Despite the negative reviews below I've been going to this post office for 10+ years and have never had any issues. The employees do seem a bit overworked and understaffed but they have always been kind and friendly. They take their time to help me find the shipping option that best fits my needs and answer my questions. Sure, the post office doesn't match the service of some of the private companies but what can you expect from a government agency. If you are a customer, please make sure you have all your forms together BEFORE you reach the front of the line so you don't waste everyone's time. It is a small post office and can get crowded with long lines during peak hours. Parking is quite easy, but be careful of people speeding through the parking lot to drop off their mail when you are backing out! read more

Ever since all the old timers have retired, it is not the same....They have the young newcomers up front. There is one who is very rude her name is Emily. I was watching her how she is rude to a customer who was foreign, the poor thing was trying to understand why her letter was so much money. I got an email from the USPS telling me my package was delivered by hand to the resident, but we were at work and noone was home during the delivery time. I called the post office at about 4:15 pm, half expecting them to be too busy to answer the phone. I figured my package was lost for good. They answered the phone immediately, spoke with the postal carrier, and went back to where the package was delivered and retrieved it. Within 15 minutes of me calling them, they were at my door with it. Everyone makes mistakes occasionally, but I have never experienced this kind of customer service from any company anywhere. Very disappointed by how this one employee was talking to their coworker before I was being helped and during. Didn't catch the rude woman's name but she was blonde with colorful stud piercing going all the way up her ear. The women who was initially helping me was very sweet and friendly. She seemed to be new because she wasn't 100% sure if my package was acceptable enough to be taken. She asked the blonde woman with piercings to just make sure and the blonde woman told me I didn't pay for my shipping label. I was caught off guard because in fact I did pay for the shipping label, how else would I have been able to print it out??? She wouldn't let me mail it unless I paid again at the post office, which I was not about to do since it was a pretty expensive international shipping label. Pretty frustrated at this point by her demeanor with me and her coworker, I took her advice to be wrong, went to the Los Gatos post office and they took it with no questions. One of the ABSOLUTE WORST services provided - none of the people here even know what they're doing; they are just plain rude and totally unhelpful. I am stunned with such lousy service at this place. I went there today and talked to the supervisor about missing express package that I mailed in october to China and I had called international number in regards to my package. The supervisor came out and took my papers and my notes on them and went to talk to her manager and came back and told me she couldn't help me. She took my papers and my origianl reciept and would not give it back. I was stunned and she kept telling me this is their own copy. I even asked her name Julie McGrew and her boss ( Mr. Singh) who never came out to talk to me. I insisted I wanted my papers back and she said no.... In front of lines of customers. Some other postal person asked the boss if they should call security because I was not leaving, I finally left and they kept my original reciept. I can not believe our own US postal service to play such games with people. I have to get the express fee of $157 back and have to go through 1800 number to see where my $300 package to China went. I'm a resident of Saratoga for 2 years. Over the time I've lived here, there have been dozens of time when my neighbors' mails are misplaced in my mailbox. I myself also have missed many important mails and packages- some were able to retrieve back to me eventually but some were simply lost forever. This post office is no bueno. They got rid of their self service kiosk and you cannot drop off packages after hours. You basically can't do anything after hours, unless you want to drop off a letter (assuming you've got stamps) or pick up from your PO Box. This is not very useful. Very disappointed. read more

I've never mailed a letter before and so I went into the office to buy stamps and ask questions. I asked how to know what stamp to use and how much an envelope can weigh. The lady working at the front was happy to help me and explained that letters can be mailed with a ¢49 stamp if under one oz. She helped me out a lot and and answered all my questions. read more

Apparently it's best to Avoid all USPS offices when possible. Manager Rhonda is a racist! She is racist against Asians and Seniors. I mail 2 packages today 12/31/20 and all of a sudden Rhonda said we needed to step outside and make a line. Rhonda said to me, "Move your little feet" and then said to the person in front of me, "Doesn't she have little feet!" I was horrified that Rhonda was making fun of my feet! I guess Rhonda thinks that I was not moving fast enough and she thinks I had my feet bounded as they do in China! I live in Los Gatos and this is my neighborhood post office. I go there several times a week and I have observed Rhonda being rude to others. Rhonda degrades the customers and is very sarcastic with an ugly smirk on her face. There are a lot of complaints about this post office and Rhonda needs to be replaced immediately. Please replace this RACIST with a professional manager. Passport service is great and the clerk is very professional and nice, however a couple of front desk staff have great customer satisfaction problems. Their attitude and unprofessionalism unfortunately affect the whole office and their colleagues adversely with bad reviews from customers. I had to go back to line 3 times to ship a DVD, each time for a different issue, only once was for the right reason, and her last excuse was that the tape to seal the shipment was unavailable!!! Something needs to be done. If some staff dislike to deal with customers directly at all times, they might perform better in back office. read more

