Went to post office today to recover a package that was sent to this office due to wrong address and the weird creepy lady that is a the door to give package. Pretty much told my that "its not here and it got sent back" very annoyed with me and didn't care that I had a tracking number and didn't even check to see if my package is even it at there post office. This is after James told my mother on the day it was sent back to the post office that "they would put it back on the truck to be delivered to the right address" I don't understand that it is so hard to help people in there place of business? .... Joe saved my package! I accidentally sent my customer's package to the wrong address. I dealt with about 5 people at this post office to make sure my package intercept went through. Somehow I paid twice the amount for the intercept but their system didn't show any receipt. After 2 calls to this location, I was finally assisted by Joe who followed through with my package instead of treating me like a criminal messing with someone's mail. He called a carrier in the area to pick up the package in good faith that I had paid for the intercept. It went back to the Auburn post office and is now on its way to the right address. Having an online business that is dependent on good reviews, I understand that giving a good rating is important to these guys. As long as you pay for tracking, the post office will try to help you. Very long lines. Waits could easily exceed 15 minutes or more. It's amazing how the line can extend into the hallway, yet they only have two reception booths open. The upside is that staff have been friendly, accurate and efficient for the most part. Impression: they get the job done, but if you're late for an appointment, dont even try. read more

Overnight packages WILL NOT get to you on time if you send them from here. Even if you pay $40 for it guaranteed. I tracked the package and for it being overnighted it sat at the post office for 12 HOURS! The workers obviously do nothing while they work. This has happened on multiple occasions and has yet to actually get to the person the next day. I would rather spend my money and time elsewhere where it will actually get delivered. They can't even deliver the mail or packages to the right house, and when I finally get them sometimes they have been opened. Pretty scary when you've got banking information that doesn't get delivered or has been open by the time you get it. Don't they check the address before they put it in the box dumb s****. read more

i live about 45 minutes away and i got to the post office before they even opened today, 45 minutes before they began doing passports and waited in a huge line and finally they came along and took everyones numbers and told us it takes an hour for every four people! And they take a half hour lunch break! They were nice enough and suggested i wait my FOUR HOURS out in the library down the street although i decided to just drive home and head back in a few hours, but i was informed that i have to be early because if they call my name and im not around, i have to go to the back of the line!! You would think that any establishment with people lining up outside the door before 10 am would be eager to serve all of their customers in a timely fashion, maybe hire more than one employee to work per day, but since its a nonprofit government establishment, they just take all they time they want. read more

One star is over-generous for these guys, but I don't have the option to give them less. People there are on a power trip and are the least friendly people in the world. Picking up packages is the worst and takes forever. Many times we have multiple packages there and many times they give us the wrong package for the slip and don't both to look to see if there are other packages available for us. Twice we have had packages sent back because they didn't give us all the packages and we lost track of what slips we had "Correctly" received packages for. I have asked all family members to use UPS and make to to have all companies use USP when I have an option. read more

This post office seems to be staffed by gorillas, rabid elephants and angry black bears. My parcels keep arriving utterly mangled, and sometimes missing all the contents. Today I received a parcel with irreplaceable fragile contents that was crushed beyond belief and looks as if it was run over by a Mac truck...fleet. I can understand an occasional fluke of an item mangled by machinery, but this seems to be a regular pattern for this branch. Colour me extremely unimpressed. read more

I know my mail delivery problems aren't necessarily the fault of the people at this location but I went in there to find out why my mail is being returned to sender when it has my correct name and address on it. Started to briefly explain this to the woman at the counter and she interrupted me before I even got 5 words out of my mouth. "Do what?!" ... if she didn't interrupt me, I would have been able to explain "what" it was I was trying to do. I'm a very kind person to people in the service industry, but after that I said "well if you would give me a moment to actually speak, you would know "what". I had a package that was kind of lost in the shuffle and he took the time to explain to me the steps to take to help find my package and even gave me a personal phone call to tell me the matter was resolved. Hold on to your hats and pants peeps...Because you are about to be blown away!! I was actually in and out of a United States Post Office in less than a life time...in fact...it gets even better...I was in and out in less than 10 minutes! And not only that, but the lady was going to close her window and go on break, but she decided to help one more person...me...before leaving! She was waiting for another employee to get her station ready to take over so that she...the lady that helped me...could go on break. And the cherry on top of this review...she was friendly!! You read that correctly...a postal service worker was friendly! I don't know about anyone else...but I am feeling lucky...maybe I should go play the lottery...or put all of my cash on red 21 and let it ride!! Came in and needed help sending some mail off. Although their lines can be long, the service if great!

