This is a small post office. It doesn't have a self serve kiosk. All post offices should have one.

This used to be the best post office around. Fast, friendly service. It has gone down hill in the last 3 years. The workers don't care about their jobs. They are slow and rude. The box on the back lot is never emptied at the times marked. It is often over flowing. They need to hire all new workers. read more

Glad it will be closed soon. For some reasons, the good staffs were gone forever. One woman staff was particularly bad on customer services. She loves to argue with her customers. I even saw a push of the line from the customers who don't want to be served by her!!. ... One lady told me that she'll go to the Arcadia office instead SM because of that woman. Sad. I just hope the office get closed so we don't have to see her anymore. read more

I really like having this post office around here...there are no other post offices within five miles...I know that the workers try their best and they are under a lot of stress...people should realize this and understand that. I think they try their best to be friendly and help me. I would not know what to do without them. read more

I was there 10 days ago to post a international parcel ,I ask the Asian man over the counter to weight the parcel first while I already have the declaration form in my other hand , he look at the weight and turn to retrieve another form , I then said I already have the form , he said that is not the right form to used ... what ? .. I was little puzzle,because I already have all the information from another post office ,I ask him " What is my parcel weight then ? is it 4 lbs ? , he said No, Just over 1/2 of oz .. when I decided to walkout with my parcel , he had the audacity said " you don't want to send it ? " I said to him .. " I know the requirement weight ,and do you expect me to pay extra $20 + for 1/2 oz overweight of 4 lbs ! ! ?... My point is , he didn't even have the courtesy to inform me that this parcel is just 1/2 oz overweight and proceed to send it in another category fees.. this " robot " need to be train as a customer service representative in service , otherwise he may be good at cleaning the restroom full time ! read more

Honestly not quite sure why everyone hates Sharon. I've dealt with her twice and found her to be helpful. I mail a lot of things at many different post office for work. During the day this one tends to have the shortest lines of the Pasadena area. I have to mail things to clients with prepaid envelopes all the time and this office is the least annoyed by weighing and paying for two envelopes. read more

My favorite Post Office. The people there are nice and patient. I think they are very busy all day, but they mastered the art of zen. I usually drop off with prepaid stamps and they just let people pile it all the way up without making a big deal about it. They try their best to accommodate last minute customers. Regulars should bring them a little Christmas gift, they deserve it. read more

The Post Office is the biggest sucker in the commercial real estate business. This post office is a good example. The traffic patterns that swirl around this essential little facility is probably fine for the huge fleet of postal trucks that service the San Marino residential addresses, but its a hard trip for retail counter customers. The parking is fine, but if you go there in the afternoon, expect delays attempting to make turns onto San Gabriel northbound from Huntington Drive. Huntington Drive is a commuter freeway in the afternoon, and the parking on Huntington, and any turn on to the street is met a thundering, continuous herd. Making a left on San Gabriel from Huntington after pulling out of this post office's parking lot is hairy in the extreme. read more

Strangely. After I came back to San Marino, **THAT lady*** was still there! She has not been fired like most Yelpers hoped, suggested, or even prayed for. Why? Because she was waiting for her big daddy's life long retirement awarded to her HEARD(LY) years serving us all.... laughing, laughing, and laughing. I know a number of people filed complaints about her. But her supervisor is (and will be) on her side because he also wants to retire. No wonder USPS is loosing $... to their own rats that they raised. Sorry, USPS. As much as I want to support US economics, I'd rather give more $ to Fedex or UPS, not you. I always come to this post office to ship my stuff, I never had any problems with damage or opens package. There service is amazing however the only thing I dislike about this place is that there's always a long line while there's only 1-2 people working? That's the only down side about this place, but I still go here lol read more

A very good post office.... they are open on saturdays. Their employees are semi-competent, but tried to rip me off. One of my packages got stolen at my most recent attempt to pick up. It's too bad that in a year or two, this post office will not exist, due to budget cuts and workers unions; they had a chance to turn around things years ago but decided to let email destroy them while UPS and FedEx live on. Hopefully they will close down the even-worse ones everywhere else first. read more

