I went here with my team of 3 other people last week. At first I was worried when we walked up because there was quite a long line out the restaurant (even though that means the food is probably good!), but after standing in line for a few minutes a restaurant employee came over asking if we were here for take out or delivery. We were looking to take our food back, and were redirected to a side door for take out orders, which was awesome! We ordered our food pretty quickly, and even though I was the 2nd person on my team to order, I was the first to get my food. Our team proceeded to wait 30 minutes before our last team member received their food - and he got a salad, so I have no idea what could have taken so long! One of our team mates had to take a phone call while we were talking back since we were late. I ordered a half Chicken Curry sandwich, half Tuscan Kale soup, and a fruit tart. Well let me tell you -THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD. I wish I could go back right now. I had issues with the chicken falling out of my sandwich, but my team reassures me that that is a user error. The location of this Urth Caffe is much appreciated as there's ample street parking and seating inside, outside and upstairs! Wow... how logical is that?!?!?! What can I say that others haven't said about an Urth Caffe? To be honest...not much. Came here this past Sunday after new years wanting to try the pumpkin cheesecake. I waited in line for about 40min. I ordered the cheesecake to go. When I got home and opened it up I took a couple bites and the cheesecake had a very sour and acidic taste to it. Its almost as if they had squeezed lemon on to it. The menu is extensive, but I kept it simple, with an order of poached eggs on wheat toast with a tomato/caper/red onion kind of relish. It looked lovely when it came out, but it was underseasoned, and it must have been sitting around or they failed to drain the poached eggs well. The bread was tepid and soggy - ewwww - and that alone was off-putting. With some salt, it was OK-ish, but I was definitely underwhelmed. It was also hard to manage with the very dull knife provided. We ordered food and waited for more than 30 minutes. Went to discuss the delay with a supervisor and was given the drill that everybody else is also waiting and the kitchen is backed up. So upon receiving the food the soup was cold and the quesadilla had been sitting for awhile . Had to call on them again to let them know it wasn't the kitchen but service for the cold food. First time here with my brother who is familiar with this chain. This is probably the largest coffee and tea cafe I have ever been in. This cafe sits on the corner of a busy street and is clearly a busy trendy hang out for locals and even non locals. There are what appears to be two bar areas with multiple seating areas to include the outdoors. Bakery items offered are very good and decently priced. For those of you like myself that are only tea drinkers, there are a variety of choices also. For the crowd of people that hang out, there should be better bathrooms. I specifically came here for the GREEN TEA BOBA. It definitely exceeded my expectations and I loved it. Fresh boba and blended green tea. It was too perfect. Its a great place, and the food here is delicious. But I don't really like the location, its very hard to find parking here, especially on weekends. There's a parking a lot behind the store, but it only allows you to park up to 2 hours. This place is kind of small, so it can be overcrowded pretty quickly. Service here is pretty good and food come out pretty quickly, servers are also very friendly. I love their turkey burger and NY cheesecake. Their turkey burger is huge and very delicious. I'm disappointed with Urth, the Poached Di Parma was almost cold, the eggs were over cooked and rubbery. I do not like their poached eggs, they don't look right and look like they are mass produced. My friend had the chicken soup and half roasted turkey sandwich. His soup was lukewarm, although the presentation looked amazing. Turkey sandwich was average. We liked the Spanish latte and desserts. I came here for the first time today and it was very enjoyable. I ordered a margarita pizza with a half mixed greens salad. I love that the pizza comes with fresh oregano a red pepper oil and grated cheese on the side. Oregano was really really fresh. The pizza was really tasty, crispy crust, and just delicious all around. I also had a chocolate milkshake which was a little different because it was kind of icy instead of creamy. My niece had the macaroni and cheese and I tasted it and it was good. The salad was fresh. I do not like that you have to order your food and then find a table. We found a table right away but it seems like if it was any busier we would have been standing around. The cashier was really nice. This place is one of our (my boyfriend & I) favorite places