Since February 4, 2016, I have been trying to get this post office to forward my mail from BH to my new address. I submitted the appropriate form on line to notify them of the change of address a couple of weeks before my moving date. When I could see my mail was not being forwarded, I informed the BH post office by phone, in writing and in person. Each time, someone said they would look into it and get back to me. It's been 6 weeks now and no one has contacted me. If this were a private company, they would not be able to stay in business with this type of poor customer service. read more

I have been going to the Beverly Hills Post Office since it was on Santa Monica Blvd. When the new building was built the service hit drastic lows and has remained there to this day. The hours for the PO Boxes are impossible for normal people. Who can get there before they close? We are paying competitive rates and the doors should be open at least until 9PM, Hire a security guard and provide the service you should be providing. The excuse for closing early was that staying open later would bother the residents. Too bad, you chose to build there and I imagine the residents got a say in that at the time. I propose the doors remain open until 9PM Monday through Saturday and 7PM Sundays. Also, get a competent cleaning crew and get rid of that horrible smell that has been present in the post office for years! For heavens sakes this is Beverly Hills California not a post office in a 3rd world country!! This place is a nightmare to say the very least. Every member of the staff is rude including the managers. I waited in line for over 30 to 40 minutes on a Saturday to mail a letter signature required. Well as soon as i was almost to the front of the line it was 1:00 and closing time, so they asked us to leave and come back on Monday. None of the staff is fluent in the English language, they all have very heavy accents that make it very difficult to understand and communicate properly. The staff was unwilling to take a moment and hear me out, all they would say is we are closed now and we have to go home. If you have to use this particular office just be warned that they are very rude and not willing to assist. Show up extra early because they are under staffed and lines are long. read more

The Beverly Hills post office is, apparently deliberately, going before opening hours to at least one non-USPS mailbox business in the city. And then claiming the package is "undeliverable." My husband and I have a private mailbox which accepts UPS and FedEx. We need to be able to receive UPS and FedEx packages and the USPS boxes won't accept them. We live in an apartment with a poorly-secured lobby and we don't want packages or mail going there. So a private mailbox was the best way to go. But the Beverly Hills p.o. has repeatedly made documented delivery "attempts" before 8:30 a.m. when our mailbox business opens. There is simply no way the delivery person is unaware of the opening hours. The hours are posted right there on the door. We have had packages returned to sender more than once. If you use a private mailbox in Beverly Hills, be advised that you need to specify UPS or FedEx shipping, or there's a good change the post office will fail to deliver. read more

This use to be a nice place but since they announced that they were moving, it's not the same anymore. Since all the mail it routed thru the West Hollywood branch, it takes forever to get it. There are some problems that administration should look at because it could get worse. For one, you can hear some of the postal employees making fun of people behind the po boxes. On two occasions, I've seen the person who cleans the floor laughing at people. Also, if you park in the underground parking be careful because one time I saw a car pass by and take snapshots of someones license plate. read more

I had to dial repeatedly for over an hour to finally get a postal worker to answer who told me to give it one more week. Too bad i fell for that one! Avoid if at all possible. Post offices are bad but this one is particularly horrible. They have a monopoly and they know it. A large sign on the passport office says they are open from 1 to 4pm M-F . This is the third time I've visited durring those hours and it's been closed. I wonder if it's ever really open, or if they just say it is to take more money. I arrived a few minutes before 1pm and waited outside the door, 1pm comes and goes and then half an hour later someone asks if I'm waiting for the passport office, I'm then told it's closed. If this was a normal business it would have gone bankrupt years ago and have been replaced with something that is not awful. read more

