Serg Ranehawa, the head supervisor of all the Rancho Cucamonga post office branches, gave terrible customer service to me in person at the Arrow location. Part of his responsibility as a supervisor is to help resolve customer service issues. Good supervisors do not do half-ass jobs. You deal with the person standing in front of your face and take actions. He had the audacity to tell me that I have to wait until next week Tuesday (today is Friday) to make a simple customer service phone call that only he can do because of privacy rights. He still made excuses about not making the phone call on the spot even after being informed that I would take this unresolved matter up to the Consumer Affairs. Poor excuses and laziness. Very disappointing. If you have any unresolved issues, do not listen to the in house USPS employees and file a claim through the USPS website. This Post Office is the laziest bunch of people ever. They don't answer their phone during business hours, they say they dropped off a package but it's nowhere to be found and when I file a claim it magically shows up a week later, they put packages in my box clearly marked for other numbers, after you stand in line to get a receipt for dropping off a package they say you have to do that at the self service box they absolutely don't do that at the counter anymore. Well you can, you're just a lazy POS! Same person who told the nice lady they were all outta tape when the other two workers were helping people tape up boxes. Don't rely on this post office to get your passport. Even though the website says they are open during certain times to get a passport, apparently usps just randomly pulls the assigned staff member out of the passport area to do other work. I really appreciate all postal workers I know it's a very difficult job. I think a 2 star rating is a bit below the belt but there definitely could be some improvements. I nearly once a week now recieve someone else's mail and I am very proactive about getting it to the correct neighbor but I know many ppl will not go through such trouble and also cannot be trusted as well with someone's personal mail so it makes me a bit concerned that my mail could be floating around out there and someone just doesnt care enough to get it to me. There really should be a great deal more care taken about putting the right mail in the right boxes. Thank you for all your efforts all the men and women of the postal service. Had a really good experience today at the Rancho Central Post Office's passport office! (Caveat: Although the passport office is open from 9:30 till 3:00, if you don't stake out a seat an hour or two in advance, you may not only end up waiting all day, you may not even get served. The list for the entire day fills up when the office first opens. This is standard at all passport offices that are first-come, first-served. If you don't like it, find a place that works on appointments - many post office passport offices accept appointments, though you may not get one for weeks, especially now, when passports are expiring that were issued in 2006-07, when the Dept. of State started requiring them for all international travel.) Stacey is one of the best government employees I think I've ever dealt with. She came out when the office first opened, explained things very clearly to the waiting crowd, and ushered us (first in line) in right away. She was extremely efficient, answered all questions clearly, and even went the extra mile to package and mail my wife's passport, which was eligible for mail-only renewal, something they don't normally do. She was even performing some training for a new employee! (Great to hear they hired another person, too - this office is VERY busy.) One nice thing the USPS does now is accept debit card transactions for passport fees - this eliminates the tedious practice of writing two checks, one to USDOS and the other to the local post office. Stacey is an all-around great employee, one who keeps an attitude of helpfulness and enthusiasm while performing a generally thankless government job. I would highly recommend this passport office to anyone looking for a place in the Rancho area to process an in-person passport application on short notice. Just show up early (before 8:30 - that's when the peeps really started coming in) if you want to make sure you'll get in that day! read more

I just left the post office giving myself 1hour in case there's a long line . Don't know what he deal was but two crazy ladies yelling about waiting too long .... Great customer service! Bonnie was EXTREMELY helpful. We intended to send a large flat rate box to our daughter (around $18). Bonnie suggested that we try the Regional Priority Mail box because it was cheaper (cost: about $7). She helped us fit all the items in the box and taped it up securely. I called them for about an hour straight during normal business hours and got hung up on several times; the other times they just let it ring until the call got cancelled. The first time I had an issue with this place, they lost my package and I had to come into their office and argue with them until their manager finally stepped in and found my package 2 days later. I've been here a few times - whether it was during their slow days or Christmas peak season. Both times, I've had a pretty good experience. A particular employee that helps me a lot is this Hawaiian looking dude. I always send packages/mail back home and he helps a lot! I highly recommend going in the afternoon because the morning and 4:00-5:00pm is high volume traffic. I also recommend using the machines on the side/front of the line because they help save time if you're just mailing simple things (flat rate boxes, regular mail, etc.,). It's simple to use and there's always someone on the side nearby to ensure everything runs smoothly. The instructions on the screen are pretty easy to follow too. The only issue with that is you have to spend at least $1 on it. I mailed a simple envelope (70 cents total) and I had to buy an extra stamp in order for my transaction to proceed. But it's with the dollar to avoid the horrible LONG lines. Like I said, avoid the morning and late afternoon rush and use the machines! read more

This is the absolute worst post office. The lines are always extremely long and chaotic. If you try to call you will have to make multiple attempts for someone to even answer the phone and then will have to wait at least 20 minutes to speak with someone, and THEN whoever finally speaks with you, will ask to take your information so they can call you back, and no one ever calls you back. This is not a one instance thing, this has become my standard interaction with this post office. DO NOT use the USPS if you can help it, and if you have to, do not go through this particular location. THE WORST. Also, do expect assistance from any of the employees. read more

I HAVE TO go to a post office four times a year - to send care packages for my Mom's Birthday and Christmas, and receive care packages she sends - My Mom lives in Japan. Sending packages to a foreign country can be complicated, as depending on the size of the package and method of shipping, required paperwork changes. I've lived in Chino and Fullerton and it was a nightmare. But, not at Rancho office. They are friendly, helpful, professional, and knowledgeable. I'm not sure if because of the great service, but they almost always have a long line. Not to worry though, the line moves fairly quickly. Also, there is a gentleman (who is always there) checking the people in line, to help them with forms or questions. He also pulls people picking up the packages from the line and arrange to get the packages bring out for you. Love you Rancho Post Office!!! One downside to it is they no longer open on Saturdays, so I have to take off from work early to get there. No way I'd even try the post office near my work, no way. read more

