This location is very disorganized. They can't seem to locate packages and will provide an inaccurate update, enough for you to leave. I gave them a tracking number and they tried to locate the package. They told me I provided the wrong tracking. I provided the slip left by USPS claiming delivery attempted (which was a lie seeing on my camera, their usps vehicle drove past my house) and asked them if that tracking number is different from what I provided. She responded it's the same. The lady scans the slip and comes back telling me it most likely was returned to the sender but her colleague probably forgot to scan the package. If chaos and incompetence had a baby, it would be running this post office. Let's talk about Honor and Arceli. Two of the rudest, most uninformed "employees" I've ever encountered. They clearly don't know the actual postal laws (you know, THE JOB they were hired for), but instead they make up their own rules like they're running some back-alley pawn shop. They don't deliver service, they HOLD PACKAGES HOSTAGE. That's not a post office. That's a scam with government branding. Disability access? Respect for the elderly? Forget it. They are flat-out ableist and discriminatory. They go out of their way to make things harder for people who actually need help. It's not just unprofessional, it's disgusting. This place couldn't organize a box of crayons, let alone people's mail. They hire people who clearly cannot (and will not) do the job, then act shocked when customers are furious. Post offices are just one of those things that can be a place that your feeling is solely based on the customer service you experience more than anything else. This particular USPS, I had a fairly good experience. I knew what I needed to do (mail a package) and this was simply a transactional experience. I will say, the person helping me was nice, explained exactly what I needed to do send my package and verified the necessary information to get my package to where it needs to be. I have never encountered a more rude and incompetent post office in my life. I have been trying for a month to change my address with the Postal Service, without success. Every time I come in I get a different story. Today, February 7, I encountered a rude and incompetent manager who refused to identify herself when asked directly. She would not identify regional management. She identified the postmaster by a single name, first or last, who knows. Assuming she was not lying about that as well. The older Asian woman who works as a customer service representative is beyond rude, and has screamed at me where I have left in tears and then had a major panic attack in my vehicle because she triggered my PTSD so bad. Every time I come in this location she glares at me and seems to go out of her way to make me uncomfortable. Last week she accepted a package from me where she then had them sent back to my house which I'm grateful they made it back to me , however letting Me know that this would happen after looking over my packages would have been a lot more helpful. I am a single Mom just trying to make ends meet to care for my children and encounters like this make an already hard life even harder. Kindness goes A LONG WAY! Araceli, Donna, and Teresa actively lied, walked away from me refusing to converse, and hung up on me. Donna straight up yelled (I have the recording to prove that and the way Araceli spoke to me) all because they refused to do their job, apologize for the issues they caused, or problem solve. Apparently I'm the bad guy because I had valid questions about polices that could not be found anywhere and charges that they wanted to use that were not listed anywhere. They refused to provide anything to me stating that an envelope should be charged exuberantly more and classified as a box...... an envelope, a small Manila envelope is not a box just because it had one small sheet of cardboard in it to protect documents. Kid you not- The police were called because they said I was harassing them..... I was harassing them because I asked for manager contact info, to speak with a manager, or to see the policy that states in certain situations envelopes are now boxes. The police thought the post office was crazy, stated I was not harassing by any means, and agreed the post office ladies were just refusing to do their job and upset I wasn't easily budged on asking for the right thing to be done. Anyway, I went to the sumner post office, was in and out in less than 2 minutes. Zero issues, and they agreed that my envelope is in fact an envelope! read more