If I could give this place a lower review I would. I recently got married and my marriage contract was sent from Israel. The post office failed to leave me a notice in my box at my apt, then shipped back my contract under the allotted amount of days it should have been held at the office. I made (and I'm not lying) about 50 phone calls, because no one would pick up my call or so anything to help. They would take a message and then do NOTHING. There is NO one in charge and they pretend to send your details to whoever they claim is the manager. They nice guy at the pick up window even told me there is nothing he can do because no one listens to him and he is "too low down". No one took my case seriously. They even hid from me one time I walked in and demanded for answers. It's disgusting behavior and it's not acceptable. No one apologized. They are so rude. It almost ruined my wedding day and they couldn't care one bit. It's my nearest post office, I can walk there, but I now choose to drive elsewhere. Do not even go there if you can avoid it. I understand that post offices are understaffed, but I just had a female employee scream at me, because she thought I should have added more postage to my envelope. I had already mailed about 70 of these envelopes, and knew the weight, so I understood the postage cost, and for some reason that made her pretty angry. This post office is UNRELIABLE and the customer service is HORRIBLE! I stood in line for 30 minutes to submit a change of address application which the clerk said will be processed in 24 Hours and that change will take effect in a week. I call back the following week to confirm transfer of address and they have no record of my application even being processed! To make matters worse the mail clerk on the phone puts me on hold for 15 minutes when I ask to speak to the manager and then hangs up on me. I repeatedly call back and she does not answer the phone. Ironically you would think that shelling out at a couple of hundred bucks a pop would give up good service. Alas, this is government. If I can give it -4 stars, I would! This location is beyond ridiculous. I been a long time PO Box renter at this location for over 10 yrs. Over the years, customer service been going down hill. They simply don't care. They failed to gave me a yellow card to go pick up extra mail after 10 days. I had no mail in the box in 10 days. NONE. The service desk will NOT deal with this. For PO Box renter picking up overflowing mail, we have to go to the side window which as someone posted, got RIDICULOUS hours. Naturally I was a few minutes too late. Because of their ridiculous hours, I was only able to return in 5 days. When I returned, I got a yellow card. But it was a Sat and once again, mail pick up window is closed. Monday was a holiday (MLK Day) so I went back on Tuesday, waited 40 minutes and was told all my mail got returned because I didn't pick up my mail in time. Excuse me, I tried to pick up my mail THREE times in the past 20 days!! There was no mail!!!! Excuse me if I have to work. I work about 15 mins drive down the street but the pick up window is always so long and the wait is forever that my hour lunch just wasn't enough time for me to drive there, pick up mail from the side window and drive back. I will gladly take my business elsewhere!! This is why USPS is hemorrhaging money left and right. Maybe if they learned what is "customer service", people will use their service a lot more! I would gladly pay double the money for a UPS Store mailbox than to use USPS again! At least access to my own mailbox isn't restricted to what is convenient for them. read more

I wish that I could leave an 1/18 of a star, but one is the lowest. I've lived in Beverly Hills for 10 years and unfortunately this is the post office that I'm forced to use. If there is anything at all you can do to avoid this post office I would. There is usually one person working and at least 15-25 people in line at all times. I've had to wait 30-60 minutes almost every time I go there. The workers are rude, and it's just an all around terrible place. This morning was the straw that broke the camel's back. My husband and I were leaving for a birthday trip out of town and stopped by the post office to pick up a birthday care package that was sent to us. I went to the front desk with my yellow pick up slip to get our box. I walked to the front and was pleasantly surprised that for the first time ever no one was in line. The lady at the front said, "Sorry, you'll have to wait 30 minutes until the back pick up office is open to get this." I said, "It's our birthday and we are leaving to go out of town and this is a birthday package. Can you just go back there and grab it for me please?" She said, "sorry, no exceptions." I said, "but, that door leads to the packages and there's no one in line. Can you just go get it for me?" She said, "no sorry, no exceptions. You can leave a note." I don't know what a note would do? So, I decided to leave my note here. It really won't make a difference because its a government building and we need them. I just wanted to try to warn people to pick another place. Wow, just wow! Not a good wow. Poor customer service, very unfriendly, horrible attitudes, and extremely unhelpful. I admittedly put the wrong city on my package, so I take full responsibility for that. I can not take responsibility for everything else that happened at this USPS office. First, I stood in line, then told the lady at the counter that my package was sent to this post office, explained the address mix-up (well tried to explain, I was cut off mid sentence). She pointed her finger and said go around the corner to the window and talk to them. I asked her, to clarify if she meant outside around the corner or in the building. She huffed and said, no inside around the corner and promptly was on to her next customer before I had time to move from the counter...WTF!!! Now I get that maybe this happens all the time so my telling her my sob story is annoying, but honestly you also took a job working at the post office, so I would assume handling packages along with package issues is a given.(The tons of bad reviews also lets me know that it was not likely she was having a bad day, maybe a bad couple of years). The lady behind the door (the one that was around the corner) was horrible, she told me they didn't have my package even though I know it was there because I called earlier ad spoke to customer service. She told me that the people who work for USPS (the people you get when you call the 800 number) don't know what they're talking about. Mind you she never looked up the package tracking number which I had handy. After some back and forth with her (me asking her how she knew it wasn't there if she didn't even look up the tracking number), she sent me to another window, the manager. The manager wasn't helpful, but he wasn't nasty to me which is why I gave this office one star, He looked up the package and said it wasn't at the office any more. Mind you this was 3 days ago and the tracking still shows it is at this office. No words. I would also like to point out that the guy in front of me was very upset with his service, so much so that he voiced it aloud. The guy behind me told me that he had a P.O.box with this office for 11 years and they closed his box after 11 years of paying on time. He said he had called the office a bunch of times and they never picked up or returned his calls. I believe him because I too called the direct line to the Beverly Hills Office that the USPS 800 number customer service reps gave me (they were very nice, btw) and called at least 10 times with no answer. Seriously USPS corporate office, don't you think it's time to replace the employees at this office? If you can, avoid this office. read more