I hate writing negative reviews. I only do it when I'm absolutely pushed to the brink of frustrating or I've had an unbelievably awful experience. This review is for both. If I could give negatives stars, I would. I am FURIOUS right now. I trusted the United States Post Office to deliver my Father's Day gifts (my first big mistake) and paid nearly $20 a package to have it shipped it two days. I sent them out last Thursday, June 18th. The boxes were not only NOT delivered in time but they both arrived at least a week later. I went on to the completely USELESS USPS site to track down the packages and there was no information. I then called the post office I went to and spoke to a woman who was NOT helpful at all. When she saw that the state address was MA, she said, "So it went to Maine?" Um, excuse uh - don't you work AT THE POST OFFICE? Aren't you supposed to know state codes?? She then placed me on hold for so long that I hung up, immediately got in my car, and drove the 20 mins out of my way to speak to someone there. I gave them the tracking numbers and information, and then I waited. And waited. I waited so long that some of the other cashiers said, "Is someone helping you??" When she finally came back out of the office, she had ZERO information for me. And she actually had the nerve to say to me, "Well, we can't help what happens when it leaves here." She then told me to go home and fill out a claim for each. Then, I tried contacting USPS "Help" online and I was asked to give them my tracking numbers. There was no way to direct message them, so they wanted me to post the numbers publicly on a response where everyone could see my parents home address. Uh, I have over 60,000+ on my Twitter account and I really don't want them knowing where my parents live. So I went ahead and filled out the claim. And now that the packages have been delivered, I wanted to edit my claim and guess what? The website does not have that basic functionality. Additionally, you can't cancel a claim and you also can't post a second or follow-up claim using the tracking number. So now, both of those claims will come back as "delivered" (who knows how long it will be until someone processes the claim) and I have no additional way to discuss this with ANYONE, other than Twitter, where they just redirect you to the website. Absolutely HORRIFIC customer service. Each box had homemade gifts for my Dad and my father-in-law. I bought high-end gourment ingrediates and handmade their gifts for them, which took me HOURS. Then, I marked EVERY SIDE of the boxes as FRAGILE. My father in law go his yesterday (one week later). My parents got the package TODAY (8 days later) and it ws COMPLETELY DESTROYED. My mom sent me the pics of what arrived at their house(attached on here)...it honestly looks as thought they just decided to run it over with the truck. They delivered it in a plastic bag - because they KNEW they had broken it. They delivered it with a note that said "no duct tape and no return address." I admittedly forgot to leave the return address, but I had the tracking number and the credit card information I used along with the receipt. Those pieces of information should have been able to track down these packages. PLUS, the online site has my home address and my email address. (And PS? Where is that rule posted - the no duct tape rule? I do not recall seeing that posted anywhere at the self service kiosk, nor do I remember reading it anywhere.) So now, I'm FURIOUS. All the time and energy I spent not only shopping for and making the gifts but the incredibly frustrating and ridiculous amount of time I've had to track this down and get any resolution. My next stop? Have been coming her for about 10 years. I think there's a change in management. The line is shorter but the customer service is gone with new management. Stood in line for 10mins to have my package scanned and get a receipt only to be told to stand in another line for another 5-10mins at a kiosk to get my receipt there because the personnel didn't want to take 1/2 min to scan the package and print a receipt for me. Sure self service is the thing now since good customer service is hard to find but I would've appreciate it if he could have just scan and print since I've been waiting for 10mins already and tell me to do it at the kiosk next time since there's a line at the kiosk also. This post office has seriously given me the best postal experience I have ever had and I've lived in OC my entire life. They are so friendly and fast here that I could get Ned Flanders to do his mailing at this location. Lots of fully stocked supplies if you're a procrastinator like me and pack some of your packages AT the post office. Lines cut down very fast and the workers always keep a smile without being rude or pushy. Informative and knowledgeable, the lady that helped me answered several questions I had even though there was a line and she smiled the whole time. I can't remember the name of the woman that runs the Passport area of the office but she is THE BESS~ she's fast, knows her stuff, knows everything there is about USPS, and super friendly! It is not uncommon for the Rancho Cucamonga Post Office to deliver mail to the wrong address. Today there were two deliveries. The first delivery had one letter correctly delivered. Twenty minutes later, there was a second mail truck delivering mail. This second delivery had someone else's mail and someone else presumablyhad my mail. I called out to the mail carrier a few houses down. He heard me, understood me, and would not return to get the wrongfully delivered mail. Shortly thereafter, he delivered to the opposite side of the street, and wouldn't stop over while I was still outside to pick up the mail delivered to the wrong address. The USPS really should give IQ tests to those delivering mail, plus make sure they're honest & not dyslexic. read more

Going in person isn't too bad if you can stand the wait. A couple people have attitudes if you have a question. ...and since I do a lot of shipping I often know as much or more than some do. Our BIG issue is when we request a pickup online for packages...one of the two people that service our area will NOT take the packages...and often sends the email claiming they did! This post office is the worst. I know every time I am supposed to get a package on a Saturday it comes late the next Monday. What burns me up is that they had the package sitting in the building since early yesterday morning. Now help me to understand how you can deliver a package late when you had it early the day before? Furthermore when I went to the post office to ask why it was not being delivered the guy flippantly told me well you will just get it Monday. Seriously?!
