They are *not* open on Saturday despite what Yelp says or what's posted on the door. They're actually closed. I honestly recommend just driving out to the Branham post office. They're very consistent, open on Saturdays, & have the self-service center. read more

Great place to get packages out to my son, I'm in and out in no time. The guy who is normally here is really nice, quick and efficient about ready to retire. He speaks clearly and not at me, but with me so that's always good. I need my stuff at least to arrive to my son's destination. In these interesting times packages are consistently late. This is literally my favorite USPS to go to, in the South Bay. Alfonso is usually the one working at the counter; he always greets each person with a smiling face and amazing customer service. He always answers all of my questions, no matter how many times I've already asked before and forgotten the answer. He also is the only employee that works here, that I've encountered, that knows how to put all of my transactions onto (1) receipt; anyone else that I've ended up encountering, at the times Alfonso isn't here, I end up walking away with a few receipts. Don't forget this USPS is closed for lunch Monday - Friday from 12:00 PM (Noon) to 2 PM. They're not opened on Saturdays (COVID-19). Social Distancing is enforced. I was downtown at my daughters apartment and I had to mail a package quickly so I saw this place close by; so I thought "what the heck "... Wow there was only one worker and the line was not only long but people were doing really LONG transactions! And annoyingly there were 2 guys that were chit chatting up a storm Arrghhh. I went to this USPS because it's close to SJSU & City Hall. It's on 3rd & Paseo de San Antonio, across from Tengu Sushi. One counter open & 2 people in front of me. It moved pretty fast. I picked up: Pixar Forever Send A Hello Stamps 1 sheet (20 stamps) for $8.80 Go Green Forever stamps 1 sheet (16 stamps) $7.04 American Scientists Forever stamps 1 sheet (20 stamps) for $8.80 My total $24.64. Charged it. I wanted more Pixar stamps, but they didn't have anymore. Must check the other USPS soon. read more

There is only one person working there. It can be slow sometimes depending on the time you come. I have come sometimes, and it is empty. However, I have come other times when there is a line. I mean you get the job done which is to mail your stuff. I haven't have any bad experience here. Plus, it is close to SJSU which works perfer for me. read more

I came here around 12:20pm on a Friday and this place had a couple of people waiting in line. It was a very small place with one person working. Parking was street parking around. The supplies were very limited so don't expect too much here while waiting in line. The line was very long after a few minutes later and it was mostly college students from what I could tell. The person who helped me was a little rude when I asked about picking up a package, but he was like that to the three other people he interacted with before me. They don't have packages at this location so just make your way to the post office on the corner of St. John and 1st Street next to St. James Park. This USPS is super small and it can get very busy inside! There's usually a long line and a long wait -- only one or two workers at the front...most of the time it's one person working and it just takes forever! But this place is conveniently located across from SJSU, so I stop by here whenever I need to return my rented textbooks, packages, or if I need any stamps. Also, this is a great place to come get your money order if you need to pay rent or whatever, but there is a dollar fee! There is a lobby with mailboxes too, so come here if you need to rent a mailbox. Overall, place is okay, I just come here when I need to. There's no parking lot, only side street parking, but I always walk here from campus. read more

I feel bad for the manager to be the only person mandating this office. It sucks with budget cuts, but this is ridiculous. Needing to close the office to get change. This should have been done the night before closing since it closes at 4pm. Banks close at 5pm so the manager has enough time to get change then. The previous manager here would get change after he closed the office. This place is supposed to be opened at 9am. It's 11am and there are 4 people waiting and that's not including me. I asked how long the people been waiting and one girl said 10 minutes. It's now been 25 minutes the manager has been gone and still not back. I had to go back to work. The old filipino lady with the glasses is beyond rude. Every single time I go here she is always making rude remarks, constantly yelling at people in the lobby from her desk; it's just unnecessary. If you you even complain slightly about their inadequate service she will attack you with all kinds of low ball remarks & try to make you feel bad for even bringing it up. She needs to be retrained in customer service because she is totally unprofessional; not to mention sad & pathetic. read more

