Beautiful atmosphere... Busy place that is always crowded day and night. Great coffee and great place to meet someone for that morning pick me up! This is a trendy place. I enjoy their baked goods and love their chocolate chip cookies. Prices are high. Great place to people-watch. Staff is friendly and most of the time attentive. Never again. Ordered 2 sandwiches, one oven roasted turkey and one Reuben. The turkey had ONE thinly sliced piece and the Reuben had like 3 slices. They weren't cheap either. $17 and $15. What a rip off. I called the manager to complain and he literally blew me off. No apology. With all the restaurants suffering right now URTH is not setting a good example. If you love matcha, you gotta come here! They have green tea latte, matcha croissant and matcha tiramisu oh my god it's matcha heaven! I was skeptical avo it getting boba with my iced green tea latte at an American restaurant but boy am I glad I did! Their boba chewy and just the right amount of sweet, it rose above my expectations! I love sweets so I was eyeing their desserts the whole time and I couldn't choose on what to get but I decided to go for the matcha croissant and tiramisu matcha and they were both so gooood!! The tiramisu matcha was really moist and not diabetes sweet, the matcha croissant was AMAZING! They put so much matcha in there and it's not all clumped into one big ball either, it's all spread throughout the whole croissant! My friend also recommended that I order the chicken curry wrap. It's originally supposed to be a sandwich but you can swap it out for a wrap and I must say it was BOMB! I love that they had raisins in it too, it made the the wrap so much more flavorful! Haha as annoying as it may sound, I kept telling myself "see, I told you it's gonna suck, and you were right". All these places are for people who don't know wtf is good food. Lol You know why I hate trying new places? Cuz it's a roll of the dice, like this place has 3.5 stars. If 5 was an A, it would mean it's a C+. Ordered a Combo plate for dinner tonight. Made it a Chix sammich and a cup of clam chowder. Veggie salad on the side... FREE. Added a glass of black tea to boot. Waited for about 15mins for food. Had to hit the chowder first!...... Verdict after the 1st spoon? This soup is barely even friggin warm! Dafuq?! At a cheeseball place like this, I decided not to waste my time, the staff's time, the cook's time, and even more of my own time (waiting for a warmer bowl), to complain about the temperature of my bowl of soup. Strike 1. The chicken sandwich? Meh, half a breast sliced in half for each half of my full sandwich. Cheap Asses! Strike 2 The salad? Costco fancy leaf selection, you know the Arugula clear box... Barely any dressing on the leaves... Strike 3. Next time I want a sandwich and salad, I'll hit up Green Street, at least the Diane kicks ass. If you want good food, look elsewhere. If you want to buy a boba and hang out and talk with your friends, this is probably your place. I never seen a caffe with a line all outside the building! :D while in line, I was very curious on what people are having. Also, I used yelp to see what looked appetizing. You taste the foam bitter espresso on top, yet mild sweetness on the latte and thats how I've always imagined my latte and they nailed it! I ordered large one its sooo good with the matcha tiramisu!! I never had a tiramisu as yummy as this. Usually regular Tiramisu to me is airy and wet , but matcha tiramisu is filled with everything! Not airy at all! My favorite part, is that its not super sweet! Its just perfect! Taste so healthy! I love the spanish/ Mediterranean stairs and the atmosphere. Ahh i looved everything! This location is my favorite! It's larger than the other ones in DTLA but that doesn't make it any less busy. A few of my favorite things to eat is their lasagna, heirloom tomato & burrata salad and their pot roast sandwich! For drinks their green tea boba has a special place in my heart, and recently became very in love with their green juice! As far as desserts go, their earl grey tiramisu is moist and fruit tarts are so good! The staff here are super friendly, honestly did not mind the wait because I understand it's a high volume place and everyone was running around serving and cleaning tables. Debated whether or not to write a review of my experience, but decided too because it shouldn't happen to another customer! Yesterday evening my husband and I decided to go to Urth for a latte and for pastries as date night. Well didn't expect it would take a turn for the worst! We always order the same drinks since they're our favorites and it's not the first time we've been there nor first time we've ordered them. I always order a Spanish Latte Decaf hot and let me tell you it definitely was not decaf, it was very strong even my husband had a taste of it and cringed at how strong it was for it being "decaf" My husband took the latte to an employer which is the employer that makes the drinks and just wanted to see if they can make another one due to maybe they got it wrong by mistake or something but we weren't making a big deal about it. Well the response we got from the employee was not the one we were expecting! Per employee's words " their decaf is always strong it's not like other places and it's not like it's going to do any harm to the person if they drink it" and with tone of an attitude and he even said " it'll take 15 minutes for me to make a new one" and not even 5 minutes have past and we got a new one to our table, but let me tell you this one was worst! Still strong and this time no sweetness! Like if it was done on purpose just for saying something about the drink. I've always heard good things about this place, but I never got the chance to try it until this weekend, and it was definitely worth the hype. I went with a couple of my girlfriends and we all ordered separate items, but each dish was delicious in its own way. I ordered a roasted turkey panini, and though I don't eat much paninis, this was one of the best I've ever had! Not only that, the service from everyone was so friendly, and despite going during the rush hour, our food and drinks came out fairly quickly, and it wasn't too hard to find a table to sit at. The food was affordable and good, what else can I complain about? The only thing I could say would be that parking was kind of hard, but that's expected. This place is super cute for photos and the aesthetics, the food is decent and the staff is nice. however the seating is a 50/50 thing. some days you may get a good seat and others you maybe be cramped with other tables on the sidewalk. the employees are very nice and friendly. I got a smoothie and a breakfast burrito. you get to actually choose what you want to put in your smoothie and mine was amazing (strawberry, pineapple, kiwi) the breakfast burrito is decently sized and tastes good. however the pricing is a bit high and i wouldn't be able to be a regular here. overall i would say that the experience is great, food looks amazing and very instagramable but if you're just looking for good food, there are other places much more affordable with amazing food. read more

