This has got to be the worst post office on the planet. I have lived here for two years, putting up with rural mail carriers sticking someone else's mail in my box, while mine goes missing. Packages too. The people at this address before me never left a forwarding address. Stupid mail carrier left a nasty note in my box the first time I took the old owner's mail and wrote "Return to Sender" on it! I've had to resort to taking the old owners mail to Willis on a regular basis to avoid getting my ass chewed by Conroe PO employees for trying to return the mail to the rightful owner. Currently I am living in my RV on my property while trying to sell my obviously vacant house. Recently, my rural mail carrier went PAST my RV (where I am obviously living) to go knock on the door of my empty house to deliver a certified letter containing a check pertaining to the sale of my home, which required a signature to deliver. Since I am not living in the house, the letter didn't get delivered. All she had to do was knock on the door of my RV and I would have noticed she was there and signed for the letter! It took me over a week and 3 separate visits to this horribly mis-managed post office to finally track down my money. There is always a huge line of people in this post office, with similar problems as mine. Recently I sent a written check payment on a loan I have with a credit union in Orange TX. Payment never arrived and I had to scramble and go to the bank and wire my payment to the lender on the day it was due to avoid getting a late/non-payment hit on my credit. A month later my missing check came back, having gone all the way to Orange CALIFORNIA! Seriously! My handwriting is NOT that bad! Due to this, and also after numerous packages kept going missing and being delivered in lock boxes to neighbors who were gone on extended trips, I went and rented a mail box from the UPS store in Willis. Since doing this, I have never once had a package or important mail go missing. read more

I was expecting an express package of plants on Friday, Oct 17th. For some reason, even though I was home, I didn't hear the bell ring. Instead, I found a piece of paper laying on the ground saying the post office will deliver the package again the next day or I can sign and have somebody to pick it up at the post office. Because of this instruction, I didn't go to the post office the next day since I believe, my plants are out to deliver like what they mentioned. However, at 12:36pm on Saturday, I saw the mail man in my neighborhood, but he didn't have my package. When ask, he said nobody gave it to him to deliver!!! If I want to have it the next day, I should pick it up instead. I told him it's never been mentioned in that piece of paper that they WILL NOT redeliver an Express package the next day!!! I could already picked it up first thing in the morning had I known that. I ask him if I could come to pick it up then and he said he is sorry, the post office close at 12pm. I believe this whole scenario could have been avoid, the Express service could have saved 3 days and the plants could have lived had the postal service did a diligent job on delivering their package the next day, or if they ran out of staff due to COVID, they could have a better communication with us of what we could do to have our package the next day. We pay for Express service for a reason. We don't want to receive all the dead plants in the box, 3 days later!!! read more

I have spent the last three hours of my life speaking with 3 different USPS locations in Conroe. I finally was able to speak to someone who happily gave me the correct phone number to the 809 W. Dallas St location. The number is 936-206-3838. Once I dialed this number someone answered and was very nice, didn't place me on hold and forget about me, but politely figured out what was wrong and fixed it. Thank you so much kind woman at 809 W. This post office always has a long line. I've been coming here to pick up my hold mail for over a month. The staff has no idea on how to get your mailbox key. So I'm stuck driving 20mins each week just to pick up my mail. Not to mention everyone I come I wait in line for 20min + every time. Why does USPS suck so bad. I think they scan packages as out for delivery even if they have no intentions of sending them out that day. Then they scan them as delivered so they can cheat on their records. Conroe Post Office is usually ok when you do not have to interact with the employees. We try to use the package box and the parcel drop and stamped envelope drop instead of going into the actual post office. Last night we tried to use the box and realized it was broken. We left and came back this morning, normally there is a door bell that you can ring after 6AM until the lobby is opened. Doorbell is missing and we knocked, and could hear people on the other side of the door. No one would answer, the box is broken, the doorbell is missing and once again we had to leave without being able to send our package. The doorbell has been missing for over a month and when we have to arrive early in the morning, they used to come to door but they no longer come to the door and I know as hard as we bang on the door they hear us. read more

Conroe Office is the worst I've ever experienced in my (63) years from multiple states, Never have I been through what the Carrier and the actual Officials in this location do to the people of the area that they Do Not Serve. Lost, or peach notes, that they can do, does the Carrier ever get audited for the amount of non delivery items,I'm Sure this place must set records for slips and not mail or your packages delivered. I have got the laziest postal carrier in all of Conroe. On top of that, she can not read a bright yellow sign written in ENGLISH that says "Please leave ALL packages at the Front Door! I am so frustrated because we have gone through great lengths with the post office to please follow very clearly written instructions for the safety of our mail and still the idiot comes back leaving our packages in front of the garage door in plain view of the street to be STOLEN. It would take her 1 minuet to leave my packages at my front door where it would be out of sight and protected from the rain. Never had this problem before she took the route. read more

