I'm actually from Chicago but found the store on a bike exchange website. I couldn't be happier I did! They were extremely attentive and went to a great length to help me decide on a new bike, without urging me to buy something from them directly. They knew so much and made the experience almost seamless! They also shipped the bike to me halfway across the country with tools for home assembly (for only $75). Last time I went to this bike shop was decent. The wiener was not there and the staff could care less. I wanted to purchase a gift card and was told they were out and was getting more next week. I came back the following week and received the same answer. Why would you do that to a customer? That is poor customer service to say the least. read more

Price gouging during the pandemic! I've really had enough of people taking advantage of the pandemic to make some extra money off of people who have been financially struggling for the past year. I called to inquire about a bike on their website, as they appeared to be the only dealer in New England who had my size. The problem is, they were asking $100 more than the manufacturer's website listed, and $150 more than another bike shop in CT. When I asked the man on the phone if he would be willing to match the price, he said no, and that they had paid a lot of freight to get the bike there. I wasn't aware it cost $150 more to get a bike to Greenwich than to Putnam. This kind of thing really shouldn't be tolerated. Don't support this store and be a part of the problem! read more

One Less Loyal Customer Greenwich is full of sales people like this, what they don't get is we don't have to shop there. I have been buying bikes from Rob or going to his shop since it was on the Post road. Thats at least 15 years, so I was a little surprised by the reception (or lack there of) I got when I went into the shop this afternoon. I needed some help with my trailer rack and dragged all 20 lbs. of it into the shop. Im in my 60's and the thing is heavy and cumbersome. I was acknowledged by one salesman who was with two other customers, but there was another salesman at the register who was what seemed like just shooting the breeze with one of the locals. This went on for 7 or 8 minutes. It got a little embarrassing. Here I am struggling with the giant piece of metal and it wasn't until I gave up and was packing the rack back into the car. The guy from the register came out after me and asked what was wrong. I said it didn't seem like anybody wanted to help me. He said they were busy and short handed. No kidding but up until that point no one was interested in giving me any help. Greenwich is full of sales people like this, what they don't get is we dont have to shop there. I was just trying to support local business. Long story short, another local shop was more than happy to help me with my trailer rack and sell me a $3000.00 e bike. read more

It was nice not to feel pressured into making a decision on the spot and was able to test ride the bikes I was interested on two separate occasions. I was in a pinch trying to find a charger for my Garmin - I had tried both Best Buy and Walmart with no luck and was starting to get really frustrated. I called Greenwich Bicycle and explained my situation, and even though they did not sell the charger individually, they graciously offered to take one out of a Garmin set for me. I've been here on two separate occasions and have had a poor experience each time. The staff, though hopefully knowledgeable seems to not want to be bothered and barely give you attention when you finally do get help. It seems that talking to other staff members are more important than finishing up a transaction. Sadly I received two gifts from here for my birthday, recently and was told by each gift giver, separately, that they didn't like the store for essentially the same reason. I made it a point not to buy my bike from here, despite it being the closest to my home. There are several other stores in Greenwich and Stamford which I've had great experiences with the staff and don't mind driving the extra 15-20 minutes. read more