This one is in a much better neighborhood than the downtown One. It gets pretty crowded here so finding seats which are first come first serve gets kind of tricky. I haven't ever eaten their food here only coming for dessert. Their blueberry cheesecake, apple pie, blueberry pie, and coconut white cake are awesome. The Oreo cheesecake and chocolate cake I am not a big fan of. Their best deal is probably their large pot of tea. For $5 you can pick any flavor tea you want and then just keep asking for hot water. One pot can easily shared among four people. Just not be a total cheap ass and order just this one pot and nothing else with a group. Parking is ok depending on the time and day. There are some structures nearby I think but I have been super lucky and found parking on the street nearby so far. read more

I've been to the Beverly Hills Branch many times but this particular branch is by far superior and taste freshness and in service. You have to try to delicious heated apple pie and the vegetarian pizza and the urth salad. The place is very upscale but prices are very affordable and can be a hangout spot easily. You can never go wrong at an Urth Cafe! However, both the downtown and Melrose stores have both better ambiances and better locations than this Pasadena late comer. The baked goods are SOLID, the salads/sandwiches above average/healthy and the coffee is both good and well presented. All Urth Caffe's have a friendly culture and positive attitude. Pasadena is lucky to have an Urth Cafe... it is just a shame it is not located anywhere near where all the pedestrian action is! read more

I went to Urth this afternoon and ordered the green tea boba drink and found an actual FROZEN BEE mixed into the boba drink. Urth Caffe is a great place to grab a meal and coffee. The atmosphere is really pleasant here and is a good place to get a bit of work done. Their pastries are delicious and so hard to resist. For food, their pizzas, sandwiches and salads are delicious. My favorite item on the menu though is the breakfast bread pudding with caramelized bananas. It's so decadent and such a treat. I love Urth caffe and can't rave enough about it. read more

Its absolutely unacceptable that their entire system was down thus they were only accepting cash, they simply can't expect everyone carry cash with them after all its 2019. On the other side on few occasions in the pasts they forgot my order to bring and I had to confront them on each times which they refused I even ordered anything at all and I had to show them receipt every time. Favorite coffee shop around LA hands down. Spanish latte is a must. The vibe is amazing. Love the free fruit infused water, cheesecake and the pizza. Gigantic wrap around patio with heat lamps is a great plus. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. They also have a nice dessert and tea menu as well and they're open late. Parking can be a drag at times, but we just park across Colorado by the church. Prices are reasonable as well. read more