Absolutely useless place. You can stand in line for hours and still not get what you came for. There are two lines - one for picking up and one for delivering. Makes sense. Except they have 3+ employees helping mail and ship and ONE employee running around the back getting peoples' held mail. It causes a lobby full of angry customers. It's ridiculous how long it takes to pick up your mail when it's the post office's fault for not providing you with a lock to your mailbox so you don't have to come here. I went to pick up a package today and I just wanted to acknowledge that one of the staff members was very patient and went out of her way to help an elderly man today. She walked him through everything he needed to buy to ship a package and she put it together for him. She was very kind and patient with him and it was really refreshing to see. I didn't mind waiting a little longer because I know that so many people could have gotten annoyed, been impatient, and been rude to him or any other elderly person that needs a little extra help but she didn't. I just really appreciate that I saw that today and I wish everyone was like her. We could all use a lesson in patience and politeness. It gave me a little extra faith in humanity today to see that. read more

They just try to get rid of you as fast as they can or put you on hold and don't pick up again or they just never answer the phone. No stars. Never get mail on Mondays. I haven't gotten expected mail in months. My pay checks have not gotten to me. Work Company said to fill out paperwork and checks will be issued again. Never got the paperwork to fill out. I only get mail three times a week and it's the wrong mail most of the time. I have had to call many businesses and Amazon to tell them I never got mail or packages. The woman we have speeds through the Woodcrest (1314 area Conroe Tx 77301) neighborhood and is extremely rude to all. Postmaster has been told but many but refuses to help. We pay for reliable service. Video recordings are being prepared to send into Amazon and USPS showing speed of woman carrier and house skipping when flags are up as well as skipping streets with high speed if seen at all on Mondays. Once again a disappointing visit to the Conroe Post Office after getting my three year old and one year old out of the car put in the stroller brought inside the self-service machine is out of order again no we are not going to wait in the long line just to be helped by people that work at the Conroe Post Office that are rude and don't care and have no customer service skills. That's why I use the self-service machine it has more of a personality than the people that work at this post office. Try calling them and you will only get frustration! The phone wrings with the usual 'CS will be with you shortly' . Rings a few times and then goes to the fax machine unless they expect the caller to converse with the fax . No wonder USPS is doing so bad . read more

I live in a complex in Conroe with a mail room at the front. No gate. I paid $30 shipping. The day it was supposed to arrive, I got a notificationthat the package was undeliverable. What that means is that no attempt was made to deliver it. I called USPS and asked for it to be delivered and was told it would be. The next day I was called from a USPS in Midland and told they could not deliver the package to Conroe. Okaaaaaay, yeah, I don't know why you would bother to tell me that. I finally drove to the location and the line was so long I just left. I never got my package and it was shipped back to Japan. My money was taken and the USPS employee being paid to deliver my package prevented me from getting it because he/she was too lazy to put an 8oz. box into my mailbox. Avoid these scammers if possible and use real companies like UPS or Fedex. They aren't perfect, but they also aren't tax funded dumpster fires. read more

Not even 1 star! Total crap! Lucky if you get your mail. The list is long. Most incompent running PO anywhere... that includes overseas! They make mistakes, lose packages, give you the run around, promise to fix it, then turn around & change mind, then wont own up to anything or refuse to fix their mistakes. They tried to deliver a package, left a notice to pick up at the post office. We go & they claim they can not find it. Go again, now they claim it was delivered & sign for. We have had the run around for 4.5 months. I have been implied I was lying, we have been pushed aside. Told by the delivery driver supervisor the delivery guy would be reimbursing, then told by the Post Master that the PM would personally go retrieve it, the told by the PM that we would have a refund. Now, suddenly a new Post Master, no refund and a claim they can now trace it to Chicago, but of course Dec it was mis delivered & signed for suddenly it reappears Jan 2nd in Chicago & now is off the face of the earth. Claiming it was being sent back to the original sender. The sender has never recieved the package back. They will not take the responsiblity for their mistake instead have implied we are to blame, lying etc... depending on what day we have gone in or who ever we talk to. We have been pushed aside, forgotten about & treated unfairly. The worse is this is not f.up that has been done. The delivery driver is noturious for delay delivery, losing mail & being down right rude. It took 2 months for a delivery. I have popped into my apartment office & handed packages that had been sitting up there & I never got a delivery/drop off notice in my mail box or on door. I have gotten a notice for a package on one day, yet the package had been sitting in the apartment office for 2 weeks. The delivery driver even tried to get me to sign for a package that was not mine ,then got mad when I refused, even when I told him it was not me & pointed it out. Apartment was wrong too. More than anything these 4.5months & the run around for the missing package is the worst. Expect any issues to be treated as if you are in the wrong. This place is a joke. They recently said they delivered a package. Its not in my mailbox and no one else has seen it. We get the wrong mail constantly. They've lost my new insurance cards when I started my new job in December. (Luckily they were delivered to someone we know and they returned them to us.) My mailman is on vacation, the one that's covering for him missed me the first day and put the mail by my back door the second day and this was after my wife told him where the mailbox is located. I have been in and out of this location for many years and service has never been remarkable. Last week I went to renew my passport and I was blown away! The passport agent was incredibly professional, kind, helpful...all the things. And while I was there I noticed a USPS employee acting as a facilitator for EVERYONE walking through the door. She greeted everyone warmly, asked if she could assist, and kept directing people to what/who they needed. The whole atmosphere was positive, friendly, and definitely CUSTOMER FIRST!! read more
