US Anesthesia Partners in Austin handled the anesthesia for my surgery back in April. I have United Healthcare Insurance and they considered USAP out of network. There was a lot of back and forth for months with the two companies as far as the amount that I owed. Today, Ashley in Austin resolved the issue and honored the original amount owed versus the higher amount that came back after UHC reprocessed the bill months later. After that they tried to claim my Heath insurance and only $100 something was paid to them. Now they billed me $1000. I want take care my Bill and pay them $800 but they insist me to pay $1000. This is the worst medical group I have ever had to deal with. I had a procedure that was 100% covered by my insurance. I provided all my insurance prior to my procedure. USAP sent me a bill which I paid thinking this might be the portion I owed. Upon further investigation, USAP never billed my insurance. When I called to correct it and again provide my insurance they AGAIN never submitted the claim. I was assured that the claim would be filed and that I would received a reimbursement within 45 days. I have called multiple times to check on the status only to realize USAP customer service has lied!! 40 days later they still have not submitted the insurance claim and say they don't have the correct insurance. My next step will be to fill a formal complaint on USAP with the Houston Methodist Hospital System where my procedure was done. read more

This review is not for the doctors. This review is for the billing department. For going on seven months, I have received bills when they did not bill Medicare. I called Medicare to verify. I continue to explain to the office, but there were two dates of service in separate months. They billed one correctly, but continue to mail, email and text bills when they did not bill Medicare at all for the first bill. This is a deal breaker. read more

I was happy with my anesthesiologist for my services. The problem came with their billing department. They called to collect pre-procedure, I was given an amount to pay that was supposed to have been discounted since I was pre-paying. I paid them with credit card. Then I received another phone call trying to collect after I had already paid. Then I got a credit for which I did not understand, Then after the credit I received another phone call trying to collect. Now 4 weeks after my procedure, I received a bill in the mail for $6,914! An amount never discussed with me. This company is dangerously mismanaged in their billing department. I am going to ask an attorney to get involved. I shouldn't be surprised but this is STILL an issue. I continue to get bills and have to keep calling, just to get another bill saying I'm past due. I am so tired of dealing with this company. They failed to bill both of my insurances properly and now I am paying the price with the stress caused from seeing bills for over $300 for something over 2 years ago that frankly I wouldn't owe if they had just billed the insurance correctly. It has been 6 weeks since my surgery and I am still waiting for an itemized bill showing all the account numbers they created for me, how much i "owed", how much I paid and a zero balance. The last 2 times I talked to someone there they said they had already sent it on the mail, and then that they would mail it that day. That was 14 and 7 days ago. I have already filed a complaint with BBB and contacted my doctor. Someone needs to stop this company from committing what seems to be fraud. Worst experience I have ever had with a health care provider. The provider was condescending. I was overcharged for the anesthesia and am now stuck with a $2100 bill that I can't pay. They offered to send me to collections and no other assistance even though they would only have gotten $300 if my insurance had covered the procedure. DO NOT use this anesthesia company. Do not use these people if you can possibly avoid it. Had surgery on 3/19/1019. US Anesthesia Partners of Texas billed me $1,800 for a procedure. Medicare said that the billing form the US Anesthesia Partners was a duplicate of a charge already submitted. I explained that to the billing department, but they went after me anyway. I appealed for relief through Medicare, and Medicare ruled in my favor. US Anesthesia Partners was informed of that decision, but they sent my account to collections anyway! I had to prove to the collection agency that the ruling was in my favor before they would leave me alone. read more

I had a surgery in 2017 and never heard anything else until today when I pulled a credit report and saw a charge over $3300 and one over $4100 that I never even knew about. It is in collections on my report and I called the collections agency and they had the wrong insurance and never even filed it. I called USAP and they didn't have my current address and said we didn't have insurance which is just wrong because the surgeon and the hospital and everyone else was paid. They won't do a thing and I'm stuck with 2 collections on my credit because they didn't file it? That's just not right!!! read more

Any time you have to have surgery please check to see who your anesthesia doctor will be. These people are so rude and downright awful to their patients. They are crooks who just care about money and not the quality of their service they are supposed to provide to their patients. The anesthesiologist even admitted to not knowing how much to use due to my weight, which actually scared me. My family and I will never be using this company again no matter what the circumstance and I recommend everyone else do the same so you don't have to put up with the crap I did. read more

