Joe did an excellent job -- A+ -- on my shower replacement and I am very pleased with the result. Joe came to estimate the work, providing good suggestions (enlarging size, adding bench, angled glass enclosure). He gave me a reasonable price with no pressure. The job involved removing the old tub/shower, replacing the plumbing, building a bench, wet-mopping, adding cement-backing, installing porcelain tile, replacing the flooring, adding drywall (including re-stucco-ing, and repainting). Each team - demolition, plumber, framing, wet-mop, tiler, dry-wall/painter - was professional, competent, hardworking, and clean-minded. Keep in mind that this is not a one day job --- mine took 1 1/2 weeks. Joe was always responsive to my calls and kept the job moving. Also, his quote does not include the glass enclosure. Joe sent me a good glass enclosure contractor and he added an additional week - 1 day for estimate, 5 days to cut/temper the glass, and one day to install. I enjoyed watching them work. To get the job done right, there is a lot of expertise involved. My wife was so grateful that she always provided snacks and water for the crews. read more

I strongly dislike giving reviews lower than three stars. Unfortunately, I cannot give more than two stars here, and I should only give 1 star-. My experience with Joe, the manager who handled most of the communication, was terrible. In my opinion, he did not have enough hands-on construction knowledge to properly manage a remodel. He seemed to rely almost entirely on what his employees or subcontractors told him, even when they were wrong. When I pointed out mistakes, he often pushed back, blamed me, or tried to make me pay to fix issues caused by his own crew. A few examples: -We specified grout colors, and they used them on the wrong tiles and areas. -The wrong sinks were ordered. -The wrong faucets were ordered. -The wrong tiles were ordered. -The wrong counter top was delivered. -Kitchen cabinets were faulty and installed improperly. -They promised one type of flooring, then delivered something completely different, including a different color, and installed it incorrectly. -They tried to conceal faulty piping inside my walls. Had I not walked in unexpectedly, I would never have seen it. -They poured a foundation for a small extension without making it deep enough or installing a moisture barrier. We now have tiles showing signs of moisture damage. -They did not repaint several rooms. They cleaned the walls and then claimed the rooms had been painted. -The electrician made serious mistakes, including issues that almost caused a fire in my house. The overall pattern was simple: -They made mistakes. -I had to catch the mistakes. -Joe often tried to shift blame. -They tried to charge me to fix problems they caused. I also felt like Joe tried to take advantage of me financially. He handwrote the quote and invoice, and I trusted that the items we discussed would be handled as agreed. Later, he tried to back away from what had been discussed and claimed certain items were not included. Only after I involved the owner did Joe back down and admit he had made a mistake. There were also major management and communication problems: -Joe is not the contractor who owns the business. -From what I saw, there was no professional contractor consistently supervising the crew. -Joe would come by occasionally, look around, speak with the crew, and leave. -The crew often seemed confused about what needed to be done. -Communication between Joe and the crew appeared poor, which caused constant errors. The crew was also a revolving door. Different people came on different days. One person would start the flooring, and others would come later to finish it. The same thing happened with tile, plumbing, electrical work, and other parts of the project. Each time someone new showed up, they seemed to have little or no idea what had been agreed to. Joe also asked personal questions that made us uncomfortable, including: -Where are you from? -What do you do? -Can I see your cars? -"Wow, you went to that restaurant? It's very expensive." -"This was an expensive house. You must be very rich." That felt inappropriate and uncomfortable. Overall, this was a nightmare experience. Never again. The only reason I am giving two stars is that they finished quickly, and by the end, I was simply relieved to have them gone. read more

Joe and his team refreshed our kitchen with all new cabinets, countertops, and backsplash, and handled the install of our new appliances (sink, fridge, gas range, and microwave) within our budget and desired timeframe. Joe made sure I got all of the kitchen features I wanted including a lazy susan for my corner cabinet, pull-out spice rack, and drawers for our deep pantry. The team worked around our existing island which we wanted to preserve without issue. Joe was communicative, responding to my texts in a timely manner, and the team working on the kitchen made sure to check in with me regularly when it came to details such as how I wanted my cabinet handles installed. Joe was able to coordinate any additional work that came up such as drywall repair, often bringing contractors in same-day to ensure that the project was never blocked. I found Joe and his workers to be respectful and easy to talk to throughout the project. We've been enjoying our new kitchen now for three weeks and we are very happy with it! read more