Small post office, but they make up for it with exceptional customer service! The employees are usually very helpful and there is occasionally a wait, but it is not too bad. It's located right next to a bank. There is parking in front of the post office but I usually park on the street adjacent to it. There is also a parking lot behind the post office but I don't think theres an entrance in the back. read more

After reading all the reviews I thought, this lady is doing ok. She's getting through the line.. no smiles but whatever. I didn't want to hold up the line so I was rushing. Of course I forgot to put the return slip in the box so I stood back in line that took another 15 minutes. When I got up to the counter I politely asked if I can throw the return slip in the box. Thats when she let out a huge EEegghhh, biggest scoff ever. Hey lady, I think the whole line heard you. And by the way, I stood in the line again. Not you. Thanks for your help though, I understand what all the people are talking about at this location! read more

Rude, rude, rude! The workers are rude!!! Go somewhere else for better customer service. There's this blond lady who I swear is about to have a meltdown any moment now. I was humiliated by two workers and the customers laughed as they watched it all happen. I will NEVER go back and I will tell EVERYONE I know to AVOID this USPS. read more

Received horrible customer service at this location.to make a long story short I went in to this location mailing three identical Manila padded envelopes. Explained I didn't care how two of the envelopes were shipped but the one going to Arizona has to arrive by Wednesday 8/24 my Mothers birthday. I paid extra and left thinking all was okay. My receipt with all three tracking numbers had a PM 2day thus I felt all was good and my mothers gift would arrive in time for her birthday. Well that is not what happened and when I called to San Marino to see why her package had not arrived I spoke with a cold uncaring, unsympathetic Ray! He tried to explain that I had mailed it priority ( basically inferring it was my fault) I explained I requested I that I wanted it to arrive by Wednesday 8/24 and that is what I had told the clerk, I'm the customer I had no idea what way it need to be sent to ensure delivery in the date I needed it to get there, I trusted their customer service. He replied "nothing I can do" and proceeded to give me customer relations phone number. Ray offered no apologies and gave very poor customer service. My advise take your packages to any other location besides San Marino...... They just don't care about you as a customer!! PS I paid extra for my package to arrive Saturday 8/27 read more

I love this post office. Everyone is so nice and helpful. However, there is one person who deserves special mention---Rey. Rey goes out of his way to help every person. I have been in line and watched how gifted he is in relating to every customer----and there can be some difficult customers. Rey is someone who goes the extra mile for everyone. If I have things to mail that are odd shapes, Rey will always find the best box and the least expensive way of mailing it. He is always respectful, polite, kind, patient, and truly enjoys helping people. His wonderful way of relating to people makes everyone who is lucky enough to encounter him have a happier day! read more

I was at the San Marino Post Office on Thursday, May 31st, 2012. There was a window clerk named Sharen providing service to the patrons in line all by herself. She charged me an additional $1.89 on top of my total. She stated that it was a left over balance from a previous customer. She mentioned that she forgot to clear the computer screen prior to my arrival. The point of my story is, check your receipt before you walk away from the counter. She is probably overworked and glanced over the computer screen. read more

Honestly, trips to the post office are few and far between, but this particular office was worth rating. The ladies at the front desk are pleasant and welcomed us with a smile and a few laughs. They got us in and out of the office quickly, which is all we needed. Avoid the long lines and "postal" attitudes at the Pasadena locations. read more

Stars at this level are for today and may be too good! I have found this p.o. really a roll of the dice and I have used it for many years. Today Gwen more or less took the top of my head off and I heard her being equally snippy to other customers. We got in the door near closing on Saturday; there is some merit to her viewpoint. It does not justify plain old rudeness. Dear lady, if we could get in the door sooner, we probably would have done so. There was a distinct flavor of "I can push you around, so I will." In contrast, I have had people here give just plain excellent service. Rey, for one. What makes the difference? I know they are probably grossly understaffed. I did hear a person say "come at nine, no line." I'm sure that's true but I can't always get there at nine. There you are. read more

If I could give a zero, I would. The service here is terrible, workers behind the counter are rude, asking too many unnecessary questions, and giving out wrong information, average wait is at lease 20mins. My wife was sending an ebay prepaid oversize package..they asked where did she print or got the lable from, telling her the package weighted 16lbs and need more postage. My wife was fed up with the negative service and went to the San Gabriel office off Del Mar, they weighted the package to be 8lbs, great customer service and got out within 5mins. read more

