The building seems clean and orderly and there is a lot of easy parking, but it closes before 5pm and they have removed all their exterior mailboxes and lock their lobby so there is absolutely no way to leave mail for the next day. This seems inconvenient and bizarre when every other post office appears to still have their mailboxes available and makes this location completely unusable if you can't get there during their operating hours. read more

Not only they have a drive thru mail box that makes it so convenient, they also have a self serve vending machine for your priority mail shipping needs. This 5-star review is for one person only, and that is Delbert, the gentleman with the long beard! My husband and I have a lot of packages to send out every week. I usually print our shipping labels online, but occasionally we need help with an address. Delbert has always helped us to get our packages to the correct address, with a 100% success rate! Also, in 2017, my brother and my sister-in-law were hiking the Pacific Crest Trail, and they had me send them supply packages to certain checkpoints along the trail for a couple of months. Again, Delbert helped me with a few of the addresses to those checkpoints! It was crucial that these supply packages got to them. Some of the addresses were a little peculiar, but with Delbert's help, every single one got to its trail checkpoint before my brother and sister-in-law arrived! Delbert is always kind and friendly, and a champion at what he does! He has been helping us for at least 15 years now! My husband and I appreciate his help so much! read more

This is for the guy with the long white beard! Always super friendly and helpful when I go here. And he has no idea how much his kindness is appreciated. I don't send stuff often so I don't always know what I'm doing, and other USPS offices would normally be very condescending/rude once I got to the front. You'd expect that from any government-owned place, but it doesn't mean it's okay. Although I understand there can be a long wait, it takes seconds to answer questions and prevent confusion in the future. I just think this guy should be acknowledged. I believe my package is going to be sent back and even though I left work early, due to traffic, I was not able to make it on time by two minutes. This is really bad service. Remember the good 'ol days? When you have to lick the back to adhere the seal as well as the stamps for each of your letters? Don't you just love the taste of envelopes and stamps? I always wonder why they didn't make a flavored stamp or envelope? Oh well, thank goodness they came up with a sticker type stamp or would probably have a papercut by now. I've had the PO boxes, done the expedited international and domestic shipping, done COD, change of address, certificate of mailing, certified mail. Pretty much every single type of mail, I've probably done it here. If you don't know how to submitted corrected, the friendly staff here will help you, but just don't come like the week before taxes are due in April nor the week before Christmas. If you didn't quite make it here at 4:30pm, you still can make it to the one in Cypress on Lincoln and Valley View or the one on Norwalk and Crescent that closes at 5pm. I have had nothing but PROBLEMS when sending out packages from this post office. Final straw was when I sent out a package to Asia. Paid around $40 for it. Weighed 3lbs and the package was sent back to me because it was a little less than an ounce over!!! SERIOUSLY?! WHAT THE FUCK?! So anyways I spoke to someone there. It happened to be some old lady who was the one who actually rejected the package. She wanted to get all righteous and talk about how many packages she has had to send back for others because they're were overweight etc. I explained to her and showed her the scale that I was one ounce over and why should I have to pay 62.50 as opposed to 40?! To make things better, the tracking was all messed up but she told me I can still use the same label, which stupid me of course I listened to her and now my $300 package is lost and untrackable. I don't know maybe it's time to retire if this job has worn you down. But don't screw up other peoples stuff and costing people money. I'm sure other people who ship packages from here have the same problems. And that old lady is the cause And sorry if you people want to say some technicality bull. My friend who works at a main hub in Anaheim said the package should've went through. I've changed to Artesia and I have have ZERO problems. I am giving this place 4 stars since the customer service here is always great. I come here approximately every 2 weeks sometimes more depending on work. The lines go fast and generally I don't see more than 3 people in line. The parking lot is a decent size. One of the sides of the parking lot share it with the package drop off so it does get very crowded in that area. Be careful pulling out of the lot I seen so many people all pull out at the same time not really looking then getting stuck taking turns on who gets to exit. This location offers forms to renew your passport but they DO NOT take the passport applications here!! You must go to any of the designated areas on the list near the packaging station. The only reason why I didn't give this location 5 stars is the Hours here are different than other post offices. They don't open everyday. I think a lot of the time I came here on the weekend they were closed. read more

