Roundabouts scare me. When I was in Scotland and England a few years ago, I popped out a few thousand gray hairs whenever I twirled around their crazy roundies! And now the Kennewick, has started to employ roundabouts within its city limits. I know there are nice reasons for having these roadway features, but they still creep me out. But the one, which takes the cake is the "double roundabout" at the 395/240 interchange! It looks nice and interesting from above....from a satellite. But from behind a wheel...it can be hair-raising! I guess I don't mind driving them that much. My biggest fear are the other drivers. I get cut off countless times. I swear I get nearly nipped on every entry. If you'd like some entertainment. I'd say grab a patch of ground above this engineering feat, and then watch the madness! Surely with the Blue Bridge nearby (notorious for being cause of the most accidents in the Tri-Cities) & this roundabout, auto insurance people will have their work cut out for them with these two scary driving attractions! read more

My first experiences with roundabouts were in England, luckily in the passenger side of the car (that's the left side). The person driving grew up in England and had roundabouts down to an art, easily cruising through, not braking, not slowing down (I swear he always accelerated), and on the other side of the road. So, when roundabouts came to this country, my mind was conditioned to driving through a roundabout on the English side. This roundabout really is not the mother of all roundabouts, but it is unique for two reasons: it's a double and you can check in on Yelp! I'm not sure why it doesn't merit a 5 star rating from everyone? It keeps the traffic flowing. Perhaps, it's the ability to check into Yelp while driving. I love roundabouts. How does one ever get lucky enough to actually YELP a roundabout? The major difference between the roundabouts I grew up with in England and the roundabouts here are the size difference (and the fact that you go around in the opposite direction!). In England, roundabouts tend to be much larger and allow the traffic to flow at almost the same speed as the approach road. Yes, sometimes you speed up as you enter them in order to keep the traffic flow steady. Just like when entering a freeway, you don't EVER want to be forced to stop unless absolutely necessary. Just like in England you have every right to leave the roundabout and no right to enter it. (Don't try the accelerate method in France where you actually do have every right to enter the roundabout but NO right to leave it.. Please google pictures of the French traffic nightmare at the Arc de Triomphe or any other major roundabout in Paris.) I can't believe I am reviewing a roundabout. I think we need to have a roundabout YELP review section in Walla Walla where more and more roundabouts are being built in order to improve traffic flow. I don't like roundabouts. People crash in roundabouts. In Europe people drive smaller cars. They work better in roundabouts. Large American cars are not as much fun in Roundabouts. read more

Some do not like the roundabouts. Personally, I don't mind them. Once you learn how the traffic is supposed to flow, they are easy to understand. This was a good move for the city as I feel the traffic flows better through this area now read more

I am not a fan of roundabouts to begin with, but this one is just not that well done. I think the center cement curbing should be painted some color that makes it stand out better and I think that the road curves are to sharp. Larger vehicles don't do well in this one. I have seen and heard of more roundabout accidents than what happened in those areas before the roundabouts. When this one was open in it's first several weeks I saw crazy things going on. Please consider painting curbing and better marking flow of traffic. read more

Drive defensively every time you enter this roundabout. I'm usually in a very small, low car and people often look right over me.

Dangerous! Dumping traffic from an interstate into a multi-lane double round-about is just plain foolish. Signs at the entrances warn motorists not to enter next to a truck and one of the rings is too tight for a semi to navigate and stay in their lane. Skid marks and smashed barriers are evidence of numerous accidents here. Badly executed! read more

Kind of a confusing double roundabout, but I am not the best driver on the road. I try to avoid it if possible.

Use your turn signal when you're exiting the roundabout. Helps keep traffic flowing!