Went to get my passport, walk in appointment. I didn't know what to expect or how early to arrive. I ended up being 11th in line, so get there early! (Also could have been the season to get your passport) I read reviews of people complaining that it took a long time, but what was not mentioned is that if you don't have the proper form/picture/photocopy they got you covered. Instead of turning people away they will work with them to make sure they get their passport applied for that day, if possible. They also announce that if you are a ways back in line you can go grab an early lunch or run some errands and come back, so not so bad. I have a trip in April so I expedited my passport thinking it would take 3-4weeks. I got my passport 8 days after applying for it! Really great service and just kind people who are willing to work with you! read more

I had to go to this post office to apply for a passport, as everywhere else did not have appointments available in the time frame I needed. I had everything I needed, got there early enough and was the third or fourth person in line. Upon opening, a guy comes out (looked like Doofy) acting like he was so above everyone else, with his almighty set of keys,his position was so authoritative. He examined my documents, saying I needed my marriage certificate, and was rudely pointing/jabbing at my application like "It's right there!" I was sure I had what I needed, but didn't want to wait and be denied, so I went home, dug for said proof and went back. By that time, there was no way I was going to be seen. I wish I had just taken the chance. Fortunately, I was allowed to go in to ask a quick question, which surprised me. The lady I talked to was nice and helpful, even said the guy was wrong about the misinformation and rolled her eyes knowing he was wrong, totally wasting my day. She said what I had was sufficient but still had to come back the next day. This cost me two days of work, as I had to request the whole day since I didn't know how long it would take. The following morning, a different guy opened up, shortly I was called in. I actually saw the same lady, thinking, cool. I'm sure she wouldn't recognize one customer from the next, just doing her job. Was night and day, she must really hate her job. She was so rude, slapping my paperwork around. Some random girl had approached me at the counter to ask me something, which was weird, but I just answered her and went to proceed with my application. The lady laid into me, almost yelling, "Is that person with you?!" I said no, looking at her like WTH, she said that no one is to approach while we are in the middle of the transaction because it's private material. I get that, but I had no control over the girl that approached me. It was as though the lady was that close to denying my application simply because she had the power to do so. This is the best part: when it came time to swear in, raising my hand, I solemnly swear, etc...the lady was smacking her gum the entire time while I'm supposed to repeat after her. I literally had to ask her to repeat a phrase because I couldn't understand WTF she was saying. With that, I think she was just about to slap me upside the head. Saturday, 11/12/16, at approx 10:17am, I called Auburn main post office to inform them of a problem with mail delivery to my address. After receiving initial recording, that said hit "0" to transfer to receptionist, I hit "0", 7 times and finally hung up, without talking to anyone. The first problem; a prescription, that I had to sign for. Approx. 11/7/16 I contacted my mail order pharmacy to inquire about my prescription. They said there was attempted delivery on 10/20/16. Neither at my house or my mail box was there a notice there was mail for me. Second problem; mail addressed to my address was delivered to my next door neighbor's mail box. Neighbor handed mail to mail person, explained it was delivered to wrong address; that it should go to my address. As of today, have not received the mail. It is a disability check, that comes every two weeks. This is not the first time I've had problems with the mail. It's just the first time I attempted to complain. Hopefully, someone from the Auburn post office reads Yelp, cause I can't reach them!! Thank you. read more

This post office needs a serious lesson on customer service. Dont yell at me cause I asked a question. Dont yell at me cause your package intake thing is always full and never opens. Excuse me for trying. Try being decent its not hard. I can look past the line that's always out the door and the fact that your package thing is always jammed if the people that worked here were at least half decent. Tried to call again and the phone number on 'Yelp' is the passport office and they don't answer the phone either. Then I called the direct # 530-885-7943 and they don't answer the damn phone either. So I called the 800# and they said I'd be on hold for an hour or more. WTF! I had a package to be delivered today and the carrier came and didn't leave the package, even though the tracking info said it was out for delivery. Damn Post office isn't worth shit! read more

