An older woman with straight brown hair and glasses wasted my time by instructing me to leave and return with my package after assuring me she would print my shipping label. When I returned 25 minutes later exactly as instructed, she abruptly claimed she was unable to ship the package and responded with an unnecessarily rude, dismissive attitude instead of taking accountability for the misinformation she gave me. The lack of communication and unnecessary attitude completely changed what had otherwise been a positive experience. I feel bad about blasting a post office, as they're struggling to stay afloat. But man, this place has rude staff and terrible hours. I've had less than friendly encounters there before, but today took the cake. I walked into a dark room 15 minutes after they opened. I stood there for a few minutes while a woman was on her phone talking to her friend, dropping f-words like commas. An alarm went off, she walked by me, completely ignored me, shut it off, and slammed a door. Finally she took a break to tell me they were closed. I asked "Didn't you open at 11?" She snapped, "Yeah, well, I got here late." They're only open 5 hours a day. If you can't put on a fake customer service smile for 5 hours in a mostly empty location, maybe you're not ready for a job in customer service. read more

9 out of the 10 times I ever needed to post something here it was closed. Not even during the announced times and not at expected times like lunch. The sign at the door always shows impossible wait times such as "I will be back in 45 minutes." I never rely on it, despite the fact that it is a super convenient location right by the metro station. read more

Less than 10 hours ago, I went to the post office ( United States Postal service office location near/very close walking distance wise to the College Park-University of Maryland metro station). I admit as an Amazon fanatic I was obtaining help processing an Amazon return and the employee on the shift cheerfully helped me ship my order which was fortunately cheaper than I expected. read more

I don't say this lightly, but the employees at the USPS location are easily the rudest people I have ever encountered. The employees at USPS have made me afraid to even speak to customer service representatives (in general) about any questions or concerns I have due to this one employees offensive and rude conduct. I had an issue with a package that was supposed to be delivered to my apartment. USPS Tracking is not very detailed, so all I knew was that there was a failed delivery (with no reason stated) and I knew my package was being held somewhere in College Park. There are several USPS locations in College Park, so I took a guess and decided to call this location to see if this location was the one that was in possession of my package. The woman I spoke to over the phone gave me an attitude right off the bat. Although I was polite to her throughout the conversation (and trying my hardest to remain composed) she grew increasingly more passive-aggressive and angry. She literally yelled at me in response to me asking simple questions or trying to explain the situation. When I explained to her that I was unsure of what would happen to my package, she yelled something to the effect of "USPS DOESN'T PROVIDE TRACKING INFORMATION PAST THE FIRST DELIVERY ATTEMPT!!!!!!!!!!!!" as if this was common sense, in an extremely aggressive manner. I imagine that failed delivery attempts are a common issue, and it is NOT unreasonable for me or any customer to be concerned about the whereabouts of my package when tracking is not being updated. She continued to berate me, mocking my intelligence, calling me stupid for not checking the tracking online before contacting her (she was wrong, I did check tracking and searched numerous forums to see if others had similar issues) and telling me off for stupid reasons. I never hang up on people, especially not out of anger, but I hung up on this employee. I regret not yelling back at her, considering that she was attacking me over nothing despite not knowing me at all. I don't care if she was stressed or having a bad day - there was absolutely no justification for her screaming at me and belittling me for not understanding USPS's policies regarding deliveries that I could not even find online. I didn't make any unreasonable demands, but apparently me asking if my package was at this USPS location and if she knew why my package was rejected was offensive and unreasonable to her. I normally don't get angry with employees to the degree that I feel like I must contact their customer service or provide feedback, however, I went through the trouble of calling the main USPS phone number with an extremely long wait time so I could 1. get my questions answered and 2. so I could file a complaint against this employee and USPS location. read more

My initial review was way too optimistic. I don't understand why this post office doesn't operate on standard post office hours. I dropped by minutes to 9:00 am this morning, only to realize it wouldn't even open until 11:00 am. And this is on a weekday, right before a holiday. This is just ridiculous. Not actually open during anyone's commuting time. Open for just 5.5 hours a day, yet they take an hour long lunch break and close the office every afternoon. And that lunch isn't at a predictable time. read more

Very rude staff. Left my keys at home and asked if I could just bring my bike inside for five minutes with no one there while I mailed a package. I asked nicely and for sympathy but I guess the power of being a mail clerk gets to the heads of the employees who work here. I really want to give this post office a chance because it is in a convenient and tucked away location for me during the work week. However, if you are not simply just buying stamps or dropping off a regular size letter -- FORGET ABOUT COMING HERE!! Just go down the street in Riverdale --- they are more pleasant. THE WORST thing about coming here is there information seems to be different from every other post office location in the area. Pre-paid 2day PRIORITY MAIL won't be accepted if the date on the label is not the date you are dropping it off and that's FALSE because if you packed your packaged the night before to be picked up at your house the next day you aren't putting the postage label that morning! And 2day PRIORITY you have within 7 days to mail out your package (I have a POSHMARK closet). I have dropped off 2day PRIORITY MAIL packages at nearby locations and they look at the label and never say anything about it being the wrong date and my packages are never delayed. But this location will say "I CAN'T HELP YOU MAAM" in a rude not trying to hear you out attitude. "YOU NEED TO PRINT OUT THE LABEL TODAY" and I actually did this time but when you print out the label from the email you get it is dated from the day the email was sent to you. I was so furious I walked out swinging the door wide open and saying I HATE THIS PLACE! lol I know, dramatic. But I was frustrated and annoyed. Oh, and when I came here to mail out my wedding invitations...OMG, they just wanted to charge me extra for "bulkiness" and "weight" which I understood and believed so I complied. But what I don't understand is, how come my other ones that I mailed from another location were sent without extra postage??! I work very close to here, so I can easily walk here-- but 3 out of 4 times you will get RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE from the people at the counter. RUDE. I mean RUDE FOR NO REASON and that's the worst!! It's never that busy when I came here. I repeatedly came because like I said, it's convenient. Well a convenient location, not necessarily a convenient service or experience. But everything that everyone complained about is so true-- hours are subjective, they open late and still have an hour lunch break and you can't even ask a question without being interrupted or this response like you're stupid or worst the feeling that you're bothering them. Most of them move slow too but ready to rush you off and get to the next person and you haven't even left the counter. The most I've seen is 4 customers. So it's not like they had a long line. There was one day 4 people, including myself, waiting outside for them to open up again and 3 of us left after waiting for so long. I would give zero stars if I could. The hours are completely subjective. The clerk closes and opens whenever they feel like. I am here at 2:28 when the hours clearly states they are opened at 2:00. The clerks that work here should be fired or this location should be closed. Go elsewhere. read more

It's true that this location has very short hours, but they are posted online, so I can't really fault them for that. There was only one clerk when I went just after opening, but she was so super efficient that it might as well have been 3 people there. She worked at an inhuman speed and got me out in maybe a minute and a half, with my package on the way. I actually had to make her repeat some things since she talked as fast as she worked. This is only the second time I've used the post office in the last few years, but I was quite satisfied. read more
