The only reason they get one star is because I can't give them zero. Don't bother calling, it is likely that they don't know how to use a phone. This same incompetence spills over into the delivery of packages. One time, I caught up with the post man leaving my neighbors front porch with a delivery he had just attempted, and when I asked what the address was on the package he stated my address... (slow clap). While tracking a recent package, I received notification that it was delivered. Ha! No package was delivered, no package slip was left. Oh, and on packaging slips, they will often just leave a slip or say they left a slip and never even attempt to deliver the package. I've gone online multiple times to see what time they attempted to deliver and I was home during those times, I was sitting in my living room in silence waiting, hoping, praying... but alas. You can't fix stupid. Today, at 10:33 am, I attempted to enter this post office only to find the door locked. I read the sign on the door that stated hours of operation were from 9:30 am - 5 pm Monday - Friday. I tried the door again. I looked around me to find others lingering near the front of the building also waiting for them to open. A man walked up saying he's been calling and that it would be another 20 minutes before coverage arrived... This is by far the most incapable post office I have ever dealt with. read more

The worst postal office in the city, if not the country. Unreachable by phone, their 'pick up your package' slips do not have the correct address (they say 4th STREET not 4th Avenue which is their actual address), the postal carrier(s) steal packages all the time, they don't even ATTEMPT to deliver if something requires a signature, they just leave a 'we missed you' slip. The people at the office are utterly rude and inept. If you have to use this post office, I feel sorry for you. PLEASE submit a complaint with the Inspector General so we can get some corrective action laid down. Nothing will change if all you do is write a Yelp review. read more

The blue boxes outside were really user friendly. They opened and closed easily. I read all the horrible reviews about the customer service at this location but I experienced none of that as I chose to drop into the inanimate blue boxes outside. Problems solved as the boxes don't talk back or get testy. read more

It took multiple days for USPS to stop playing pocket pool and get my package out of the "preparing shipment" stage, to start. I realize that isn't this particular post office's issue, rather just USPS in general. The package finally is in transit and is delivered to my house at a time I happened to not be there. No slip left. I had to call USPS's customer service number and find out where it was. I go to the place where it is located after 1 business day, which would be the Short North/High Street location, and the lady says it's not there....allegedly. She looked for maybe 30 seconds and didn't bother to see if it was located on another shelf on accident. This was after waiting 45 minutes in line. I worked in customer service at Kmart, so I'm a pretty patient person when it comes to complications, but I was outraged. I then had to call the carrier number and am still waiting for them to contact me telling me where my package is located. 1 star is absolutely excruciating. Poor management, staffing, and hours. But, that's a bureaucracy for you. read more

The WORST excuse for a post office ever. They don't answer the phone; the clerks are very rude and not helpful in the least. I drove 75 miles to try and track down a missing package--they sent me all over hell's half acre and came home without it! Weeks later, it appears at the door with a woman demanding an additional $10 for "extra" postage. WTH? read more

This post office is a total joke. They lie about attempting to deliver and are not open during posted hours. Examples: I live in a free standing home and they cited that they could not deliver due to having no access to the residence. I went to the office on Thursday, January 11th and waited until 10am until I, as well as about 8 other people left due to no one opening the office. It is supposed to open at 930. Not even one star. The service here is absolutely disgusting. Ever single package I've recieved has been hell to actually get to my hands. They lie about knocking on the door and delivery attempts and come up with random excuses as to why they couldn't deliver the package. They then say I have to pick it up at the post office the following day and I'll go in every day for a week and they "don't know" where it is or what to tell me. Then several days later it's just left at me door. As if they couldn't do that originally. How do we get this to stop? I'm at a loss for words. read more

Worst post office ever. Have lost every package that has been sent to me. Even with priority mail, your tracking number will leave you "left notice" and that is all. They are required to redeliver, which they fail to do. The hours are horrible, if you have a job or work there is no way you can get in because of this. Getting anyone on the phone to speak to is nearly impossible (from experience, they will put you on hold for 25 minutes then hang up). I don't know if they hire completely illiterate/dumb people, but they are rude unhelpful and can't even deliver a friggin package.....USPS is the absolute worst and should have been shut down with the government shut down....and stayed shut down. I repeat with my whole heart....PLEASE save yourself time, effort, $$, and go with fedex or UPS. read more