to go for brunch on the weekends. This place is located by a 4-way intersection in Old Town Pasadena and there is a lot of parking for people. But, here's a tip, try to park on East Green St. first before you decide to pay for their parking lot because we ALWAYS find parking on Green St. The line to eat at Urth can be long sometimes, but I think it goes pretty fast and they're very organized when it comes to taking orders, finding you a seat, and bringing the food to your table. All of their items are really yummy. I usually get either their Belgium waffle or their mac n cheese, and my boyfriend really likes their egg salmone. As far as their drinks go, you can't go wrong with any of them. For hot drinks, my favorite is their Spanish latte because it has condensed milk in it. As for cold drinks I like their caffe granita as well as their fresh fruit smoothie (I usually get strawberries and pineapple). My boyfriend always gets their matcha green tea blended with soy milk, with boba. Tip: If you're the type of person that gets a lot of smoothies or blended drinks, ask for the punch card, you get a free drink when you get 10 stamps! For two people average price is about $30, but you're paying for the quality and freshness of the food, so of course trying to be healthy has it's price. read more

Always a favorite. I've gone to almost all of their locations and each one delivers the best service & food. My favorites here are their organic herbal teas: Peaceful Mind & A Grateful Heart. Every single time I go to Urth Caffe I always order their "Bavarian Fruit Tart," it is delicious and foodgasmic.... Yes I said that. Eating is very sensual for me and I definitely enjoy these items on the menu. They don't want you to linger around and stay there all day or for hours as you would a coffee house, since they are Extremely Busy, especially during lunch. Expect to always wait in line, if you don't, then consider yourself blessed on that visit :) or you timed it well. Urth has been my go-to brunch spot for years. Although this location opened not too long ago, I would say their food is just as good as the locations in the west side. On the weekends it gets quite crowded, so come very early or expect to wait a bit. I can tell the workers try hard to find seats for diners as quickly as possible. Otherwise, avoid coming on a Saturday or Sunday. I always ordered the portobello sandwich, the chicken curry salad, or the quiche! Today I got the spinach & mushroom quiche and at first bite I could hardly tell it had no meat -- it was so flavorful and savory. DELICIOUS! After a couple more bites though, I wasn't sure if I could finish it. Definitely shareable :) it also comes with a side salad and vinaigrette dressing. However the flavor was good and there were a lot of fresh greens, but not worth nearly ten bucks. Pizza Catona: 5/5, this was delicious and made up for the other meal! Personal size pizza but very filling since it's topped with mozzarella and burrata cheese, the prosciutto was delicious and perfect portions, will definitely order this again. What I love about Urth Caffe: The ambiance is great. The coffee is really good. I'm not a fufu coffee drinker. I want it black and strong, so I can't be fooled with mediocre coffee with chocolate and whipped cream. Urth Caffe's coffee is solid. Their baked goods - bread, desserts, pastries, muffins - are really, really good (except for the cinnamon bread pudding). What I don't love about Urth Caffe: The breakfasts. Don't order poached eggs. They'll either come raw or hard as golf balls. I also don't recommend the spinach-feta omelet. Hotel buffet scrambled eggs, with some spinach and a tiny bit of feta - with a LOT of raw onions. Raw onions?!! They overpowered an otherwise mild dish. Also, be prepared to stand in line to order. The place is popular. So, four stars with all the complaints? Yep. I get a muffin (or a scone, on a dessert thing) and a coffee and I'm as happy as a clam.... whatever that means... Where does that expression come from ... happy as a clam...? read more

Urth is a spot I've been meaning to go to but never got around to it. Stopped by today in the late afternoon, thankful for the burst of cool air flowing from the doors and ample shade on the patio. It's definitely bustling, and while the staff seem to be running a tight ship it took 28 minutes to get my cafe au lait in hand. To keep patrons satisfied, each table lists the rules for diners, stating that if it's busy they ask diners to limit their time at tables to 45 minutes before passing their seats along. Good policy to ward of lingering Starbucks-types. My cafe au lait was hot but not too hot with smooth flavor and glossy micro foam that made me swoon. My friend let me try her iced mocha which we agreed was refreshing yet luxe and full-bodied. Next time (and there will be a next time--preferably a more low-key hour) I'll try the desserts. read more
