And every time I go in there to try and find out where my package is, I'm met with this awful attitude by some of the staff. If I remember correctly, the manager is probably the worst of them all. By far the worst Usps i have ever been to. The staff was very rude and refused to assist me in tracking my package. I was provided a contact number and when i called i was asked to call back stop blocking the line and give a call back in 30 minutes. I seriously wish I could give this place negative stars. This is the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. They always claim that they attempted to deliver my packages they never leave a delivery attempted notice. Multiple packages have been sent back to the shipper because I never knew that I supposedly missed deliveries. Because guess what no notice is ever left for me! They are causing me to lose money at this point. This place is ridiculous! It needs to be revamped and they need to hire a whole new crew! read more

Dealing with this post office is a kafkaesque experience. One orders a package unkowingly entering into a labrynth of pink slips, busy signals, lines that dont move, and sweltering offices only to find that the package you ordered has been lost. Its almost poetic how bad this postal service is. I am tempted to believe that it is a long performance art piece about the failure of communication in the modern era based on Tomas Pynchon's "The Crying of Lot 49". I have had problems with this post office since I moved to the neighborhood 3 years ago. From finding my mail strewn across my stoop to lost packages and false delivery notices to being SEXUALLY HARASSED by my mail man this post office has carfully and systematically broken me down. I have had to tell my family and friends not to send me mail because nearly every thing it get is damaged (letters left in the snow, or somehow ripped in half) or simply never shows up (It sucks to get a pink slip, but it is even worse when they dont even leave you a slip). I called the post office to check on a package which was never delivered to my address but that their tracking system says I have recieved, and I get a BUSY SIGNAL? Is it 1993? Had to come pick up 2 packages that got sent back. Despite me coming in 5 minutes before closing, both the lady at the window and another man, Webster, were friendly and courteous and found my packages. Offered me tape to keep my packages together and easier to carry and even told me to get home safe while walking me out of the building. Was honestly shocked at how friendly they were! read more

I would rather have coat hangers driven into my gums than deal with this P.O. location. It is the 8th circle of hell. It is where your coveted treasures go to die. As soon as you walk in, it is like crossing the event horizon of a black hole. I don't even live in this neighborhood, or anywhere near it. I was one of the "lucky' ones from Clinton Hill whose mail got re-routed to this location while the Pratt station temporarily closed. During that time, I had one package lost and another one stuck in a void for days before I was finally able to track it down myself. It started when, despite my having taken the day off to sign for the delivery, I got the little salmon colored slip of death with this address on it. I signed it and put it back in my mailbox. The mailman clearly took it, as it was no longer in my box, but the package never came. I filled out a redelivery request online. Still nothing. I called repeatedly. Customer service was useless and just filled out additional redelivery requests. I tried calling the location, but no one ever answers the goddam phone. Finally I realized the only way I'm getting my package is to go there myself, which involved taking the G train (already in a foul mood before I even get there), trying to figure out which overwhelming, snaking line to get on, and waiting for 45 minutes...only to be told that my package was in the *newly opened* Pratt Station. ...then why the hell did I get a slip with this address on it? Why did no one call me when they saw my MULTIPLE redelivery requests? Or write it down on the slip? Fuckers. So you can only imagine how my heart sank when I just checked on the tracking for another package, only to see the 11206 zip code. I already know I'm not going to get it. To put things in perspective, it was sent from DUMBO, about 20 minutes away, using 1-day Priority shipping. It is now 4 days later. The estimated delivery is Friday 4/10, while the tracking says it is out for delivery now. Nothing makes sense. Everything is wrong. I really, really feel for those who have to deal with this location as their regular P.O. It would be easier to just burn the place down and carve out out a pit from which the residents have to dig their mail. Everyone in the neighborhood should just pay up for Fedex and UPS, and the USPS should reimburse the difference. read more