I have complained repeatedly about getting mail (mail about twice a month) in my mailbox that belongs to other Saratoga residents. Not just my neighbors next door but can be from anywhere in Saratoga. I guess I should at least be happy is not another zip code's mail. No difference, it just keeps happening. I have on several occasions have mail fro another person with the same street number but a different street !! Recently they left a notice for us to keep the area clean !! The SJWU were working there and it should have been obvious to the mail person !! We are not responsible for city workers work methods !! I love great customer service and this post office has it. I needed to mail an important letter before work one day and although they officially hadn't opened the window (and didn't have a stamping machine), the employee there getting things ready told me she would take care of things for me once she opened. I left her the amount due and the letter and all was taken care of. The letter arrived when it should have and I was a happy camper. read more

CONGRATS SARATOGA POST OFFICE!!! I wish all post offices were like this one. I called at 7:34 am and Stephanie answered the telephone. That's a first for any post office especially at that hour. I had a very important package delayed in San Antonio for 36 "HOURS" . The lady receiving it wanted it for Easter. Stephanie was kind enough to take my tracking number and my telephone number and told me she would call me back. I am on USPS tracking right now and it was scanned in Saratoga. YeeHaw!! I don't know about other service in this post office and my review is only for the passport service. The lady was very nice, we arrived 10 minutes early according to the instruction and waited at the designated area. The note was a little bit confusing about ringing the bell as I don't know if we should ring the bell if we were early so we decided to wait till the actual appointment time to ring the bell. At 5 minutes before appointment she opened the window and greeted us. She asked surprisingly why we did not ring the bell so I guess it should be OK to ring the bell before the actual appointment time. She was very professional about the application, asked for document one by one and checked them thoroughly. My wife forgot her driver's license and had to go back to get it and was on the way. The lady was efficient enough to start the process without my wife and when my wife arrived it was pretty much done. Then she finished the part which requires my wife's presence and submitted the application. The overall experience is excellent. read more

I am not surprised to see all the bad reviews of the Saratoga Post Office. Just had a very bad experience with Rhonda. Very, very bad attitude. She did not know any answers to my questions about the "email notification of mail to be delivered" that we signed up for. Can't believe they let her work there. She wouldn't give me her last name and screamed to the other clerks not to give it to me!! She should go to customer service school - obviously she had failed if she has ever gone which I doubt. I will try to find the name of the manager. This needs to be brought to his/her attention. I wonder if he/she reads the reviews. read more

Never in my life have I experienced such horrible and terrible service from a government institution that is there to serve the public. Here is my story. My mother, father, brother, and I went to make an appointment after waiting for over an hour, the lady yelled at us to call the number posted on the door and shut the door in our face. My father kindly told her that there was, in fact, no number behind the door and she would not reply to us and simply ignored us giving us an extremely rude attitude. My father then got the number from a different person and made an appointment at 1:45 p.m on a Thursday. So my mother, father, brother, and I arrived at the office at 1:15 p.m. My parents missed work and my brother and I missed school since appointments aren't made after 3:00 P.M. The very rude lady behind the counter named IDA told us to make another appointment since it was 1:45 and our appointment was at 1:30 she was WRONG and treated my family with such utter disrespect. She began to throw a fit by slamming papers around and throwing papers at my parents. My father remained calm and so did my mother. She finally decided to allow us to continue with our appointment. My mother felt sick and needed to get her medication out of the car as she was heading toward the door Ida began to scream at the top of her lungs calling for her supervisor saying "THIS LADY IS LEAVING THIS LADY IS LEAVING" her supervisor yelled at my mother and told her to "GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW MA'AM" and used aggressive and violent hand gestures, so my mom didn't say anything and walked back behind the counter. My dad asked her if she was feeling okay and the supervisor began saying "Are you swearing at me, sir?" My father said no and the lady gave him even more attitude. Ida and her supervisor need to learn to treat people with at least a bit of respect. They are rude and extremely immature, this needs to be reported to the state officials and people like them should not work in an environment that requires social contact. read more

This is an okay post office. I have no issues when I'm dropping off mail in the drive-thru-usually very quick! I went to post mail the other day inside with priority mail; the envelope I was looking for was out of sight, and the line took longer than expected. Once I got to the counter, my transaction went by quickly, but getting through the line was longer than expected. In addition, this post office is adjacent to a middle school, so don't attempt to post mail when kids are being dropped off/picked up-there's so much traffic! Honestly, if I'm not mailing things in drive-thru, I'll stick to my local post office. read more

