Nobody answers the phone. Rings and rings. Then you get the busy signal called several times. Same thing

The following is a detailed account: I purchased several items from an online seller in the area. When I attempted to give the seller my packing and shipping information, they said they used a separate company to handle packing and shipping, and that company would reach out to me in a few days to make arrangements. A few days later I was contacted by someone from Plattsburgh Mail & Shipping Center. She said "Your package is ready to ship, and your total is XYZ" I said, wait a second, everything is all in one package? I need these items shipped separately to separate locations. Not to mention these are very heavy, very fragile items, putting them all in one box would be over 60lbs. She said "Why didnt you say you had specific packing requests?" I said, this is the first I've spoken to you, I have no idea why the items were already packed before even talking to me. She said, "well if you want to pay for the packaging that's already been done, and pay us to unpack and repack them, we can do that." I said, why should I pay for packing I did not ask for? She raised her voice and yelled "MY MANAGER WILL CALL YOU GOODBYE" and hung up the phone. I waited a few days. No call from the manager. So I called back and asked to speak to the manager. The woman that answered said "I am the manager." I proceeded to explain my issue. It quickly became clear I was speaking to the same young lady as before when she raised her voice and said "I SPOKE TO THE MANAGER SHE SAID WE ARE NOT REPACKING THESE ITEMS" and hung up the phone again. I wait, and then call back. The same woman answers. I ask, can you at least tell me how they are packed, since you have placed 60lbs worth of fragile items in one box? She said "Sir, they have been professionally packaged with peanuts." I said, do you mean to tell me they're just thrown in a box with peanuts? That seems like a recipe for disaster. Can I pay you to repack them with bubble wrap? She said "SIR THEY ARE PROFESSIONALLY PACKED AND I DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS I AM SENDING YOUR ITEMS BACK TO (the seller)" and again hung up the phone. I immediately called the seller and left a message, stating I was having trouble with their packing and shipping service, and would be happy to arrange (and pay) for packing and shipping via FedEx Office. The seller called me back some time later and said, "I just spoke to the young woman over there and everything is fine, your items are packed and ready to go, and the owner will be giving you a call." Moments later, I received a phone call from a different 518 number. It was a woman, claiming to be the owner, Chantel. She said "I've been getting so many phone calls about these items, what is the issue?" I said that my items were supposed to be packed separately, and if that wasnt possible, I just wanted to make sure they made it to me safely. She said "It's our busy season and we really dont have time to unpack and repack them separately." I said, you can wait until after the busy season, and at this point, I dont care what it costs, I just dont think that peanuts alone are sufficient. Chantel said, "We will repack your items with bubble wrap, and split them into two boxes. We will contact you when they are ready." I was careful to clarify which parts were fragile and those were what I was most concerned about being sufficiently padded. I also asked for her eMail address and sent a written version of my packing and shipping instructions. Several days later, I get a text from the same number Chantel called me from, saying they are ready for payment and to call the store. I respond to the text and ask if Chantel can personally call me to take my credit card information, as I do not want to give it to the young lady who keeps losing her temper and hanging up on me. Chantel, or whoever is texting, replies "Sir, that statement is inappropriate and all of our staff is trustworthy. We will be sending your items back to (the seller.)" So again I wait, to either hear from the seller or Chantel. A week later, I get a phone call from the official Plattsburgh Mail & Shipping Center asking for my credit card number. It does not appear to be either of the women I spoke to before. I give them my credit card number. FYI the packing charge ended up being roughly double what I was originally quoted, which in theory would have been fine. The items arrived today. They were thrown in a box of peanuts with a couple pieces of bubble wrap (one wrapped around two of the items, the other at the bottom of the box.) The two items were taped together without any padding or packing material protecting them from each other. The third item was loose in the box. Some smaller parts did arrive in a separate box and were better packed, unfortunately these were not the fragile parts.

Hostile Management - Disrespectful to Disabled Veterans and the elderly…read more I have lived in Burlington for more than 20 years and have shopped at this store for that long, but I will never step foot in this Staples again. I was treated with utter contempt by the Assistant Manager, Philip Bosley. After a simple shipping error, he began yelling at me and calling me names like "loser" and an "a-hole" trying to convince me it was my fault for the error when I returned a small box of $300 ink to the store Monday night where they put the Staples shipping label on a box and by Wednesday the same box was sent to my house not to Staples. As a disabled veteran, I don't expect special treatment, but I do expect basic human decency. Instead, I was publicly humiliated when the manager used the store's intercom to announce an "incident" while I was sitting quietly waiting for the police he called. He even gave the police the wrong car's license plate (my neighbor's). If you are a veteran or a senior, be careful at this location. Philip's 23 years at this company have clearly left him with zero customer service skills and a lack of respect for those who served. I'll be taking my business to the Williston store or elsewhere from now on. I even called the next morning and asked to speak to the store manager when Philip said he would call the police again for calling the store and was still yelling at me. I would assume the store manager would be just as rude and diss respectful due to the fact that he never called me about the incident. I also called the so called Staples Office of the President in Kentucky and they said they would do an "investigation" including looking at the stores camera and reviewing the police report because the police report would state what the THREE officers saw when they showed up. I think it takes a month to get a police report so I know for a fact they did neither. And knowing that Staples is a privately owned company based in Massachusetts I found it odd that the so called Staples Office of the "President" was in Kentucky. Also their customer service is based in the Philippines call them at their main phone number 1-800-333-3330 and find out yourselves you do not have to take my word for it. Also I am letting the store know that I am not just "venting" online, but that I am taking formal action. First by posting to the Better Business Bureau, which I told them why is Staples not registered with them like most legitimate businesses are AND I am contacting the Human Rights Commission. In my 20 years living in Burlington, Vermont I notice a blatant diss respect to the military and veterans so I think they need a lesson in respect.

Samsung does provide an unboxing video of return items, and I noticed that the box had re-taped with a different type of tape than which I had secured it with. On my own investigation, I found the Fed Ex Ground station footage video showing that the package had been opened prior to arriving there. The prior location being this Fed Ex location. The manager Jared Norris did NOT follow up on my email requests for more information. It took months of runaround with Customer Service (outsourced, poor English comprehension) and a BBB report to both Fed Ex and Samsung for me to be refunded (minus a restocking fee, despite the item not being restocked since it never arrived for return!). My saving grace, was that I recorded the weight of the package when I dropped it off at this Fed Ex. In my BBB report, I asked to obtain the weight of the package upon arrival at Samsung. I was able to prove that the box contained the phone at dropoff, and the failure of delivery of the phone to Samsung was not because I did not place it in the box, but once it was the responsibility of this location prior to arrival at the Fed Ex Ground station. Remember, once that package is closed/taped, the only way to prove the item is actually inside is to either video yourself taping the actual package in front of the staff and/or obtaining the weight of the package. Do not rely on Fed Ex to take responsibility for the security of the items they ship, they do not have any professionalism or sense of accountability.

What I did find minorly confusing and wasn't much of an inconvenience, was the fact that the donation dropoff center area which the main entrance was located outside the building (I didn't know this upon entering), was closed. I heard that you can ask for a donation slip to report to taxes, which isn't like a super major big deal to me, but that's something nice if you are looking to get some of it written off. I ended up just handing the bags to the attendant and that was that.

You would not believe how high priced these items are. If you are low income, you can't shop here. High priced junk.
