came on a saturday and this was one of the only post offices with people working. seemed like all the other ones just had a machine that only accepted credit card and had a minimum charge. came in and there was only one other person in line so it went by quick. just needed a stamp to mail off a letter. in and out in just a few minutes. it was quick and got the job done. paid in cash and they even had pennies to give the change back. i was pleasantly surprised. read more

I know obviously it's a USPS and they're always understaffed so they're stressed. But this time I can't give grace, they don't have the self kiosks at this location. I needed to get my shipping labels printed out since it's prepaid, & Depop even said I can ask USPS to print out my labels for me, I see others do the same. When I get to the front, I ask the guy if he can print out the shipping labels for me, instead he goes on a list of what I have wrong and made me look at the board of how I should have my packages... I didn't seal up my packages yet because I didn't have my labels. He said he can't print my labels out, I have to do it at home. A Pattern of Incompetence - Avoid for Passport Applications This is my second review for this facility's passport services, and unfortunately, it's to confirm a pattern of profound incompetence. Both my brother and I recently applied for our first passports here as derived citizens, and both experiences were handled incorrectly. My appointment was a month ago. The agent was completely unfamiliar with the process, refused to inspect my original citizenship documents (a mandatory step), and I had to insist she even include all my evidence. Hoping it was a one-off, my brother had his appointment today. We dealt with a SUPERVISOR, who was somehow even less knowledgeable. He told my brother he had 'too much' evidence, tried to tell us to go to USCIS instead of applying for a passport, and initially refused to include our family photos. When I insisted he send the evidence, he then made the alarming and incorrect decision to KEEP the original, irreplaceable Certificates of Naturalization for my parents to mail in, instead of just inspecting them and returning them as is standard procedure. This is a major procedural error that puts our vital documents at risk. It is now clear this facility, up to the supervisory level, is not properly trained to handle anything beyond the most basic passport applications. They do not know the correct procedures for evidence verification or document handling. Avoid this location if your situation is anything but a simple renewal. You will likely have to know the process better than they do, and even then, they may handle your sensitive documents improperly. read more

This post office only accepts only 4 _people_ for their 1-hour window of walk-ins. Right at 2pm, the staff came out to give four lucky winners a golden ticket each and politely send everyone else home. I appreciate that they were upfront about their limits rather than let the rest of us wait almost 3 hours only to find out that they couldn't have gotten to us to begin with. read more

The post office on Abel st Milpitas is a place I rarely go to. Yesterday, I went to return a dress package and needed tape to seal it, but the staff told me they didn't provide it. The next day, I went to mail the package again. There was a QR code on the USPS website. The staff scanned it several times but failed. I reminded her to type it in, but it didn't work either. The QR code is right there on the post office website, so why can't they read it? The office is only open half a day on Saturdays and closed on Sundays. I had to go home and change the return mailing to UPS, which is open all day on Saturdays. I went in and the mailing was completed in just a minute. So USPS service is really terrible. read more

US Post Office is located in Milpitas ,CA as located off of Able street. I had priorly came here to this office location of US post office for my travel application for my United States Passport . Of court all my drop ins to this US postal office location had been priorly scheduled for appointments only. I had utilized my own traveling to appointments as self only using my own personal transporation not being accompanied of any other persons in vehicles checking into postal office me of surrounding areas. Application and photo capture for US ID card had been completed and self "paid" for only. My application for travel card of listed location of residence is of a non smoking non drug usage area of space inside and all signed purchased vehicles registered in my name per location of area of residence spaces. I Christina have not taken vacation or traveled out do the state of California nor of out of the county for over 37 years. As to any US post office customer service representatives in post office, on phone, via email inquires is primarily communicative in English only. No and non foreign languages used. I Christina am a mother of 3 children which I have never before or now given up any type of parental rights to any of my children. As to any California Drivers License of prior applied for and of any receiving of having past residence listed of locations before 2019. I Christina am not longer a residence of those locations as to whom ever is of being of current occupancy of location of home spaces that I Christina do not have any type of personal activity partisipation of. As I do not involve myself, or my partners of those locations of any culture or transitional based as they would practice. I Christina do not personally know who they are or associate myself to any of the prior listed residents home locations. As I Christina do not ask, I do not want, I am not insisting of any type personal involvement of those locations of home spaces being part take of my daily routines, self travels, personal workings, personal private workings, parenting involvements of myself, children and home places. I Christina am direct in my communications at all times only. I Christina do not have never before or now have a personal Assisant to myself, nor have I authorized of a delegate of a personnel of any type of ACT on my behalf in my name per location of listed residence spaces. Such a wonderful experience at my locat Post Office. The staff is quick and the lines are never that long, which is always a plus. Also, alot of parking so that is never an issue. My only negative would be the flat shipping prices as the specific box sizes have gotten smaller and the prices hVe increased but so has everything else in this economy. They really need to specify that they want proof of the lease on paper, one agent took my phone and saw the contract while the other asked for a printed lease!??!?? The old man also gave me attitude for simply asking why it was $75 when in any other place i have live at and asked for keys, charges me no more than $30. One last thing, wdym it can take up to 30 business days for that??? They first told me it'd be 2-3 days. Since the staff member who assisted me was busy, I approached another staff member for help. However, I was told there would be a $15 charge to retrieve the package. I came in with a prepaid package and a QR code for the clerk to scan so my label can be printed and then drop off my package to be mailed. The clerk then began to argue with me stating because I wrote fragile on my package that she must cover it with the label. She continued to argue with me until I made it clear that it's already prepaid and I've never had this experience at any other USPS location. I don't get it and I'll never come back to this site again, Really terrible customer service. This review is for their mail delivery people who I suspect steal packages. I have important medication and packages that are to be delivered and left in the parcel box, they will put the parcel key in my mail box, report it as "delivered", but the parcel box will be empty. It doesn't happen all the time, but if I ever have a shipment and I see USPS tracking, I dread it because it's a coin toss if my package is actually going to get delivered. Oh, and don't even think about filing a claim - you reach out to them and bring up this concern, and it's "oh, sorry about that, but you're SOL". I now insist all shippers use FedEx or USPS since packages left at my doorstep are more secure than trusting the thieves at this post office. They don't even try to "investigate it", or it's a pain trying to get reimbursed via insurance which is why USPS needs to be shut down b/c privatized shipping, like health insurance, is more reliable read more

