I went in with my income taxes all sealed up, return label, I needed to send them certified, return receipt. I've had so much trouble with the rudeness of this particular branch that I avoid going to the counter at all times. I only use the kiosk. There is a employee there named Paul who thinks he runs the place and is incredibly snotty, rude, condescending, and basically just a know at all. I've had encounters with him before. I made a complaint and talked to some gal at that Branch over the phone, and then I reached out to operations management which Jessica provided me with the email. After I told him my story he never ever ever responded. This is our postal service at work, you got to employee who most likely runs customers away, and an operations manager who doesn't return emails. This is why nobody wants to use USPS, they would rather use UPS and FedEx who are in my experience over the years the friendliest nicest people you could ever work with. This was my first visit to the Lake Oswego Post Office. While there was a fairly long line when I entered, I was impressed with how quickly the team at the post office managed the line quickly, with a smile and expertise. My turn came quick and I was created with a smile and a very helpful individual. The thing about US Post Offices is that if one location is bad go to another one. I work in Tualatin and Clackamas and the post office near my workplaces is very bad. So after looking through Yelp, I found this post office. It seems to very popular among native in the PDX area for some reason but the service is a lot better than other locations in the metro area. I don't know anyone here but everyone who seems to work here is very friendly. I had no issue dropping off my package to be shipped. Not 100% sure about the parking but it seems to be better than my local post office in California. Drawback: The only thing I don't like is that I have to drive very far away to get superior service at this location. I don't frequent Lake Oswego anymore and it's a bit of a long drive/bus ride depending on which mode of transportation I use. I wouldn't come here again only if I have to. read more

I live in Mercarto Grove, a brand new complex accessed by fob.Today, I came back, limping a bit as I only wore one brace And the super sweet Uber driver insisted dropping me as close to the door as possible. Stopped to get my mail, a postwoman in her 30's whom I'd never seen before was standing in the hallway sorting the mail. The mailboxes were all open and the time sensitive outgoing mail i dropped last night was still there. I reached for the mail in my mailbox. She sprinted over like a mad dog, blocking me and slammed my side of mail slot panel close, shouting " I was gonna close them! You've got have a key for that!" In shock, I responded, " I have my key". I opened my mail slot and retrieved my mail. Then when I came out the package room, a dog owner stopped at the mail area. Surprisingly, this racist postwoman greeted her first and there was no mail box panel slamming. I lived in dozens of cities in six states and this is the first time I have run into this kind of situation with a mail carrier. It took me a few hours for it to sink in. Why this biased woman didn't say Use your key! aInstead she yelled "You've got to have a key for that!" Apparently, she believed I don't live there and was trying to steal my own mail! I hope the postmaster is reading this. Our regular mailman is kind, gentle and helpful. His backup took the gift card i left in my mailbox intended for the regular last Christmas and I later ordered him a gift. No wonder in the last couple month I receIves other units' mail twice, including what it looked like a small business check which I dropped to the leasing office. I don't frequent the post office that much except during tax seasons. It's always the same transaction; postage to ship, certified mail and return receipt. I usually have it all filled out prior to going to the post office. In my experience with other post offices when I do this, I usually try to go a few days prior to tax due date but still end up in line, a slow line and with grumpy workers. This post office was a different experience for me. I went the Thursday before tax due date at 10:15am. No lines, no grumpy workers, I even got a smile from Chris, who assisted me in the transaction. I've never had as many problems with any post office as I have with this pne. Broken mailboxes, waterlogged mail, carriers that don't pick up outgoing mail and now for whatever reason, I have to go to the post office to get my mail. Apparently, the mailboxes are "broken." What next? How much more difficult will it get just to get my mail? And if you call to get anything done, all you get is an argument from whoever answers the phone. This place sucks. read more

This office is under new management, they have cleaned up the place, got landscaping done, and friendly staff. It's bad enough when you have to stand in line but when the staff is nice and funny/friendly it makes it all ok.. Don't get a PO Box here if you can help it. They'll close it without warning and return your mail as undeliverable, as if you'd died or something. They expect the customer to know their billing processes by osmosis. The kiosk in the lobby tells you one thing and they tell you another. They offer the bare minimum of service, and that goes for management as well. They didn't even offer to file a change of address for me. Additionally, the building is ugly and depressing, situated on a blind corner so you're defying death every time you pull into the tiny parking lot. This is an ok Post office. It's on the smaller side. The staff are courteous, nothing exceptional regarding service. I have noticed they have strong relationships with other customers and have fun banter back and forth. The drive through mailbox is pretty good. My doctor drops off prescriptions to mail to her clients from there. I live 15 minutes away. They mailed me my prescription 2 weeks ago from this post office and I still have not gotten the package. My doctor also told me this has happened to other people as well, including the doctor. Is someone tampering with the mail there? I would not mail anything from that post office if you want your package to arrive on time or arrive at all. Horrible! read more