Ray is always nice. Sharon is friendly too. Sometimes it's busy and only one cashier. If you don't want to wait, avoid the late afternoon. If you go there a lot, they learn your name and are very helpful. They always take the time to help me select the best mailing option. I miss Helen and Rick, who were transferred to other offices because they didn't have enough seniority. read more

I went to the San Marino post office today to purchase a box for upcoming mailing. It was 30 min before closing time. No one in line. We politely asked the postal clerk Sharen to see if they have a bigger box for purchase. She said no and dismissed us as we did not exist. We asked her for the second time and inquired if she could check. San Marino Post Office counter clerk Sharen's disparaging response to us: "Like I said before no. What part of English you didn't understand?," said Sharen. We were dumbfounded by the aforementioned remark. I have to say that I'm shocked by the attitude. Is it because we're asian? I encouraged everyone who experienced this type of treatment at San Marino Post Office on Huntington Drive, please voice your complaint from similar experience. Intolerance like this should not be further encouraged. read more

I've been to this USPS many times since it is around the block from my house. Their hours of operation are very inconsistent and do not open on time. I ocne came half an hour after their hours of operation listed on their door and they were still not open. I don't understand how a door can be locked at 10am if you wanted to grab things from your PO Box. The manager does not seem to care as well and brushes it off like it didn't happen. This is why people print and ship from home! read more

They lost a package I was shipping to my daughter at college. The tracking shows the package scanned in at this facility then nothing more... poof it's gone. I phoned 8 different times asking to speak with the supervisor etc. I was never put through but my number was taken and I was assured I'd receive a phone call back from him. They're "investigating." Of course I've never received a response from them. read more

This US Post Office is always very efficient! My experience with it for at least 16 years has been as I expected: Speedy, kind and helpful personnel. I hope this office stays open much longer than announced. read more

Charged $3.3 for a 0.5oz overweight. I understand that this is the USPS rule. But people there are really nice and helpful.

Avoid Sharon at all costs. It's not not worth ruining your day because of her. Other workers are fine. She's always angry and upset at something. Makes sure that some of that negativity is shared by customers as well. read more

I love this post office. It is the only post office that will happily scan in and give you a receipt for pre-paid boxes if you are willing to wait. I have been selling occasionally on eBay and whenever I drop off the boxes without having it scanned they always arrive at the right location...knock on wood. They haven't lost any of my packages so it makes me happy! read more

This is a nice office and the staff is so helpful when you have question. They are willing to explain the pricing and processing time, which is the best way for your package. Specially the staff Helen, she always smiles to welcome you to the office. Love her smile and kind. read more

People working there are nice, but I dropped off 2 packages with tracking numbers (eBay sales) on a Friday around 1:00 p.m. Not very busy there at all. One package didn't get scanned until Monday, and now it's Tuesday and the the other package still isn't in the system. Can't find out if they misplaced it because they don't answer the phone. I will take packages to San Gabriel post office from now on -- they get scanned within a few hours. read more

This is an excellent post office! They serve every client as fast as they can and gave me advice on which is the cheapest and fastest method to ship my packages. They have a huge parking lot as well so parking is very quick and easy. read more

Line was long but didn't take much time to get through. Had to send something at the last minute, and the clerk helped me get it into a smaller, cheaper Priority package that self sealed. They don't have tape, so bring your own or buy some for about $3 there. Friendly and efficient. read more

I am horrified by how I was treated at this post office today. For once a month for the past 8 years, I have used a company check to purchase 100 stamps. This has NEVER been an issue until today. I was asked for some type of identification to prove that I worked for this company. I was then asked who had helped me in the past so that someone could perhaps recognize me. I was then criticized for not knowing the names of anyone that had ever helped me through the years. The ironic thing is that the individual treating me like a criminal had actually helped me several times in the past. I am very disappointed as I have literally grown up going to this post office and have always appreciated the "homey" feeling when the staff recognizes you and asks how your day has been. Knowing a name wasn't necessary to being friendly and kind. I am very disappointed to see this post office turn into an ice cold and critical place. :( read more
