Thy N.

I was there today (March 28th) at 6:30 P.M. I had to drive all the way from NW56th because my closet USPS already closed at 5 P.M. This is the rudest and helpless postal service I have ever seen. There was no Priority Medium Flat Rate box (11x8x6 inches) available for me to get one. I asked a man who works there to see if I can have one. First of all, he said let him see in the back, and then he bought out a few more medium boxes. However, it was not the size I already paid my postage for. I asked again one more time: "Do you see any medium size box, sir?". He was very rude to say: "If we have it, I would bring it out. I said we don't have it." I mean seriously? You're NOT working for free. WE PAY postage, and they use our money to pay your salary. I believe you got paid much more than an Asian like me! You should know what you need to do with your job. If you're not happy, just don't work as a customer service job.

There is literally nothing worse than going to the post office to me. The lines are always long,…read morethe hours are funky, and generally you can tell the staff is overworked and beat. The Center City post office in OKC is none of these things! They have fantastic hours, open until 7 pm weeknights, and for being downtown there's ample parking out front. And of course, the most important is that the staff is fantastic! Even when the line is long I have no problem because they are all so friendly towards everyone. Downtown locations often get a large variety of people, which is no different in OKC, and I've seen the staff go above and beyond on many occasions. Language barriers, government law confusion, you name it and this staff can handle it. Thank you for positively impacting my thoughts on visiting the post office!

US Post Office May 28, 2026…read more (2/5) As usual, the US Post Office looks like it's been frozen in time since the 1960s, and this location is no exception. The interior feels dated, the equipment looks dated, and the whole environment is a strange step back in time the moment you walk through the door. You'd genuinely think that the federal government, of all institutions, could afford to update its workers' workplace and give the people who keep the mail moving a modern, state-of-the-art facility to do their jobs in. Instead, post office after post office continues to feel like a museum exhibit of mid-century federal architecture and 1980s technology. The most absurd example I noticed here was the security cameras. They are absolutely massive -- the kind of giant, brick-shaped units you'd expect to see mounted in a convenience store decades ago, not in a federal facility in 2026. It's the sort of detail that, once you notice it, you can't unsee, and it tells you everything about how little the building itself has been brought up to date. The other consistent gripe across every post office I visit is the lack of self-service options. There are never enough self-checkout or self-service kiosks for the volume of customers coming through the door, which guarantees long lines and frustrated patrons no matter how hard the people behind the counter are working. The clerks do the best they can with what they've been given, and I have no complaint about the workers themselves -- they're stuck operating in conditions and with tools that don't match the demands of the job. This isn't really a critique of any one location or any one employee. It's a critique of a system that, decade after decade, can't seem to invest in the modernization its own workforce deserves and that the public clearly needs. If the federal government wants the Postal Service to be taken seriously as a modern, competitive institution, the buildings, the equipment, and the customer-facing tech all need a real upgrade. Until that happens, expect a slightly time-warped, slow-moving visit every time you walk in.

United States Post Office - "Easier than ever," huh? Nope. Once again, the kiosk is not working.

Just awful. This is…read morethe nearest 24 hour kiosk post office to me, but it's not even worth coming here anymore. The kiosk has always been temperamental, but at least it worked, most of the time. They recently upgraded to a new system and it's worse than the old one. The first time I got in line for it, people behind and in front of me were complaining about how slow it was. Not only is it more time-consuming than the old system, but it seems to be broken even more often. I came by tonight to mail a package and despite an "easier than ever" sign near the kiosk, I came to find out that the kiosk cannot print postage for packages OR letters at this time. What a waste. Don't bother coming here.

It can be a little tricky finding the location and there is only a one way entrance so if you miss it, you miss it so keep your eyes peeled. I came in before 9 am on a Friday and it was not busy at all. I was helped immediately and the employee was very nice and friendly. I overheard another employee helping another guest and he also seemed warm and inviting. It was quite speedy which made the experience less of a chore! The location is a little dated but I think that's what gives it charm. Not a bad experience at all, in and out within minutes!

When I called to complain I was told maybe I should use another company to ship with if I don't like it. Recently (weeks before christmas) they didn't properly scan my items so they weren't checked into the system at all and then they lost them and refused to honor my insurance claim despite the fact that I had proof they were shipped and despite written promises that they would take care of this. This affects my income. I've lived in other areas and never had issues like this. This post office is adversely affecting my small business as a single mom and there appears to be no recourse.

Thanks to the new federal mask mandate, I'm happy to report everyone was properly masked. I had been in here a few times before during the pandemic and people were not masked, which was really stressful for me, and probably very stressful for the people who work here. They didn't have some of the stamps I wanted, which was a little disappointing. They also were not friendly. I'm not really expecting a new best friend, and I know it is hard to be a public-facing employee during a pandemic, so I don't really care. I wish this place were a little bit nicer. The parking lot is always a little scary, and the post office itself is small, poorly lit and depressing. Why do our public buildings have to be so depressing? I feel bad for the people who have to spend 40 hours a week in a dingy building with bad lighting. It's like the opening scene of Joe vs. the Volcano, which may be part of why they're not the friendliest.
