DO NOT SEND ANYTHING VALUABLE to this post office. Stolen packages, never leaving a pink slip, the postman not locking the mailboxes in front of our building so all mail could be taken by any passerby (cause why bother locking it, right?) But the worst of all is having to go to the actual building. Rude and unhelpful staff and lines that go outside. Saturdays are an absolute purgatory there. I saw the staff members sending a woman with a giant box, a stroller and 2 kids to the wrong window 3 times just for the sadistic fun of it. Where your very life force goes to DIE. I thought nothing could top the 11211 PO, but I was wrong. So very wrong. The scenario goes like this: You are home literally all day expecting a package and no mail carrier in sight. You don't receive a peach slip - nothing. You get your tracking number from the company who shipped it and go online only to find out there was an apparent "attempted delivery." No there wasn't. How do I know this? My apartment window is literally 2 FEET from the front door. You schedule a re-delivery online. They never come. You schedule it again, they never come. You call and schedule a re-delivery. They still don't come. Finally you have to go down there to wait in the pit of eternal, never-ending hell-fire in order to get up to a window - THIS COULD BE HOURS. You get there, same old excuse: "This package is out for delivery" No it's not, because they never come. Still no peach slip. This can go on to infinity with these people, literally sucking hours and days and even months from your life. Scenario 2: Same scenario just with peach slips. You are home all day and the carrier just slips it in your box automatically because they can't be bothered to even carry your package. Repeat above. OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER. One time, I had a package show up 2 months late. 2 MONTHS. On a Priority Mail Package. This Post Office is the gatekeeper to the 7th dimension of hell, and it's only purpose on this earth is for ultimate pain and suffering of the highest order for all who enter or are forced to deal with it because of geographical location. It literally forces you to contemplate throwing yourself over the cliffs of insanity or burning your very own body in effigy to escape having to interact with it. IT MUST BE DESTROYED. Do NOT use the regular USPS website to file a complaint. They direct the complaints to the local post office, and we all know that will do us no good. If you move to the neighborhood, try not to get any mail. Which won't be too hard since they can't seem to deliver your mail to you anyway. I've recently had a missing check cashed - likely due to someone stealing my bank statements from here as well. The office itself is a small corner of hell reserved for those who have the audacity to try and get any work done. Management and employees are typically rude, the lines long, and the office itself looks like a set out of a Mad Max movie. Had a problem here? File a complaint. Wow this is the worst post office ever. I'm despise giving bad reviews but this is the worst post office I've ever been to. The other night I had a package delivered and they didn't leave a slip on the front door. The next day i went to this pit of hell to go retrieve it and waited on a line for over an hour to be told "Oh well we don't have it, it'll be here tomorrow though". I signed up for that re-delivery but they only had 3 windows open and about 35 customers waiting with me. They locked the doors because it was past 5:30 and people waited about 15-20 min to leave. The staff just laughed.... They didn't even help until more than one person needed help. This place steals your packages. 9/10 package shipments don't arrive. Most days the package delivery truck doesn't even show up. They write "attempted delivery/note left" and just keep my stuff. I have filed multiple complaints with USPS and even wrote my member of congress. But she is probably selling my stuff on eBay. UPS has NO PROBLEM EVER delivery to my apartment even when it snows. read more

This post office looks like it is in a third world country in the middle of war and famine. When I first walked in I thought I had somehow mistakenly entered an abandoned building. Homeless people sitting on the floor in the corners and against the walls. Are they there all day? I didn't stick around to find out. It's dimly lit and every surface is absolutely filthy, there's garbage all over the floor, all the displays of boxes, insurance slips etc. are empty. Complete chaos. It's not clear where to stand on line, customers are arguing with each other and threatening each other, people are hanging out or wandering around seemingly without a reason to be in a post office, some of them aggressively asking for money from those standing on line. Only two windows open despite 15+ people on line and the line DID NOT MOVE for over 10 minutes. Staff very rude and extremely slow, clearly just going through the motions and don't care about their jobs. Unsafe and AWFUL. If I could give it five negative stars I would. The only thing this post office branch is capable of is to make sure that when the very second arrives for closing they have a person waiting to lock the door. The concept of customer service is replaced by customer