First time the guy came out to provide the estimate and never followed up or returned calls about a quote to add onto the cabinets they put in for the previous owner seceral years ago. We had a very good experience with this company remodeling our entire downstairs floor, lighting and complete kitchen. Joe gave us a very good price and even offered financing. This was our first remodel project ever so we did our due diligence by reading a ton of reviews and getting multiple quotes over a number of weeks. We even worked with a designer and got quotes from her recommended companies. However, we found US Kitchen and Flooring on Yelp and chose them based on their reasonable quote, high score on Yelp, and responsiveness to inquiries. Joe, Sam and their team remodeled our master bathroom and our floors. They were both super patient about our last minute changes and selection of materials. They listened to our ideas and were open to providing feedback based on their expertise. To our surprise, our master bathroom remodel project was completed in the timeframe Joe had quoted and he was always super responsive and kind. He was easy to communicate with and our overall experience working with him and his team exceeded our expectations. Even after our projects were done, when we experienced a leak with our tub filler (the faucet we bought was faulty and had a small leak so we had to wait for the manufacturer to send a replacement part), Joe was still very responsive and quick to send out his team to install the new part. I had the opportunity to see another client's bathroom prior to hiring US Kitchen and Flooring which deserves high praise. It's great that someone is happy enough with their project to open their home to me to see the finished product. The crews were great too. They showed up when they were supposed to, did great work (tile work is amazing!!) and cleaned up after themselves. Closing the doors in the hot summer would have helped out the electricity bill but otherwise no complaints. Fair and competitive pricing. I learned some things about the rehab process and it would have been helpful if I had a better supplier process. Note - for their projects through US Kitchen and Flooring it was my job to supply plumbing fixtures. I'm savvier now but Ferguson did not provide the help I needed as a first time rehabber to get all the right things. So I wish I allowed more time because we had a delay related to wrong tub and faucet combo. Joe was very understanding and they promptly returned to work when I had the right parts. During the process of redoing our kitchen and downstairs floor I had many options. We decided based on some other yelp reviews and the pictures that US Kitchen and Flooring was the best option. I have had many experiences with contractors in the past and going into this I was on guard to deal with a lot of arguing and fixing work. With Joe and his team none of this was the case. Pricing: 5/5 Stars - Pricing for full kitchen remodel was thousands less than other bids. Timeline: 5/5 Stars - From start to finish it was done within 4 weeks, and I delayed it a small bit cause of choosing a countertop took us a tad longer. Quality of Work: 5/5 Stars - Simply amazing. Everything came out perfect. Joe and Shahin made sure of it. Shahin's attention to detail with the cabinets was on point. If needed he worked late and did not stop until everything was perfect. Shahin single handedly built and put together the cabinets within 4 days. He also addressed any minor touch ups. I can't recommend his work enough. All of Joe's teams were exceptional with what they did. Cleanliness: 4/5 Stars - Varies by team that is working that day, overall way above average. Communication: 2.5/5 Stars - I guess nothing is perfect is it. Joe and team seem to have A LOT going on and if you are patient you can overlook this. Using this company is like taking a shot in the dark. They have a big crew, but most of the people that do the service either don't speak English well enough for you to explain anything to them or do below average subpar work. Joe, one of the owners is the worst. No attention to detail, never admits when something was done wrong, goes through employees like its drinking water, so you don't know from one week to the next who is coming to your house to finish the job. Moreover, because there are so many changes, often he will hire someone clueless just to finish the job. The worst part is that Joe himself, does not know anything about construction. What was supposed to be a $95,000 job, ended up costing us just around 190 k. because of all the mistakes these guys were making. The owners of this outfit don't project manage anyone, so their employees make tons of mistakes, that have to be redone. Guess who pays for it, you. You pay for their mistakes. WOW. In addition, I could never confirm whether they have a valid license, and even though I asked, no one ever showed me a license or proof of insurance. The only reason why I hired this company is because everyone else was too busy. I had limited choices. After dealing with contractors, who repeatedly lied and over promised, for over 7 months due to extensive water damage to our home, my wife and I went to US Kitchen and Flooring to pick out