Most people would agree that there's not much difference between post offices, but this one deserves a special mention. I have been going to the Lake Grove branch for about 8 years, and it is without a doubt the friendliest and most efficient one I have visited. If I have general business to take care of, I specifically go there rather than to one of the branches closer to home. Even when the wait is long--tax time, holiday season, etc.--I usually manage to leave there in a better mood. Awful! My boyfriend just died and I needed to ship a bunch of things out to his family and the man with dark hair was extremely rude and didn't want to help me. They had no large boxes and advised I tape two flattened boxes together to make a bigger one all on my own! Are you kidding me? They returned mail that belonged to me yet continue to place the former box owner's mail in my PO Box. They refuse to remove the former owner's name from my box. They are certainly friendly here, but that is not the issue. My latest experience was the icing on the cake. After I filled out three different forms with all the same information, it took 40 minutes for them to get the label ready. With only two people working you can imagine the line this created. I know international is hard - but USPS is beyond incompetent. No joke, after 40 minutes of looking at the paperwork they laughed and told me I had to fill it out a second time because I used a fountain pen (they didn't have extra pens so I was SOL). It was almost surreal. I went to FedEx and shipped the package for a little bit more in less then fifteen minutes, it was all digital. Look, working in a post office is difficult - the problem wasn't with the employees. USPS is an antiquated system in desperate need of updating. Why can't I get forms online and fill them out? Why isn't anything digital? I'm not sure why I would ever use USPS over UPS or FedEx... it just isn't reliable, at least not for business. read more

This post office has the sh¡ttiest hours. like 6 hours on weekdays during the middle of the day and 5 hours on weekends which is also during the middle of the day. I'm busy almost all day and by the time I get home the post office closes. Like wtf, spend some more money to pay the one employee that works there to work longer. Lake Oswego, OR post office thinks they have the right to pick and choose which customers they will deliver to. If I go out and buy a gift or a card and pay the postage to have it shipped to my daughter in Lake Oswego I expect it delivered in the first class manner that I paid for. The postal supervisor in this town is refusing to deliver because the physical address of the house is on an alley. He says he will have all mail returned to sender. Do I get reimbursed for the money I put out for the gift or card I purchased and paid postage on to have the US Postal Service deliver? I think it is time for new management in Lake Oswego, OR someone that will put the service back in the Postal Service! read more

Someone at the Lake Grove post office must have paid these people to write their reviews. I moved to Lake Oswego in 1992 and used to receive EXCELLENT service from this post office. Then around 2005 or so, things started changing. Service has been declining and the attitudes and demeanor of the clerks got so bad I actually witnessed customers having to be restrained from climbing over the counter to punch out abusive clerks on more than one occasion. I started experiencing delivery "mishaps" like my mortgage payment not being delivered, no explanation other than a form letter, and a credit card payment that was lost entirely. My mail was put into other people's mailboxes, and I received others mail in my box. I have worked for the past five years at a firm in Lake Oswego and we continually experience mis-delivered mail and completely lost mail. The latest example: I mailed an envelope on July 6th to someone who lives on 36th off Broadway in Portland. She did not receive the envelope until July 26th...an unbelievable 20 days to go less than 10 miles! An envelope I mailed July 17th to someone in Portland TO DATE STILL HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED! Last year, I mailed 800 invitations directly from the Lake Grove post office on May 24, 2013. I received approximately 40 invitations back as "undeliverable"....not too surprising for that many invitations.....however, what WAS surprising is that I didn't receive many of them back until AUGUST! This year I drove my 800 invitations to Tigard post office on Friday, May 23rd for a noon collection. To my amazement, I received an e-mail from someone who lives in SISTERS, OR telling me she had received her invitation at noon on Saturday, May 24th...only 24 hours later. And by the way, I only had about 15 'undeliverable" invitations and they all came back within a month of when they were posted. Why is it that Tigard post office can provide exemplary service, but Lake Grove post office can't? I have NEVER received such inept, abominable and truly inexcusable service from ANY post office like I have received from the worthless Lake Grove post office. The change in their service starting around 2005 I can only attribute to a change in management at that location. It usually starts at the top and filters downward, affecting the attitudes, behavior and performance of every employee. If I could give a rating of ZERO stars or NEGATIVE stars I would!!! read more