Older Asian lady was beyond rude to me and my dad. My dad needed to mail out pigeons to New York. He needed to know how much it would cost him so he can tell the person receiving. He went out of his way to come in to get some information, she tried to rush us out and not even with clear answer. She said she had customers waiting. Lady if you don't like your job go work somewhere else. I'm also a customer and she only barely gave us two minutes. My dad is to nice to go back I would have asked for someone else's to help. Horrible policies that they make up at this location which are not post office standard. Then you need to wait in line to talk to someone, they won't answer your question about said policy when you ring the doorbell which says push for questions. They then direct you to wait in long lines with one person working the counter who I watched make errors that needed to be corrected with almost every customer. You can tell long lines going out of the lobby are the norm because they took the effort to put distancing markers on the ground outside. I get a delivery notification saying tgey tried to deliver sat at 7am but no secure place to leave package even though I've been getting packages for the 13 years just fine. I get a notice in my mail saying signature needed. No one came to my door at all. I reviewed my doorbell ring and no one came to the door. I left a complaint on there number. Just a plain lie as we were up at 5 having coffee in front of our window which is by the front door. Suck BS. Now where is my stuff. I'm beyond pissed at the lie. Great job lame post person. Yes , the phone calls not always answered and there could be wait. Sometimes they are spread thin to carry out their tasks due to shortages. However, the people that work at the Auburn location are just outstanding professionals, , every single one of them. They are doing their best and help tremendously when you go there for any reason. This is a semi-big post office and mainly consists of the post offices boxes and lockers, the automated postal center in the main lobby area, and the general cashier/service area. I needed to get some international post card stamps and stopped here. To my surprise they were open on a Sunday due to the holiday. I didn't notice that they were open at first but I could hear the ladies laughing and gossiping through the glass doors. I thought maybe they were just processing mail during closed time but then I saw people go in with packages and come out with receipts. Although I'm fully capable of using the APC which is like a self checkout for packages, stamps, and other things, I opted to go inside. The lady that was my cashier was friendly but there are two sides to a coin. I asked for the international stamps and her smile stopped and she rattled off the price of the stamps and slide the stamps across the counter. I was going to ask if she had anything else beside Forever stamps since certain countries don't take Forever stamps but I could tell she was already over the transaction and wanted to get back to chatting. I probably will stick with the APC next time, since I already know how to use it. Maybe they weren't happy to be open on Sunday for limited hours. Anyway, other than that, I kind of wish the lobby had more places to set down packages and address letters and such but that's a minor detail. Also, apparently there has been a problem with vandalism in the lobby and post office box area so watch out if you come when it's darker. read more

Their communication is horrible, and often they sort packages wrong, and don't deliver them and make the customer come and pick them up. They often hold packages without delivering them and give you inaccurate information. Also have witnessed employees yelling at their customers when you go in, even though honestly, most people don't go into the post office very often, and may not know how the process works. It's probably the worst post office and delivery location I have ever had to use. read more

About 18 months ago, I stopped to drop some mail in the post and noted the flag had inadvertently been left flying. I considered lowering it, folding it afford dropping it in the parcel section inside. In any case, somebody obviously forgot... I gave them a two-star rating. This was clearly an anomaly and my experiences with the post office since have been quite positive. Frankly, the post office is amazing. What other organization can fairly reliably deliver a letter anywhere in the country within a few days for 50 cents? The reason people complain about postal service is because we have set extremely (some would say, unreasonably) high expectations on them specifically because they have done such a great job for us historically. I'm awed by their efficiency and applaud the overall quality of their work. The Post Office plays such a critical role in our daily lives is easy to let a single employee having a bad day or a misplaced (almost never lost) piece of mail distract is from the great job they do day in and day out without recognition. read more

If it were possible to give this place negative stars I would! So it's the holidays and we haven't been getting our mail and come to find out neither have my neighbors. All my gifts I ordered online are being blocked from getting delivered by the USPS because they can't "access" my mail box. I live in a newer community and we all have out boxes in one are of the neighborhood. The post office states that the boxes are broken. All of my neighbors are able to get their boxes open just fine. So what's the issue? The post office has determined that IF 1 box is broken the other ones automatically are broken too. My neighbors went to the post office and waited in line for over an hour to get some sort of answers. Her and I have been calling the post office and no answer at all. The phone just rings and rings. The post office has not alerted the people that live here that the boxes are broken that we will not be getting mail. This is unacceptable. People are waiting on gift and cards from their families. This post office has the worse customer service. First of all the letter carriers in that station can't deliver packages to the right address. Saying the package was deliver, but not to the right owner, that's costing 100.00's of dollars to the person who is not receiving them. And the mail clerk Gina, is rude, likes to argue with the customers and push them on the side, when she doesn't want to deal with the person to call for the next person in line, instead of helping to solve the problems, in a polite and friendly manner. I sent a very important document for my daughters immigration interview requirement. I paid a more for it to be in the Philippines for less than 2 weeks. 6 months later she hasn't receive it. So I filed I claim I was pass around every branch and I was told that they can't do anything about it. I called about 4-6 times with no help. So I'm filing a claim through my bank card. $70 is something plus all the sensitive documents I sent. I sent another to a different carrier and it was delivered to my daughter. read more