material. Joe informed us that they too do interior work in addition to providing the material ( very reasonably priced btw). We set up a meeting for him to come take a look and provide a quote. After signing the agreement, Joe and his crews started working a few days later. What we were told by every other contractor would be a 6-10 week job, Joe was able to complete in a little under 4 weeks, which was a blessing given that we had been living in a hotel for 8 months at that point. Joe and all his crews were extremely professional, always on time and have done an amazing job with exceptional attention to detail. We highly recommend them for all interior work. As a matter of fact, my wife and I have already recommended them numerous times and will continue to do so. Our house required wall patching, electrical work, all new flooring, an entire new kitchen as well as painting all throughout. This was my husband's and my first time remodeling a part of our home. We had become first time homeowners earlier in the year, and decided to take the plunge into a double bathroom remodel (master and guest). We had no idea what it would be like to work with a contractor and felt a sense of nervousness at what it would all entail. Well, thankfully, we chose a great company to work with because I am absolutely astonished at how relatively painless, quick and easy this whole process was. Everything I thought might be the case (getting "surprise" costs added on, things taking much longer than anticipated) was a non-issue here. 100% if we have remodels happening in the future, we'll use US Kitchen for our business. After getting a number of quotes that were way outside of what we were thinking for budget, Joe gave us such a good deal (they were doing a promo on tub to standing shower), that we couldn't pass it up! After signing the contract, we were able to start construction a few days later and both bathrooms were completed in roughly 2.5 weeks time. Joe was really considerate about trying to make sure we had 1 fully working bathroom while the other was worked on, and on getting things moving so that we could wrap up relatively quickly. Although it went by quickly, I never felt that things weren't up to standard. I liked working with Joe because he let us make the decisions (never tries to coerce you into anything), but he also helped to give us advice or other suggestions if we weren't sure or needed the input. He also helped us by connecting us to a glass shower door maker, and we had beautiful custom-built vanities for both bathrooms for a reasonable price. Joe called me almost each day of the project to give updates. There were a few times I had to reach out to check in on what was happening, but for the most part, he connected with me. In addition, any time I called, he always picked up or called back immediately, so I felt well taken care of. Communication can be a bit touch and go, as some of the other reviews note, but thankfully we were flexible since we were both working from home. Might be a bit more challenging if you have children and aren't at home quite as much. Anyways, to sum it up, great first experience, largely because we had a great company to work with. I hired US Kitchen and Flooring to remodel the hallway bathroom. Their quote was reasonable and they were able to start the job fairly quickly. The whole job took about ten days to finish. Someone from his team was at the house almost everyday and each guy did an excellent job with the tile, countertop and vanity and the vinyl floor. They were even able to build a vanity cabinet with enough drawers when I couldn't find one I liked online or in the stores. I would definitely use them again. read more

Please take the time to read this review.  If you're anything like me and really shop around, it will be in your best interest.  My flooring journey took over 2 years just to decide on what kind of flooring and where to buy.  I went to many different showrooms and stores, but didn't really feel any kind of connection with the sales people.  Some sold too hard.  Some didn't show interest when they heard the amount of my budget.  But, just when I was about to settle for one, I decided to stop into US Flooring in Lake Forest and see what they had to offer--  Well, what can I say, but that it was the last place I went to and the first place I knew on the spot that the journey was over.  I instantly felt comfortable with Joe and didn't feel like i was being ripped off.  He was upfront from the start, and always honest with timetables and expectations.  When my materials were stuck on a cargo ship, both Joe and Sam made accommodations to make me happy.  Although the material wasn't my first choice of flooring, I am so happy it ended up stuck on the cargo ship because I couldn't be happier with the alternative choice I made.  Things happen for a reason I guess.  But point is, even though my alternative selection was more expensive and the cost of materials increased, both Joe and Sam stayed true to their word and didn't pass on their loss to me.  THIS IS BIG!  THIS IS HONESTY-- something I highly value when it comes to customer service.  Their workers Alfredo and his brother were always helpful, punctual, and very clean.  Always cleaned up after themselves and just made sure I was happy each and everyday they were there.
