It's a postal service location with long waits, cryptic signs, and employees yelling directions from behind counters to people far away behind another counter. Then, of course, you get to watch 3 people get all the way to the front of the line only to learn they did not need to wait to drop off their mail, 2 people storm out when they learn the entire passport process is longer than seven hours, and four workers who shut down their windows because they planned their breaks during peak hours. Getting your passport done on Saturday? Get in Early, seriously . Don't try to get in an hour before the 1pm close, you need 2 hours to stand in line. They have this line every weekend, they should staff twice as many people to crank out these passports. I went to the post office on the day my package arrived, and they had not processed the pallet at that point (that was on me being impatient, though I remained kind and understanding). A lovely post office representative (alana - not sure the spelling) not only checked twice, but took my number in case my package was in the pallet. The very next day she gave me a call and let me know it was ready for pickup. I am so pleased she remembered and followed up. It just shows what a little kindness can do for a person/situation. So for those who are frustrated at the office, remember they deal with frustrated people all day long and it's not right to take it out on them (yes, I saw it twice while I was there). You never know, maybe they'll above and beyond to help if you show a little compassion. read more

This is a busy post office which will give you great service IF you know when to come. The best time to get into this location is between 8am-11am, and 1pm-3pm when the traffic is the slowest. I have always been impressed with the attention to detail and how friendly this staff is. Even during Christmas season, you will be amazed how relaxed these workers are. Kudos to you all! read more

This by far the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. They don't deliver the mail to almost 6:00 - 7:00 pm. They make excuses as to why a package could not be delivered that are not true. For example one time they said the entrance was blocked and it wasn't. Last night they claimed they tried to deliver a package that needed a signature 7:13 pm. They made no such attempt, I was home all evening. Claimed they left a note, no note on the door. Because of the mail carriers laziness I had to reschedule. The delivery guy from this branch (not our regular mailman) suuuuuuuuuuucks. He rang our bell to deliver a "sign for" package and waited a respectable amount of time........BS - he was gone in seconds ! As I was upstairs and making a porcelain deposit, I had NO way of getting that package- and I hurried like a mofo too ! When I yanked the door open and yelled and waved at him he appeared to be looking right at me and drove away - all captured on my ring device. Someone might ask why or if I tried talking through the ring device to the delivery man, I did try but I'm not sure if the Ring mic picked up my audio from my end or if he was just as deaf as he was blind. read more

This is the second and last time you will help yourself to my property. If you too have had a problem you should speak up. This person is comfortable taking things that don't belong to them. This is a rather large post office, main one in South-Eastern Aurora. It's where you have to pick up certified letters, get a passport, etc. I've never had a problem with the people working there, they're always pretty friendly and helpful. However there is almost always a line. They try to minimize it, but there's just never enough people working. So be prepared for a wait. read more

I'm not totally sure what the reason is, but they know that there's almost always a lunch rush and they always only have one person at the counter during this time. It gets to the point that the line snakes all the way out past the entrance. Please figure this out. Spending your entire lunchbreak waiting in line at the post office is an unnecessary level of stress especially when there's definitely usually another person in the back that runs the other register. read more

