I would not go here if my life depended on it due to the capricious and shameful attitudes of the staff. I was refused service entirely, possibly due to reverse-racism. I tried to mail a single sheet of 8X11.5 paper and was told when asked whats the fastest way to mail it "it's your own discretion" repeatedly. Without any help, and by saying this, clearly telling me to buzz off. I finally found the right envelope after several trials each time at which the employee yelled at me for having the wrong envelope, without telling me which envelope. At the end, she refused to take the envelope after all the back and forth. Unhelpful, rude, capricious. This is why people have no trust in government services. If a clerk can refuse services based on their own arbitrary whims, then it should be posted at the door: "Hello, we are a government service but as to the services themselves, it really depends on your skin color, how you look, or generally the temperature of the air. We're happy to keep spending your taxpayer dollars though." For the manager here, or skip-level manager here, do the right thing and show some accountability by dismissing this employee. You can do better and deserve to be represented in a manner that is not reminescent of a third world country. The video shows the employee who should be dismissed. read more

They always get the job done, but the line is always so long. Even when the line is short, the service is typically so slow that you are in the post office for at least 15-20 mins. The people working are always nice but just slow. read more

I rarely need to mail stuff out but I came in around 11 AM to return my Fitbit device as instructed by customer service as well as get a padded envelope which is another reason I stopped by. I was behind two other people, it did not take me long to mail my Fitbit. The clerk was helpful and friendly, and she helped me mail out my device while I packed it from my end. read more

I wanted to balance out the other 2 star review at least a little bit. The people who work here are super nice and helpful. Sure, the place is a little slow, but it does have a neighborhood post office feel to it. Admittedly, that's not that helpful when you're in a rush, but I don't mind it that much. read more

US Post Office - Post Offices Near Me - Boston, Massachusetts

Will look for ANY way other than this USPS to send something: can't contact anyone, says my package is waiting, but that they have only had the label printed, not that they received it. (According to the person who sent it, it was.) This happened last year at a different USPS; had to call them for a week, and then suddenly the package was found and it was sent. They claimed the person hadn't given them the package back then, too, so suspect someone missed scanning this and it'll be waiting for days on end, or they'll claim it was never given to them. Because they didn't scan the package, there's no insurance on this. Needless to say, I'm unhappy with this. Will be calling in daily until this is fixed, because I suspect that's the only reason my other package was found. I'll be spending the day researching other carriers to use, but I'm incredibly unhappy with USPS as I suspect I'll be scammed out of my money because someone didn't scan a package! I'd rather it took longer to get here, but they actually scanned the labels. read more

This place is where hopes and dreams go to die. I once had a dream of productive lunch hours, picking up packages, sending postcards. That dream is dead. South end residents: visit any other post office you can. Run like Forrest Gump away from here. It is the spiral of despair. My own story: A package arrives--I am not home to receive it. A slip, instead: come tomorrow, it promises, and you can have me. The next day, I come: the package is trapped in limbo between the world of the truck and the storeroom, nowhere to be found. Come tomorrow, they promise. It's sure to be here. Tomorrow comes: I realize the slip is actually addressed to my husband. Slip in hand, his ID in the other, I venture out. Disaster: the slip is unsigned. I explain, plead a little--to no avail. Have him sign it, I am told, and we will give you your package. I meet my husband on his lunch break, he signs the slip, I return. He has signed on the wrong line on the slip--the signature is half an inch too low, and he has not authorized the package's release. The package remains in their icy iron grip. We cannot have it. We will never have it. Give up now, and go back home, you pathetic human. You cannot win. read more