This is possibly the nicest post office in San Jose. I go here often because work is down the street and it's convenient when I am mailing things to clients. Like any post office, if you come here close to 4pm, it'll be really packed so I try to come during lunch time when there are less people. The cashiers here are very friendly and get the job done fast. I really dislike the lady who comes in line to almost interrogate everyone about why they are there. I understand that she's there to speed up the process, but she can be less rude about it. Recently, she said hello to me and I returned her greeting. It took her 5 seconds to stare at me (as if I was supposed to say something else) before she said, "Is that (my package) ready to go?" Did I ask for your help?? No. Other people in line also seemed annoyed. I think it'd be more effective if she just made an announcement for people to come to her if they needed help sending something. read more

This place is so sloOoooOoooOooow. It took me two attempts to send off my package yesterday. THE HOURS ON YELP ARE NOT ACCURATE. They close for an hour between 1:00 and 2:00. So if you're in line at 12:40 and by the time you come up to the window and it's 1:00, guess what? They're closed. Come back at 2. Okay, I guess that's fine. I come back a second time and waited in line for about an hour, which is NOT fine. The people who lined up behind me probably waited even longer. Please check your receipt to ensure that your package is going to the correct place... These employees also need to double check for the address to ensure that it's sent to the right zip code as well. I am not from this area, but my friend did send me a package with priority, 2 day shipping mail to Boston. I expected a 2 day delivery and it ended up a week and a 1/2. I didn't pay $12 shipping and an additional $18 fee to have this package intercepted and rerouted to the correct address. At first, I thought my friend had wrote down my address incorrectly. Came here on a Monday, 7 peope in line, It took the lady at the counter 26min to go through 4 of them, her name is Deborah. She seems like she doesn't really know how to use computer or maybe she just moves very slow. She tries to look professional and whenever someone has a question she will go extra miles to help them (mostly by talking very slowly), I know that might makes her feel like she are helping people out, but sometimes she really need to just do things fast and get the line going, and most of those questions doesn't even need to take that long to answer. Though before occasionally this place could get really busy, now since she started working, EVERY TIME i pass by there's a huge line. I advise you to go to the one on first street, at least they have more windows open. I probably will not come here anymore unless they re-open the second register or fire her. read more

This place is so unorganized. When I finally got to the front counter I told the woman how unorganized the place was, and she goes "HOW SO?" Well lets see..there are no pens at the desk. Her reason, people steal them. So there is one up at her front desk. There are no stickers at the desk to put labels on the packages. Her reason, kids use it as grafitti and stick them on building. But today's experience took the cake for something completely different: the post office had no stamps to sell me! How is this even possible?! I used to come here off my walk to and from campus from the light rail station on Paseo de San Antonio and really loved the perfect location it. If I was on my way to school or leaving, then I could easily send packages or throw some envelopes in the drop box. The location is very cool and city like, but also very small. But that doesn't mean poor service, all the people I encountered working here are very cordial and quick. It was never too busy, but I could see how it might get jammed up because there are only 2 or 3 windows open at a time. Otherwise, a great downtown post office! read more

This is an okay USPS. Not great but not terrible. There is usually one person working, and on average I would say it takes 3-5 minutes per person in line. The staff who work here do a fine job--they aren't mean or rude, but they aren't overly friendly or helpful. There is usually a good supply of postal boxes and envelopes, as well as packing supplies. They will tape your box up for you with official USPS tape if it isn't sealed. I think it would be great if they got a stamp machine here. If you need regular stamps and there is a long line here, I would recommend going to Safeway and purchasing a book of stamps there--it will usually take you less time. One good thing is that the mail drop box outside gets collected at 5 pm during the week, so you can mail your letters here last-minute if you need them to go out the same day. read more

This post office needs to double check their packages carefully, this is already my 2nd time my package status has been sitting there for more that 3days, I usually ship packages under 1pound, it's small but not that small, why do they keep missing it, my customers and I always have to worry about what's going on, please don't miss the small packages, I shipped it out on a Tuesday and today is Saturday.. Tracking status has not moved a bit, in fact it hasn't even soon the package has been scanned, I dropped it out on the counter personally. I give it two stars for the place to be convenient to SJSU student. I've found this place to be quite busy all the time. I go early in the morning to drop off packages or mail things to avoid the crowd. I think they're understaffed. I go here very often and I've only noticed two different workers. The lady and the man with glasses. It closes for lunch which is wierd. (Obvious sign that they need to hire more workers). Lines are long because they are so slow too. The workers there can be rude one day and then friendly another day. One day I came in to drop off a package for the first time and I asked how it worked. He explained and pointed where what went.