If you're considering using this 'facility' to obtain a passport, DON'T, don't even think about it. One of the worst experiences I've been through with a government agency. The first time I went there, the roster was full and it turned out that you need to be there very early, then sit there and rot until these high-minded bureaucrats honor you with their presence. Got there early the next day and as there was no sign-in procedure, we had to sort it out among ourselves who the order in which we got there. Got there around 7AM, there was one other person, so we all agreed to the sign-in order. Then, since there were no chairs, benches or anything to sit on, we had to sit on a hard terazzo floor and lean against the walls and wait until 10 AM. And I'm 74, so sitting on a cold, hard, floor didn't do my back I(or attitude) any good. Some snippy, rude lady kept coming out and shooing everyone away from being near the entry door, 'rules you know'. And there was no restroom, so we needed to go next door to another government building to use the bathroom. And the frosting on the cake was that I didn't have the 'right' Birth Certificate, only an original Hospital Birth Certificate. (Yeah, need a Big Brother approved one, so Big Brother can ding me for yet another fee in this money-hungry state. When I left that building, I was so mad I couldn't see straight: the women that 'helped' me were cold, rude and uncaring. And I returned the feelings about how I felt. I'm actually thinking of cancelling my trip with my family to Europe, I refuse to repeat this dismal experience. read more

First I'll say the Postmaster there was apologetic...But this place is a joke if you need to apply for a Passport! It was a Friday and we got there at 10am.... We signed in and the lady who did not answer our questions just said that there was a 2 to 3 hour wait! "I cannot say how long the people in front of you will take!" "If you leave you will lose your place so don't leave", but then told someone else they will try and fit you in if you leave and come back! It must of taken a family of three an hour I think because only one person was working the Passport office when we first got there and be advised there are NO benches outside the main counter we had to stand there for 4 hours! People who have problems standing for long periods of time! Also Government Building so there is NO public restroom at the Post Office! My advice? Make an appointment somewhere else and don't go here as this place needs help! read more

Just got our passports renewed and had none of the problems described in other reviews. Lesley was efficient and pleasant. She let us retake and approve our photos before printing them and assembled our paperwork quickly. There were two desks in the processing area to accommodate two groups at a time, along with the area to take the photos. It helped that we had gone online beforehand and had our forms filled out, black and white single-sided photocopies of our supporting documents ( e.g. CA Driver's License) and proper payment (no credit cards for the State Dept) as explained on the travel.state.gov website. Make sure to sign in out by the PO boxes as soon as you arrive. I imagine Fall is also not as busy a time as Spring for getting passports since more people travel overseas in the Summer (maybe?). read more

I have been having problems with my household receiving mail at our mailing address. For some reason the post office keeps some of our mail at the post office. They won't even let us know we have mail there until it is too late! A day before they were just going to trash our mail they sent a notice saying that our mail has been sitting there for two months and they would trash it the next day if not picked up! TWO months and NO notice until this point. Then today I went to check on some more mail that typically takes two days to receive as it is a subscription sent from within state. It has been 6 days and have not received it. I called first THREE times and no answer. I go in person and the man behind the counter was very rude left for a literal minute and came back and laughed and said, " All mail at your address is sent to your address." I would not recommend moving to this town for this fact alone that this is the worst post office I have ever encountered. read more

Pretty awful, but what do you expect? The lines are super long, and there's usually only 2 windows open max. Not to mention the service is slow, but probably results from both the employees not really caring and a lot of the customers not having anything organized and not knowing what they want. read more

Looking for PASSPORTS @ AUBURN POST OFFICE is not worth your time. Their voice info states to be there by 10:30 & no later than 11. However, be there an hour or more before the clerk office opens, get on the list and get out sooner. They allot 15 minutes per person as an estimate. They do not state that you have to make copies of birth certificates, ID & {social security cards can be used as a form of ID but not needed for a passport). HOWEVER if you do make copies, bring the original birth certificate or you will be turned away. Be prepared to be told in impolite and impatient terms to go to the far wall in the back of the post office to sit down on the floor. There are no chairs, trash cans, water fountains or bathrooms. Disabled and elder people are disrespected when needing a chair. They say leave and come back. If you get your name on the list and leave others will be called before you and that is ok because anyone who comes back before the 3:30 cut off gets to cut straight through the line. I was there when others were not- so I was called in. 45 minutes later people showed up and I was pushed from the desk already being processed so they could 'cut the line' even when they are outside their expected window of time to be served.
