Second time this week that I stopped in after a morning ruck walk. Got lucky with tons of street parking available before the rush of customers. Noticed they had great craft beer on tap (love Paperback) and wine. I had asked previously, alcohol can be served early in the morning too.. winning! Today instead of taking coffee to go, we ordered to enjoy there. We also ordered food. I brought my computer to work from so we can thoroughly enjoy our meal and the space. We shared two dishes: - chilaquiles: tasty, still crunchy chips, mild spicy salsa verde, scrambled eggs. very tasty. next time will try with meat - french toast: thin, toasted on the edges, soft center, served with powdered sugar and fresh blueberries. will order again Their coffee drinks are delicious. Strong enough espresso for me, enough flavor and sweetness for my sweet tooth husband to love. There was a steady flow of customers coming in. Some ordered to go but a lot of people sat and occupied tables. Nice to see a local small business thriving. We came here for early breakfast, at 7 am shortly after they opened the door. The cafe was still getting ready. We browsed through the menu and decided to order a couple coffees, a breakfast burrito, a toast with some side eggs. We sat outside which was cool and quiet, it was still early. But I got bitten by a mosquito immediately, and we took our coffees and moved back inside. The service was good, the breakfast came out quick. I enjoyed my breakfast burrito and the toast and eggs are fine. It's a little pricey for all that at $42. Yes. I understand that we are paying for the expensive neighborhood. The person taking our order couldn't have cared less. Honestly, the entire staff looked like they had collectively lost a bet and the prize was working brunch. Then came the "huevos rancheros." For $18, I received two eggs, two half-baked tortillas, and enough green salsa to qualify as protected wetlands. No beans. No rice. No garnish. Just eggs floating in a swamp of salsa. When I asked if the dish was supposed to come with beans, they looked at me like I was the one who didn't know what huevos rancheros was. A quick Google search--or simply living in Los Angeles for the last 25 years--will tell you they're wrong. Huevos rancheros traditionally comes with beans. If you're going to reinvent a classic, at least mention it on the menu. Between the indifferent service and the world's saddest $18 breakfast, I left feeling completely ripped off. 10/10 local gem! We tried the iced cookie butter with oat milk and the iced nutty pistachio latte--both were so good. For food, we ordered the breakfast tacos with chorizo and the breakfast sandwich. The chorizo was delicious and had such great flavor. You should've seen my boyfriend's face when he took the first bite of the sandwich! The girl who took our order, with curly black hair, was so welcoming and pleasant. As a Mexican woman, I can honestly say this place has that true Latin food flavor without overdoing the decor or trying to oversell the culture. The atmosphere is cute, open, and filled with natural light, with sweet touches like real flowers as centerpieces. Without exaggerating, this is our favorite local breakfast and coffee spot. I've seen this restaurant pop-up on my Instagram timeline a couple of times and I finally decided to order some breakfast from here this morning. I went with a Jefe burrito and a cookie butter latte, both were amazing! The burrito had a cheese stuffed poblano pepper, as well as beans, and meat and all of the ingredients you can tell are high-quality. The beans you can tell are homemade, the meat was so good and seasoned well. It came with a little salsa on the side, and the salsa was very flavorful. I did do DoorDash so I can't speak as far as the location or service but I'm excited to visit in person and try out many more things. read more

Coffee here is really good . The down side is that the food doesn't make sense , the ingredients are out of balance , and it lacks proper execution. . I couldn't eat my meal. The sauce was way too acidic, thick and spicy. Anyone can grab a bunch of fried tortillas , and dump some sauce on it and call it a dish. Definitely there's potential here . The matcha I had was very earthy because I forgot to add a sweetener to it, so keep that in mind if you're ordering one if you like them on the sweeter side. There's seating inside and also a small patio space out front. I opted to have a seat outside and enjoyed the time I had to myself there. My go to is the steak sandwich (honestly probably only place I order this because it HITS every time). The ingredients used are fresh and great standards! Steak is so hard but they get it every time! I learned early on that this is a PERFECT local spot to work remotely...get a cup of delicious coffee, breakfast burrito, and work till lunch and get a sandwich with ice tea! This wasn't my first time at Cielo, but it was my first time coming for breakfast and as always, it did not disappoint! My partner and I ordered a breakfast burrito to share, and it was a solid 10/10. It had the perfect mixture of sour cream, chunky bacon, soft avocado, and fluffy scrambled eggs all wrapped inside a nicely grilled tortilla. It also came with a spicy sauce that made a great dip. Service was quick and efficient. We came right at opening, so there was no wait at all. I could totally see myself studying or getting some work done here as the space is calm, and the tables are comfortable. Highly recommended! I can't wait to come back next time! BLT on cibatta, minus the T - decent amount of bacon and the bacon was good. Easy to eat cibatta, almost had the texture of white bread. The aoli was nice, just slightly spicy. Steak quesadilla - doesn't look like the picture on their tablet ordering system. The steak pieces are very small, and therefore end up overcooked. This was pretty plain and generic tasting. Ordered w a side of sour cream that was delightfully whipped, but not at all sour. Enjoyably creamy, tho. Cookie butter iced latte - asked for easy ice, but the cup was super full of ice anyway, which gets in the way of the cream top. Mocha (hot) - perfectly serviceable but not special. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The space sort of has a fast food feel to it without a lot of decor or personality. The outside seating at least has the ambiance of this cute part of San Marino. We didn't interact much with staff. We ordered thru the tablet. We waited to pick up our drinks. They will text you when your food is ready, but they brought our food to our table, possibly because there were so few ppl there and they knew who had ordered what. Nice place to eat for brunch. They have indoor and patio seating. Parking is street-side. Order at the Kiosk and then take your seat. Water is self service. Came here to try their sandwiches which are quite popular. We got their Chicken Pesto Sandwich and their Steak Sandwich. Both were flavorful with nice soft bread, however I would give an edge to the chicken sandwich since the meat is more juicy and tender. They both come with a nice side salad with a light dressing and covered with flakes of decadent cheese. They also have pastries, coffee and drinks. We tried their Halva Muffin which was amazing. It was gluten free which worried me about it being dry or crumbly but it was moist and well done, felt like a chocolate lava muffin. Their Kanelbullar (type of cinnamon roll) was okay, just a bit dry. We did enjoy their Dragonfruit lemonade. It definitely has a lot of natural sweetness so wouldn't need any extra syrup. Such a cute little place we stumbled upon. Once you walk in, you order from a kiosk and the lady in the front brings the food to your table. Ordered a shrimp burrito and steak quesadilla. Cielo is consistently one of the best hidden gems in this side of town. Great spot to hang out and get some work done or catch up with a friend without it being too noisy. I'm torn not giving a 5 because the food was delicious. However, I had to enter my food in kiosk and wait staff was there in case I needed help. I like interacting with people, especially after COVID and entering my food through a robot seems detached. Lucky for me I was eating with a friend today. We were able to share and try different meals. We had chilaquiles and a chile relleno burrito and we were surprised and it had meat. French toast too! We had left overs so portions are good size and fair prices. I tried a tiramisu drink and I had it customized. And she had pan dulce hot tea. Parking is in the back and wish I knew that and one restroom to share with everyone. We didn't have alcohol and we could've from all their selections. I was craving a breakfast burrito and was looking for a spot that opened early. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito and actually really enjoyed it. The eggs were soft and fluffy, and I loved all the vegetables inside, especially the avocado and corn. I just love how it tasted very fresh and healthy. I've spent way too much money at Spanglish Kitchen, but honestly, it's pretty good, especially when they don't skimp on the cheese on my nachos. If you haven't tried it yet, you should! I'm their neighbor, so we frequent often. I decided to give this spot a try, and OMG! It is so darn delicious!!! I've already been there three times this week alone, smh... diet starts on Monday. The only downside is the outdoor seating. The setup is uncomfortable when the sun is out. The umbrellas don't provide enough shade. My face was covered, but my legs and ankle were burning like fire was hitting them the whole time I ate. The elderly couple sitting next to me had the same problem, trying to move their table to get shade. I didn't enjoy the outdoor seating, which was a shame because it was such a beautiful day. I'm a breakfast person and only eat once or twice a day, but usually go for breakfast because of the protein. Let me start off by saying the coffee here is great--definitely one of my favorites! I especially love their cinnamon latte. The shop itself is super cute with plenty of seating inside and a nice outdoor area too. They even have wine on tap, which is perfect for a chill weekend brunch with the girls. Now, onto the food... it's not the best. It feels a bit overpriced for what you get. I ordered the avocado toast and it was very simple--nothing special--and definitely not worth $15. We also tried the oatmeal with fruit (an extra $2), and again, it was pretty basic. For the price, I expected more flavor or creativity. Decent sized sandwiches on ciabatta bread, about $15. Good amount of tables inside and outside, went on a Friday afternoon and all of them were packed. The person at the register was helpful picking a sandwich. I got a modified breakfast sandwich (no bacon), little bit saucy for my liking but that can always be adjusted!
