I ship orders regularly through an app called depop, this time when I came into this location an older lady with blonde grayish hair at the front accused me of stealing a bubble wrap envelope when I came in with it pre-packed. I tried to explain to her I had been waiting in line with it for over 20 minutes as the line was out the door, after bickering with me for 5 minutes I told her I don't appreciate being accused she said "It's not my fault you look like the type" as I walked out, needless to say a few people left with me that were in line and said they will never do business with this office again as I also won't myself. read more

6/24/25 - The old lady working at the front needs to be fired. I came to deliver one package, already in a bubble mailer envelope ready to go. I got there and had to wait like 10 minutes with a line out the door because she won't stop making small talk with people and once it was my turn to see how much it'd be to ship, she tried to charge me for the bubble mailer envelope and I explained that i brought it with me and that I've been holding it the whole time while waiting 10 mins. She gave me a nasty look like im lying and tried to steal an envelope?? The attitude is crazy coming from a lady in charge of watching the smallest lobby possible. If you have time to make small talk and hold up the line, you should have time to be watching the small room and seeing if people actually grab inventory to buy. Seems like I'm not the only one who has had terrible service at this post office. I never had an issue with the woman who used to work here, her lines moved quickly. However, the new woman is AWFUL. I ship a lot of items for my small business, everything is always pre-packaged and ready to go. She somehow always finds a way to hold me up or question if I did everything correctly. She seems to do this with everybody, and since she's worked here the line is always wrapped around the lobby and moves incredibly SLOW. Anytime I have a question or request she's incredibly rude. They need better hiring standards here. I hope HR reads these reviews. read more

Stopped by here the other day to send some mail and the lady working here was extremely unfriendly and rude. I tried making small talk with her and she chooses to ignore me. Also, I spoke pretty loud with my mask on knowing that it's harder to hear people with it on. I'm still pretty new with sending out packages since it was my first time but the lady gave me this bad feeling like she was judging me with her rude attitude. I personally love my USPS location back at home. The people there are friendly and patient. After getting my stuff done there, I left irritated because of the terrible service. I am never coming back to this location ever again. Not worth my time here. Save your time and go to the other location or maybe even outside of Davis. Asides from the terrible service, the parking sucks since it's in downtown. read more

The same rude lady in everyone's reviews from years ago unfortunately still works here and her attitude still has not changed. Although I am not sure if it's Asian people or students that she doesn't like, but, just to be safe and not deal with the hassle, just go to a different location because she is definitely not worth the headache. A little hole in the wall USPS location occupied by a listless clerk lady. A poor and empty shell of a person whose hollow eyes remind you of an Oblivion npc who only exists to occupy the counter. I don't know her name, or her id number, but she is what I picture Wednesday, from the Addams family, in her forties, minus the magical powers and energy of life. Despite the nose in the air, pursed lips and rolling eyes. Despite the condescending attitude, complete lack of empathy and curt sentences, we can't blame her, after all, the lady just wants to do her 12 to 4:30 and GTFO. Yep, 4 hours and 30 minutes of her life is already too demanding to put up with us "troublesome" customers. To all the USPS customers who have been mistreated, neglected, and left feeling like you swallowed a fly. Please, don't let this ruin your day. If circumstances dictate that you must deal with this sorry soul to achieve what you need. Get in and get out. There is so much negativity in the world but we don't have to take it. Block it out, let it go, and move on. Know that you are not in the wrong here and this unfortunate encounter you just had does not make any consequential impact to your life. To USPS, you are a government agency with 70 billion in annual revenues. You have no competition, you won't go bankrupt. Your employees have health insurance, life insurance, tax benefits, medicare, social security, and pension. Yet you have some of the worst customer experiences in the shipping business. It's a disgrace and a shameful display. But perhaps it's just a reflection of how little those in the higher hierarchy care about the customers who pay to keep USPS up and running. read more

The Davis campus used to have a post office branch but now this is the closest option. You're better off sending it any other way. The line is always long even after the lunch hour, and there's always only one employee at the counter. Sometimes there's another employee doing clean up, but that doesn't make the line go any faster. I'm not sure if students have turned to Amazon and no longer send/receive items via USPS, but I do hope that someday another campus branch opens up again. The long lines are proof that more open counters or locations are much needed. read more

This location does not have the proper shipping packaging for some items. The person at the counter was also not very helpful throughout the encounter. I ended up making a trip elsewhere to purchase a shopping container and upon returning she informed me that she cannot accept the package. She knew what I was sending out the whole time and it would have been nice of her to mention it so that I could have gone elsewhere from the beginning. read more