This post office NEVER picks up the phone. Ever. I've tried calling them for weeks. Also, they don't ring the doorbell when you have a package that needs signing for (We never left the house AND have good hearing). And even though I signed and left the redelivery slip, they have still not redelivered. It's been nearly two weeks, and no redelivery. I lodged a complaint with the postal service, but there hold times are usually 30 minutes or so, so I haven't followed up on it yet (They said someone would call me within 48 business hours. That window has come and gone). Still no package, the date it was a gift for has come and gone, and still no one will answer the phone at this post office. I mailed a package to Fashionphile in Beverly Hills on January 9, 2013. The Post Office attempted delivery on January 12, but they were closed and a notice was left. Fashionphile attempted - very slowly- to get the package. The tracking # is still showing as not delivered. It is a huge mystery that the Post Office cannot find the package. Sadly this post office is just terrible. Even first thing in the morning, the steps and floors are dirty and the supplies are not available. Staff is overworked it seems and it is frustrating that when there is a line, some clerks just close their windows and walk away. I have complained a number of times to the postmaster, but I get only a "oh so sorry" response with no action taken to followup. they should be more like Trader Joe's, every employee empowered to open a register, help a customer, stock as shelf and make the experience as user friendly as possible. read more

I got a noticed and asked me to picked up my international express package in Male drive office. I went there three times, the lady who is taking care of package picking up, an American Africa with red hair, I don't know her name, she said the package didn't be in their office and don't know where is it. I felt lost, if you don't know know, how can I know? Fortunately, an American Asian she is great and wrote an address and Name to me, asked me go to Westhollywood office to find Marilyn. I went West Hollywood office and found Marilyn. Marilyn is so responsible and very nice, she noticed I was worried, she said, she can help me. She spent several hours and found the package is just in Male office! But I went there three times, they said not there, they are wrong. I want to thank Marilyn so much. Worst customer service ever. I keep getting 2 dozen envelopes returned to me for no reason. No one at the post office can explain. No one every picks up the phone, so I had to go there 3 times, and every person I speak to says they don't know anything. I keep sending the same mail over and over and it just keeps getting returned. I asked for a refund of the $100 worth of postage I spent and they refuse, and are quite rude. I'll be switching to Fed Ex for all my mailing needs from now on. It may cost extra, but at lease I can get a customer service rep on the phone every time I call. read more

My comments are limited to my experiences visiting this post office (since I don't think my mail goes through this office). The clerks are the most efficient I've seen at any post office. They are polite and work quickly. This is more than I can say for some of the patrons. This office has a single line system that feeds into usually 3 different clerks. This system works most efficiently, but requires that everyone follows this rule. Countless times, I've seen people try to cut to the front of the line only to have the clerk tell them they have to get in line. And these people actually get upset! read more