Definitely have to try this spot at one point or another. Food is yummy. The staff is super friendly and courteous, and, portion sizes are perfect for lone eating or sharing. TRIPLE CHECK YOUR ORDERS BEFORE THEY LEAVE THE DOOR! This has happened to me more than once now and its so annoying and a complete disappointment. Its even worse because they are delivery orders and there is no way of getting the right items unless you come and pick it up which is not something everyone can do. I received the wrong sandwiches today and the last time I ordered I was missing a drink. The paper bag had the right receipt attached to it but the items inside were all wrong AND one of the sandwiches I received had a filling in it that I was allergic to. Ended up ordering from somewhere else. read more

I just saw I'm not the only one with this problem. I ordered a cappuccino at 7:45. I sat outside waiting for it. 25 minutes later. Still nothing. I go inside to inquire. The server said he'll look it up. 5 minutes later after talking to several people including the cashier he says to me, I'll make it right now. No apologies. Nothing. I am shocked. I would have expected sorry for the delay. We messed up. Let's comp it. Nothing. So I go back out and sit again. 10 minutes later my drink arrives with no spoon. I can't even stir or drink the foam. I ask the server for a spoon and he says he'll be right back. Another 10 minutes go by and by that time my drink is cold. He brings me a super large spoon. Def not what you serve with a cappuccino. I went to Urth's entry on Madison where you pick up your orders, get coffee & pastries on May 9th to get a treat for my mom. I asked the girl behind the counter what a specific item was in the case. She said it was "Chocolate Tumi Sue Cake". I thought about what she said for a second and said, you mean Tiramisu? She replied, that's what I said. I just shook my head and said, okay, I'll get one. It wasn't inexpensive, $7.95. I took it to my mom who is lovingly referred to as a tiramisu connoisseur. We both love tiramisu. We each took a bite of the cake, gave each other a puzzled look, tried a second bite and in unison said, What is this? There wasn't an ounce of tiramisu flavor. It had a musty refrigerator taste. It had obviously absorbed all the flavors in the display case. We ended up tossing over half the dessert because it was so foul tasting. What a major disappointment and waste of $7.95. On May 10 around 8 AM I stopped by the same location. I was the only customer. 2 employees were at each of the registers furiously punching things in to the registers that were beeping away. Clearly there was some sort of malfunction. I stood there and another customer came in behind me and a 3rd employee showed up behind the counter. That employee started talking to the customer behind me asking him how his coffee was and then said she'd go check on his order. I'm still standing there. Nobody said a peep to me. I stood there a few more minutes and finally just left. Apparently I was invisible. I walked up to Europane and was greeted immediately upon entering the store and waited on when it was my turn. Suggestion to Urth Caffe....acknowledge your customers. If one of the employees would have said something ala, We're having a slight problem with our registers but working to rectify. May I give you a cup of coffee to enjoy while you wait? I would have said thank you but not and WAITED and not just walked out and gone to your competitor. Just acting like I wasn't there wasn't ok and certainly not customer service. My suggestion is to go to Europane. There are 2 locations on Colorado, 1 west of Urth and one east of Urth. No matter which direction you go you'll come across Europane. If you insist on going to Urth I suggest you check your reflection in a mirror first to ensure you're not invisible--you're bound to get better service. If you insist on getting their Chocolate Tumi Sue Cake aka Tiramisu make sure it hasn't been sitting for any time in their refrigerator. Don't fall for the the "we make our desserts fresh every day". They prob do but prob at 2 AM and then the desserts sit in stinky refrigerators until they're sold. You're going to get a musty refrigerator-flavored dessert, which nobody wants. read more

I always get the half curry chicken sandwich with soup, and my bf always gets the pesto sandwich. But next time I want to try the pizza! This girl had a smoked salmon pizza which looked so good. I ordered the Paradise salad at their Laguna location and it was delicious. I've tried it twice at the Pasadena Urth and it's been missing key ingredients both times. I get that some ingredients are described as "seasonal", but...no walnuts? No capers? This time it was lacking the vegan almond cheese. We asked for it, and it took 25 minutes to get. Towards the end of this time, one waiter assured me they were "working on it" (how? Growing the almonds?). If there was pomegranate dressing, it wasn't discernible. When I asked for a box for my leftover Purgatory salad, the waiter never reappeared. No great loss. The drinks and the ambience are both good, but if I'm paying $20 for a salad I want it to be a) good and b) resemble the item listed in the menu. read more