It sickens me to have to give USAP 1 star to post a review! My original review was 11 months ago. Since then, We have had no end of problems with this USAP's SHADY billing practices! Just today we received another bogus bill when USAP has been paid in full MONTHS AGO! Calling their billing department is a waste of time. Amanda, so called supervisor, very unhelpful. They don't know which end is up in the billing department. Its always "we will research it" and then a month or two later we will get another bogus bill! It's too bad for the physicians that work there. My orthopedic surgeon lost me as a patient because he uses USAP. I cancelled my knee surgery and will look for a physician that doesn't use USAP. I am considerably upset with the billing department. I had no choice in the anesthesiologist for my procedure, and i paid amount owed according to my insurance co. but i paid before i received a bill from USAP, and then my ins. co. reconciled with them and paid the same amount that i paid, and have been trying to get my refund now for a month. Every time i call they say they have to have their team lead look at it and call me back, which never happened after 4 calls to them. They see both payments from the ins co and myself, but have to "research it" What is to research? They see both payments, and know they owe me the money. So after 3 weeks of calling, they told me they were processing the refund, a week later i called again, and they said they had to research again. I got upset and told them i want my refund. It was supposedly processing a week ago and now is being researched again? NO now 4 weeks later they tell me it will process that day, and i will have my refund in a week to a week and a half in the mail in the form of a prepaid debit card.... How ridiculous when i paid with a check. If i paid with a check i should get my refund in the form of a check.. They said they don't do business that way. WHAT WAY?? I paid by check, i should get my refund by check? There is no excuse for all the excuses they have given and they got double payment, and should refund immediately, and without all this garbage. The anesthesiologist was terrific, but there billing department leaves a whole lot to be desired. They need to get my refund to me, and if it is not here in one week i will be going to the BBB and complaining. read more

Dr. Van Nguyen was my anesthesiologist at Lenox Hill Hospital & it was the worst experience ever!! He was totally uncaring, doesn't know how to talk or treat patients & mainly didn't know how to put in a basic line & when it didn't work out, refused to relinquish control & call someone to relieve him until I was crying hysterically & cursing at him! BEWARE! I had my son in July of 2017 and was administered an epidural by one of their contracted employees. Last year I found a report on my credit report for over $5000, they never billed my insurance, tried to tell me I wasnt insured, told me they would research, told me they would call back, 4 months later I am still waiting for that call. This will ultimately help no one because if you need anesthesia in Austin, you will probably get someone sent out by these guys....USAP are not doctors; they are a medical staffing service partially owned by doctors, that holds a monopoly for anesthesiologists at most, if not all, Austin area hospitals. My 13 year old son broke his neck. The surgeon at Dell Children's hospital ordered an MRI with anesthesia. USAP showed up. Not my choice. No discussion of the cost. We were at an "in-network" emergency room as required by United Healthcare. USAPartners takes Medicare/Medicade, (fee would have been $648.) They accept workman's comp (fee would have been $1608) and Blue Cross Blue shield of Texas would have capped the maximum fee a little less than workman's comp. However, USAP was not part of United Healthcare when my 13 year old son broke his neck in May, 2021. Their fee? $6264 or $83.52 per minute. Why so high? Because with no competition and no contract, they can charge whatever they please. United Healthcare did ultimately pay 80% of the full amount as my contract requires in an emergency; but, I was left to pay a co-insurance payment 3 times what it should have been. USAP is busy vilifying United for having a monopoly and squeezing them like a "Boa Constrictor". I would describe their tactics exactly the same. I was caring for a teenage boy with a broken neck and a husband who had a transplant surgery and was pressured weekly for money. I got a vast array of bills for different amounts. USAP would never explain the disparity. Under duress, I was pressured to get involved. I was told by an advocate I should request United pay 75% and USAP would consider the bill settled. They lied. I have received a bill for another $1152.18. This dispute has nothing to do with access to quality healthcare. This is about one thing; profits. This is a staffing service that corners the market and pays hefty profits through a private equity fund to their investors, 56% of whom are not doctors. Shame on Dell Children's who claims to be a not for profit hospital and yet allows a for profit, medical staffing group an exclusive contract leaving unwitting patients to pay a big price. read more

This US Anesthesia company have been constantly calling me over 500.00 Bill that was billed in errors on there behalf from the start. They told me they billed my Medicare A and it was denied. I contacted Medicare & it was never billed A or B. They started out billing it as out patient when in fact it was in patient surgical procedure. So now they claim the billing is not for Anesthesia but claim it's for Dr services which they never said to begin with & bill claims it's for the Anesthesia which is covered under Medicare A. Mean while while I'm trying to figure out all this billing mess they are continuing to hound me calling me several times a week. It's very upsetting! I paid them 218.00 on the 500 bill last week then they continue calling me this week. I'm outraged & will report them for these billing practices. It's harassment and uncalled for. read more

