10/17/24 Just my luck, walked in and no one was in line! Fabulous! A pleasant postal worker, Lydia, said her greetings with a warm smile and already the gloomy looking day started to per up a bit. I needed a few make up stamps for my post cards. Post cards now cost 0.56 & I have the 0.53 stamps. Of course they do not carry 0.03, only 0.02. Y'all know how small post cards are, right? The standard 4x6 is the limit, so if it's bigger than those dimensions, it requires a regular stamp (0.73). Most of you reading this probably will not know because who else sends regular snail mail anymore? Hahahaha! I do, I am old school & sentimental. Oh and yes, I write in cursive too I digress. It is a small post office but for some odd reason it boasts a fairly large parking lot for its size (both for the employees plus their postal trucks & for customers, separated by a chain link fences. These are truly essential workers--especially during the height of COVID, when so much of the world shut down, they kept going. Without the mail, many of us wouldn't have had access to critical deliveries, important documents, medications, or even simple connections to loved ones. The Postal Service is a backbone of our communities. These workers are out there every day--through rain, snow, sleet, heat--pushing through incredibly tough conditions. Some are walking miles in extreme weather, risking heat exhaustion, dehydration, and even collapsing on their routes just to get the job done. That kind of dedication deserves so much more recognition and respect. Their work is hard, and often thankless, but it is absolutely necessary. The day my brother and I went was (I have a pic of the postcard completed but unable due to address privacy putting it online) Feb.11 to report our Dad's passing and forward his mail. We waited like 10 mins in line. Then told to go to side door and ring the bell for a supervisor. So we did and he had no badge on him identifying himself. When asked his name, he "said Sergio." He asked if we were waiting for an Insurance Ck. which I found rude . We said "no." But that if they wanted to have the mail pile up that was fine with us too. We were doing our part in reporting it. Provided the proper death, father's Driver's License & next to kin paperwork with my Driver's License to identify myself.Then he said he'd be back. Very short in his communication to the pic and poor service. He came and gave us a forwarding address post card. We completed it and dropped in the mailbox per his request. Now got a call from the Apts where my Dad lived to go pick up the huge stack of mail. So, he wasted our time in putting in the request because it wasn't completed. I have been experiencing serious, even criminal problems with this Montclair post office. Since October, my mail and packages sporadically disappear. Mail and packages are thrown on the floor. If packages cannot be delivered to the customer, notice 3849 is supposed to be left in the customers mailbox to pick up the package at the station. I know, I was a mail carrier. I've filed 14 complaints with USPS, working my way up the ladder, but no one responds. Ive gone down to the station 4 times, filed 3 police reports about stolen mail possibly by the mail carrier, and about him threatening me twice. I wrote a letter to 9News and State Representative Diana Degette about: not receiving my mail for the last 3 months (retaliation for me rocking the boat) but no one tells me why, being berated, yelled at, blamed, and told I'm making eveything up (I've documented everything since October with pictures, videotapes, statements from other customers, and all letters and complaints I've sent. I would put a minus -1 star if I could. I was in the area and wanted to scan a package. They do not have a kiosk to do it myself. I stayed in line and asked the postal clerk if she could scan the package for me. She said " Your address is Pomona , take it to Pomona's post office ". I said. What ?? That's ridiculous ! I asked to speak with the manager or postmaster. I women came out , I explained I would use the machine as I always to in Chino, but you don't have a kiosk to do it myself. Why is it a problem to scan my packages? She said " We don't get credit for other cities mail " again I said - WHAT ?? It doesn't matter where I live ! Today I had a passport appointment at 11:30 , me and my husband had to take today office to prepare a passport for yur child . Also I had to pick my child earlier from daycare . Unfortunately we arrived at 11:15 we found the person in charge of the passports is sick today and no one is in charge even we waited to see a manager or even supervisor to explain. Unfortunately there was only one employee that seems he has no clue about anything and ofcourse we left so upset without even an apology. At least instead of sending email confirmation with the appointment date and time they had to send an email for cancellation. I'm so incredibly happy with the service provided! I somehow did not catch a typo that changed the zip code by one number sending it to Montclair. The postal employees at this branch went above and beyond to stop my package from going back to the distribution center. They took the time out of their hectic day to help me over a foolish mistake, I am so grateful. I know how impacted the postal service currently is due to Covid but that didn't stop them from helping me. This is one of the reasons why I always send my packages through USPS. TOM TOM TOM! I'm writing this review because Tom (The happy guy with long hair) was such an awesome worker! Helped us twice with passport renewal and all the questions we had about our passports. He's the reason why I'm giving this review in the first place. When I had originally made a mistake on the first renewal app(which I'm sure 99% of people do) this snooty ass Chinese lady with short hair smacked her lips and gave me MF ATTITUDE. Bish wait, do these papers come out your paychecks???!! So I legit told her, "Theres no need for those kinds of remarks, I made an honest mistake." She looked at me thinking she didn't do anything wrong. I didn't even go to her to renew my passport, I ended up going to Tom for the service. Mellicent was taking a customer next to me in the line to my right. She caught my eye because I was wishing that I stepped into her line originally. She was so warm and respectful to each customer that she handled. I think that the younger girl at the counter August 2nd 2021 at 9am could learn a lot from Mellicent. She really needs to be trained if she's going to be handling customers face to face. Personally I think it's weird how angry she was. She ended up arguing with me for no reason, and still magically found my package. When she found my package, she told me "I was lucky, because this post office shouldn't have my package." I guess I am lucky that I can read tracking information, that I also showed her as soon as I got to the counter? She still made me write out my tracking number after walking to the back at least 3 times, because I don't think she knows how to effectively communicate. She didn't even have me sign or verify my identity because she was so embarrassed over how she acted. She just yelled loudly, "HAVE A NICE DAY". Not only hurting customer relationships, but really upsetting herself, and wasting company time. Thank God that this is not normally my post office and my package was just mistakenly missorted to this location. I really hope that girl gets the help she needs. I'm sure this Yelp won't be acknowledged, but maybe this will also help any coworkers that have to endure being around her toxic behavior. read more