I gotta say, of all the post offices I have ever walked into in LA, this has to be the one with the friendliest staff. The 5-star rating is due to Sonshine, who I noticed as I stood in line, was friendly and patient with everyone. Even when people weren't very nice to her, she still rose above and didn't internalize anyone's rudeness or passed it on the next customer. She kept greeting the next person warmly and politely, unfazed by anyone's bitterness. She wasn't like most post office employees who hate their job and take it out on the customer. She was efficient and polite, but most of all, so friendly. She took the time to research the info I inquired about and we even made small talk about our day. It was personable and it felt like I was in a small town, where people are naturally friendlier to one another. Such a simple interaction at the post office can make or break someone's day, depending on the mood of the person you interact with. Sonshine really is full of sunshine in her soul! This Post Office get no respect from me, do to the fact I have complaint about my mothers stolen Royalty Checks going to 2044 PO Box in the Beverly Hills 90213, Post Office has continue to allow them to continue business as normal. I am now calling to the public for help. This was an on going issue until I contacted my Congressman who only had my dead mothers mail return to sender. Now the seven remaining checks went back to the state and my siblings and I have been in court fighting for are dead mothers rights. We found out in 2010 that our father and his family was taking our mother Royalties for more then 25 plus years. Where is the justice. My mother never lived in Beverly Hills. I went to the Beverly Hills Police twice who told me to file a civil suite. I have to keep flying back and forth from GA TO LA to fight for my rights. If you are sending money to this PO Box check it out first please be very careful because this PO Box is has been asking for monies. Maybe the law will finally look into it if enough people complain. First, I would like to say this has to be one of the worst Post Office's I have ever been in. However, I would like to apologize for screaming and hollering at the poor lady at the pickup window for packages and held mail on Saturday, August 3, 2013. I feel so sorry for her because she is at the pickup window taking the brunt of irate, angry and fed up customers. I know she is trying to do her job, however, when you are trying to retrieve your mail that is important to you or a package that you have been waiting for and your are told that they can't find it, or they don't know what happened to your mail, it can be very frustrating. Most times the mail is right there is the post office in another bin or on another floor. The police had to be called because I was screaming so loud and I was so angry. I am not sorry that the police was called, however, I am very sorry for the lady I upset so much. I realized that she is in a bad situation. She is not management, and management is not doing their job to protect and provide a healthy working environment for their employees. They are sitting back in offices somewhere or they are hiding from the public while their poor employees are be blasted, cursed and screamed at for not being able to fin our mail and packages. I just wanted to know where my mail was and the lady could not tell me. I put my mail on hold because I was going to be out of town. I did it on line. What a joke. On line means absolutely nothing. I requested that my mail be held until I returned from my trip and that I would physically come in to pick my mail up because I did not know how much mail had accumulated while I was on vacation and I did not want it just stuffed and hanging out of my mail box at my residence. I told them on line that I would pick it up and I get to the post office and the poor lady could not tell me where my mail was or if the mail carrier had picked up my mail and if it was going to be delivered to my home. She just did not know. She said that the only thing she could do was speak to the mail carrier when he returned to see if he had picked it up and delivered it to my home. So much for a tracking system, especially when you advise the post office that you will be in to physically pick it up. Where is the quality control? Where is the communication among the departments? Where is the proper training for these people. If they are not trained properly then they can't function at their full potential. Where is the caring about the environment people have to work in for them to feel satisfied and secure on their jobs. I have lived in Beverly Hills for a little over a year and I have had bad experiences with this post office, but this is my first written an verbal complaint. I should have complained a long time ago. I would still like to apologize to the poor lady I yelled at. It really is not her fault, it is the fault of management not being accountable for the existing problems on their watch. The officer that I spoke with also told me that he has had to come to the same Post Office for the same type of situation before concerning upset and irate, screaming customers. What is wrong with that? Why is it that the Beverly Hills police have to continue to come to a post office to calm down upset customers when they have so many other important matters to be handling? I just hope that one day some irate, irrational, lunatic of a customer doesn't show up there one day and can't get satisfaction and start taking it out on the employees and other patrons and I mean literally going postal with violent behavior. These are terrible times we are living in, and some people don't need much of a reason to become violent. I came home later that evening and I did have a lot of mail in my mail box, however, I am still missing a few pieces of mail that I was expecting and those pieces should have been with the mail that was in my box. I just hope that someone in management reads my review and become pro-active in trying to resolve some of these issues and once again I apologize to the lady that was working the pick up window. I hope that her working situation becomes more calm and satisfying for her. I heard that this Post Office may be closing soon, however, until it is closed, the public still has to be serviced. We as consumers should be treated with respect and courtesy and with competence. Management get off your buts and start managing.
