through when I got to my apartment. Two beautifully arranged bouquets! I was in love! From roses to sunflowers, accent pieces and a succulent! I was a happy girl! My only complaint is that I was not given flower food and I didn't get the burlap wrap & ribbon everyone has raved about. I could overlook the burlap situation, but having to go buy flower food in addition to having already paid was a bit of a pain. Overall, my flowers were beautiful! Delivery failed on scheduled Saturday, so the same package was delivered on Monday. Terrible! A resend on Tuesday was not much better. For your business' sake do not ship from LA County to metro Phoenix, especially in the warm months. Reached out to their "Happiness Team." They apologized and offered to send another "make-up"bouquet at their earliest available ship date which happen to be 3x days after the intended delivery date. My first time ordering from here will unfortunately be my last. I spent way too much money on a double order of lilies for my mom for Mother's Day expecting them to be beautiful and healthy upon arrival. I have fresh flowers ALL the time, so I know how to properly care for cut flowers. These lilies were horrendous. First of all, there was not what I would consider a "double" order of lilies within the bouquet; there wasn't as many as the photo or description showed. Second, about 90% of the buds never opened, and just turned brown and withered and died within days. It was honestly awful, and I'll never be ordering flowers from here again. Unfortunately, a few days before the scheduled delivery date, they emailed me to say that there was a problem with this crop of flowers and they were "not up to their standards". They changed the order to a different one and sent me those flowers instead, without offering me option of a refund or my choice of alternate flowers. The flowers that did arrive were peonies that had not blossomed yet. Their instructions say to give the peonies 2 days to blossom, so when they did not blossom after a couple of days (picture included) I wrote to UrbanStems. Unfortunately, as this was after the deadline for their 72 hour policy, the best they could offer me was 10% off my next order with them. So I paid $100 dollars for flowers that did not arrive, only to be shipped flowers I did not order without my consent (granted they did refund me $4 for the price difference between the flowers), and unfortunately those flowers were clearly flawed. They send the confirmation email/receipt to the recipient...they specifically asked for that address. So the surprise is ruined. The packaging was great...having worked For a florist, I understand that most flowers are shipped dry...i know how to cut them, what temp water etc...they were beautiful the first 12 hours. Terrible experience - do not use this company. Not only were my flowers not delivered on the scheduled delivery date, I was not contacted by anyone from the company to explain the delay. When I reached out myself the next day, I was told that my flowers "weren't able to be picked up." They did offer to have a bouquet of "greater value" sent, but it wouldn't be able to be delivered until a full week later than the date I had originally scheduled. I was so disappointed in the flowers I ordered for my mothers 50th Birthday. When we opened the packaging the roses were already withering, the eucalyptus was dry and shriveled. This review is for those considering gifting the 105.00 per floral bouquet SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE from UrbanStems. I have received the bouquets for the last 4 months. While bouquets have been fresh and beautiful they are not always 105.00 worth of flowers. Still a lovely bouquet. First bouquet came with a small floral scissors which are excellent quality and a plain glass vase. But this review is about your RECIPIENT ---things to consider before sending a subscription of flowers from UbanStems to your friends or family or work associate: --It is best for them to be home or close to home when the flowers are delivered. I travel and since I didn't know when the next delivery was coming I returned to a box of wilted wet and dead flowers. When I contacted Urban to ask the delivery date for the next delivery they said I don't know probably the same time as last time. Rep would not look into it and no offer of a solution. Not exactly the best customer service. --When the box arrives be aware of the approximately 20-30 minutes it takes from box to vase: Flowers come packaged in a long cardboard box. Unless there's a large space available for the box in the fridge there's an IMMEDIATE need to attend to the flowers. RIGHT NOW. No matter what is going on in life at that moment. Inside the box is a bouquet wrapped in fabric and secured by rubber bands and zip ties. Time to cut the bands and the zip ties and unwrap the flowers... After the flowers have been freed from packaging there is prep prior to placing in the vase... Cutting to fit the vase, removing lower leaves etc. This time there were two (wrapped in fabric and secured with rubber bands and zip ties) bouquets of sunflowers with small coverings on each bloom. Removal was easy enough but tedious as its 12 blooms. Following flower prep there is the packaging to deal with. Throwing away packaging and then breaking down the box for recycling. Wiping down the area where flower prep took place. You get the idea. NOT complaining, just saying its an effort every time the box arrives. And it goes without saying that I very much appreciate the gift and especially the thought behind it. Again this is for the SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE so it comes every month. If it is a one time gift then I recommend it. The presentation in the box and the flowers themselves are impressive. read more

Do not buy orchids! My first order did not look like the picture on the website. Instead of mature plants with blossoms, I received saplings with small buds. The buds died and fell off in a few days even before opening. I reported the issue to the "happiness team" and they sent me the replacement shown in the picture. The flowers started drooping three days after arrival. In my correspondence with the team, they mentioned a problem with their orchid supplier. Last week, I received Valentine's Day roses which arrived looking good but wilted in just three days (I assume they may have had temperature issues in transit, as other flowers from Urban Stems have lasted a long time). When I called and explained what had happened, they told me the flowers should have lasted well over a week, gave me a credit, and sent me a whole new arrangement to replace the previous one.
