This wasn't even the closest one, the closest one looked like it was from 1950 and hadn't been cleaned since. Coming to Horrigan at 10am on a Saturday and was pleasantly surprised to be the only one in there for most of the 2 loads I washed . Its perfectly clean, efficient and brightly lit. $4.50 to wash and a quarter buys you 5-6 mins on the larger dryer. Save a little cash by loading as much as you can in the large washers and dryers. They actually do work quite well and efficiently. I am curious if those Tide pods or similar brands would work on these? I was stupid and forgot to bring my own detergent but of course they have that there in a vending machine... for $0.75 a wack. They also had bleach, and softeners. There is a vending machine inside with a limited about of soda, but Dunkin Donuts is only steps away next door. I will be back as this was probably the only laundry experience I've had in the last 10 years that didn't involve sweating profusely and carrying a truckload of clothes up or down a million flights of stairs. I will however bring my own detergent and probably a blanket! My only grip is I wish this was a little more comfortable to hang out - its super cold in there it seems..not terrible for summer but was rather bitter on a snowy morning. The bathroom was clean but it was also at one point a broom closet, so make sure you use the bathroom before you come to do your laundry! I heard that this cleaning company also does professional rug cleaning and they also do a wash/dry/fold service but it is NOT at this location. You have to call and set that up. From what I understand, the wash dry fold service is reasonably priced. But if someone is going to drop off my laundry, they can take like all of my money.

seems to be neglected... washers and dryers were dirty, clothes out of washer soaking wet! soap…read moredispenser in washer moldy!!! floors dirty!!! used to be well maintained!

Okay in ways it has some stuff like coffee, food, lottery, alcohol & even printing/shipping capacity & this is an asset if say (my case so) you have to make copies of your ID for tax purposes so you can mail out & they even got it plus they show you what they've done so you can tell them if okay or not but they will make sure it's right & properly done. My case was low cost & even if you have to pay a slight fee for a card nevertheless no complaints from me & they even sent a text with receipt in so you can mark on your statement. Now you know.

Only a ramp. Once inside the layout seemed odd too. But then I noticed signs with arrows regarding the many departments. ..that was helpful. The inside of this place has seen better days. We enjoy shopping at Salvation Army and other…read morethrift stores, but literally walked out of the Gardner store very disappointed and kinda pissed on 08-16-14. Used, beat up, dirty, boys sneakers: $9.99. Kids paperback book: $4.99. Kids t-shirt: $3.99. None of which were super high quality, major, name, high fashion brands. The shoes and t-shirt were Wal-Mart brand items. An elderly woman was looking for a blanket or quilt for her dog. There was a fake sheepskin, brown, worn out, stained blanket marked $39.99. The woman said that she had to look 3 times at the price because she thought her eyes were playing tricks on her. Something isn't right there... Not sure if it's the management or an employee marking the items at these prices, but it's wrong, crazy and unfortunate. We visited a Salvation Army store in Portsmouth, NH and filled a giant bag with shoes, clothing, a giant crockpot, and other various items for $35 bucks a few weeks ago and most of the items were brand new with the store tags still attached. Out of curiosity, we took a ride over to the big Fitchburg Salvation Army and wow!! What a price difference! How can the prices differ so much between the stores? Why is Gardner overpriced by so much?? Skip Gardner and go over to Fitchburg, Turners Falls, Greenfield or Hadley next time. Worth the drive!
