Every time I come to the post office I realize just how little I know about how to ship items…read more (certified mail, insurance, media mail, etc.) but the staff here are full of knowledge and very helpful. I love that this location stays open until 5, unlike other offices around town. There is a full size parking lot, so parking is never an issue. Unless you visit an hour before close, you will rarely be met with a line. Additionally, there is a user friendly self service kiosk located just outside the customer service area.

First day, he drove right on by and shoved my flag down. So today, I made sure flag is up again. He drove up, shoved my outgoing bills with postage stamps on them to the back and shoved 2 small evelopes in!!!!! Umm, excuse me! USPS you cannot deny you saw those envelopes I'm trying to mail out. What do you think the Red Flad is for???? I had them standing up right toward the front with the flag on. Again, my flag was lowered but he refused to pick up my outgoing letters!!! I cannot leave the house everyday and was hoping USPS could do their job today. My Bad, they cannot!!! This is not to mention all the failed package deliveries and "you have a gate that needs access code" messages. WRONG! No such thing, Just LIES. Also I have a PO Box for 40 years with them, for Gosh sakes they could at least pick up my mail at the home address!!! Worst post office in America!!

I opened two support cases with USPS for two anticipated deliveries where tracking had showed it…read morearrived at this post office before delivery, and ended up not making it to my home. This post office went above and beyond in getting my packages to me. Over the last few days, I've received two phone calls from this post office from a very sweet, considerate person named Tami. They brought the delivery team together, coordinated and confirmed where my deliveries would have ended up, and went as far as to knock on the door of the residence, leaving a note with contact info, and the folks living there called the post office saying they had it and would drop it off at the post office the same afternoon! Thankfully my neighbor connected with me about the other delivery that ended up at their mailbox. I've received both of my deliveries within four days. I write this review because while I would be valid in being frustrated, the fact that the folks here took accountability, came together, and made this right, makes this a 5 star USPS in my mind, and disengaged my ability to be frustrated. Our postal service is very likely overworked, underpaid, and also run by humans - as a human that's part of this community, I make mistakes all the time. I'm so grateful to the folks at this post office that serve such a critical function for all Ben Lomond residents. Thank you again for your help! When we…read morearrived early, we stood around waiting our turn and the two ladies there had to deal with a very crotchety woman and her caregiver. They endured the abuse with patience and compassion, and when it was our turn the clerk was so nice. I was very nervous about my paperwork and after she printed the photos she offered to take care of the mailing for us. (I already had the forms printed.) She did everything! It was wonderful and I am so grateful. I wish I had gotten her name. Thank you, young lady with the green sweater!

On Monday the 27th I paid for documents to be sent express mail, overnight, from Washington DC to a…read morebusiness address in Scotts Valley. The documents were scheduled to arrive the evening of the 28th, but they did not. I was leaving the next day, and needed those documents for a trip out of the country. I delayed my departure, and went to Post Office in Scotts Valley, hoping perhaps the package was in their distribution area and I could just pick it up. I was told by staff there that they called the delivery driver, that he had the package, and that he would be delivering it between 10-10:15 AM to the Postal Annex where I have a mailbox. So, I delayed my departure in order to wait for these important documents. At 10:45 when he arrived, he said he did not have the documents, that they called him to ask his ETA but never asked if he had my package. And, he did not have it and knew nothing about it. Unable to wait longer, and since nobody could tell me where the package was at that point, we left town. At 3:34 PM, I received notification that the driver had attempted to deliver the package but the Postal Annex was closed. Nope, they don't close until 5:30PM. So, I called the Postal Annex to find out if they may have closed early. Nope. The owner of Postal Annex confirmed they were, indeed, open. That they were waiting for my package and knew they'd have to hustle to send it overnight to my layover location in Oregon. (Excellent customer service by THEM!) The owner called the post office and told them their delivery person had lied because they were there, they were open, and they were waiting for my package. Magically, the driver returned at 4:03 PM to deliver my package. Interestingly, the tracking information no longer showed the "unable to deliver message" as if it had been deleted. I now have to pay $95 to have it over-nighted to Oregon. I have to use UPS, because that was the only option so late in the afternoon. Our USPS has a terrible reputation and I do my best to avoid them at all costs. This is why. Do better.

Packages and mail are frequently either lost, mishandled, or late. A very minimum amount of effort…read moreis made by the drivers. There are a couple of good people who attend the desk otherwise. The hours are terrible, they aren't open on the weekends and they close at 4 PM on weekdays. They are also closed randomly throughout the day for various reasons and there's no way to predict when. When I find out an Amazon package is coming through USPS versus FedEx or UPS I get a dreadful feeling because I know it will be a pain one way or another to just get my package.