This is strictly off the phone call I received from the supervisor Kayla! My package was marked as "delivered in locker" but when I went to check my box their was no key to open the locker. So they either didn't put a key in my box, or put it in the wrong mailbox. I filed a claim the same day, and revived a phone call from the supervisor, Kayla. She was absolutely RUDE! She was talking to me like I've never received a package before, stating, "your package is in the locker use the key to open" her tone of voice was very condescending. As a manger you would of thought she would be more professional; obviously she didn't read my complaint or she would of seen that I didn't have a key!! She continued to tell me to wait outside for my postman to come so I can talk to him/her, when I told her I don't have time to wait in 110 degree heat! She became upset and told me, "we'll, I have many mailmen out there working in the same heat!". Yes Kayla, but they are also getting paid for it! When she called me back and I asked for her last name or badge number she laughed and said, "why would I give you that information?". She ended by saying, "the key is in your box your probably misplaced it!" Well, Kayla... guess what? Your mailman, Omar, came out of his way to double-check for me(THANK YOU OMAR) and it turns out the key was in the wrong mailbox! All your hostility and unprofessionalism for a simple mistake made by your mailman!!! I understand it's tough times but as a supervisor you should set an example of how To handle complaints professionally, and be fortunate that you are still Able to work! I'm just upset. I work an 8-5 job. I rushed down there after work one day got there at 5:05 pm I just need to drop off two packages that already had pre paid labels. They drop off section was closed. I had seen some one through the window and waved them down, pointing at my pre paid label. She gave me the dirtiest look, shaking her head and dismissing me. We are looking to get some passports renewed that require in-person service. We were trying to do this on Saturday as we are tied up during the week with work and school. A search on the USPS website was encouraging, as a handful of Post Offices in the area advertise weekend passport service. As most of the POs stated appointments required and are booked for weeks in advance, we decided to make a trip to the Montclair office as its entry in the website specifically stated walk-in service. We arrived early on Saturday morning to be in front of the line. An employee cleaning the parking lot stated that the passport office didn't open till 10 and we would be welcome to wait in the lobby starting at 9:00. Fine, we went to a nearby Burger King for breakfast and returned around 9:00. Another family arrived shortly after us, also because they had seen on the USPS website that the branch offered walk-in passport services on Saturday. NO DICE! As soon as the doors opened an employee barked out to all of us waiting that all passport services on Saturday are appointment only. When I said that their website stated otherwise, he just said something to the effect of, "It must be outdated then." No apology given, nor any response when I said they really need to update their online information. There was nothing posted anywhere inside or outside the building that stated "appointment only," either. A completely wasted trip to a place we hope to never visit again. And, we are still on the hook to get our passports renewed, which we will now have to do during the week, upsetting our schedule. As part of the application fee goes to the local office, we will be taking our business to a different branch. No need rewarding this operation. If their information had been accurate, we would have directed our energies to the West Covina post office, which does do Saturday walk-ins for passport services but were already booked-up for the day by the time we figured out the situation at Montclair. If I could give zero stars, I would. I will also be writing the postmaster to let him/her know what I think of this. Disgusting! read more

Inconsiderate and unprofessional. A terrible representation of the USPS. I had to take a whole day off of work to set a passport appointment at 11 am! Only to arrive and wait in line, to be told there's only one person who processes the applications and happens to be out for the day. I did not receive any kind of notification to cancel or reschedule. Appointments begin at 9 am. This means there was a two hour opportunity to reach out. I understand we are all going through staffing issues that are out of our control. But what we can control is to up-skill and Coronas train current team to ensure services are available. Clerk was unhelpful. She did not even try to assist in locating an office where i can take care of this today. My time is of no value to her. This means I will now have to take another day off from my office. Please do better in notifying clients of cancellations. read more

Regardless of the time I come here, there is always a line for some odd reason. I don't know for what reason, but they don't turn the air conditioner on. I understand it's winter, but it's California winter. It was hot, humid, and simply stuffy inside. Everyone looked miserable, including the workers. This place is garbage. They need to update their website and stop wasting customers' time. I came in 2 days ago with a passport application for my son. The lady, very rudely said we needed an appointment and they could only be set scheduled online. I set up an appointment and returned today, waiting in line with my appointment confirmation only to be told they weren't processing passport applications today. The lady also said I had received a call today (mind you, she didn't know who I was so not sure who she was referring to). I've had my phone on me all day, never received a call or voice message informing me of this and she proceeded to tell me there's nothing she can do. WASTE OF TIME! read more

Very small post office. On most days it has a smooth moving line of cars that are using the drive-up drop off for letters. This location is better than the one in Chino in that the boxes are in the front instead of the poorly lit back. I have not had a need to go inside for more than dropping of a rare package. When I did, I must have hit it at the right time because I did not have to wait more than ten minutes at any given instance. read more

This is my go to Post Office. The lines are never hellishly long, the workers are nice and friendly, the customers are friendly, the parking lot has good flow (although small, there's always plenty of parking), and they label how much the priority boxes will cost. Well today I was mailing off some baked goods to my sister and the smallest box I found was the medium sized priority ($10.70). I taped it all up and was all ready to go next in line. Then out of nowhere, another worker came out and called me over to his station. He asked what I was mailing and suggested and looked for a smaller box. He was so nice and helpful!! If he hadn't helped me, I would have spent 5 dollars more than I should have!! That's a lot of money considering I'm a broke college student! Thank you anonymous usps guy!