I have A PO Box at this station.(95617) (however I wont be renewing) I regularly get mail from other PO boxes and have to put them in the resorting box. Recently I had an important package sent to my PO box at this station. I had been waiting for this package for six weeks. (it was a custom hand made item) The tracking # said that it arrived at 9:17 AM, I check at 10 AM and it is not there. I come back after noon (they don't open till then) I ask about the package, I am told not to worry, it will get to my box. I return the next day at 12:50 (I check my PO Box, still nothing), this time I insist that they go check. No package is found. So I start calling. After being directed and then counter directed to the supposed person who handles these matters. On the third day I get a call back. No package! The PO worker, (Lily?) accuses me of picking up the package! Which I found very insulting! I tell her just that, "I DID NOT PICK UP THE PACKAGE!" I tried to redirect things to, What do we do now? How do we find this Package? The answer I get? "There's nothing to be done, It's too late, It's been delivered" The package was insured by the vendor, BUT they denied his claim. Why because it was" DELIVERED!?! " Excuse me!?! If the person whose name was on the box did not receive the package then it was NOT delivered, it was Mis-delivered! Just because someone received the package does not make it close enough! The vendor is going to eat the loss, but this still makes me so angry! The moral of the story? Incompetence plus arrogance is a very bad thing! If you have something that is important to you don't let it come to this annex, you have been warned... read more

This was my second time coming to this location. I should've known after the first time. The first time I went to this location I just wanted to ask about the approximate price it would be to send a small box that was lightweight internationally. She just told me "it depends on the size and weight" which I already knew and when I went to specify what I meant and approximate the size and weight it would be since she couldn't help me to start off, she just repeated, "I don't know it depends on the size and weight of the package." I went to a different store, the one on 5th street, and the lady there was amazing. She took the time to ask me what I would be sending so she could get an approximate weight and size and then proceeded to ask me if I wanted the fastest or cheapest. Even though I asked for the cheapest, she wrote down on the piece of paper the amount and restrictions for each option which really helped. She even recommended an option she thought was the best for me. This is what the store on 3rd should've been like. I went back today since it was closer to where I live and I'm upset at myself that I did because this is the worst service I've been to since the DMV. BEFORE any transaction happened I walked up to her and asked about the customs form. I asked if the price for each item where it said (ea) was the price for all 3 quantities of the one item together or for each item of the 3 quantities. She said I had filled it out correctly without giving it much look. When we were done, she put the customs stickers on the package and the total value was 3x less than it should've been because she in fact was not listening to my question. I mentioned it to her and she was extremely sassy and rude about her reply and said, "I just typed up what you wrote on your form." Yes, correct, but I had asked you BEFORE we even started any of this very specifically if it had been filled in correctly. She didn't offer to fix it. Her body language showed that she was done with this transaction and talking to me. She didn't even care more like a welp, next time do it correctly. She was so transactional. It wasn't even with me. I watched how she talked with the people before me as well. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!!!!! I would put 0 stars if I could. read more

I dread coming here because of an employee, who seems to be the only working here. Every time I come she is extremely passive aggressive, unhelpful, with an attitude. She acts annoyed that I'm even there. This postal office opens at the most random time of the day. 12 noon. But I guess since it's part of a college town and most students probably aren't up until 12 this is fine. However it's a hassle if you are trying to get your package to the post office before the pick up time of the day. This post office is conveniently located near the UCD campus so it's not too big of a deal to ship it. The service is not slow like standing in line at Disneyland. It's actually fairly fast given that it's a post office. Though I don't really talk to the people who work there, as they were helping me send my stuff they were very nice. read more

Hours are now 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday. I've heard complaints about this office, and I won't be mailing anything out of this location again. The last certified return receipt letter I tried to send three weeks ago has gone missing. Not surprising, since their postage tape machine was out of order that day and the employee ended up covering my letter in stamps to equal the cost of postage. I should have known not the trust that. Honestly, I don't think this location get much support and the people just don't seem to care. Use the main post office on 5th street -- it's far more reliable. read more

That was the worst post office experience I've ever had in my life!! I came here on a Monday or Tuesday right at 12 for my lunch break when they opened and there was already a long line. With about 15 people ahead of me I was hopeful to get out of this place and make it back to work on time. This was not the case. By 12:50 there were still 2 people in front of me. I looked inside and there was only ONE person working. This was such a waste of time and I would never recommend coming here during the lunch hour. read more

Two cards arrived sealed, yet the cash had been removed and the other two cards are still MIA after 7 days of transit from the Sacramento area. It's so sad to see our own government employees steal from the people who pay their paychecks. This post office is only open from 12 - 4:30 pm Mon-Fri. Super inconvenient times, and there's ALWAYS a line, especially during the lunch hour. There's only one worker, so it's very inefficient. You're better off going to a farther post office that works a bit faster. read more