This is the WORST post office in the country! We have had mail misdelivered TWICE this week. This has been an ongoing problem. Today I was supposed to have a package delivered by 9pm. Was it delivered? Nope! Tracking indicated "out for delivery" all day until 9pm. At 9pm the status was changed to "ready for pick up." !?!?!? I shouldn't have to pick it up. It was SUPPOSED to be delivered. There is no excuse for this lousy service. I was never a fan of privatizing the USPS...until now. Came in for a quick issue on a hot summer day, pretty busy inside so the staff at the counter split the lines for stamps and other purchases to be handled by the 3 staff members at the front and other issues and picking up packages by a man who appeared like a supervisor. When one line ended the other workers began accepting issue line, when I came to counter I was told they can't help and to get back in line, went back to my spot to wait for supervisor and the staff and line customer got prissy and told me to go to the back. 20 minutes later I get helped by an exhausted appearing supervisor who appears to be doing the best he can, and resolves my issue. While waiting for his assistance the same staff member who told me to go to the back of the line told another gentleman to go stand "behind the black lady." Like other reviewers I can see the rudeness apparent among the postal workers at the front. read more

The absolute worst, We complained about NO mail delivery for 5 Saturdays waited 10 min to have them find a supervisor to complain to and that was a waste of time. We have had packages that said out for delivery on tracking and had to go pick them up. Tracking that said delivered and not, just a couple of days ago our mail was delivered between 4-5PM and a package that said unable to deliver on tracking and that was entered at 7;30 PM, 2 hrs after the rest of our mail was delivered. Partly this is because you have visibility of your mail and when they are scanned, but just this month I have had 2 packages come through this facility and then mis-scanned and sent back to where they were just received from rather than sent out for delivery. I know it is an imperfect method they use, but just figuring out ways to safeguard mail from being unnecessarily sent back vs being delivered to its customers would be so appreciated. Some items being delivered when expected enhance the quality of life events that you attend (gifts, clothing, etc.) and if you can't count on USPS to do an accurate job in delivering packages at least every 99 times out of 100, then they need to stop offering package delivery service and leave it to those that have a stronger reputation of upholding the expectation they set. read more

Having issues the last few months with this USPS. Packages that don't fit in the box get left on top of the box... instead of walking to the door like they normally do, they literally leave the package sitting on top for anyone to grab or even for the wind to blow over and roll down the street. Recently, I checked on an amazon order that seemed to be taking longer than usual, only to find out that USPS stated both items were "undeliverable." No one ever tried to deliver to me and no notification to let me know they were sitting there- no slip, no nothing. So they just sat there and got sent back. Lastly, another package stated online that someone had signed for me upon delivery- simply not true. It was dropped off in my mailbox and not brought to the door. I have work products delivered to my home that require signatures for product security. Isn't falsifying mail documentation illegal?? The laziness of our delivery driver is putting my work products at risk. I will be working with my vendors to use other delivery services whenever possible and judging from the history of these reviews, I suggest you do the same. read more