Long story short... I am in a rush to get my passport (yes, I know this is my fault). I was turned away by the post office closest to me that did passports "without an appointment". The Buchtel station. The "passport" man who worked at Buchtel decided to turn everyone away except four people. Keep in mind this happened about 45 minutes after the passport line opened. I also called them multiple times before arriving and never got an answer. I showed up to this station expecting the worst. I did wait about 45 minutes before I was seen. However, the lady that was doing the passports was the nicest lady ever! She was so polite with everyone. She treated everyone with respect. Even people who did not come prepared. While I can't speak for the whole post office, I will say come here to get your passports. Just like the DMV, this place will always suck. But seeing this lady made my experience one thousand times better. I really wish I would of asked her name. To the lady who did my passport on Thursday April 16,2015 thank you so much! The absolute worst post office ever. Their customer service is horrific and are the worst at forwarding mail. Multiple times we are getting mail delivered to our old address instead of being forwarded. Also "threatened" to not deliver mail since we were returning mail that was not in our name? I really hate giving bad reviews, especially with the post office. I live with this fear that if they were to read this and find out my home address my mail might get rerouted to Greenland or my ex wife, ..When I moved here a year ago I was admonished by several different people to avoid the Aurora main post office, to go anywhere else, even into Denver, as it was so bad. Anyway, every time I do go in there it's to stand in a long line for a very long time. The last time, it was in the middle of the day and there were 12-13 people in line and there was no one behind the counter. I stood there for about three minutes, and decided to cut my losses and leave. A clerk did come from around back and took the next person in line.....one clerk for 5-6 windows and 12-13 people in line...I start thinking, does Fed Ex or UPS deliver mail? I went out into the lobby to the automated machines, several people in line, and one of the two machines were out of order. Eventually, I was able to mail my small package, but what an ordeal. If I had the time I would have asked to speak with someone in charge, but I get the feeling that there isn't anyone in charge. read more

This place is a fucking nightmare. If the 30 person line with only 1 or 2 employees working isn't bad enough, my packages have now started to be sent out every 2-3 days instead of every single day like they are supposed to. I came in to get a letter. I came in early but still had to wait an hour but that's no big deal as is expected. The issue is one of the ladies behind the counter was extremely rude to the customers. In line I witnessed two people trying to ask her a question the first person she ignored until she walked away then the second person she was very rude and told her she would have to wait in line like everyone else. I heard her say that you don't have to be rude and then the lady behind the counter said you're being rude because I am helping a customer. This really is a zero star review. We put in a change of address 10 days before our move date. Six weeks later, still no forwarded mail. This is after putting in two online tickets, talking to corporate twice, talking to Alameda three time and the customer affairs office. Nobody could give us an answer as to what they did with our mail - did they return it? Is it just sitting somewhere? Did they lose it? We spoke to the new owners of our old house and they have received nothing. I talked to our new post office and carriers, they said it has to be at our old post office (Alameda). This was my third trip this afternoon to file a claim for a ridiculously damage parcel that arrived 4 days after confirmed delivery date with everything broken in it, it was for my daughters wedding shower and arrived too late. First trip, had tried to file on line but it would not accept photos, second trip, 12/30 a worker kindly made copies of all 9 pages of my claim and said a supervisor would call that day. Never heard from anyone. Today, 1/22 I was greeted by a very rude SUPERVISOR, named Claudia, who yet again asked me to file a claim. When I asked her where was the claim I filed before, she threw her own coworker under the bus, said he was a man and he doesn't know how to do things right. I was calm but now the line is out the door. I told people behind me my situation and showed a picture of what the box looked like upon arrival. Claudia decided to walk away and do some kind of meditation. Brag on her position of 25 years! With supervisors like this no wonder this post office gets such terrible reviews. She told me I should of got the first clerks name and that the box was probably not good for shipping. Everything was double taped and in bubble wrap! I tried and tracked this package with numerous phone calls to this post office to no avail. It showed up ridiculously damaged, holes in it and 4 days late, with insurance and priority mail payments. Well Claudia, the supervisor, was really reluctant to give me her name even though she blamed me for not getting the name of the first clerk. She yelled at me that I was going to report her, jury out on that, hate to see anyone lose their job, but this was handled so poorly. This is a government job! She gets paid for customer service. She then stepped back and announced to the crowd how wonderful she was and tried to humiliate me. Well girl, I spoke with several people in line that witnessed this horrible customer service and took phone numbers that they willingly gave me if I need them to back up this story. You at the very least should be suspended from your post until you know how to deal with the public. I was totally respectful and I have pictures of you and the people in line that offered to back me up. Rant over! Terrible supervisor! Wow! If it weren't for being understaffed and long wait times I'd give more stars. The staff may be grumpy but I would be too if I had to deal with some of these customers. I just expect to wait and when I FINALLY get to the counter I smile and am polite. You know what... I get really good service. Ive only had one issue with certified mail being lost... also due to staffing issues. We always have a different carrier. I wish the USPS would take note and fix this. Worst Ever Customer Service Experience.... A packaged of mine was shown as being "Delivered" yesterday but I was home all day and nothing was delivered.... So I called them, was placed on hold for 10 min.... Then was transferred when they got back on, because they were clueless as to how to track my package, once transferred, They hung on me. I called back and got a machine that said it was not a valid number. I tried again an hour later just to get the The Rudest Person I've ever encountered.... In the middle of sentence, she says she's got a call and just hung up the phone..... They've got some serious serious Problems over there at USPS. This post office welcomed me to Aurora when their postman said he felt threatened by me (5ft 115pds) when I asked about my mail with my ID on my person at the main mailbox hub for apartments. When I went to put a complaint in at my local post office BOTH the managers were RUDE and did not take my complaint seriously. Although one of the managers came told me he had to reprimand the initial supervisor because she was being aggressive towards me. Also it takes a MINIMUM of an hour to get thru the line. Horrible post office. Great way to waste an afternoon! I waited in line for an hour while carrying a 10 month old baby. The associate who "helped" customers in line to speed up the process had no idea what she was doing and told me they would have tape at the counter for me when I asked. Also, I told her I was mailing one package by media mail and she wrote that down without asking what was in it. When I got to the counter after waiting an hour, the associate told me she didn't have tape for me and that I would have to go purchase some from the wall. She saw me holding a squirming baby and told me she couldn't help me tape the packages because she wasn't allowed to, so instead I had to step aside and tape them with one hand while she helped another customer. When she finished with that customer, she started helping me again, and then she asked what was in my media mail package. I told her it was catalogs, and she said it didn't qualify. She said it would cost $8.62 to mail, and that I could have put them in a flat rate envelope and mailed them for $5. I wish someone had told me that sooner instead of after I had sealed the box! I have never had such a bad experience at a post office before. This was the first and LAST time I will ever go to this post office. I will use Fed Ex or UPS next time, if given a choice. read more