I had a package that was supposed to be delivered. And the tracking on USPS.com said it was delivered on EASTER SUNDAY, 3/27/16, 2:21PM at a "Garage or Other Location at Address." There are NO GARAGE in my apartment building. I called USPS on April 4th and said the package is actually sitting at the post office for the last 7 days at 47 DEBEVOISE ST. So, I asked they they redeliver it. They said it'd be redelivered tomorrow, April 5th. The package didn't come. I went to the post office on April 6th. I went to the pick up window & the guy who moves the line, said I had to go to the retail window. I took care of a few things at the retail window & the lady said I have to go to the pick up window (where NO ONE was there!). I waited 10-15 mins. More people came behind me. I told one of the ladies at the retail window but the pickup window lady came back. She took my tracking # & all the slips from everyone in line. She pulled me back in & told me that the package was in the truck getting redelivered & it's not on the shelf. And that my request didn't hit until April 5th. So she told me to call their supervisor Tiffany Martinez, at 718-388-8082 to contact the mailman to see if it's in the truck. I went home. NO PACKAGE on April 6th. Today is April 7th, I called the number they gave me. BUSY. I call 7 times more BUSY. They don't have call waiting. I call & finally get through on their main line. I was on hold for 2 hours & 15 minutes, at least 3 different people picked up the phone asking for my name, zip & address. The last girl who answered, I told her I was on hold for 2 hours & 15 minutes. Then another lady picked up the phone a few times & just didn't say anything. I tried calling with a different phone- BUSY SIGNAL the ENTIRE time. Can you imagine other people trying to get through?? I called USPS again & they thought it WAS VERY STRANGE that my package was not redelivered. I also filed a formal complaint against that post office. METROPOLITAN, 47 DEBEVOISE ST. I told her that the supervisor was not there yesterday at 4PM & also was not there when I called today. The complaint is going directly to consumer affairs & I should expect a follow up call in 48-72 hours. They are going to sweep the entire post office and truck to see if my package is there & why it wasn't redelivered on the 5th. If you are having issues, call: 800-275-8777. This post office is horrible. It took for people to almost riot for management to send employees from the back to help on the package pick up line. There were 50 people and yes I counted in total on line.I arrived at 9am to be the 10th person then the line didn't move for an hour. It took a man to yell and almost start a riot for management to come out and ask what the problem was. Really??! Then the Black lady that works the packages with the infamous attitude arguing with all the customers.Very rude. If you don't fancy your job then quit. This post office needs to shut down because they lie about delivering. To top this off I was 2 hours late to go to work. While I don't hold the homicidal wishes of the previous reviewer, I do have to admit that this post office absolutely refuses to attempt to make deliveries outside of letters and magazines. Any time a client or vendor sends me a package, I get a pink note asking me to pick up the package. I know for absolute fact that the carrier never attempted to ring my bell because I work from home. If this happened once or twice, I'd figure it a matter of chance (in the bathroom or whatever), but this rant is based on an 8 year residence. Even on days that I get packages from FedEx and UPS who ring my bell and await my signature just fine, I pop open my mailbox to find a pink slip stating that they missed me and that I must pick up my package form the office. It's not that they rang the bell and I didn't get there soon enough - it's that they never bothered. One would think that such a task a minor annoyance since the office is just around the block, but every time I get there, I find myself at the tail end of a half-hour line - half of whom have that same pink slip dangling from their fingertips. A direct indication that the carrier didn't bother for anyone else either. I've no comment on the waiting time at this specific office, besides to say that the best time to visit is around 10:30am or 2pm, otherwise, the line stretches well beyond the maze ropes. The people behind the desk seem to do their job efficiently and politely, although the time to find whatever my pink slip designates tends to take a bit. If you need something delivered, go with a commercial carrier. After 8 years, the UPS guys knows me by name and we know each others' holiday plans. Waiting in line at a Post Office is always going to be hell; this place is even worse if you can imagine it. The workers move like snails and act like incompetent buffoons. The thing that tipped the scale to 2 star status was that I just called this location in fear of not getting through, and not only did the USPS customer rep pick up the phone after two rings, but they were able to find my package ordered from India on Amazon in their location. I had assumed it was stolen or the USPS messed up because it had been almost a month since they claimed to have "delivered" to my apartment. (Those tracking notices are bullshit.) I try to never use my address for things, just too avoid this post office. I've never experienced anything like it. In the 6 years that I've been living in the district, I can confirm everything mentioned in the comments left before me. Packages are never delivered. Sometimes when you go pick them up, the post office "can't find them." If you find the time to go back a few days later and wait another 1-2 hours, sometimes they will find the package. Sometimes your shipment just vanished (magic!) I've also gone in for a certified letter and been told "the woman who knows how to do that isn't hear today." This is especially helpful when the PO is only open when I'm at work. Today I went to try and pick up a delivery, but the line was OUT THE DOOR. Yes, thankfully it is warm because people had to start waiting outside. This was at 9:10am. I don't even want to know how long that takes, and can't be that late to work. I think I may never be able to get my delivery. Is there any way to log a complaint against this facility? Specifically for generally horrific service? read more

