You won't find a more experienced person to measure and guide you through the purchase that Dave. The hard part was getting my wife to pick colors. He did the rest and made things go super smooth. I had my entire upstairs (3 bedrooms) including the stairs done with carpet and tile floors in the bathroom and the guys finished carpet in one day and tile in two. Perfect installation except one small spot that I called on and they were right there to take care of it. Next we had 750' of hardwood floors done and it's absolutely beautiful. I did go out for other estimates and really found out how much Dave adds to getting the job done right and knowing how to measure things to get the most out of materials. Ended up with much nicer wood at the same price as others. Last we had more carpet installed in the master br and formal living room. Spot on as usual with a quick half days worth of work. We recently had our bathroom remodeled, and overall the experience was mixed. They also stood behind their work and made sure to come back and fix issues that came up, which we appreciated. However, it did feel like not all of the workers were fully qualified for the specific tasks they were assigned. There were a few mistakes along the way that required patching or rework, which slowed things down and caused some frustration. While everything was ultimately addressed, it would have been better if those issues were avoided from the start. In the end, the finished bathroom looks really nice, and we're happy with the final result. That said, I would recommend the company be a bit more cautious about assigning the right workers to the right tasks to prevent unnecessary fixes along the way. Carlos was great and very polite. The price was fair as well. I would recommend this company for a remodel.

Jacquie has been nothing but incredible as was the installation team. So a few things stood out to me with this whole experience. First, I saw the pricing of our existing LVP (we wanted to match it in the bedrooms after removing the carpet) on the manufacturer website at a specific price but when I got quotes elsewhere, they all upcharged in varying amounts but not Jacquie! Second, the team who came to install the flooring was employed by this company, not a contracted out group which to me means they take pride in their work as it reflects directly on the company. They were on time, very professional, cleaned up any footprints along the way, and in one difficult spot they took the time to really figure out how to make it work correctly the first time. My husband actually used to lay flooring years ago and even he was impressed with the quality of the work! We are so happy to have consistent flooring now throughout the house and I can finally relax and have guests stay without worrying about carpet holding smells that I am nose-blind to! I will add better photos once our house doesn't look like a war zone with moving furniture and we put down the fancy baseboards we ordered! The team that laid the floors were professional and efficient. You can tell that this team has worked together for quite a while because everything flows smoothly. Abel, Peter, Elijah,and Daniel were their names. I suggest that you asked for this team when it comes to laying down your floors. So the company gets an A+ for laying down wood flooring. Also the office rep whose name is Jacquie gets in a plus because she went out of her way to ensure we chose the floors we needed. She goes above and beyond when it comes to helping the clients. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and I'm sure the company gets a lot of business because of her wonderful customer service. And most important the company gets an a++ for pricing. You cannot beat their pricing anywhere, believe me I tried. I suggest if you find a wood sampling that you like at another store bring it to their store and if they can beat the price. I did that a few times and they always came about $2.50 under the asking price of the other company. Now there's a few things to be aware of that I learned doing this process if you are changing your floors from tile to Wood. I went with the dust free company that they use but that does not mean you will not get dust over everything because there are other processes like laying down the float and dealing with it. it produces a lot of dust in your home. I had to dust every article in my home and cabinets when the process was completed. I would definitely recommend that you speak with the team that they use to come out to take up tile to ensure that they cover all of your items in your bookshelves and on your counters completely or you need to ensure that there is nothing left out on any counters. So, if I could critique anything I felt that the team that came out to break up tile could have done a much better job at covering the bookshelves and the things on the kitchen counter. But now I know, so I'm passing on this information to others. Also another thing to be aware of if you are getting tile taken up. You will definitely get damaged to your baseboards. I was not aware of that and I didn't have any issues in the room that had carpet in them but the baseboards in the rooms that the tile were taken up looked pretty bad because the paint was pulled up off of the baseboards when they took up the shoe mold or quarter round. When they do this, it also takes off some of the paint from your baseboards and you will be left with baseboard shock like I was because I wasn't aware of this beforehand. So I ended up spot painting all the areas that the paint came off of my baseboards and that fixed the problem but I just wasn't aware beforehand that pulling off the quarter rounds would peel off your paint from your baseboards. So just be aware and plan to either repaint your baseboards after your wood is put down or replace them. Now, if they are just pulling up carpet you will not have this issue. So in the end even with the issues with the baseboards due to the tile being pulled up and having to touch up my baseboards I would do it again because my floors look beautiful. See pics attached for the dust that was left on the counters, the condition my baseboards were left in and last but not least the beautiful flooring. Hopefully this review helps if you are transitioning from a tile flooring to wood flooring. It has been over a week now and I'm still loving my wood flooring.

I recently relocated to the Houston area from another state and purchased a new home. When I asked…read moremy realtor for a handyman recommendation, I was referred to John Patrick of Cypress Handyman. I wanted to replace several builder-grade light fixtures with ceiling fans. Before the work began, I communicated with John Patrick by text and email, providing photos of the existing fixtures and the ceiling fans I wanted installed. Unfortunately, after the installation, I immediately noticed several issues. The outdoor ceiling fan wobbled and made a humming noise, while the ceiling fan in my primary bedroom was unbalanced and its light would not work. John Patrick told me the primary bedroom fan's light kit was defective and that I would need to obtain a replacement. Regarding the outdoor fan, he said it was "as good as he could get it." After he left, I also noticed a red electrical wire protruding from beneath the mounting canopy of the living room fan. I contacted the ceiling fan manufacturer, who promptly sent a replacement light kit under warranty. I then reached out to John Patrick to complete the repair. He scheduled two appointments, rescheduled one of them, and ultimately failed to show up for the final appointment without any communication. At that point, I hired another handyman to inspect and correct the installation. He discovered that the ceiling fans could not be properly balanced because essential installation hardware--including nuts and screws--had never been installed. He also determined that the light kit was not defective at all; it had simply been connected incorrectly during the installation. Once the missing hardware was installed and the wiring was corrected, all of the issues were resolved. At the conclusion of the original job, John Patrick requested full payment and assured me that he would return to address any issues that arose. Trusting his commitment, I paid him in full via Zelle and even included a tip. After repeated attempts to have him honor his promise and receiving no response, I ultimately filed a claim through Zelle. I generally give people the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best. Unfortunately, my experience with Cypress Handyman did not reflect the level of workmanship, professionalism, or customer service I expected. I regret not sharing this experience sooner, as it may help other homeowners make a more informed decision before hiring John Patrick of Cypress Handyman. I have also advised my realtor not to refer Cypress Handyman to future clients.