One thing about this parking lot, though, is you can't turn left on either exit. Also, you can't make a U-turn at the cross section on Carmenita and 183rd. Although the nearest post office to me is the one on 183rd, inbetween Gridley & Pioneer, I have a PO box at this location. The staff have always been friendly to me whenever I stop by. I'm a big fan of the self-service kiosks. Purchasing stamps, sending out letters and packages - I can get in & get out, all while bypassing the line, which varies in length depending upon the time of day. Stamps increased yet again this year, but I don't mind. The USPS has always been the cheapest and most reliable option, in my opinion. UPS and Fedex have nothing on them. Because of hemorrhaging money, there were talks of the USPS stopping home delivery on Saturdays, which I'm glad to say has not come to fruition just yet. I'm an avid user of Flat Rate Priority Shipping. If it fits, it ships! I often send out packages of items I've sold on Ebay or to my horticultural buddies by paying and printing the postage online. Slap the label on a priority mail box and leave it out for the mail carrier. How convenient is that! You can even have your mail carrier deliver more boxes for shipping to your address. The interior is kept clean and parking usually isn't a problem. Yes, the USPS closes kinda early, but they'll keep getting my business because of their proven track record. You've got mail! I hate this place now I have a PO Box here that used to be 24hours. Now they close the area for the po boxes and are only open Monday-Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 11:30am and closed all Sunday. It makes it impossible to pick up my mail here. Awful! read more

US Post Office - Stupid new hours - Post Offices Near Me - Cerritos, California

Starting August 2013, the United States Postal Service will cease to deliver mail on Saturdays. Mail delivery will occur Monday thru Friday, while packages will continue to be delivered 6 days a week. PO Boxes will continue to receive mail on Saturdays and Post Office locations currently open on Saturdays will remain open. This move will help save $2 billion dollars annually (with a current deficit of $16 billion dollars) as they continue to seek the help of Congress to stabilize the agency. When I first came to the US, the postage rate was 20 cents. Fast forward to present day and it's now 46 cents. YIKES! Who the hell is running this business? With more people switching to alternative methods such as FedEx, UPS, and electronic mail, it's safe to assume that the USPS is doomed. I visit this location in Cerritos frequently because I've had a PO Box here for years. I blame all the moving around I used to do in college and you know the difficulty sometimes of centralizing mail. I swear that I have yet to see a better Post Office location than this one. It's one of a few of locations in CA where I have access to my box, 24 hours a day. Parking is awesome, the venue is tidy, and the staff here is super friendly and helpful. I've never had any issues other than the occasional misdelivered mail and rising maintenance costs. Still, I know it's because the USPS is struggling financially. Want to know how bad it really is? Plans are now in the works to come up with their own fashion line called "Rain Heat & Snow." This post office isn't really that bad. In fact, I think it has a nice facade, in a California Mission sort of way. Although the one thing I don't like is the early closing time of 4:30pm. Usually I don't realize I have something to mail out until about that time, so I have get onto 183rd Street and hightail it over to Artesia to make it on time for the 5:00pm close time there most times. But during those times where I have to go inside and make sure a letter or package is certified or weighed properly, the movement of the line is like any other bureaucracy or bank. No likes to do it, but hey, you have to...so suck it up and listen to your iPod quietly. read more

The USPS Post office on carmenita in Cerritos is usually a friendly well-run place, if by any chance an elderly woman I think her name is Cheryl is working she's Caucasian do your best to avoid her, she's waiting for you.... She's going to examine your package front and back for flaws, misspelled words, lack of tape, she'll find something, if it's your turn and she's the only one available just let her know you're waiting for your friend to help you ;-) the rest of the employees are very nice fast efficient and helpful. read more

Even though going to the post office can suck sometimes, at least the staff that works at this location are very nice, friendly and gives you great customer service. This is my local post office. I love the workers here they're old and very kind. They have been working here for many years since I was a child. The wait times can be very long during peak hours which is weekdays 10am-12pm. They have 2 self serve machines and all the sizes of boxes you would need. The place is clean and there is a huge wall of PO boxes. There is also a drive thru drop off box so you don't have to get out of your car. Overall great post office. It gets the job done. read more