US Anesthesia Partners had a billing and coding problem. They refuse to acknowledge that my procedure was a pregnancy related procedure, but instead even after their "coding review." They did not resubmit the bill to my insurance carrier so they could pay for the pregnancy procedure in full. Instead they standby their subsequent hospital care statement and coding, and not include any additional information to my insurance carrier to indicate this procedure billed as subsequent hospital care is actually for a pregnancy procedure, so now with that being said, my insurance carrier will gladly pay the full amount because it is required based on our benefits. Please stay on them about their procedures, and I am glad numbers are speaking for themselves. read more

Multiple phone calls, told I need to fax my bank statements, faxed copies of their billing site of payments made, faxed my credit card statement. had to get new credit card and debit card so they can't continue to withdraw money from me. 2 months and they are still calling me to say I owe money. I would never use these providers again. I initially had surgery and then had to have 2 emergency procedures. I had three separate bills. They called me twice and I explained that I had just gotten back to work after being in and out of the hospital for months. They said ok. I then sent a payment in for $400.00. Instead of them applying it to the oldest balance they dispersed it over all 3 balances and sent me to collections. I have never been in collections in my life. I called their office and left a vm. After waiting 2 days with no call back I called again. I explained my issue and was told I had to call their billing office. I called 888-325-6084 and spoke with the billing office. I was told there was nothing they could do and even if I made a payment plan I would still stay in collections. I then asked to speak with a supervisor. Audie the supervisor told be that they called me twice about my balance. I confirmed that yes I did speak to 2 different people and told them I was paying my balance and had sent a 400 check. She said well you were in danger of going into collections. I tried to explain to her that no one ever told me I was in danger of going into collections. She offered no help so I asked to speak with her supervisor. She first tried to act like she didn't have a supervisor, kept talking over me and kept repeating herself over and over. I repeated myself over and over that I wanted to speak with a supervisor. Finally she said supervisor Anna would call me back within 24 to 8 hrs. but there was nothing she could do. I can't believe that they would send someone who is paying on their balance to collections. Their whole attitude of idgaf about you as the pt. is horrible as well. If I ever need surgery again I will specifically ask not to have one of their doctors due to their rude office and billing practices. read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. Be it your good fortune if you DO NOT have to work with this company. I did not even get to choose. The anesthesiologist was great! But this company is ridiculous in managing financial arrangements. I set up an auto draft payment arrangement as directed to pay my balance, which I was directed to do online after so many calls and letters almost amounting to harassment. I was instructed to wait for insurance to process before I could set up payment arrangement. I paid off a significant balance to clear my payment plan 4 months early. They drafted the large payment and then drafted the regular payment as well even after I had specifically told the agent I was completing my payment arrangement. I assumed that would cancel any future recurrent payments, as I was not told otherwise. I called to check on why the payment was taken out after my balance was paid. I asked to have my money credited back to my bank account since I had cleared my balance. I was told that could not be done. I have called several days. The agents are not helpful. I was told they would look into it, after I told them my bank statement reflected my payment to clear the balance and the extra one they took out. The supervisor I spoke to told me she would submit a request. I asked for a supervisor on another call, after asking when my money would be refunded, since the agent would not give me an answer. I called again today, as my money had still not been credited. Did not seem hard for them to debit it but surely hard for them to credit. I called to today to see if they had a date I should expect my money back and the agent told me 2-3 weeks. She told me the check had not cleared. However, my bank showed the debit for the payment already and had for two days. I told her more than once the bank had cleared the payment. She proceeded to tell me it was my fault because I did not pay online and cancel the payment arrangement. I had tried on more than one occasion to pay it off online, yet it would not accept payment. So, I had to call and told the agent I wanted to pay it off completely. I was basically told today by the agent that I was responsible for cancelling the auto payment, rather than the agent I told specifically who took my payoff 4 months early. To me the common sense thing is to cancel out any future payments for the client/patient you are serving. Do not stress them more by dipping into their accounts and then blaming them for the company's poor service. It is frustrating and the agents basically blame you if they double dip because they do not seem responsible for the job of managing the accounts. I guess they just let auto payments continue indefinitely if you pay off early and do not cancel the pay plan yourself. Even when they do not even tell you any direction to do so. SHADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am reporting them to the bank, my doctor, the facility and anyone I can. If I had money like that to hand out, I would not have had to set up a payment plan in the first place. They do not care about the people they are supposed to be serving. After I signed a payment plan these incompetent folks breached the contract and sent me to collections. I signed up for a payment plan and all was going good until September of this year, no one contacted me or sent me a specific communication that I needed to set up a new payment plan. I have been calling the extended billing service since 11/5/2018 and was given false information as to when I could expect a resolution. The COB office in Maitland, FL couldn't locate the extended billing service notes. Today, I received a call of the outcome of my request for breech of contract. Basically, nothing was done... that will be the easier way to explain the whole fiasco.....The company can't sustain their mission to conduct business with integrity, excellence, respect, innovation, and accountability.