These people have consitantly lost my packages, my mail, and then have claimed ignorance and shrugged their shoulders every time I go looking for something that I should've recieved. It took 19 days for a four oz. package to arrive from Indianapolis to Columbus- a package that they insisted they never had. 19 DAYS! I have lived here for 15 yrs. and it has always been bad but over the past 5 yrs. I have had to start asking for people to send packages to my best friend's house on the west side instead just to make sure I actually get what has been sent. RIDICULOUS! read more

I live in an apartment building and am pretty sure someone gets them and then leaves them at my door since they arrive at random times aka 8pm on a friday night. I have been using this local Post Office Station, since it was still called "Station A" (it's now the Short North Station). I know that there are plenty of shortcomings that are experienced there, and I cannot argue against those who have experienced them, and written scathing reviews with 1 star & often less... . My experience has been good during the course of nearly 40 years. But ever since the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act was passed, I know that the USPS has been making drastic cuts in local stations, and employees. Most of the reviews I've seen, show little or nothing about the legislation, nor how that piece of legislation was passed by a "lame duck" Congress, nor how extreme some provisions were. . People's views of the USPS were far less negative more than 10 years ago. Since then, however, it has been a challenge to make ends meet, and indeed service has suffered. I took that into account when I gave the USPS "4 stars". They are doing as well as they can, during a decade of deliberate hobbling of what was once a proud service in this country. There is plenty of info on the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act; just google it, and you'll see what I mean. I will leave out my opinion as to why such extreme legislation was passed, but I will say the the experiences the other reviewers have detailed, fall into the pattern anticipated when it was developed, and finally passed in Congress without a recorded vote. read more

Do everything and anything in your power to avoid using this post office. Have been trying for 4 days to have a Priority, insured package delivered. Nothing but bs reasons given for non-delivery, i.e. blocked receptacle, no- authoried signer, bad address.....I'm so sure the carrier never even got their lazy ass out of the truck. read more

I've come to the post office before because of the convenient location but I will travel to the twin rivers location from now on. The older woman with short dark curly hair is not helpful. There is always a wait and no one in this post office is pleasant or has a smile on their face. I will no longer use this location. read more

The worst post office on the planet. They are not open before 9:30 or past 5, which means you have to take time out of your work day to go. They will also randomly close when they should be open, so there's no guaruntee that you will ever be able to pick anything up. this place is really horrible, really terrible customer service. i went there december 14 th to send out to packages out of country. one to norway and one to england. I filled out the customs stickers and handed them to the lady to put on the boxes. what happens next. one of th epackages is returned to me with the wrongcustoms form on them. i had to resend it out. the two packages totaled out to be 95.00 ... the other package , obviously having the wrong customs tag on it, says its still stuck in chicago almost two months later. i keep calling the usps 1800 number and they keep telling me they are trying to contact great britian. It wouldn't have left the country if it had the wrong customs form on it. was someone too lazy to resend me my package???????? (dear woman who messed up my package delivery by puttin gthe wrong customs form on the boxes i hope you are having a very unhappy time right now. i hope you get fired) sigh.!!!!!!!!!! the package that is STILL lost had two vintage books, a 30 dollar stuffed animal (tokidoki) and some unique trinkets for my secret santa. customer service at its worst.......went there to pick up package, guy at front counter told me my package was not there...i continued to ask where it was , he told me he didnt know...i asked him why he was being so short and rude and not trying to help me figure out what happen to my package, he told me , i dont know what im talking about .i asked his name he refused to give me it. had to ring service bell for another lady to come assist me(who was very nice) , needless to say my package was there he just was being rude and got his name (ripley) which i do plan on reporting his rude self. read more

This is the WORST post office in the city. I have had nothing but problems in the last 20 years I have lived in the Short North. They have lost packages, they have employees who give you attitude, they have sent me on wild goose chases to other locales looking for packages, and there is always a line when you go there. I have been told that they will "never be closed" because they serve a lot of the OSU Campus area so no wonder they don't care what kind of crap service they given. AND the service that my postman out of that office gives when delivering mail is horrendous as well. For the last 3 days, I have gotten other peoples' mail --- I live on East 1st Avenue. For 2 days, I have gotten mail for East 15th Avenue. Today, I got 5 pieces of mail belonging to 3 different people on my street!!! This post office is so bad that I drive to the airport post office to mail anything because I refuse to go to this Post Office unless forced to do so. I have made complaints in the past to the United States Postal Service and every response I have gotten is from Supervisors who call me to defend their employees actions. It's terrible. read more
