So this spot--Mail Room & More inside La Reina Plaza in Sherman Oaks--has been around forever (about 30 years!). The building used to be an old neighborhood cinema, but now it's home to this mailbox center that's finally having its glow-up moment. And let me tell you: the new team is a massive upgrade. The two guys running it now? Friendly, accommodating, and actually happy to help. A total 180 from the previous workers, who... well, let's just say customer service was not their strong suit. I honestly avoided this place before, but now it feels completely different--in a good way. I drop off all my FedEx and UPS packages here, and I pick up my boxes from Amazon, UPS, and FedEx at this location too. Super convenient, no stress. I also got my passport photos taken here, and they did an excellent job with those as well. They offer PO boxes, mailboxes, notary services, passport photos, fingerprinting, and just an overall smooth experience. I highly recommend this shipping retailer after having a most frustrating experience at the other chain "office" shipper right down the street. After waiting in line at the chain "office" shipper for about 15 minutes, I got to the front of the line to ship an envelope to a Canadian government address only to be told that the address I wanted to ship to was not in their computer. Next - I watched as two of their clerks practically argued with me about the legitimacy of the address - even know it came directly from the government web site itself. Next - they suggested to each other to use Google on their phone to see if the address came up ... which it did. Immediately. Regardless - they both stared blankly at me and basically told me that the address didn't exist. Nothing they could do (how about trying to re-type the address in your label machine?!). As I turned for the door ... their line now extended to the door. Next, I decided to drive down the block to the Mailroom. Unlike the cramped lot next to the other place ... I had free and easy parking in the lot behind their shop. Parking is free for "drop offs and pick ups). I walked in and was immediately greeted by two wonderful gentlemen. They were immediately able to find the address in their computer system - and gave me two options for shipping - FedEx or DHL. I decided to go with FedEx ... and it couldn't have been easier with them ... unlike the disappointing FedEx Office location down the street in Van Nuys. Why in the world would I ever go there again, have crummy parking, long lines and inept service when these guys are just up the road from me?!? I might even stop in to the Bundt Cake shop on my way out next time! Now there is some true icing on the cake! Thank you Mailroom for being great, nice and efficient! I work far and can never find a time to pick up my packages. The only day i was able to leave work early and beat traffic especially on a Friday, I get sent on a wild goose chase and have my time wasted. Came in while it wasn't busy and i proceeded to talk to guy with a beanie and grey hoodie. I provided my name and he looks in 1 single bin behind in a rack full of packages him for my package and said it wasn't there. I showed him the tracking saying that the package is waiting for the consignee which is me and was told to go there. Then he tells me that the package is probably still en route by the look of the status. But i also showed him my emails with DHL talking to multiple customer service reps stating that my package is at 14622 Ventura Blvd but he continued to insist that my package was not there not even bothering to double check the entire rack of packages right behind him and suggests i call customer support. At this point Im thinking DHL had lost my package so i called but their system is garbage. So i decide to drive down to the DHL distribution center in Van Nuys to find out whats going on which is 30mins at this point traffic was picking up. I get to DHL and provide the rep my tracking number and he also states that my package was at 14622 Ventura Blvd, and I told him i just came from there and was told it wasn't. DHL rep calls the store and was also told it wasn't there either, but the DHL rep stated that his system said the package was confirmed and received by an employee. So instead of looking over one time, all of a sudden they decide to check other areas of the package rack and what do you know? They found my package. So now i have to painstakingly drive back 30mins and look for parking during traffic hours. Ridiculous I totally get that things can get misplaced. And I understand having separate bins for specific carriers such as UPS and DHL. And I can totally understand if it was busy that only checking once is good enough. But it wasn't busy and had time to double check, even triple check. Could I have been pushy and asked to recheck? Sure. But instead i trusted that the employee knew what he was doing. I went in for a Live Scan for my work and the employee George "aka Chris" took my private information then later texted me asking me out on a date and was very persistent. On the live scan form it does not ask for your number. The employee said "please put your number at the top"so I did. When I left about 20min later I start to get text from him. He didn't even apologize when I told him it made me very uncomfortable he illegally accessed my private info. He then lied and said it wasn't him. These guys wouldn't accept my package at 3:02pm on a Saturday. While I can understand being strict with hours (in some cases) the parking lot was a mess today and it took me around 4 minutes to park. I've never had a problem with them before but this behavior is just plain weird - there should at least be a 10-15 grace period after 3pm where they could still take packages instead of closing. I also had a fair amount of confusion with the hours because the posted hours on the door were until 6pm - does this mean every day, Monday-Friday, Monday-Saturday? Also, the UPS Store down the street is open at least until 5pm for dropoffs - it would be nice to extend your Saturday hours to match other mail places in the area. read more