I arrived at this post office at 9 a.m. to try to pick up my package or figure out what was going on with my package. After waiting in line for ten minutes with just one person in front of me, I walked up to the window because this clerk at the window didn't tell me to step up to the window and was just staring at me. I don't know the name of this worker. He didn't greet me or anything. He wasn't wearing a name tag. He was extremely rude. When I got to the window I started explaining to him what was going on with the status of my package, because the status said there was an attempted delivery on Tuesday, December 24th at 7 p.m. However, I was home so I don't understand what happened with that. The package never came and the status never said that it was out for delivery again, so that's why I was at the post office today. Anyway, while at the window, the clerk cut me off while I was explaining the issue. He then proceeded to say, "You don't know the process? You must not know the process." I said,"I lived around here for years." Apparently, he thought I was going to try to give him my phone to locate the tracking number, but I wasn't. I just had my phone in my hand so I can write the tracking number down on a piece of paper and give it to him. I asked, "What do you mean?" He then got very rude and said, "I'm not taking your phone." I said, "I'm not giving you my phone. Normally, when I come to the post office and don't have the tracking number, they allow me to write it down on a paper. I didn't receive a slip so that's what I'm trying to do." Then, he began arguing with me in front of all the customers because I said, "You haven't given me a chance to explain what's going on. You don't do that to customers." Then he kept arguing with me and dismissed me and told the clerk in the next window to handle me like I'm an object. The next clerk was very kind and nice. However, she didn't know what was going on with the package, so she called for her supervisor. The supervisor didn't come for a while. When she came, she didn't greet me or even ask what was going on first. She didn't even know what was going on. She made me write the number down again. While I was doing so, she was speaking with the same rude employee about me in front of my face, which I asked her not to do so. I clearly told her that I wanted to speak to her about his behavior. Then she walked away for another few minutes. When she came back, she still didn't ask me anything and said she doesn't know what's going on with the package and that she has to call the driver and carrier. She made a comment in which she said, "I don't understand this generation." She told me to move to the side and wait. She never came back to follow up with me after that, although she was walking around in the back. Finally, a driver came to me and told me he didn't know where my package was, but that he will be on the lookout for it today and tomorrow and will ask his co-worker who also delivers to my location. He told me to come back on Monday if it isn't delivered. However, I will not come back and will see if I can be reimbursed for the items I bought. I ended up leaving the post office at 10:03 a.m. with no full-proof resolution and no way to express myself with management or put in a complaint in-person. This post office is and has always been very unprofessional ever since I moved to this area. Today, they lost me as a customer for good. I will not be back at this location if I can help it. Look, I can't speak for anyone else's experience here, but I've been using the same post office to deliver records and goods sold on discogs and ebay for years, sometimes making 2 trips a week, and never did I receive any customer complaints about not receiving a record or having it delivered late or mishandled. My discogs is 100% positive feedback, so this place definitely gets my 5 stars. Also, the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. Just don't trip and be patient when there's a problem, because most of the time, it's not the teller's fault. As someone trying to mail things on a deadline plus everyone else who has to mail things (especially when the lines are long & everyone has to get to there job or appointments). Who is the manager for the location? I went to the Post Office to ask a question regarding a new building, had to wait for 1.5 hour to speak to the manager, she comes out and in 2 mins she went back inside. While I was waiting on the long line, heard extremely bad reviews re: this Post Office. Everyone had bad experiences with this post office. After meeting with the manager, she was scheduled to inspect the building but of course she did not. Have been going back and forth for over a month and we are still waiting for mail to be delivered to the building. I called the Post Office, either the phone is forever busy or no one picks it up. I have called the Post Office and have been on hold for 40 mins waiting to speak to the manager. For those of us who have to currently go through this post office because gentrification forced the Pratt/11205 post office out of its building: If you try to reschedule a delivery you missed, they will not redeliver. Just go pick up your package. Count on standing in line for at least 45 minutes. The package pickup line was easily twice as long as the regular line. If you call the 1800 number about your package, they will give you 2 phone numbers to call. Both will have an eternal busy signal. Just go pick up your package. If you want to file a complaint at the 1800 number. But it won't do any good. This post office is simply overworked, having to handle all of the redirected 11205 mail. There are no solutions until our post office opens up again. Just go pick up your package. read more

My passport took 10 days to arrive. Avoid the long lines at the other USPS locations to get your passport. Just call 718-348-3800 to make an appointment, then obtain your passport photo and fill out the passport application. Take these items with you for your appointment and that is it. I paid for the express processing and overnight shipping (no credit cards). Ms. Jamilah Milton of the USPS was very friendly and made the process easy for me, thank you for your outstanding service - the entire process took less than 10 mins. read more

It's been 52 minutes to pick up a package that usually is dropped off between my buildings locked doors, metered parking is 1 hour and still nothing. Guessing they won't pay my ticket. There are people who have been waiting since before I got here and the outgoing mail line is empty, yet sitting employees are not helping. Yes, it's 5000 degrees. Yes, there are multiple lines. And yes, you could spend an hour there. It's incredibly understaffed, and certainly not big enough for the volume of people who use it, but the staff are so calm, so nice and so patient, that they deserve 5 stars! (and a raise!) I've lived in this neighborhood for over 12 years--the mail has never been great, but in the past six months it has gotten downright terrible. NO packages will get delivered to my apartment, NO slips will be left, NO delivery attempts will be made at all, for anything. I run a business out of my home, I get everything delivered. Now I have to make sure something is sent UPS because otherwise it will not get here. read more

This place is one of the worst post offices I have been to, the staff is very rude and lazy. My packages never get delivered and when I track them on line it states delivered or in transit which is bull. I constantly deal with the same issue every time I am suppose to receive a package. There is obviously someone at this facility stealing packages because it is impossible that my packages are always lost. There has to be a higher authority that can put this place in order and if he or she doesn't they are just as lazy as the staff there. I CAN'T STAND THIS PLACE!! Out of the entire bunch that works here there may be 1 or even 2 that have an actual brain and know how to deliver the mail correctly. I've had someone claim to deliver a package to me and sign for it; I never received it. Packages have been left on the ground in front of my mailbox, letters on top of the mailbox, wrong mail received in my mailbox, notice left on the door in the pouring rain and the name fades because of it.