You would think that because hours are so reduced (open 12 pm - 4:30 pm) that they would open on time. NOPE! They opened 30 minutes late...30 MINUTES LATE!!! And they didn't even give the crowd of customers outside a little notice or explanation during the 30 minutes we were waiting. If I could give them less than a star I would. This is a horrible place to send your to. Since I am moving a lot I thought it would be a great idea to get a P.O box. I choose this place thinking it was going to be a good place since it is centralized. However, I was wrong. They were renovating the place then they had fire damage. Well that is beside the point just pointing out the facts. I was awaiting an important letter with documents that were time sensitive. It has been a month and I have yet to receive the letter. I have received other packages from the same sender but no letter. Last time I checked my mail I noticed I had someone else's mail. Every time I ask the lady who works there some questions she gives the most misleading answers. I just saw previous reviews of lost mail here. I advise you don't get a P.O box here. Sad that this is a federal establishment with such poor service. For example, my second to last package they put in a wrong mailbox and the last one, they didn't even leave a note and I had to go find our what happened. Their phone doesn't work EVER (busy dial tone) and when I spoke with the drivers, the man was rude and hung up on me when I wasn't even being an "angry customer". Like the other reviewer, I feel for the one postal worker that has to do it all whoever I do go there. Cut backs to sUpposedly save money badly sacrifices quality for quantity indeed. That said, I don't understand how simple things such as mail in passport renewal forms can't be available , especially since an online link specifically list this post office as a place to get info about passports. Indeed the clerk said one had to go all the way to West Sac to get a form if not online. Not always easy to download for a specific form without a hassle sometimes. Anyway, the same link said that forms were available as well as other passport services at UC Davis Arts and Recreation Dept. Indeed it is and quite easy to get, just like it should be at any post office. There has been a lot of emphasis on the importance and timeliness of renewing passports, and it should be more convenient overall. All in all. I was a rural route carrier for awhile, so I'm aware of pressures they are under, but it doesn't hurt to emphasize service and customer service, no matter if your supervisor is sometimes not nice. That includes keeping everybody up to date so the customer can be properly informed. read more

For what this place is (a tiny operation that feels largely neglected by the rest of the USPS, seemingly at the extreme margins of the massive mail entity's attention), it actually is pretty good. Yes, you'll probably have to wait a while there, and yes, it may open later than the advertised opening time of noon, but each postal worker I've been served by (and there seems to be only one running the counter--maybe the whole place?--at any given time) each has been very helpful and friendly, especially considering the challenge of understaffment in this USPS forsaken/relegated outpost. I've waited much longer in Berkeley post offices, sometimes for much less friendly service. Just try to go there when you're not in a rush, preferably with good reading material or to-do list items that can be readily dealt with on your smartphone, like writing Yelp! reviews. read more

I walked to downtown Davis specifically just to send a package. Their hours are very limited so I went at 12:30 and they were open 12-4:30, or at least that's what their sign said. When I got there, the sign said closed although their doors were open. No one was there. I knocked and rang the bell and waited 20 minutes and no one showed up. There were others there waiting as well. I eventually got frustrated from waiting and walked over to FedEx to send my package and they were nice about it. They told me that the USPS opens whenever they feel like it and they don't follow their hours. I recommend not going here and just walking over to FedEx (a short distance away) to send your package. I literally just made a Yelp in order to rate this place because I was so pissed off. read more

I have alway had good service here until today and the level of unprofessionalism has ruined my ability to ever come back. I came in to pick up my vacation hold and put on a change of address. I was told there was no record of the vacation hold (by the same clerk who took the vacation hold in the first place) and that they "know I was moving" so that they rejected it. Um, what? How do you determine I'm moving and decide when I get mail or not. They also "have no idea" where the mail that accumulated is located now. O.O. The fact that I am moving NOW has no bearing on the fact that I was NOT moved out when I left a few weeks ago when I put on the hold. She proceeded to tell me that I "can't do that" because new people won;t be getting their mail. WELL just for argument's sake, in your USPS world where you decide who's moving and when, there is no one moving into my OLD apartment (and there certainly wasn't when I was on vacation for the last two weeks. Finally, she proceeded to yell at me because she assumed I was moving elsewhere in Davis (wrong) and was angry I didn't provide the name of the new complex. I know most people in Davis are students and most students expect some level of disrespect (unwarrented) but I am not a student and the treatment here is completely unacceptable. This clerk (red head) is unacceptably rude and is every time I come into the place. I usually wait for one of the other ladies who are much nicer and non-combativie. As the granddaughter of USPS workers I like to be patient and understanding with USPS workers because I know they are under a lot of stress, but this woman's treatment was completely beyond unprofessional. read more

If I could give zero stars for this office I would. Dropped a package off here and it sat at this post office for 14 days before actually being shipped. Thank god I was able to track it. It was accepted at the post office, never shipped, then tracking said accepted again 14 days later before finally shipping off. Somebody here is not doing their job..