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I found them when searching for a drop off location for my ASOS return. They are located in the Heart of Sherman Oaks by Nothing Bundt Cake and Jamba Juice. I went in with my package ready to be sent and my label printed. The whole process was really easy and took seconds. I'm 9 months pregnant so I really don't like to linger anywhere long and this was a super quick process. They told me about their other services including passport renewals. Last time I renewed my passport was a hassle at the post office and I have seriously been lagging it. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon but I wanted to renew since it would be a mission once the baby is here. Anyway, I stopped by again to renew my passport. It was a breeze. Nothing like what I remembered. Thank you guys. I say unexpected because in my experience people that work in a post office in America are usually really abrupt and sometimes rude. I'm always laughing as I leave as they joke around with the customers or other customers are joking with them. UPDATE 12/2022: The hours for an essential necessity is starting to become a hindrance. UPS likes to redirect my packages here and I don't mind, but if they're always closed when package couriers are working it becomes frustrating that nothing can be delivered on time. You would at least think that the business would be communicating their hours accordingly to their vendors, carriers and customers accordingly. I love you guys but let's get your hours updated accordingly--that's essential for your kind of business. I get closing on monday 12/26 in observance of christmas, but the 27th also is a little overkill. We need you guys. We rely on your business so let's get these hours going properly. read more

Literally just the best folks around to help you with getting set up with a mailbox fast and easy. Super responsive on Yelp to get a quote and really clearly care for their customers also they stayed with me past when they were open just to help me make sure I got my dad's dad's tax filing extension! All post offices were closed so they came in clutch for me to get everything filed on time. They even confirmed the IRS address for me cuz I wasn't too sure (instructions on form kinda confused me lol) Highly satisfied with the customer service and doesn't hurt that they're open 24 hours, have complimentary drinks and are just the sweetest . Their notification system was down again on 5/31 - I had to call to find out. It's been days and 6/3 a package was delivered at around 4pm. Still no email notification. I am expecting packages and there is no email to let us know whenever their system is down, and I have to look up tracking to make sure delivery happened every time. I called to double check that they could accept my drop off. The lady on the phone was extremely nice and helpful and she reassured me that she could accept a package of that nature. I was in and out in less than a minute even considering that someone was in line in front of me. All I needed to do was confirm it was a drop off and boom, snap, zing! I was out of there. Extremely rude service from the "manager" My P.O. Box expired and I received an email stating if I wanted to renew I would need to pay otherwise my box would be cancelled. Considering they did not have the best service during Covid I decided to find another postal service with better customer service. Because I had a subscription registered to that box it arrived there and when I went to pick it up they were extremely unprofessional and even said I should pay to pick up my box or they should return to sender since I did not renew my box. They clearly did not want to give me my package and did not without a lot of attitude. I've had other P.O. Boxes and have never experienced customer service like this before. Apparently this used to be the UPS store. Small. Quaint. A tiny bit dilapidated. However, most of the shelves in the ...should I call it a store, or a hallway? (It's very small.) the shelves were organized and tidy with a small amount of shipping supplies. We came specifically for the notary service. $10 per signature. I don't know if that's good, bad, or average. I didn't have time to shop around. I needed that signature notarized like yesterday. So, I'm putting that price out there for those of you smart enough to shop around. Recently I've been asking if there's any kind of discount offered for writing a Yelp review, but my 3 young boys were loud and driving my CRAZY @-@ so I didn't ask here. Big points for the employee who didn't appear to be phased in the least by my psycho children. Anyhoo- that about covers it. Oh- parking is metered on the street (difficult)...or in the rear lot. I didn't know that until after I parked on Ventura Blvd. :-/ Btw, this new updated Yelp app makes review posting fantastic. I wrote this right after I left.