I rarely need to go to the post office as I rarely do anything on paper these days. But when we do, this is where we go since it's the closest post office. Pre-COVID-19 days, this place does get busy but all their windows are typically open when this does happen. I think we all need to do our part to make sure that we go in very prepared so the lines go fast. Albeit it's hard to go in if you don't absolutely know what you want. The tellers aren't super chipper but they get the job done. I always see a very long line for passport services, so make sure to get up early to beat the lines. There is a small parking area but again it hasn't been a problem to find parking any time we've ever gone. Again overall, not too bad. I'm not big on sending paper mail, but again if needed, it's not a bad place. I would rather just always go to the nearest post office wherever I am. read more

I was the 5th person waiting. When the post office open, I didn't wait to long for my turn. The lady that helped me verified all the documents. We had an appointment for passport processing at 11:30. Is now 11:40 The reason they didn't open more lines is because they didn't have enough copies of the appointment list. Apparently sharing and photo copying aren't things here. Additionally, there was a family of 4. 3 kids and a mother. Kids had no masks and walked up directly to our kids. Made an appointment for 9:30am about a month in advance for my passport. I came in about 20 minutes earlier than my appointment time and then waited in the passport line. It was early, and I'm not sure if all of the workers were stressed or really upset being there, but it seemed like no one was really happy. The overall place is very dated, dirty and dingy. The windows tinted with the tints curling and clinging to life with various pieces of packing tape. The blinds look like they haven't been touched since the 90s. The floors were absolutely filthy despite having the 6ft social distancing markers. I was told to wait in the general line since I made an appointment time, but then when the woman tried to help me she said I should wait in the passport line instead. It was now 9:35, and I was finally called in for my passport. The woman helped me and although she didn't seem friendly she was very helpful in helping me get everything in order. The line behind me was growing so they prompted other staff to assist with managing the line. I was able to send everything and get my passport situation handled and was ready to leave at about 9:55am. By this time the line had extended almost to the door main entrance. Overall, if you are looking for a convenient spot in milpitas to get your post office needs handled this place will help you. If you're looking for nice, friendly staff and a post office that looks like it's been cleaned on a weekly cadence this isn't it. read more

Though, I don't like that I can't call the number listed and someone will pick up. The passport process was slow and painful. I came at 7:15AM this morning thinking I should be the first in line but I was dead wrong. The guy in front of me came prepared w/ a foldable chair and got there at 6AM, making him the first in line. The parking lot is small therefore gets hella congested. Staff worked at a slow pace. Apply for a passport: - complete the form but do not sign - bring a copy of your DL ($2 if they do it for you) - bring a passport photo - bring your birth certificate - bring w checkbook (cash, check, or money order) - they charge a processing fee ($45-$46 total) I had to expedite mine because I need to be in Singapore in a few weeks for a business trip. I already started bookmarking places but the most important issue is: they do not have a 24 Hour Fitness :( They did not give me a receipt for the passport fees. I wrote a check and for some fucking reason, she said she cannot issue me a receipt. I submitted my expenses today and I certainly hope it does not get rejected due to lack of proof. Update: Dept of State website says it will take 4-6 weeks for routine processing time, but I just received my new passport 18 days later Came in on a Friday (June 1, 2018) at 8:34AM for a passport renewal. There were only 3 other families before me and I ended up being number 6 out of 40. Majority of people didn't start lining up until maybe 8:45AM, at least for this particular day! Mail line opens at 9AM, but you still wait by the door and write your name on a list until the passport line opens at 9:15 They have 1 window solely dedicated to passports and from what I saw today, there are 2 other personnel that can open their windows for passports ONLY IF there is no one in line for mail. I brought my birth certificate with a photocopy as my "Evidence of U.S. Citizenship", but they wanted my old passport instead so good thing I brought it with me! Came out at 10AM. The actual process only took less than 10 minutes if you have everything ready. Not too bad! Annnd the 3 staff I interacted with were nice!! Based on the other reviews on here and google, I was planning to arrive at 8AM with a lawn chair and snacks! Not necessary!! Tips: -Don't use recycled paper even for photocopies of your ID -Extra copies of DS-82 and DS-11 passport applications are available near the entrance -$5 passport pictures at Costco photo center (took 20 min to process, so go take your pics, then pick them up when you're done shopping!) -Bring headphones so you can listen to music while waiting in line lol read more

I was able to contact the Post Office on 3rd Jan and the nice and friendly officer (maybe he is the manager?) who answered the call was able to resolve my problem quickly when the postman did not pick up my package. This is a review for the passport services. I must say the process was seamless. They have a line just for passports. The lady helping me was kind, competent, and knowledgeable about passports. She took my picture ($15), made sure my application was complete and expedited (extra $35) it off. I received my passport back in 1.5 weeks!