I have called for 4 weeks complaining about mail I haven't received and the abundance of other tenants mail that is thrown in my mail box. I have become the the mail deliverer for the misplaced mail left in my box. I have received 2 pieces of mail from this carrier in the last 30 days, no bills at all! no priority mail! no legal docs! Delivering mail after 7pm! Not even the weekly grocery ads! This carrier has cost me time and money..My advice is to record the carrier as we have and If you don't have to use this post office..run from this post office like you are on fire!!! read more

This post office is an absolute nightmare. Our mail boxes were broken into 3 months ago and we're STILL trying to figure out where our mail is. We've been having to pick up our mail at this post office for months and the wait is usually 20-45 mins because there's only a handful of people working there. The staff is rude and anything but helpful. I spent 40 mins in the pick up line to get my mail and she said there wasn't any. So, I asked her where my mail was if it wasn't in my mail box and it wasn't at the post office and she said she didn't know. I don't understand how the postmaster doesn't know where the mail is going and she refused to provide me with any information on who to contact to find my mail. I continued to ask her why no one knows where my mail is and what to do and she literally kept yelling "I don't know" at me. While I was waiting in line she was mocking other customers and verbally harassing the people in line. This post office is always packed full and the staff is always irritable and rude. It would be one thing if this was a one time occurrence but every time we go there to get our mail no one has a clue what's going on and they immediately catch an attitude about it. Passport service is horrible. The line was only 5-7 people when I came in. However, it took me and people in front of me 2.5-3 hours. There was only one window open for passport, and they put the guy who barely took the passport class to take care of passport. It wasn't his fault, but his manager. He had to go ask questions every 30 seconds. And he took much longer to review documents and go through the process. When I voiced my concern to a lady who we thought was the manager, she seemed to be careless about it. Anyway, do not go here for passport if you do not want to waste your time. read more