I was on the Hunt for a 2021 Gravel Bike by Cannondale. I visited 7 bicycle shops in the Fairfield County looking for this bike. All of the shops told me they were not available until September and they were only interested in selling me bikes they had in stock that were not a gravel bike. I finally decided to go to Greenwich Bicycles after going to the Cannondale Website looking for dealers in the Tri-State Area. So I arrived on a Monday 3 weeks ago and there was a line out in the parking 15 people deep waiting for their turn due to the social distancing, so I jumped in line. They had numerous employees that were servicing the line, so it was my turn and a gentleman by the name of Robert who actually turned out to be the owner greeted me. He asked how can I help you? I followed up with "I am looking for a unique gravel bike from Cannondale and gave him the model. Robert said I think I can order it for you let me check with the warehouse. He came back and told me there were only 9 left in the warehouse, so I asked him to order one for me. Robert then told me that I was in luck that the bike would be here in 4 days. Friday came and I was contacted that the Bike was here and ready for pickup. I was so amazed that it was ready for pickup with their bicycle shop being under siege with all their other customers for repairs or new bike build outs. So I went to Greenwich Bicycles immediately. Robert & Peter (another team member) walked me through the in & outs of this gravel bike since I have not rode a bike in 30 years. After receiving the bike I have returned numerous times with many questions and requests for last minute adjustments to bicycle to fit me personally. Peter gets honorable mention for being a Bike Guru and mentor to me, I ran him ragged for the last 3 weeks with multiple questions for wisdom and he went the extra mile every time to make me smile. I am so glad that I purchased this bike from Robert, his team members are there for you no matter how small your request is. If you are new to biking like me and want white glove service then look no further then Greenwich Bicycle, they know all their customers by first name which is rare these days. read more

Bikes have been hard to find since the start of the pandemic and I had called several shops with no success until I reached Kyle at GB. I told him what I was interested in for my 14 year old son and he explained to me what he had available and recommended several different bikes. We went the next day and he could not have been any more helpful and patient! Kyle let my son test out the bikes and pointed out extra features. He and Val were so helpful and nice to deal with! I came into the store, which was a little busy since it was a Saturday. I was pretty much ignored by the staff until someone asked if he could help me. I was looking for a particular bike, He said they were sold out Then he said he might have one. I tried it and liked it, but he said it wasn't for sale. Then he said it was last year's model but he gave me a price quote for this year's model and indicated it would be the same price, no matter which year it was. . The salesman couldn't answer questions and kind of shrugged when we had more questions. I never expected this level of service in Greenwich, but I guess they figure since its Greenwich, bikes will sell themselves. read more

I have the same point of view of John S. The people are nice and their products are great at first glance; however, when spending 6,000 in their store I expect first class gear. But the chain is not correct and from a lesser crank set?!?!!? Like really, I would never buy anything from them again, there goes 10,000 of business that's what they get for a pulling that. DONT GO THERE To Rob: I am fully aware that bikes come with lesser grade parts for a lower price, I get that. What makes me upset is when your business markets lower end equipment as higher end. It just isn't right to scam, for a lack of a better word, customers. I was told this was a full ultegra drive chain by your associates, then you tell me months later it isn't ultegra and you take the liberty to charge me, mind you without my permission, for swapping what I that was ultegra for the real thing, like really? I have bought only one bike there so far, but I plan to buy another high end one based on the positive experiences I've had with the entire staff. I had a great experience at Greenwich Bicycles. Instead of making the quick sale and sending me on my way with the first (super cute!) bike I was drawn to, they showed me why it was not the right fit for me. They have an impressive selection, and I ended up being there for over 2 hours trying to make up my mind. Even though it was Sat morning and they were busy, the staff was super patient with me as they answered all my questions and literally pulled out no fewer than 20 bikes for me to try. I finally found my perfect match- and I could not be happier with it! I would definitely send friends and family here. read more

I have a friend that feel the same as most reviews below. But my experience I was quite the opposite to most reviews The first two times I went in this store was to fix my son really cheap Thomas bike, the asian guy (sorry I horrible w names) was really helpful both times. Third visit was me looking for a weekend bike, the bikes were just too expensive for me at the time... Fourth visit, TWO years later I was the one uncomfortable for bothering them so much and never buying anything, with my husband encouragement I went and finally bought two kids Trek bikes. Fifth visit was to fix my kid's bike, then I saw lots of nice bikes around $500, found the 7.2 fx but not the color I wanted, they are ordering for me... Horrible Horrible Horrible. Rob is a rip off. I have spent plenty of hours in this bike shop over many days, yes thats how long a simple bike fitting took. These guys know nothing about bikes and they are purely there to rip off the Greenwich community. Rob runs a horrible business where he was even screaming on the phone just the other day to a past customer that was purely not happy with his work. Go somewhere else because this guy will steal your money and do a horrible job and sell you something he knows nothing about. read more