The gentlemen with the long beard is the kindest person on the staff. He was very patient, courteous and extremely knowledgeable when my business partner and I opened our box. The older woman seemed nice and approachable but my opinion of her quickly changed upon learning that I was lied on. I was nothing but respectful in my attempt to gain understanding of their "return package" procedure when I drove from DTLA to retrieve a package that was being held as a one tine courtesy by someone at their main center (which I literally found out about after I sped to the Carmenita location). I never once raised my voice to the lady, never used any profanity, never interrupted her explaining anything nor disagreed with anything she said. To go the extent to lie and attempt to discredit my business, saying my documentation was not up to par and that I was rude and belligerent was outright nasty and horrible taste of character. I've been coming here since I was a kid. When I moved back to Cerritos, I come in 5 times a week. During busy season, sometimes twice a day! Now I live closer to the other post office in Artesia, I still prefer to come here. I love all the people who work here. They are the kindest and the most helpful people I've ever encounter. They treat me like family, I guess I see them almost everyday! The only down side is, right before closing, which is 4:30pm, it always gets packed! Came here to send gift to my stepfather for Father's Day. I used a box laying around at home and the gentlemen (I forgot his name but he had a nice long beard) who was assisting me asked me how big the item was inside the box. It was a small item so he suggested me to use the USPS box to reduce the shipping cost. It went from $60 to $16. When I was trying to re box it, he came out from the counter to help me pick the right box and help me seal it. Someone please put me out of my misery. Just shot me. As in right now! I could never understand the need for this place right now. Considered in that we don't used slow mail, we use emails now. Plus most big packages, we can use UPS, FedEx, DHL, and others because they have stop by stop tracking with guarantee delivery by certain days. Not USPS. You would be lucky if they don't lose your package. One day, I had to run errands and drop off several items that can't be emailed and too expensive for a small package to use UPS. It's cheaper to use Priority Mail than other big shippers because it cost only $4.05 for 1lb or lighter. Plus USPS Priority mail can be deliver to east coast within 3 days while other shippers take 5 business days. Fair enough. USPS it is. I stood in line to be waited to get these items ship out to customers in the east coast. It was a long wait with many impatient people in front and back of me. When it was my turn at the counter, it didn't get any better. The Postwoman looked at my packages and said to me in that Businesses can apply for business account card and I could have gone in a different line. Pfff. I'm in this line now and please just service me. Then she told me that I'm using a recycled box and there's a name on the outside that is not the name of my company address. Pfff. To top it all off, she told me that "we" or me, put too much Priority mail tape around the box. She informed me that I need to take off some of the tape because it was too excessive. Something she explained that the tape might stick to other package by mistake. Pfff. That last claim she made was a total BS. After all the ordeals of having to listen to her and having her degrade me, she did something to piss me off even more. She decided to peel off the "Delicate Package" sticker of the boxes. She told me in that I can't stick that on unless I have insurance. I was about to do an evil ninja drop kick on her. I was too pissed and steam about the whole ordeal. First the long line, the bad attitude, the ego-power trip, then the audacity. It was just too much. When I got back to the office, there's two more packages that needed to be sent out to another client in Chicago. There's a note in that it needed a priority mail shipping for these two 1-pounder. I boxed it up and tape it up. Put a packing slip on the outside. Then stick a shipping label on the top. Decide to make one important phone call. The other line: Hello, this is UPS, how may I help you today. Me: Yes, I would like to schedule a pickup for two packages tomorrow please. read more

Ok, so I've only been here a couple of times. The only reason I would even step foot inside a post office is to mail something overseas or if I know the letter will cost more than 44 cents. I seldom need stamps since I take care of my payments online, save for the very rare occasions when I actually mail a Birthday, Congrats, or Thank you card. On this particular occasion I had to mail a box to Hawaii, an oversized envelope that definitely costs more than 44 cents, and a sheet of stamps. I rate this place on the human interaction portion of the experience. The person behind the counter (the guy with the very long beard) was as sweet as can be. I even asked if I could just purchase half a sheet of stamps and that was not a problem. My interaction with him was great from start to finish. I have absolutely no complaints. read more

This post office is kept rather clean and is organized at most times of the year, minus the holiday season. While there can be long lines here on weekends and near closing, I have found that this is the post office to visit when sending out packages. Compared to the Artesia location it is much newer and bigger, but still operates on a small staff. There's also a guy here who seriously has a long beard, and I've been seeing him there since I was a kid. The beard just grows longer. I'd say to come here if you're nearby, have some time during your lunch break or otherwise, or are a local. They surely beat other postal service prices. read more