I am not one to write a lot of reviews but I always wait in line so long here that I need something to do. This is my second time here today because the line was even longer earlier. The worst previous experience here was when I came to pick up a package that was supposed to be ready at 10am. My carrier left a notice that a package was waiting for me here as of 10:00 on Saturday, December 7. First off, I don't understand why the carrier didn't leave the package in the hallway, but I've given up trying to understand our postal service. I arrived at West Dedham at 11:15 on a Saturday to find a long line. Oh, well. When I got to the counter, the woman took my slip and left for a longer time than you would expect to just find a package. She finally returns to tell me that the package was "at the Roxbury Post Office". I asked where that was "Dudley" she replied as though I should just know where that was. I asked for clarification, but she clearly seemed convinced that anyone with half a brain should know where the Dudley Post Office is. She said it was too late anyway, since they closed at 12 and it was 11:57 and the package should be at West Deham on Monday. I really needed the package. I asked why I had a notice that the package was at Dedham and she just shrugged her shoulders. A woman in line notified me that the Dudley Post Office closes at 1, not 12 so I found directions and drove over. Guess what? The Roxbury Post Office said the package was actually at West Dedham after all. Oops ! I asked if he would call West Dedham and he told me no because they never pick up their phone. I'm generally not a fan of privatization of government services, but I do think the United States Post Office needs to be privatized. There is NO EFFORT made to accommodate the customer. Of course, I went back to West Dedham and they were long gone. So, now I have to figure out how to leave work early to get my package on Monday. Thanks Post Office. Do all your shopping on Amazon, they even deliver on Sundays. read more

Need to balance out the rating. Disregard those two white bread suburban kids. This post office is located in lil Puerto Rico and has a great community vibe to it. I go here several times a week to ship out packages for my small business. They always treat me well and even go out of their way to help me ship oversized items or any other weird request I might have. read more

Service is always helpful and to the point. However I went this morning at 8:20am expected to mail something before work and found they were CLOSED. How is that possible if the door states they open at 7:30am. Come on people!! read more

The service is friendly but I really wish they had a self weighting parcel check out. I ship 100s of items a day and I really hate taking up the time on the line when I had everything weighted with postage already. read more

I would definitely give 5 stars to Diane who works behind the window. She is very patient and thorough. I really like her. I went there yesterday to mail some Christmas gifts out to Hong Kong to my nieces and nephew. Back around 4-5 years ago, the employees that works there are extremely rude. This post office is so small, the line takes forever, the lighting is so dim. If it's not down the street from my home I wouldn't bother coming here. Would go to the one in Back Bay if I had something small to mail out. It's very difficult not having enough space to gather all my things in such a tight space that's also stuffy. But definitely 5 stars to Diane the brunette that works there. I really like her customer service. Two thumbs up for her. read more

Completely unnecessarily rude. Refused to estimate how much postage I would need to send my mom a card and tube of mascara for her birthday. Became agitated when I didn't want to pay 3.50 for first class mail and yelled at me to keep my sitting dog close. It was clear the teller just wanted to exert her power about my dog he had been sitting next to me the whole encounter and she did not tell me to keep him close until I refused to buy first class postage. I live within .2 miles of this place and will never go again. The rudeness was actually just more confusing then anything. read more

I am giving it a 3 rating because I really like the people who work here. If there's a long wait, it's due to 2 things: 1. Insufficient employees at the windows at busy times and 2. there are so many people who take way too long with their orders which usually involve sending packages outside the country. My problem is with the package delivery. I receive a lot of packages. When they come from UPS or FedEx I can expect them when they promise. With the Post Office it's hit or miss. Then they report to the sender they "tried" to deliver the package -- which they have not done. I am awaiting 2 packages from Amazon that are now 2 days late, no notifications, no indication they've made the attempt, but Amazon reports they claim to have "attempted" delivery. To top it off, when I just tried to call the Post Office to see if they had my packages, I just received a message "answering machine off" and a hang-up. Note: The call was made during their business hours. Very bad. Mail delivery good, but I hate having to deal with their package delivery and there doesn't seem to be anyone who has any concern about improving this, despite the fact that our very corrupt Congress is trying to privatize our Post Office for the profit of their buddies and those from whom they accept bribes. You'd think the Post Office would be able to get people to do their jobs -- in their own best interest. read more
