Not sure how you can take that long to make simple food and still have it come out cold. It's more than just a staffing issue because most places are struggling with staffing and still produce good food. smoothie was gross- tasted like sour milk with not enough fruit. Didn't even drink it, asked if I could just sub out a coffee (an extremely cheap item for a restaurant) since it was just not good and nearly $7, and was told I could purchase the coffee. Cashier was extremely slow, expect to just wait in line for 10 mins to even get to the front. I've worked in many bars and restaurants so am more sympathetic than the average person but would never eat here again. read more

Probably the best coffee in the area. Breakfast is excellent perfectly finished omelettes, fresh ingredients. Owners actively managing the cafe. We were given a small sample of the sloppy joe. Probably the first place outside of Traverse City in northern Michigan I found to have decent coffee. They use a roaster out of Traverse City. Vegan options are not plentiful, but they will work with you to make it happen. My daughter had oatmeal with coconut milk, and applesauce. Her portions were huge. It was awesome. Their omelettes are fantastic. Huge, 3-egg monsters. I got the vegetable one with cheese. You get toast or pancakes as the option. SYRUP SNOB ALERT: They use corn syrup. Before February 2020, I would describe it as a place with friendly staff, decent food (especially the sandwiches) and slow service, even when I was the only customer in the restaurant. We went here at 9am. There were not very many tables filled. The workers greeted us right away and were kind. Once we finally ordered it took a long time for us to get our food. My husband got the breakfast burrito and I got the Cabin Fever Omelet. The burrito was okay and the omelet was pretty good. I got a black coffee and it wasn't the best coffee ever, but it definitely did the job. I wouldn't recommend anyone eat at this establishment. Due to COVID they even ask you to bus your own tables and still expect a tip. We ate at numerous places in the area over our vacation like Pegtown in Maple City and Joe's Friendly Tavern in Empire. Both dealing with the same problems that come with COVID but still manage to offer excellent food and service. There really is no excuse for Ursa Major's poor food and service. When the Blue Caribou Cafe opened this past summer, I was overjoyed. I remember walking dowtown Beulah with my husband last spring wondering why there wasn't anywhere good to eat! They have wonderful coffee that is roasted right in Grawn, the company that provides the coffee is amazing! The fact that Blue Caribou Cafe buys their coffee from them shows that they know a lot about coffee and cares about the quality of cofffee that they serve to their customers. Their food is also made with quality, I have never had a better breakfast than the breakfasts that I have at this resturant. Their burgers are fantastic as well! Great service! Family owned restaurant that had to change their name because it was too close to 'Caribou Coffee' which I believe is out of business. Good food, I prefer a heartier portion. Coffee is decent and omelette's are decent. When I have a breakfast I never can decide between eggs, pancakes or omelettes. The menu here is big, not in the range of a Dennys or Cheesecake factory, but decent. They do serve Moomers ice cream here, which is a fan favorite in this area. Give Ursa a try, they also have free wifi which encourages patrons to enjoy their coffee. Unlike A Papano's pizza who just want you to pick up your pizza and not use their free wifi. read more