Let the buyer beware!! I spent $700 on a Townie. When it broke the next week, they told me it was my fault and at first refused to deliver the bike to my house (1 mile away). I found Townies selling in Rye Brook for $400. it is a horrible store and they take advantage!! read more

So i bought a Trek Madone 5.2 in August of last year and was very happy with the service that Greenwich bikes provided, very professional but expensive (but ok for the level of service provided). And maybe im wrong here (tell me if i am) but if im not mistaken this bike should have a complete shimano ultegra drivetrain. But just last week when I brought the bike in for a free service, i got slaped with a $101 bill for a new chain. Number one, they were supposed to call if over $0.00 (as stated on the receipt), number two-they replaced the chain because it was not an ultegra chain (which the bike is supposed to have). I am happy to have the correct chain now, but dont sell me a $3000+ bike with the wrong componet, then make me pay for the correct one when i bring it in for a free service. If you advertise and sell an expensive bike that YOU build and sell to me, make sure its built as advertised. Great store for any kind of bike you need and any gear. Went here to get a wind jacket. Helped me pick out one for a good brand at a good price. Got home and found it had stains on it. Went back and showed them, told them I just wanted to exchange for another. They didnt have another exact one, and offered a partial refund off the one. If the stains wash out, I got a great deal. Nice, helpful staff, just the sort of place that keeps customers loyal and stands out in a world of online shopping. If you live anywhere near Greenwich, this is the place to go. read more

In the market for a bike for my wife and I, I went to 3 different bike shops in Westchester before coming to Greenwich Bicycles. Wow what a difference!!! The knowledge, customer service and care provided by Valentin, Steve, Roberto and Pete were exceptional!!! I first came here with 2 of my kids a few weeks back to check out a Cannondale that I liked and they actually showed me a few other bikes that I might like and let me test drive them. Called my wife and said I know where we are getting our bikes. Came back with 3 of my kids and they let me test drive the 2 bikes I was debating between and then gave my wife several options to test. This with 3 kids and all the above guys were so friendly and even put on cartoons for my kids, so my wife and I can properly choose our bikes. We ended up getting 2 Cannondale bikes and a few accessories including helmets, kick stands and water bottle cages. They even helped us with a child carrier and even installed it for us. Not sure about some of the poor reviews, will definitely recommend them to my family and friends. There was never any pressure or feeling of them pushing a bike on you like other stores. 5+ stars!!! read more

I brought my colnago c40 oval master in after an accident. At the time, they were a certified colnago dealership, as of this writing, they now are not. I had them go over the bike for damage to components or frame/ fork. I even knew the salesperson that helped me, as we had rode together in the past, at the time, he was all ears, friendly, and assuring I was in the right place. I was told the frame was fine, no damage or cracks, however, my bike required $775 worth of work with gear system. They did the work, I picked up the bike, and it was not even cleaned, a service and cleaning was to come with it. When I emailed the owner, Rob, he was short, sarcastic in his message, referring what I do for a living, and told me to bring it back. The round trip to his shop was 40 miles, he could care less. I settled with the ins comp of the driver and they paid for a restoration paint job, thus shipping the colnago to California 8 weeks ago. I just received a call saying they will not paint my bike, as it has 11/2 in. Cracks on both chain stays. When I contacted Greenwich Bicycles, Rob's response was, "that happened since July". There is no way that would occur in 4 months. His email was rude, condescending, arrogant, stating, " a few pissed off people try and make his shop look bad. That is why I am taking the time to write, it's a few more that just a few. Shop/Service elsewhere, the initial fake smiling, etc. Only goes so far. My colnago is now an ornament on the wall, the ins co. Would of bought me a new frame, that's up to $3,800 in value for that titanium frame. They cost me quite a bit of money and could care less. read more