Placed an order from Zulily. Zulily said order should be delivered on Aug 26. The Saratoga Post Office received the package on Aug 26 but decided they were the wrong post office! So they decided to ship it to the San Jose Post Office. Now San Jose has shipped it to the Bell Garden Post Office which is somewhere in the Los Angeles area. I have lived in Saratoga for 40 years. My children can't go to Saratoga schools and the post office does not even recognize my address as Saratoga! I feel "soooo" much a part of this community! Anyway, grrrrrrrrr!! Today is Sept 7th!! Horrible management. This USPS location does not comply with the Code of Federal Regulations and the FOIA. The manager / supervisor is rude and dismissive. They won't even engage in a conversation, just say "NO" and hand you an 800 number to call (which, incidentally, is the WRONG office to contact). They refuse to provide services such as scanning a pre-addressed package and giving a drop-off receipt, which other locations will do gladly and without comment. Maybe the refined air of Saratoga has gone to their heads, but they really need a refresher course in customer service. read more

Horrible services. I tried to mail an international priority flat mail with standard envelop provided by them. It is black-and-white printed clearly on the cover, insured and tracked. After waiting in line for awhile, the lady told me it is not track serviced and blamed me on not asking her first. Excuse me, I cannot cut in line to ask a non-question before you telling me the discrepancies. Even now, I still don't know whom to believe, the service crew or the printed contract. We called to get appointment for passport at 9am. Were told to call back at 10 am to get an appointment. Have been continuously dialing since 10 AM for almost 45 minutes and their phone is engaged! What an incompetent place. I really wish the government privatizes the passport service! read more

I was in the Saratoga, Ca Post Office today sending off taxes and was asking IDA ( post office clerk) what was the the difference between sending my taxes certified or return receipt. When I asked for more clarification Ida shouts out "I already explained it to you and said go over there and fill out the form and come back!" I filled out the form went back to SWIE ( post office clerk) and she said "You filled out the wrong form and shouts out I heard IDA explain this to you! Here is the correct form, go over there and fill this out and come back!" IDA and SWIE are the a two rudest ,most unprofessinal clerks I have ever encountered. I have been going to this post office for years and when I go I do not expect to be humilated. I have seen how lazy they both are, always talking to each other and complaining about the customers in front of them. Why are they doing this job if they hate helping people? I asked to speak to DEE the postmaster but she was TOO BUSY to see me and she sent a supervisor named RHONDA GARCIA to see me and we spoke with thru a door. Rhonda also could care less about my customer service experience and kept telling me to back up because she had her magnifying glasses on and because I was standing on the other side of the door I was making her dizzy! How do you back up when you are speaking with someone with a door between you! I was shocked to see how many bad reviews this post office has about the way they treat people but as you can see something is seriouly wrong with their customer service. I love this post office. I have family on the East Coast and send flat rate packages several times/month. They are always helpful and friendly. I also used to send packages to Guatemala and again, they were always helpful and friendly. I'm now a big fan of the US Postal Service. read more

ZERO STARS. ZERO. ZERO! I never write reviews, EVER. I think Yelp reviews drive away the local business, especially at restaurants because everyone has different tastes, so I tend to stay away from writing about bad experiences, but this time I am just over the top irritated with this place! Background: I wanted to send my two regular letters with tracking, and on the board on the wall, it said Free. The lady that was serving me, her name is Ida, said it was $3.55 for each, or something like that, so I asked her, "oh I thought it was free." She responded with "Where do you see that?" So I pointed to the board and read it, "USPS tracking service. Free." So at this point, any REGULAR NORMAL person would explain that there is a misunderstanding, but no, instead, she just repeated her question, "Where do you see that?" So I read it again, "USPS tracking service. Free." OMG, she asked it again, "Where do you see that?" At this point, the guy working at the next window, like a REGULAR NORMAL person, explained, "it's only for packages." Great, Thanks Ida for NOT explaining that to me, and only repeating a question that I heard you the first and second time. Really, you're going to ask me the same question 3 times? IMBECILE! Worst customer service. That lady working there, IDA, needs either a cup of coffee before coming into work, or a vacation, or a new job, or something. If you're only going to keep asking the same question instead of thinking, oh maybe she doesn't understand that the free service is only for packages, you know, because a customer DOESN'T WORK THERE, maybe you should not be in customer service. I got on yelp to check the hours for the post office to make sure I get there in time. Saw all these negative reviews and decided I should post a positive one since most people without any problems do not post on yelp. The line does get very long in this location, but the staff work hard and try their best. It is not their fault that they are understaffed. Blame it on the top management, not the worker bees. AT this branch there are a couple competent front desk people but one employee is always incredibly rude and unhelpful, has a bad attitude, and I have witnessed her slamming the door shut in a women's face at near closing time, standing on the counter to tape paper over the lights while there is a line of people waiting, questioning me in an excessively rude way, yelling at other customers etc. When I am in line and she is the next available clerk, I always let the people behind me pass in front of me as I avoid her at all cost. One wonders why the post office is in such financial trouble......this is an example of an employee who has no controls around her behavior and should be sidelined to areas not dealing with the public since she in no way enhances any postal services. read more
