This post office WAS HUGE & clean! Definitely the biggest one I've been too, and I've been to A LOT. I went to reup on express shipping boxes and get a pack of stamps (I wanted a particular stamp for valentines and they haven't been available at other locations). I got the Keith Haring stamps, and 2 medium shipping boxes. Nothing special about the customer service. Plenty of parking available. read more

She is honestly an extraordinary employee, every time I step into this post office I feel special and from what I have seen she makes every one feel this way. She is professional, kind and just an all around beautiful person inside and out. May God bless her all the days of her life for being such a kind person. This USPS is great! Staff is always super nice, they go above and beyond to help, and they work fast. When the line is long or even during holiday season they have the same standard of killing the line while being kind even though they don't technically have to since they are gov workers. Way nicer than the Hacienda location where staff is slow, lazy, and rude at times. Even though whittier is farther for me I come here because they are nice unlike Hacienda location where I waited in a 3 person line that somehow took 20 mins and just for staff to say they cant scan my label and for me to drive home reprint and redo the label when they could easily have just used my qr code. After the first rain storm I finally decided to go paperless due to the fact that the mail carriers leave most of my mail sticking out of the slot so it gets soaked and not to mention someone could walk by and grab it. At least weekly a neighbor brings an mis-delivered piece of mail or finds one in the street. They never fail to get the junk mail right. Going paperless is the only alternative I can see, I hope the lazy morons all lose their jobs read more

I needed to mail a bill after hours. Why don't they have a mail box that is accessible after they are closed? I saw that another person needed to do the same thing. There should be a mailbox that customers can put mail in when the post office is closed. The post office on Michigan in Whittier used to have one that you could drive up to and put your mail in. Well, after this one, I drove by the Michigan location and those mailboxes have been taken out too. The Montebello post office still has them outside. read more

The workers here are SO lazy and rude. I was dropping off packages 80. Maggie said to not drop them off there Togo to a different post officer. Mind you the post office closed in 15 mins. I was coming In and out dropping the off at the counter and I had 3 packages left and she locked the door on me was I went to grab for them. I frequently mail out packages, and this office has lost packages on several occasions. If you have a prepaid label, ALWAYS get a shipping receipt, don't just drop it off. Second, their scales are off. There are items I frequently mail out and am familiar with the weight and cost, yet when they weigh them on their scales, it always seems to be 3/8-1/2 oz heavier. This may not be a big issue but if you're between two full ozs, you'll be paying a little more at this location. Orherwise easy parking and almost never busy. Staff is your typical USPS attitude: not very friendly but works quickly. read more

The US Post Office is double dipping the public by charging me for a recite for a prepaid return package thru ATT. ATT prepaid the post office for postage and these employees in Whitwood Whittier post office is charging double by charging ATT and the public . The clerk Marco and Maggie perpetrated this act. Giving one star because it won't let me go any lower. This place is like most government services, terrible. Going here is only marginally better than going to the DMV. Most of the employees (mainly the ones who have been there forever) are the laziest and most unfriendly lot of slugs I have every seen working in customer services. There could be a line of 10 people and they move like the sloths in Zootopia. I have had a PO box for decades and it's been this way forever. Now to make matters worse the lobby which used to be open 24 hours is only open during business hours so you can't get your mail anytime you want too. If you work normal hours it makes it almost impossible to get your mail. If I didn't have to have a box I'd print my postage at home and avoid this place like the plague. read more

Not the best type of set-up for a post office! Employees are ok, nothing special. Just really needs a make-over or new location. Seems to always have a line of about 5-10 people when i come here, and the line seems to move slowly. Many parking spots but shared with a medical facility an arcade and a diner. This is the local post office closest to my parents' house. It's occupied a few different buildings over the years, but it's been in its present location for at least fifteen years. And yet to look at it, you would think it's a temporary station rather than a full-service post office. I can understand why this post office was small when they opened it. Whittier isn't that big a place, and it probably wasn't clear in the early '80s or whenever exactly how this area would grow. Yet growth has occurred, and this post office has just stayed the same. The lines are almost always long, and although the workers are all friendly (they've worked here for years), service is ridiculously slow. If you need to make a quick trip to the post office and have a car, I suggest the one on Michigan, which is actually Whittier's main post office. read more

Sheesh, if you hate your job so much maybe find a new profession? I was in a hurry and saw tape on their counter which was priority mail. I taped my shipping label with it and didn't realize it was the wrong tape until I got to the cashier named Leah. She told me with an attitude that I had to remove it. I told her it was going to rip the shipping label and she said "well you have to go home then and get a new label. Mind you, it's Christmas time so the line is out the door. I asked if she was serious? With an attitude she said I can pay the difference, which I agreed to. Then she grabs my box and starts ripping the tape off and says "I'm helping you already you do the box". Literally ZERO customer service. I rent a P.O. Box at this location....and ONLY because, and I repeat ONLY BECAUSE the location is convenient and the SELF-SERVICE features that are available... Horrible service! I came here to ship a package. I preferred to pay at the counter. There was a lady working the self service that asked how I was paying. When I said card she pretty much grabbed the package out of my hands and forced me to pay at self check out. She entered the information and did it wrong and had to ask the guy at the counter to cancel it. Then did it again and said give me your card. After it was done I wanted to hand in my package but she insisted I drop in the bin. She was extremely rude. I should have gone to the USPS in uptown but I had errands to run in this area. I'll be sure to go elsewhere next time. read more

Lately we have not been getting our mail until 7pm to 9pm at night when it's usual mail carrier we have our mail before 4pm so I stopped and asked and showed my ID that I lived at that address and he said no when all the others say as long as I show my ID that I live there he gives it to me I'm on social security and I need to deposit before 4pm and he yelled and was very rude and said we get it when he delivers it even though our neighbors can't have there mail delivered to them it's always left at there home and there on vacation so if he leaves it there we won't get it until after the new year it's sad that it takes 4 other carriers to do one mans job and for it to he delivered to the right house read more

This is day two where I have gotten NONE - ZERO - NADDA - ZIP - NO mail delivered at all....not even advertisements!!! This has never ever happened to me in my life. Heartbreaking experience here today. I Witnessed very rude customer service to 3 different elderly customers this morning while I was here. Yes the elderly are a little slow and not able to fully understand but the two hispanic ladies working were both so rude to these elderly customers because they were not understanding. These USPS ladies should not be working customer service with the rude personalities they demonstrate while working. One elderly lady stormed out upset and frustrated. I offered to help her but she refused she was so upset. I also was treated rudely but did not tolerate this behavior. This is just terrible customer service. I'm calling the U.S. Post Office for Whittier to report mail delivered to the wrong addresses. Wait time 40 to 45 minutes. My whole street was delivered the wrong mail. Plus, this is not the first time. Not a fan of the US Postal Department. read more
