Mom and I had a few things needed done that brought us to the Long Beach area. She also needed to make a stop at the post office to mail some important documents. Thanks to Yelp, that's how I found this place. (It was closest to where we were.) There was only one worker available. Luckily, it wasn't very busy on a mid-day weekday. She was friendly matched with a friendly smile. And she was efficient - we were outta there in no time. I rarely go to the post office, but I feel like their workers have always been essential. When only one employee is assigned to the small office and needs to take a 15 minute break, leaving a lobby full of customers who have no idea what's going on when nobody is at the front counter is not good customer service. At least put out a sign saying you're on a break and will be back. read more

This one-star is for Employee No. 15--petite, female brunette who previously had platinum-blonde hair. I am not sure if she hates her job or maybe just people, but she is abrasive and rude. If you are reading this No. 15, note that I am a retired government employee. While I personally dislike your rudeness and if I can, avoid you, I hate even more the image that you give the public of governmental employees. Plenty of parking, nice open clean area for self services, tons of PO Boxes, nice card selection, a friendly staff efficient staff. Highly recommend. Yes, of course there are times when there is a line, but that is to be expected from time to time especially during holidays. read more

Not friendly staffs and not professional. She doesn't even know her job and re-do to making shipping label several times. Used tone of voice as totally frustrating. I use Torrance post office all the time and they even tape it for unsealed boxes and this place demanded me to buy the tape only for sealing on small box. read more

I really wish I didn't feel the need to write this review. I've used this post office multiple times. The staff is very rude and the office always has something out of stock. Each time I mail a box, I prefer to put a piece of tape across it for safety. I've had boxes destroyed in transit and the piece of tape gives me peace of mind. Since they do not have tape sitting out (all other post offices I've frequented do have tape access), I have to ask the staff to which they always tell me my box doesn't need it. Even if I insist, they will deny me tape. One staff member told me it's against some regulation to put tape on the box. I googled it. She's wrong. What happen to being courteous to the customer? I do not believe I am asking for too much. Yet, this location is adamant against taping a box. For those of you who like to add a strip of tape to your box, BRING YOUR OWN. read more

If you have something quick to do DO NOT COME HERE. This is a small location with mainly one person working the desk at a time until it gets busy. I came in twice in the same day and had two totally different experiences. I believe a negative incident happened right before I came in because the person at counter who was helping people seemed irate. They were talking about retirement with another patron who they knew. They literally said "Dont mess with the mail people". I guess the previous man offended them, but thats not the way to handle a situation with 5 other customers in the building. The other employee came out to help after seeing the line of people waiting. Its a little neighborhood postal office so they have their regulars that they know by name. When I came back about 4 hours later there was only 1 person before me to be helped. I got what I needed fairly quickly as the person who was irritated before was in a much better mood and was very nice and helpful to me. I think postal services needs an upgrade all around. Pay people better and make the working conditions better. We are in 2022 not 1983. Please. read more

I've never had an issue mailing stuff here. But I put my mail (brown padded envelope) in the slot inside the PO on 2/19 @ 12noon and my friend still hasn't received it, It's 2/26/22 today!!! She has informed delivery and has been checking, but not showing up as being on its way either. Seems like the issue is at the Post Office. Calling USPS is a joke! Now I have to actually go in to complain!! What a hassle for a simple piece of mail. read more

I literally belong to some of the youth group that doesn't know how to properly ship a package. The postal clerk named Ed is really amazing, he helped me pack my package properly and neatly. He even took care of the shipping details and explained everything to me pretty well, including the details about the international shipping and how the insurance works with that. I'd commend his work ethics and professionalism towards his job, he knows how to give a really good service. read more

Had to do a last minute package drop. Personable, friendly staff... not a big location - rather old, and smaller than the average post office but nevertheless quaint and clean. Last collection time at this location (at the blue collection box right outside) is 5:00pm M-F and 1:00 PM Saturday's. read more

Still Love this post office! Always a friendly face and wonderful employees! On multiple occasions I have had employees show me how (and on one occasion they assisted me by digging up a box in the back) to repackage my stuff so that it can be sent cheaper....a small box was put into a priority envelope to save over $5...repacked an international shipment to friends in a lighter box & removed one small item to get it under a certain weight (this made it so I filled out less customs paperwork & saved over $20)...etc. I drive out of my way to hit this place and I'm not the only one. This is a small secret PO location, being such, the employees are very friendly and the customers all seem (after a cup of good coffee) happy. Be warned, there is No automated self serve kiosk, but they have a row of postal receptacles that are easy to drop a letter off, right in front. read more

Love, love, love this small neighborhood post office!!! I used to go to the location near the Lakewood Mall. I was actually told one time by someone there that I needed to re-tape a box before she could send it. When I asked her if I could use the tape dispenser that she had, she told me that I could buy a roll of tape or I could take it home, tape it up, and then come back..... Another time I was told that after my vacation hold was up I would have to come into the post office and pick.up.my.own.mail before they would start delivering it to my house again. When I asked why they couldn't just deliver it to me on the date that I requested online (since that's how it's supposed to work, according to the website), the girl told me that she didn't know what it said online, but that wasn't the way that it was done in Lakewood. And then she handed me 2 weeks worth of mail and packages.... So guess where I quit going??? Yep, that's right. I found myself a new post office - one where the people that work at the counter are not so bored by their jobs that they can't help you out when you need it, one where every time you come in, someone is there to offer you a smile and maybe a joke, one where it's a pleasure to be at!!! This place is lovely and my kids love it because they can run around inside and no one shushes them, and then we usually go and get frozen yogurt across the street!! Overall: when you get sick of dealing with the unfriendly workers at the big post office, you'll come down here and be happy you live in an awesome neighborhood with a little tiny post office. read more

I love this Post Office so much so that I closed my PO Box at the Clark location and opened one here. The location is convenient for me, clerks are wonderful. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. It's a small Post Office and can get very busy at times but the line moves at a decent speed. There are no self-help kiosks which would make it even more convenient. Even one would be nice but considering the limited amount of space in both the lobby and the counter area I understand. Parking can be tricky. Lots of street curb parking but availability is limited. If you don't mind a short walk there's lots of parking spaces up the street. read more

I am still in shock about what happened today at this location. As I was standing in line, a customer was just exiting when she told the employee Eddie to wear his face mask appropriately to help save lives. (He had his mask on his chin.) Was the customer a bit annoyed by Eddie? Yes a little, but by judging her scrubs you could tell she worked in healthcare which makes sense that she might be frustrated by seeing someone in public as a professional not wearing his mask above his mouth and nose. To which Eddie mocked the woman and raised his voice for everyone to hear "I can't breathe under this mask... Save lives? Get out of here... If you don't want to get sick, then don't come to this damn post office!" He was noticeably very upset and kept talking about the woman. I couldn't understand what else he was muttering, but Eddie: WE ARE IN A PANDEMIC AND THE LEAST YOU CAN DO IS WEAR YOUR MASK APPROPRIATELY JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER HUMAN BEING!