My local Post Office for the past 15 years, and I've probably be in here several hundred times. The walk up retail counter, well like pretty much every other US PO, has long lines and very slow service. I don't know how many times I've seen the line out the door, and they only have two employees working the counter. Why the three stars then? Well there are some good points, and tricks I've learned. First this location has a 24/7 open electronic self-service kiosk. So you walk in with your package already sealed up, and within minute you can have the shipping label printed out. The line for the kiosk is typically non-existant, or maybe 2-3 people long at the most. Another trick of mine is use USPS.com from home to print my postage. You can print with any household printer, trim the label and tape to your package. Then head down the PO for drop off. Once you have your postage printed, either in store or from home, then you need to drop it off. Just to the right of the kiosk you will find a package chute. If your package doesn't fit in the chute then walk into the retail counter area and place the package on the far right of the counter. Wait to make eye contact with one of the employees and let them know your package is ready for pickup. That's it! So fast and easy, and with these tips you can be like and almost permanently avoid the long counter lines! read more

If you're looking for inherently rude customer service, and blatant disregard for package handling, look no further than the 3rd Street USPS! Uni (my personal favorite) and Jane will cater to your postal needs while avoiding eye contact with you, to have a meaningful conversation between themselves. Even when asking questions, you'll be ignored and/or re-directed to the screen below to read your postage totals. I can't be certain whether it was just a bad day, or if ignoring customer concerns was a norm for this office. On the flip side, this location is huge! Plenty of space to wander around and flip through supplies without any assistance being offered to you. I wasn't asked the same questions the previous customer was offered. I wasn't able to get any answers to my own questions. I wasn't even handed a receipt! Uni slapped it on the counter and I just assumed we were done, as she continued her conversation wit Jane. Been trying to get a package redelivered for some time now because I actually am a carrier at another station I can't make it in to pick it up because of my work hours and days off are constantly being taken away... so I've been trying to work this out over the phone however after holding 50min the first time I hung up and then had to try to get someone to answer for a hour and a half, once someone finally did he just threw me back on hold I'm at 45mins now as I'm still writing this review out of frustration. I received a notice stating I owe $10.50 for additional postage so I put the money in my mailbox and the notice requesting a redelivery it's been three days now and still no package so not only am I out of the money I spent for the item looks like my $10.50 has been pocketed cause the person who answered obviously has no intention of coming back to the phone ...... I wouldn't recommend this place if my life depended on it. I'm working on getting a corporate number due to the way the supervisor Rob Miller treated my husband. My husband tried to ask questions about a package that has been missing for over a week, when anyone tracks it, it is said to be at their post office. We don't live anywhere close to them. It was a huge error for it to be directed to their store but the disrespectful tone and speech that was spoke to my husband was completely inappropriate and unnecessary all because he asked the question if my package isn't there what is the next step. read more

Just yesterday Auburn called me to tell me "the carrier knows I have a pick up today and it will be collected" ..... it was never collected, the carrier completely skipped it! I am not just sending out a single package. These are for my business, my livelihood, hundreds of packages! I've been in contact with Mark in Tacoma even. It's hard to keep up when you're short-staffed. Yes, Auburn USPS accidentally sent my package to Federal Way, but I called and the man I spoke with was very nice AND accomodating. My package literally just showed up at the door completely unscathed. They fixed the issue immediately - for that I say thank you. BTW, they most likely can't get to the phone instantly because you are not the only customer who needs attention, so have some patience! read more

The people that work at this Post Office are lousey and uncaring, yet again today I had a notice that my package was in the mailbox so I went to check and it was not there not only was it not there we have mailboxes at the end of our street and they are all hanging wide open for everyone to see and be able to take the mail. Last week they delivered my mail to the house on the street behind me and thank goodness the neighbor was kind enough to bring it to us. At Christmas they delivered my package to the neighbor down the street and again they brought it to us..and thats only 2 times there have been many more. Always a long, long line. It is very difficult to stand there foreverrrrrr whenever you have a quick thing to do. I have never gone to this post office and been helped right away. I wish they would fix this. Also, as far as mail delivery from this post office, here are my complaints. I have lived in my home 11 years and they continue to give me mail from previous owners, even though I've told them they're no longer at my home. They have even skipped mail service at my house on two separate occasions when I had outgoing mail to be picked up. The supervisor called me and apologized and gave me her direct number. The second time this happened, I called her and never got a response. If you can get your postage stuff done without coming here, do it. It's really, really bad. read more