antipathy. The workers are rude, nasty, and have a take it or leave it attitude that is another business in the world would have them fired on the spot. I'm not going to write in details about my problem with this post office. It has been said before by others. All I want to say please CALL USPS AND REPORT THEM!!! 1 (800) 275-8777. USPS has long wait times but if you press 1 and enter your phone number for the call back they will call you back within the time frame the machine estimated. I called twice within this past week, because of the issues with all my packages. After telling them my zip code their response was:"Oh this is Bushwick office!". I guess, our USPS location is very well known there. They will even write complaint for you. It took 5 minutes. They were helpful and very nice. 1 star is too much for it, I would give zero if I could! Worst post office in New York. I sent packages from my online store and the clerk shipped two of them to completely different addresses. Zip code on the box was 22903, she shipped it to 23838 (not even close!!) I guess this happened because she was talking with another person all the time not paying attention to me or to her job. When I noticed the mistakes and came back for the assistance, there was another person, who was rude, refused to give a refund or redirect the packages to the correct addresses. All she said is so what, it will be returned to you because of the insufficient address. Wtf??? These were packages with custom orders over $100 it took 3 days to produce them and now they are going to completely different states! Not to mention that the personnel there is always very rude and arrogant! Not that any post office experience ever seems to be a decent one... but this location is the worst one I've been to in New York. After being in the store for 10 minutes and speaking with two different associates, I was turned away by a third person at the counter because they "don't allow pets" despite no signs being posted (neither of the first two associates seemed to care enough to tell me this either). Despite apologizing and admitting that I wasn't aware of the fact, I asked if I could please pay for the mail I needed to overnight as my puppy is too young to go on the streets and I didn't have anyone to watch her outside. I normally have really horrible experiences with USPS, but this one was quite pleasant. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was a little discouraged seeing such a long line and only one employee working the window. The line moved so fast and I was in and out in 15 mins, which is a record for me and the post office. The woman behind the window was friendly (also a first for me & the USPS) and provided me with several different options for sending my 30 lb package to the Virgin Islands. Worst customer service. EVER. If I could give zero stars I would. The long haired asian woman who works there should be fired immediately- watch out and don't bother asking her ANYTHING. They were out of soft envelopes for priority mail, which I need to use with my printed labels from ebay. I politely asked the woman behind the counter if there were any left, since they were out. She replied "they're to the left" I said "ma'am, they're all out, i checked there. Do you have any more available?"to which she replied "they're to the left" I again told her that I have checked the entire post office, and they are out of the priority mailing envelopes. Honestly the worst delivery service. Ever. My package is labeled priority yet is 5 days late. Have spoken with a several agents after being over an hour on hold trying to locate my package (and trying to figure out why it just isnt being sent out). Am now so frustrated im just bouta walk up in there and they better have my shit !!! US Post Office - Been here since 9am and the line still hasn't moved in 1 hour! - Post Offices Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Without a doubt, this has been the absolute worst postal service I've experienced. I ordered a package from Amazon for a 2-day Sept 5 delivery, which was Labor Day (USPS delivers on Labor Day). Sept 5 arrives and I realize I never received the package. When I check the tracking, it says a delivery was attempted and they left a note. NO NOTE WAS LEFT! The package I ordered was small and could easily fit in my mailbox, so I'm not sure why they would lie and say they left a note when they didn't. I wait a few days for them to redeliver the package, only to find out that I need to schedule a redelivery. I'm annoyed, but whatever. I schedule TWO redeliveries with USPS (Sept 8 and Sept 12) and still no attempt to deliver the package. It is now Sept 24 and I've learned that package is being shipped back to Amazon because it was "unclaimed" the "max hold expired". What? Are you kidding me! Now, you're probably wondering why I didn't try calling the postal service directly. Trust me, I did! Their # does not work and is clearly disconnected. Normally I would go to the facility, but I work full-time and they close when I come back. I am upset, disgusted with the lack of customer care, but I'm thankful Amazon refunded me the money I spent. This has been an absolute nightmare. Please do yourself a favor and use UPS, at least they pretend to care and their local #s work. P.S.
